The Kingdom of Heaven
|
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 11/04/2020, Saturday Ministries The Kingdom of Heaven The Spirit's Word: Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Matthew 13:44 KJV Many believers have not studied the scriptures well enough to discern the difference between the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven. Saint Matthew's account emphasized the difference to a large extent. We must know that the Kingdom of Heaven is a subset of the Kingdom of God. It's like the Architectural Department in the Faculty of Engineering. Not every student in the Faculty of Engineering belongs to the Department of Architecture. So is every believer a citizen of the Kingdom of God, but not all are in the Kingdom of Heaven. But what is the difference? First, we enter the kingdom of God by being born again. New birth translates us instantaneously into the Kingdom of God's dear Son. John 3:5, Colossians 1:13. This is purely by grace. We are convicted by the power of the Holy Spirit; we believe the gospel of Christ that He died and rose again for our justification; we repent, and we confess unto our salvation. Romans 10:9-10. However, it takes obedience, consecration, and sacrifice to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. The opening text states that the man finds a treasure in a field and recognizes it's worth it. He decides to go for it by selling all he has to buy it. This is paying a great price. His entire substance is not to be compared to what he has found. Apostle Paul said, ''I count it all as dung''. Philippians 3:7-8. What is the Kingdom of Heaven? It is simply put, the business hub of God. A domain where every member does business for God and brings in profit. Jesus told His disciples to occupy until He returns. The New King James Version puts it like this, So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Do business till I come.’ Luke 19:13 NKJV. The aim of God is to get all souls saved, and the world is a market place. The enemy is doing his business to take as many with Him to utter damnation, while God has already commissioned us to be ministers of reconciliation to the world, backed up by the Word and power of the Holy Ghost. No matter what you do as a believer, this mentality must consciously remain active in you that your every word and action should bring in profit to God and His kingdom. Reminder: The fruit of the Spirit, fruits of righteousness, holy living, the dominion over sickness and the world, are all tokens of soul winning. As we minister to the world for men to be saved, our lives are the real message. 2 Corinthians 3:2-3, Matthew 5:14-16. |
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 10/04/2020, Friday Ministries Prayer and Fasting The Spirit's Word: Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. Matthew 17:19-21 KJV We shared some insights on royalty and the need for authority and power yesterday. Authority is in levels, and so is power. We receive power after the baptism of the Holy Ghost (Acts 1: but maintain it by prayer. Your level of authority determines the power attainable. Let us do a brief analogy. A one-kilowatt generator can only power a few appliances in a home compared to a five-kilowatt generator, which can do so much more - even five times more. The generator can be likened to authority in the kingdom. However, a generator cannot run by itself, it needs engine oil and fuel, and has to be started. The engine oil and fuel are elements of power. This may not be the best analogy but let it suffice for now. Our opening scripture posits that we must add prayer and fasting to our faith for maximum result. All devils recognize authority. However, some are purposefully twice rebellious and hence, the need to use force or power against them.Every believer gets the same level of authority and power at salvation, given through grace. It takes intimacy, fellowship, knowledge, and obedience to grow in authority. John 14:23. On the other hand, power is mainly dependent on prayer. This is like adding fuel and oil to your generator to keep it running. Prayerlessness leaves you dry and without power. You have often heard that a prayerless Christian is a powerless one. That is why demons will keep molesting and tormenting a believer that doesn't pray. The things of the kingdom have no substitute. Prayer would not do what tithing would do and vice versa. We must all have periods set apart daily for prayer, even if it's just an hour. Fasting is an activator, a catalyst, that speeds up the power generating factor of our prayer. Fasting also demonstrates our consecration to God, by remaining untouched by the world. A believer must fast routinely. A believer who doesn't fast still loves the things of the flesh. It's just that simple. The flesh is at war against the spirit, and only one of the two can be the master. Galatians 5:16-17. Hence, fasting weakens the flesh by starving it. This subjects the flesh - bodily and soulish desires, to the Spirit. The desire of the Spirit is to please God. If you are sincerely given to prayer and fasting, with an adequate understanding of God and His will, that's the way to becoming a force in the Kingdom of Heaven. Reminder: Study the account of Matthew on the Kingdom of Heaven. Grace is free, but authority and power are not cheap. Matthew 13:44-46. |
