Below is a sample;

My name is Chinedu Abubakar Adebayo. I am 34 years old and hold a National diploma in Business Administration from Federal Polytechnic , Nekede, Imo State.

I have cognate experience in FMCG having worked for over 11 years in different companies. I have worked in all Sales regions of Lagos selling a d distributing different products like nappies, adult diapers, noodles etc.

I am currently unemployed because a reorganisation done in my last company led to my being transferred to Maiduguri. I cannot work in Northern Nigeria for reasons bordering on insecurity.

Secondly I have a groundswell of customers and leads in Lagos that I can use to hit the ground running in the event of my getting a great employer.

I am a good driver and posses a valid Drivers license and LASDRI card.

I am available to defend my experience in sales if given the opportunity.

It's sad,
I think the rule should be implemented as per the Admission Year and not by month in a Year.

Hence, as long as the candidate will be 16 in the admission year, like in the case of your brother, he should be allowed to gain admission into any university of choice.
Very superior reasoning here.

Oil dey your head.

this is a false assumption. The same way hisense has grade, thats how TCL has grade. Compare TV prices, year, and specs and see which is better.

That's true. A video emerged of how she deliberately set the camera before she started her drama. Finally she bury herself with this nonsense she's started.
This case is not initiated by the girl. Ignore the misleading headline.

But honestly Ibom Air will be very foolish if the have not initiated talks with this girl behind the scenes. She has an air tight case. All the judge needs to see is that video court several times over. They should also pray that the judge is a male and not a female who has suffered in the hands of a few men.

Keyamo knows his onions. He tried to get the matter subdued. But a good lawyer will get this girl at least 500 million.

But I trust the Nigerian businessman. They will find all possible ways to placate her.

I’ve been seeing other TCL products but not their TV, the day I saw it in a store on display, I fell in love with it. I spit on Hisense.

Abeg, who knows about Haeir Thermocool ACs? I use their freezer which is verrry good, but I want to know about the AC since I can’t afford Panasonic.
Anything cooling....Thermocool has got your back. Everything else...avoid them like a plague.

By the way.......never use Shopfloor display for TV as the true justification for buying a new unit. For so e reason I think there is some enhancement they use on the floor. The pictures are never the same when the T.V gets home.

[quote author=BlackViper post=136417693] is just one version of the story. This the version of organisation.......as recounted by their staff. Whoever scripted the press release is only acting based on instruction.

It would be nice to hear the version of the Lady. Perhaps weay then be able to piece up the truth.

The story doesn't add up.

And as for the social media user who corroborated the story that's neither here not there.

Something wrong with the story.....especially the part about landing and her waiting till all passengers disembarked........huh??

True!

Bishop Oyedepo may have his faults, but he has tried with Covenant and Landmark Universities. These are the 2 foremost private universities in Nigeria.
The bolded was absolutely unnecessary. Everyone has faults.

Secondly saying that Oyedepo tried with Covenant and Landmark univerties is the biggest understatement this century. You probably haven't been to Covenant university.

The transformation there is phenomenal. A consistent growth trajectory that is almost oblivious of the prevailing economy.

This is a five star university when you consider that it is a very contemporary set up comparatively.

Let's learn to celebrate what is uncommon by giving honour where honour is due.

TV/MoviesRe: AMAZON Firestick TV - How Common Is This In Nigeria? by UrbaneHR: 3:38pm On Jul 28, 2025
Nnamdipapa:
Ok, I am just curious, hence the reason for this topic. There is this device called Amazon Firestick TV, it is like a little USB stick you could plug into your TV through the HDMI port, and the average price is about $50 on Amazon. This works with your home wifi to convert your regular TV to a smart TV. As a matter of fact, I have four of these on four different TVs and find them to outperform the smart TVs. I have a smart TV and could attest to the veracity of that claim. The cost of a smart TV is literally about four times the cost of a non-smart TV, and a Firestick for $50 just converts to a smart TV at a fraction of the cost, so I see this as a big win.

Now, most of my friends in Nigeria that i interact with have never heard of this Firestick TV, and I have asked lots of people who are never aware of the existence of this. Now, quick question I am meaning to ask, are there people using Firestick TV in Nigeria, or is there some kind of ban on this device in the country?
Nice of you to raise this here. My observation is that in this country we have very simple mindsets. Our lethargy is so palpable that you would be completely amazed.

You could describe us an advertiser's dream. When we latch on to something nothing else has a chance of germinating.

Growing up the preferred car brands were Peugeot, Datsun(120y version), Volkswagen. In the electronics field Founi came in and took over the market and held sway for several years.

Hisense is now toppling the market but operated by the same person.

We need a diversified way of thinking.

Many thanks for the education you brought here for us. Perhaps a few of us could benefit.

Pls can you go further I to explaining in detail how it works. I am willing to buy one,use it and come back here to push for it's adoption by the many of us who probably cannot afford a smart T.V soon.

Car TalkRe: Sani Abacha's Official Car: The Armored Mercedes-benz S-class Limousine by UrbaneHR: 11:26am On Jul 07, 2025
Oyindamolah:
There once lived a man named Edward Hargrave, a billionaire magnate who owned the tallest buildings, fastest cars, and rarest art. His name echoed through boardrooms and charity galas alike. Newspapers praised his empire; the world envied his wealth. But beneath the tailored suits and diamond-studded watches, Edward was a man chasing shadows.

