In an interview, Russian President took out time with the press to discuss global issues amidst high cost of living skyrocketing across the West and other economies around the world.

He went further to relay that Africa, Latin America, Asia and other Carribbean countries are still economies. In specificity, he stated that “Africa may be sleeping, but it will rise”

posted on YouTube on June 20 that a Russian victory in Ukraine will spell the end of NATO.

The former UN weapons inspector in Iraq argued that -

“NATO and the United States are facing the kind of moral and physical defeat at the hands of Russia that will probably mean the end of NATO.

“I don’t think NATO survives this.” he told presenter Danny Haiphong in the video.

“That doesn’t mean that they’re (NATO) going to dissolve tomorrow,” he clarified. But Ritter stressed - “I think people have forgotten that just in August of last year, NATO suffered a huge humiliation: the withdrawal from Afghanistan.”

Anyway most Nigerians thunk money is every thing and would trade even life for money, so it is understandable that this comment will arise.

To make it clear to you, buying Russian gas makes Russia richer. Rich Russia can afford more weapons to fight the war. That is the primary reason for the sanctions.
Most Russian supporters have inferiority complex for the US and EU and don't think objectively about issues.
They also wish that Russia could conquer, destroy and subjugate Ukraine quickly so that they "get stronger to match the West".
It is a sick point of view.
It minimises the Ukrainian a great deal and I wish most countries who support Russia this way also get invaded by outside powers in their bid to match other outside powers.

Russia feels Ukrainian sovereignty is subordinate to global strategic balance. They will pay a high price for that mistake and get destroyed in the process.

Putin says, the West is going down bit ot is not the US that has a dangerous war going on 400km from its capital.

The most stupid move by any country in the modern world.

We will see how this goes and history is already recording every event. Is it wisdom or naked power that triumphs.

Ukraine: Russia could further devastate US, EU economy with ban on Uranium, Nuclear reactor tech & components

According to research fellows Matt Bowen & Paul Dabbar from the Center for Global Energy Policy at Columbia University, a stop in uranium supply will hit US consumers harder.

The report was contained in an article which was written and published in "The Hill" and says that if Russia should stop supplying it's specially enriched uranium to US energy companies, USA will face serious consequences for reactor operations. They reiterated popular rhetorics amongst the populace when they restated that -

"There are several segments of the commercial nuclear value chain where a Russian supplier could impact the availability of a reactor in the West to provide power. For nuclear fuel, these include uranium mining and milling, conversion, enrichment and fuel fabrication. For existing Russian-designed reactors, they include providing unique original equipment manufacturer spare parts and services.

“This could lead to a shutdown of reactors, and given that nuclear energy accounts for more than 20 percent of generating capacity in some parts of the country, electricity prices will jump even above today's inflation,” the publication says.

From the article, Matt Bowen & Paul Dabbar reminded that several reactors currently operating in the US and EU are manufactured by Russia. This means that Putin's Russia also supplies the components for them. Should the conflict in Ukraine escalate further and the Kremlin feels aggrieved from NATO led military intervention, many nuclear power plants will be forced to suspend work if Russia cuts off supply.

According to them,

"Russia holds 46 percent of uranium enrichment capacity. The vast majority of the 439 reactors around the world require enriched uranium fuel, including all reactors in the U.S. fleet."

"Western leaders need to immediately consider their exposure to Russian nuclear exports and take steps to reduce it or face another energy shock at the hands of Putin." the publication stated.