Royalty
|
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 09/04/2020, Thursday Ministries Royalty The Spirit's Word: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10 KJV We became special the day we stepped into the Kingdom of God's dear Son, Jesus Christ. Colossians 1:12-13. Just like the Israelites, God has shown us mercy by His own will and not by anything we could or may have done. God is sovereign, and unquestionable. He does what pleases Him. Psalm 135:5-6. Now, it has pleased Him to show us mercy and usher us into His domain of light and royalty. In His light, we see light. Psalm 36:9. This means we see all the possibilities we have in Christ and therefore, no more limitations. People stumble in the dark and there is no solution to any problem until light comes. John 9:4. God has given back the earth to man after Jesus resurrected. We are now kings and priests, to rule and have dominion over the earth. Revelation 5:10. The earth is our domain, and not for the devil. We reign by knowledge, understanding, authority, power and wisdom. It is important to know our identity and grow into our sonship. It is written: For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. Romans 8:19. How long is the creature going to wait? Today is the day! Now is the time! We can't keeping reading these scriptures without making the right moves. Prophecy has never fulfilled itself. It is men that fulfill prophecies. Kings don't live like ordinary men. There is a big difference between a king and the common man. The identity of a king is not in mere confessions and declarations. We don't run and say, ''I claim it'' for such. As it is written, ''Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?'' Ecclesiastes 8:4. The identity of a king is in authority and power. If there is no power to back up your authority, you are just fooling around. We need the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Acts 1:8. I believe people are tired of mere words. It is time to walk the talk, and this is only possible by the power of the Holy Ghost and faith, of course. Reminder: Authority and power to reign comes at a price. We must grow up to maturity (Galatians 4:1-2), and be a people of prayer, fasting, watching and service. |
The Temptation of Giving Up
|
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 08/04/2020, Wednesday Ministries The Temptation of Giving Up The Spirit's Word: Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12 Everyone has gotten to a place of discouragement when things look so bleak and hopeless, and we are tempted to give up. The Scriptures rightly point that hope that takes longer than necessary can weary the heart. We have all been to that crossroad where we make critical and life changing decisions. We have to understand that the Christian doesn't judge by emotions or logic. It is written, ''...and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears''. Isaiah 11:3. We walk by love, faith and hope. 1 Corinthians 13:13. Hope doesn't lead to shame as long as you are a believer. Romans 5:5. The Bible calls Him the God of Hope. Romans 15:13. Hope is such a powerful factor in the kingdom. Even our salvation and redemption of our bodies is tied to hope. Hear what Apostle Paul had to say about this: For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:24-25. We are children of hope and patience. Many Christians today readily compromise and have joined the bandwagon of worldly stereotypes, because there is no element of hope or patience in their lives. The Bible clearly states that we shall reap if we faint not. Galatians 6:9. It is not about how long but Who we look unto. If our anchor is tied to God and His Word, then that is all that counts. Weeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning. Psalms 30:5. There is always light at the end of the tunnel. King David declares that he has never seen the righteous forsaken. Psalms 37:25. I pray the Lord sends His angels of encouragement your way. God is ever faithful and true. Reminder: Meditate on ''they that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him''. Psalms 126:5-6. |
Our God of Surprises
|
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 07/04/2020, Tuesday Ministries Our God of Surprises The Spirit's Word: For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. Isaiah 64:4 KJV But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV Our God is a loving Father. It is sad many are yet to come to terms with the Love of God. His love for us is everlasting. Jeremiah 31:3. He is ready to do anything good for us. Jesus said we should ask that our joy may be full. John 16:24. And the surprising thing is that, God's desire is to surpass our expectations as the scriptures above declare. He is more than willing to surprise us. We were made in His image and He bound Himself to an unconditional love for us. However, it takes two to tango and so, for the cycle to be complete, we have to love Him in return. That's all He asks of us. Imagine the Creator of the world asking us to love Him in return. Such humility! If we love Him, we would wait for Him, and on Him. Waiting is being at the service of God. It is all about submitting to God, being at His beck and call. It is way beyond just fasting. We can say fasting is a subset of waiting, but not the same thing. A