Edward grew up poor, in a crumbling two-bedroom flat with a mother who scrubbed floors and a father who died too young. He made himself a vow as a boy: “I will never be poor again.” And he kept that vow.

By 35, Edward owned five companies. By 50, he owned nations’ worth of land. He married a beautiful woman named Clara, but their love soon became another transaction. Their son, Jeremy, was raised by nannies in golden cages, gifted with everything—except time with his father.

Edward's 60th birthday was a grand affair—celebrities, fireworks, music flown in from Milan. Yet when he looked out from his skyscraper balcony that night, champagne in hand, he felt... nothing. A strange emptiness began to stir. He looked around at the room full of people he barely knew, all laughing too loud, praising him too much.

That night, he sat alone in his study, staring at his reflection in the black glass window.

“Vanity,” he muttered. “It’s all vanity.”

He tried to rekindle love with Clara. She had long since left, remarried, and found peace.

He tried bonding with Jeremy, but his son was distant, cold. “You were never there for me,” Jeremy said. “Now I don’t need you.”

Edward donated to orphanages. He built hospitals. He paid for scholarships. Yet it wasn’t out of love—it was guilt. He began to wonder if anyone truly loved him, or just the legend he’d become.

One winter morning, Edward collapsed in his marble bathroom. Heart failure.

He woke up in a hospital, surrounded by machines—not people. No visitors. No family. Just blinking lights and beeping sounds. For once, the silence was deafening.

Days later, a nurse found him weeping.

"I spent my life building an empire," he said quietly, "but I never built a home."

She didn't know what to say. She simply held his hand.

When Edward died, his funeral was lavish. Politicians came. CEOs. Cameras flashed. Speeches were given. But Jeremy didn't attend. Clara sent flowers, nothing more.

That night, the housekeepers packed away his belongings—closets of designer suits, unopened gifts, shelves of rare books no one had ever read.

A cleaner paused by the fireplace where Edward’s portrait hung, eyes proud, suit perfect. She shook her head and whispered:

“Vanity upon vanity. All is vanity.”

And just like that, the richest man in the city became the loneliest memory in a golden tomb.

---

Moral:
You can possess the world, yet have nothing.
True wealth is measured not by what you own, but by who holds your hand when everything else fades.
An example from one extreme. Several examples abound of Billionaires who steered the middle course.
You may also wish to note that many poor people also suffer the same experience.

Yes....because he died prematurely, just like his compatriot Murtala.

Prolaonged ineffectual leadership has completely eroded our sense of qualitative leadership.

We have never had leadership in the true sense of that word. Incidentally we have sported the brightest brains who designed the right developmental templates that would have ushered us into eldorado but we ignored them.

My respeAyidact(s) to Philip Asiodu, Allison Ayida and their contemporaries who could have made a difference and demonstrated this potential in very pragmatic ways even then.

The trio of Nnamdi Azikiwe, Obafemi Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello have works which indicate the direction we would have towed if not for the greed that ensued. Mind you they were no where near perfect but they were visionaries.

I will be frank with you bro, brainjotter cannot make Mike Ejeagha popular by introducing him to the internet. Ejeagha's songs have been on steady download on the internet by youths and children since when Nigerian music started to hit the internet. I have downloaded a lot of them from many online stores. Ejeagha has been a household name for over 4 decades.

I will say Brainjotter got more popular himself by promoting Mike Ejeagha song. I will give his some kudos to that, but accepting he made Mike Ejeagha more popular is diminishing the influence of Mike Ejeagha over the years. Like I said before. My dad bought and played Ejeagha songs, I bought and played most of Ejeagha songs, before later downloading them after my discs kept scratching and jumping. I have the discs here to prove it. My children listen intently when I play those original versions and I am sure they will play th4m when they are of age to start recording songs themselves. Mike Ejeagha s9ngs will penetrate anyone easily, if you cool down to listen to it. He also has a couple of songs in English language.

Brainjotter tried, I also danced the gwo gwo gwo ngwo song but the original is irreplaceable for me.
Great write-up but you still missed the point.
Your compatriots in Akwa Ibom, Cross River and indeed the entire South-South and beyond never heard of Mike before now.

Even in the Southwest Mike was not largely known outside the Igbo clusters. Let's not talk of even the North.

You would be surprised that a few years ago his music was played in a wedding party I attended in South Carolina.....and guess what it was a not a Nigerian or African party but a core Caucasian party.

It's not in doubt that Mike was popular before the Brain Jotter intervention but he became a global phenomenon in the last few years.

And you are correct about what you wrote up there....Brain Jotter also gained some popularity from his intervention. I never knew him before the Gwon-gwon challenge. But then he who brings sunshine into other people's lives cannot but keep some for himself.

Pls do not diminish the role Brain Jotter played in making him a household name in Africa.

Priorto this intervention he was probably very popular within the Igbo speaking precincts. I never knew of him until recently.

He may have been a great folklore musician especially with his reliance on the Igbo language as the channel of his message but Brain Jotter through the Internet helped him break those primordial boundaries.