waiter takes your orders and makes sure you are satisfied with the service you required. The Bible declares that, ''O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. Romans 11:33-36. We discover His mind and heart when we wait on, and for Him; hearing His Voice and doing His bidding. We can never outgive God. Solomon got way more after offering a thousand burnt offerings to God. 1 Kings 3. It doesn't matter what we give to God, we always get way more than we anticipate. Mark 10:29-30. Can we decide to love and trust Him with our lives, and substance? For of such is the Lord on the look out for. 2 Chronicles 16:9. Truly, it is easier said than done because the flesh cannot relate with spiritual things. However, if we would just trust God like little children, the rewards and blessings can be overwhelming. Reminder: God is a giver and He already gave the best gift ever, which is Jesus Christ. What else can be better than Jesus, which God will not give us. Romans 8:32. |
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 06/04/2020, Monday Ministries Stand! The Spirit's Word: Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1 KJV Our battle against life's challenges and what the enemy throws at us is fought mainly by standing; standing on the Word and all that Christ has done for us. Jesus, when tempted by the devil, stood His ground on the Word, and prevailed. Standing is very instrumental to our victory. See what Paul said, ''That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro... Ephesians 4:14. Standing is a benchmark of spiritual maturity. Once we know what the Word says, that's it. We speak and stand! It does not matter how long the manifestation of what we are believing God for may take, we must stand continually. Saint James warned thus, ''But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:6-8. It is dangerous to be double-minded. Peter doubted and almost sank in the sea after briefly walking on water. Matthew 14:28-30. We must count the cost if we want this divine life of Christ and all it has to offer. Luke 14:28-32. We have to realise that the enemy will throw everything at us within his arsenal to make sure we fall. But the the good news is that we have all it takes to stand. The Word of God is the basis for our faith! Romans 10:17. Let's look closely at Saint Paul's letter to the Ephesians. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil... Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth...Ephesians 6:10-18 KJV. We have the full armour of God. God will never command us to do what He has not enabled or empowered us for. Stand fast in your liberty and sonship! Reminder: It doesn't matter how many times you failed in the past, never give up. Victory is our birthright! |
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 05/04/2020, Sunday Ministries Worship in spirit and in truth The Spirit's Word: But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:23-24 The Lord Jesus told us how to worship God; in spirit and in truth. Some people twist this portion of scripture, but it is very clear. Truth is God's reality; how things appear before God. Truth is the Word of God. John 17:17. Hence, we worship God on the basis of His Word. Most people find it hard to do this. For instance, the popular song, ''I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart, I will enter His courts with praise'', is no longer a worship in truth. We have become the temples of God. 1 Corinthians 6:19. David was of the old testament where they had a physical and standing tabernacle. God no longer relates with that song. We ought to align with God's reality and new testament truth. Worship in spirit is the more difficult one for many. They cannot comprehend it. The Bible says, 'But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit'. 1 Corinthians 6:17. We are one with the Holy Spirit, and when He came into us at new birth, He brought a new language - new tongues. Mark 16:17. Paul addressed this issue where He affirmed, 'For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also'. 1 Corinthians 14:14-15. We are not supposed to understand it. The things of the Spirit, most times, bypasses our minds. But most believers want to dwell in the mind area and it is so sad. This is tantamount to resisting the Holy Ghost. Acts 7:51. We shortchange ourselves when we refuse to worship in spirit and in truth, which is God's accepted way to do it. Sometimes, I might wake up forgetting a dream or a vision. By the time I sing in spirit for a few minutes, I recall every single detail. This is a powerful weapon in the hand of the believer and the enemy knows it. When we practice singing in spirit and in truth, it shows our trust in the Holy Spirit to sing perfect worship unto God. This is truly what the Bible calls rest. Reminder: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. Isaiah 28:11-12 KJV |
A Burning and a Shining Light
|
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 04/04/2020, Saturday Ministries A Burning and a Shining Light The Spirit's Word: He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. John 5:35-36 The Scripture above was talking about John the Baptist of whom Christ said is less the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 11:11. John was an old testament prophet whose mission was to prepare the way for the Lord (Mark 1:1- and to bear witness of Him. Matthew 11:10, John 1:6-8. As at that time, he was not in the kingdom. He even doubted the Lord and was offended. Matthew 11:2-6. He ought to have quit his ministry after Jesus' was manifested, and followed Jesus as a disciple. Nevertheless, he was more than a prophet, a burning and shining light.Light is the answer to darkness, void and formlessness. Light is the solution to the works of darkness. The earth is fallen and gross darkness surrounds it. Psalm 74:20, Psalm 82:5, Isaiah 60:2. Jesus came as the Light that darkness cannot comprehend or withstand. John 1:1-5. He has made us the light of the nations and city set on a hill. Matthew 5:14-16. He commanded that our lights shine and men see our good works. Good works refer to any work that glorifies God: both natural and supernatural. Acts 10:38. The Lamp stand of the temple had seven candle sticks (Exodus 25:37); seven is the number of perfection. No wonder the Lord commands us to be perfect as our Father in Heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:48. The Lamp stand was to be burning and shining 24 hours everyday with the priest in attendance of trimming the wicks and replenishing its oil. Oil is symbolic of the Anointing. Exodus 29:7, Mark 6:13, Psalm 23:5. We need the Anointing of the Holy Spirit to burn off the chaff and dross of the evil one in our lives and those we come in contact with; and to shine and guide the way to those who still walk in darkness. The Christian is the solution to any of life's problems. We are kings and priests with both physical and spiritual authority to rule, reign and decree. Revelation 5:10, Job 22:28, Ecclesiastes 8:4. Light is everything! Reminder: The deeper you get with God in revelation of His light, power and dominion, the higher your authority over the devil, demons and darkness. You can get to a level that the devil trembles before you. Don't ever compare the power of God with that of the enemy. |
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 03/04/2020, Friday Ministries Striving with God? The Spirit's Word: He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. Proverbs 29:1 KJV To reprove is to rebuke or discipline in order to correct. The Bible talks about the discipline or chastisement of the Lord towards His children, and it's because of His love for us. Hebrews 12:6. It is rebellion to refuse to change, or conform to God's standard after being corrected. Such stubbornness can lead to destruction, the Bible says. It takes a meek spirit to submit to correction and learn from it. There is no one above the correction of the Lord because no human being is beyond mistakes. However, it is one thing to be fallible, and yet another to be rebellious. The Bible says, woe unto him that striveth with his Maker...Isaiah 45:9. In order words, it is doom and at one's own peril to resist the Lord in such a way that He leaves you. Once He leaves you, the enemy comes in because there is no vacuum in life. Devils are constantly seeking rest and habitations that are not theirs. Devils have one aim - to destroy. We must understand that any instruction, reproof, rebuke, correction or Word from the Lord to us is for our own God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Paul asked a question, Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than He? 1 Corinthians 10:22. We can't and shouldn't live our lives like we are in control of it, and answer to no one. We have a Master and Owner, who has taken over our bodies, our spirits and our souls. Galatians 2:20, 2 Corinthians 5:14-15. The way an earthly father corrects his child whom he loves is no different from that of our heavenly Father: by strong words, stripes, extra chores or work, denial of some benefits for a season, etc. God won't send sickness or death because it is outside His nature to do evil. Nevertheless, He can call any believer home by any means to prevent further damage to others or losing that one to hell. Reminder: Meditate on 1 Samuel 15:22-23 today and align your ways with His'. |
Abide!
|
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 02/04/2020, Thursday. Ministries Abide! The Spirit's Word: Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:4-7 KJV I love the scripture above because it is a summary of all that is required of the believer. Jesus was speaking, and made us understand that we are grafted into Him, hence we must remain in him to have this eternal life. A river that forgets it source dries up. An electric bulb is only useful when it lights up a place, and if it fails to be connected to the power source, it won't serve its purpose. So many analogies we can think of. The moon has to align appropriately to receive light from the sun, and so the earth. Believers must remain rooted, planted or grafted in Christ. All that Jesus offers: salvation, deliverance, healing, prosperity, etc, can be received one off but only sustained in our abiding. Many have been healed by the power of Jesus, but lose their healing, deliverance and salvation after cutting themselves off from Him. Don't be deceived! You can lose anything, including your salvation. The devil is a thief, and he can actually steal anything you are careless with. John 10:10. Can a branch that is cut off from the Vine make heaven? Tell me how! There are many scriptures that talk about losing one's salvation, but I believe the opening text is very lucid on this subject. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. John 15:6. We abide in Christ by daily getting His Word into our spirit and living thereby. Man shall live by every Word of God. Matthew 4:4. We need to understand that the enemy's way to steal, kill and destroy is to first deceive you. Once you fall for his deception, he gains an inroad into your life. But if the Word of God dwell in you richly (Colossians 3:16), he would always fail every time. This is not a question of just sin. Sin destroys and can drag you to hell, true! But the enemy's machinations are way beyond just making you sin against God. Get rid of ignorance! Hosea 4:6. Be a doer of the Word, and not just a hearer. James 1:25. Make it a lifetime mission to keep growing in Christ. Reminder: Our Lord desires constant fellowship with His children. That's why He sent us the Holy Spirit. We abide by living and walking in the Spirit; and continually mortifying the works of the flesh. Galatians 5:16, 25. The flesh can never please God. |
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 01/04/2020, Wednesday. Ministries A Spirit of Jealousy The Spirit's Word: And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled: Numbers 5:14 KJV An angry person is dangerous, but a jealous person is even worse. Proverbs 27:4 CEV Jealousy is one of the strongman-spirits that can possess an unbeliever or influence and control a believer. Luke 11:21, Matthew 12:43-45. It is seen everyday and all round us. Jealousy and pride made the devil lose his estate and was thrown down and cast out of heaven. Isaiah 14:12-20, Ezekiel 28:11-19. Abel was killed by his brother Cain out of Jealousy; the first physical death and murder recorded in the Bible. Genesis 4:8. Joseph also, was almost killed by his own 10 elder brothers and sold into slavery. Genesis 37. Do we see a pattern here? Even in earliest Bible times, household wickedness was the order of the day. How much more now that we are amidst a perverse and crooked generation. Philippians 2:15, Acts 2:40, Matthew 16:40. Don't be carried away with worldly stereotypes. Some of the works or manifestations of a jealous spirit are: spite, hatred, anger, wrath, cruelty, rage, suspicion, bias, extreme and dangerous competition, contention, covetousness, strife, envy, evil eye, evil tongue, evil heart, violence and murder. Genesis 6:13, Proverbs 10:12, Proverbs 14:30, Galatians 5:19. Some people will go to any length to win, or achieve something without minding who gets kicked out of their way. Anything you seek or try to achieve that hurts one single individual cannot be of God. One may ask, but our God is a jealous God. Deuteronomy 6:15. God is sovereign and the only Creator. He reserves the right to be jealous when any of His creations turn back from Him unto another. This is called a holy jealousy. Even Elijah was jealous for God. The fruits of a holy jealousy can only lead to restoration, good works and life. However, the enemy perverts. We must be careful how we live with one another. The cure for jealousy is the love of God. 1 Corinthians 13. If we love one another as Jesus commanded, we won't see anyone as a threat or competition. Even in a traffic jam, the hearts of men is clearly seen to be competitive. Selfishness is the root of the spirit of jealousy, and the end of it is murder or death. Even a husband should not be jealous over His wife, it's simply insecurity. This kind of jealousy can never give you peace, so why harbour it?Be determined to do things God's way from today and exercise your authority over that spirit of jealousy. Cast it out before it destroys you. Reminder: In the Name of Jesus, bind that spirit of jealousy or any other foul spirit you detect in your life using Matthew 18:18. Loose the love of God also in your life and walk in love. Call the spirit by its name, and cast it out. |
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 31/03/2020, Tuesday. Ministries From knowing about Him to Knowing Him The Spirit's Word: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; Philippians 3:10 KJV Saint Paul admitted something remarkable in our opening text. He longed to know the Lord. At this stage of his life, we cannot say he didn't know the Lord. He was already preaching the Gospel from country to country! The Lord had appeared to Him already. He was flowing with abundant revelations by the Holy Spirit. Hence, one may ask, ''what does he mean to know the Lord?'' It is possible to know about somebody and not know the person. It takes experience to really know somebody. There is no zenith or peak when it comes to our knowledge of Christ the Lord. A newborn believer starts his Christian race by knowing about Jesus. Even unbelievers know about Him. To know Him is to have encounters upon encounters with Him; it is to know Him experientially. Isaiah saw the Lord seated on the throne and he lamented his own unclean state. Isaiah 6:1-5. Peter, James and John experienced His transfiguration, and feared afterwards. Luke 9:33-34. John the beloved, Daniel, Ezekiel and many more had encounters that left them bereft of strength and their own comeliness. A revelation of the Lord opens us up to real transformation. And until we see experientially, that we are nothing without Him, no true transformation can take place. We must be ready to know more about the Lord. Book knowledge is good, but can never be compared to knowing Him via encounters. We walk by faith and not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7. This is true! However, there is always a higher plane with God. You get to a place, the Lord tells you to ''come up hither!'' Revelation 4:1. If we desire the best of our walk and communion with Him, we must be ready to pay the price in prayers, waiting, meditation, study, fellowship, fasting, watching, submission and good works. Reminder: While we are on earth, the goal of the Holy Ghost is to conform us to the death of our Lord. That's the only way we can experience the power of His Resurrection. |
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 30/03/2020, Monday. Ministries Thoroughly Furnished The Spirit's Word: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV The Scriptures were given for man to live by. We receive Jesus once into our lives, but as for His Word: it is received daily even more than physical food. Matthew 4:4. Jesus said, ''It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63. The Holy Spirit activates the Word in the life of a believer. The opening text uses the word inspiration. Another scripture uses this same word: ''But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding''. Job 32:8. This word can be be replaced with Breath. Recall, the breath of God is what gives life. Genesis 2:7, John 20:22. The Scriptures possess the breath, or life, of God. The Word has quickening power to equip a man so that he does not lack in any area. We were made alive by the Word, and to be sustained by the Word. The Word should mean so much to us that it forms the basis for our thoughts, actions, beliefs, and entire life process. Romans 12:2. The Holy Spirit and the Word are the two reactants we need to produce a supernatural life of all round possibilities. If we live by the Word, it will always produce. The story of creation proves that the Word and the Spirit of God is the source of power. The ordinary man lacks in so many areas. Jesus said, ''I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing''. John 15:5. The Holy Spirit only quickens and releases His power where He finds the Word in all purity of love, faith and hope. 1 Corinthians 13:13. He is holy, and so, will not be found where the scriptures are being twisted, perverted and used for personal merchandise. The whole essence of the Word of God is to produce good works for the glory of God. The good works (in our lives and towards others) are the fruits of the branches (believers) which are connected to the vine (Christ). Reminder: The Word promotes us from one level of glory to another only when we study, meditate and do what we find in it. James 1:25, 2 Corinthians 3:18. |
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 29/03/2020, Sunday. Ministries Grace is too high The Spirit's Word: And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John 1:16-17 KJV As I woke up this morning, the first thing the Lord said to me was ''Grace is too high''. As I pondered this Word from the Holy Spirit, I remembered a vision I had some time ago. I saw the Lord and He asked me to go and call Moses for Him. I met Moses and told Him, but Moses fled from the Lord's presence because of the brightness of His glory. By this time, everyone there had fallen under the power of Christ. This vision the Lord showed me meant I should never compare the law to His grace. His grace is superabundant today more than ever. The Gospel of John started by describing the Word and Light, the very essence of God, which is God Himself. And John went on to say the Word and Light was full of grace and truth, being the glory of the Father. John 1:14. Paul reprimanded the Galatians for cleaving to the law having started with grace, and hence were fallen from grace. Galatians 5:4. Christ's grace is the more excellent glory. Remember the mountain of transfiguration, God the Father gave credence and affirmation to His Son, Jesus Christ, in the presence of Moses (the law), Elijah (the prophets), and the three disciples (the Church) to hear His beloved Son. Luke 9:27-36. There is nothing we can get or achieve outside His grace. God only sees us in the light of His grace. Paul did exploits for the Lord, yet he testified in the end, ''But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10. Brethren, have you acknowledged His grace in your life? Have you been operating by the grace of Christ? It's all dead works in the absence of His grace. Cherish grace today and always! Reminder: God's grace is the answer to any issue of life. However, there is the gospel of grace, and that of the kingdom. Believers need to understand that grace brings you in and keeps you in, but obedience makes you reign in authority and power. |
Modern Day Idolatry
|
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 28/03/2020, Saturday. Ministries Modern Day Idolatry The Spirit's Word: Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Exodus 20:3 KJV Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. Matthew 22:37-38 KJV Idolatry is loving any one, thing, activity, more than the Lord God. It is not restricted to a solemn worship of idols and false gods (demons). Our God is a jealous God. Exodus 34:14. Idolatry is one of the things He detests the most. He is the only Creator, and Sovereign One. Hence, He alone deserves to be loved above all, and worshipped. Actually, anything you submit or succumb to that isn't commanded by God, you are giving such worship. There is such a thing as the spirit of whoredom. Hosea 5:4. Our God is Spirit, hence our union (oneness) with Him is of the spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:17. When we choose other things before Him, we play the LovePeddler. The first commandment is to love (action word) the Lord with everything we've got. We don't choose to watch TV programs, football, video games, glamour, fashion, etc, before God. Even uncontrolled appetite or not being able to resist some fleshly urges like gluttony (overly self-indulgent) is a sin before God. Philippians 3:19. Most people struggle with a lot of things, and sincerely we may love God, but not enough. Let it be known that God would never settle for second best in our lives. The Lord put this in my heart this morning and I want to urge everyone to look into their hearts. What ever it is that you struggle with, which has put the Lord in any other position aside being First, is of the devil and needs to be dealt with. Don't take it lightly. Ask God to help you overcome it now. Reminder: Any age long addiction, uncontrolled appetite, etc, can be a spirit of whoredom, or spirit of the world trying to destroy you. Overcome it before it is too late. |
Times and Seasons
|
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 27/03/2020, Friday. Ministries Times and Seasons The Spirit's Word: To every thing, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 Our God is of times and seasons. Bible students know this as the Scriptures are replete with dates, periods and seasons where God has set and determined His counsel and purposes. The Lord Jesus came at a time appointed by God's own time. We must understand that God is never in a hurry because He knows the end from the beginning. Isaiah 46:10. For instance, we are in a dispensation or season of God's grace and mercy. Titus 2:11. But a day of judgment is ahead. Matthew 11:22-24. We must learn to take advantage of God's calendar. ''Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Philippians 2:5. The Lord Jesus reprimanded the people for being unable to discern the times. He even called them hypocrites. Luke 12:54-56. Imagine that! It means you will not be excused for acting ignorant of God's times and season. We must pay attention to what the Spirit is saying, otherwise, we may pay dearly for it. These days, some people act like spiritual issues don't concern them, or rather, doesn't exist. It can only be to one's peril to play such folly. The Bible clearly expresses such ignorance as tantamount to death: ''Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:14-17. To understand times and seasons is to know the will of God, and acting accordingly and promptly. We wait for His timing by paying attention to what the Spirit is saying. Reminder: And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment. 1 Chronicles 12:32. |
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 26/03/2020, Thursday. Ministries Our Violent Nature. The Spirit's Word: And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. Matthew 11:12 KJV As believers, we are to be gentle as doves, and wise as serpents. Matthew 10:16. We were also told Jesus was meek, lowly and gentle. Matthew 11:29. He didn't even say a word when He was being led to death. Isaiah 53:7. Most believers are familiar with the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, faithfulness, meekness, goodness, long suffering, temperance and gentleness. Galatians 5:22-23. If you possess all these qualities, you are perfect according to the Word of God. James 3:2. However, we also read how Jesus whipped the money changers, cast them out and overturned their tables altogether. Matthew 21:12. This was the temple of God. Now, our bodies are the Temple of God. 1 Corinthians 6:19. The Body of Christ, the Church, is the Temple of God. Ephesians 2:20-22. This tells us never to tolerate evil or demons. I heard the Spirit of God tell me one time, ''the devil is full of wickedness''. If you give him an opportunity, he aims for only one thing which is total destruction. We are told to CAST him and his demons OUT. Mark 16:17. To cast out is to expel from a place completely. We know an outcast is one completely rejected and excluded from society. Never give him room in your life or around you. We have power and authority over Satan and his cohorts. Luke 10:19. However, he is so rebellious that the language he understands is violence. We must be violent against evil. The devil is a spirit, and so he is able to test your resolve. He sees the substance of your faith and determination. When you see him persistent, it means you have not been violent enough with him. Grab the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word, and give him a fatal blow and he will flee. James 4:7. Reminder: Faith, fear, worry, doubt, etc, are all spiritual substances. They are tangible in the spirit and the devil can see it in you. Never give place to the devil through fear, worry, doubt, sin and ignorance. These are his tools to take you down. Arm yourself today! Ephesians 6:10-18. |
Martyrdom!
|
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 25/03/2020, Wednesday. Ministries Martyrdom: The greatest demonstration of Love The Spirit's Word: Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 KJV Permit me, dear saints! I may not have attained to the subject of discourse here but I believe it's time we asked ourselves some very crucial questions concerning our faith. Who is a Martyr? One who sacrifices (lays down) his life out of love for others and also, to uphold his faith in the Deity. The Lord Jesus was more than a Martyr. He was and is the Faith! He was and is the Deity. He laid down a pattern we must all follow in order to be perfect. Legally, we were crucified with Him, and raised up together with Him. Romans 6:3-4; Ephesians 2:6; Galatians 2:20. There is the experiential aspect we must all awake to. Stephen was martyred. Something struck me as I read the scriptures on this great apostle of Christ. It was recorded that, ''But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus STANDING on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man STANDING on the right hand of God. Acts 7:55-56'' (emphasis mine). Jesus, we all know, sits at the right hand of God, the Father. Ephesians 1:20, Colossians 3:1, Hebrews 3:1, Matthew 22:44, Revelation 3:21, Hebrews 12:2; 10:12; 1:3; 8:1. Isn't it wonderful how much honour and recognition the Lord bestows on such a one that pours out his life as a sacrifice! Beloved, let us begin to truly love in deed and not just in words. 1 John 3:18. Let our words be few, backed up with authentic and truthful demonstration of this faith we are in - which is all centered on our love for God and our fellow man. When push comes to shove, can we die for the gospel, which is Christ Himself? Are we going to deny our Blessed Saviour in the face of persecution and death? We may not be able to answer this pertinent questions right away, but the goal is to keep growing in Him unto maturity. We must rid our lives of everything that does not conform to His image. This way, we are being set up as real ambassadors, soldiers and representatives of Him, and His cross. Reminder: We become believers and continually grow in our Christ-likeness, until the day He perfects us. Phillipians 3:10, Romans 8:29. |
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 24/03/2020, Tuesday. Ministries Peace, be still The Spirit's Word: And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39 KJV Our Lord Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6. He is the embodiment and totality of peace. Peace is a state of absolute rest. It is void of fear, worry, anxiety, doubt, and every negative feeling or vice. As He rounded up His earthly ministry, He bequeathed His peace to us, so we can have rest, confidence and assurance. John 14:27. Are you troubled or distressed by the vagaries of life, look to Jesus who is your peace, and be settled for life. Jesus rebuked the fierce storm and it obeyed. Open your mouth and do the same to the menace around you. This peace is not void of external turmoils or entropy, but it is an internal equilibrium of trust and quietness, knowing that nothing can affect you negatively. Our peace is anchored on the knowledge of God the Father and Jesus His Son: the authority He has given us over the devil and in this world. He said, ''be of good cheer for I have overcome the world''. John 16:33. Don't forget this our life is one of faith. We don't have to see the physical serenity around us before we know. We know because He said it: ''no evil shall befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling''. Psalm 91. With all the commotion flying around: animosity, pestilence, decadence, etc, we can put our confidence in the One who overcame the world for us. Don't spread fear! Fear empowers your adversary, the devil. Job 3:25. Don't be worried or anxious; instead pray and confess positive words only, i.e. the Word of God. Phillipians 4:6-7. That is the way to go in this end times. Fill your heart with good thoughts, meditate on God's surefire promises and finished works. The devil has already been defeated. Revelation 12:11. Reminder: Encourage those weak in faith. Share the Word of God with them, so their faith can be strengthened. Peace comes through faith too. |
Scarcity of Sincerity
|
BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread TODAY 23/03/2020, Monday. Ministries Scarcity of Sincerity The Spirit's Word: For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. 2 Chronicles 16:9 KJV Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Romans 12:9 KJV These days, we are quick to hear slogans like: shine your eyes; every man for himself, if you can't beat them join them, etc. All such talks is man against man; woman against woman; man against woman, and vice versa. It is just like in the wild habitations, where some animals are preyed on by some others. We have come to embrace unhealthy competitions, negative biases, suspicion, envy, jealousy, etc. We only love our family. Nobody wants to be sincere any longer, because they feel or think they would be disadvantaged. We must never give up on our sincerity with one another. It is sad to see the deception in the hearts of humans. Sincerity is having clear intentions and motives which will never hurt another. It is void of false pretense, hypocrisy, disguise, reckless ambition and simulation. The golden rule is to do unto others as we would have them do to us. Matthew 7:12. God is on the lookout for such individuals as seen in our opening text. Sincerity is simply truth within. How can we experience Christ and the Holy Spirit who are both Embodiments of Truth. John 1:17; 16:13. God can never compromise His Word. He desires and searches for truth in the inward parts. Psalm 51:6. Truly, what we see today is simply prophecy being fulfilled. As it is written, ''And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold''. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Matthew 24:12-13. Rid yourself of the enemy's filth and corruption while you can. Don't get contaminated by worldliness and negative stereotypes, which are simply the workings of demons behind the scene. Desire truth today! Live in sincerity and a good conscience. Reminder: Pray a sincere prayer to God that He would teach you to be truthful always. No liar would make it into heaven. Revelation 21:8. |
Hell's Reality
|
but maintain it by prayer. However, some are purposefully twice rebellious and hence, the need to use force or power against them.
