OriOko88:No need to doubt. He is very correct. Until quite recently there were no direct flights to other west coast nations apart from Ghana. Going to Banjul involved several stop overs. African flight routes are not yet properly developed owing mostly to economic inviability. You would be surprised to know that getting to Congo (DAR) is longer than going to any European destination. |
chatinent:What you don't know you don't know. It would be better to keep quite than to discard all doubts about your ignorance in one single sentence. There are medical procedures in Nigeria that cost double that amount. May we never be in a position where we discover that we need to spend this kind of humongous amounts. |

ikaboy:No I am not for deception. As stated earlier the promoters of GNLD and indeed other network marketing schemes are the ones that destroyed the business model all in a bid to grow fast and become high flying, well paid and vacation eligible distributors. They conscripted hapless, very desperate Nigerians and trained them using very unwholesome approaches to motivate these recruits into practicing converts who regurgitate these unbelievable lies to prospects. Ultimately, it will be destroyed because the system is not designed to work that way. I insist that is a very beautiful and functional model but it must be practiced the way it was designed. By the way, my mum was a network marketer far back in the 70s as a Student in the UK. She sold Avon, Mary Kay and some other American Cosmetics brand. It was not done like this. I remember clearly how she and her Indian friend move around in the evenings trying to get other women to register and use the products. |
Dronedude:Pls note that I am not a GNLD Distributor.....anymore. I was a distributor over 20 years ago. I still use some of their very wonderful products. And by the way, several other network companies exist.and I patronise them as the need for their products arise. The trick for me is that if I plan on using their products for a long time I resisted as a distributor so that I get the system discount. Jigsimur is one product that I buy monthly and share with my old parents and other friends and family. Recently there are some stem cells products that have proven very effective. I patronise them too. One thing you cannot take away from the network companies is the superiority of their products. Just try simple product like Chelated Vitamin C from GNLD for a week and come back telling us your experience. So far for me one the best products I ever came across is the Vitality Pack and the Phytodefence pack. The effect after a few hours is miraculous. |
Gotocourt:That's the problem. The use of the word distributor is a misnomer here. Flip the word aand you will get a different meaning......as in spread the products. In your everyday parlance the word distributor is synonymous with stocks. If you do that with a network marketing you are deflecting from the original plan and it could implode. However in Nigeria and other third world countries we try to modify the system to suit our immediate profitability projections. Many group leaders also create intermediate holding warehouses where their downlines can access these products but note that they benefit more as the products give them greater business value (BV). That's how they get those Million Naira monthly cheques which they then have to plough back in to the business to restock. This is drawn from my experience. |
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Network marketing as originally designed. In many developed countries it has worked for decades. The problem is how the model is deployed in Nigeria. The very fundamentals are distorted here and deceitful schemes are hatched and implemented without any consideration for the victims. The products are superb and work as supplements. The business model is flawless if you take time to study the script as presented by the company. Most people in Nigeria don't read. All we do is listen and we are easily deceived by the convoluted success stories (however please note that there are genuine successes recorded but only few and far apart) If you understand the model and strictly adhere to the terms without a transferred excitement then you will not be under pressure. Start with registering as a distributor, buy and use the products as you may need them and then begin to share your experiences confidently. Avoid group trainings and canvassing for downlines on a permanent basis. Continue with your daily schedule and whatever you do please do not stock products. My humble submission. |
lightwind:He pays very heavy taxes. You want him to repair the roads on top of the taxes he pays. Next, you will ask him to feed the masses. |
UzorIyke:This a display of indescribable ignorance. For your information in 2025, universities are no longer about size, architecture and aluta continua. There has been a serious paradigm shift. Many federal universities struggle seriously in the areas of research and other academic areas. On the whole I would advise you to tread carefully when comparing universities. You need to visit some of these private universities and discuss with their products to know how far in front they are. Covenant, ABUAD, Babcock engineering graduates will compete satisfactorily with any product from any Federal university. I can bet on that. Meanwhile, try and visit ABUAD teaching hospital. Perhaps that will help you reappraise your perception. |
Helinuse:You are most definitely living in the past. Speak to contemporary HR practitioners about extant expectations. |
tjcoded:Thanks. 20k above budget. |
FutureFocus:You actually place a price tag on your advert. Don't worry, you will learn real life lessons as we progress. An ordinarily smart fellow deliberately playing at being difficult for reasons bordering on self aggrandisement. |
tjcoded:How much is the one in the first frame....specifically the oxblood one with a bucket like brace? |

Anyone here who knows a Lagos based driver looking for a job? Salary is between 100-120k Another job opening for an experienced Sales Rep. Salary is 100k. Job role is servicing retail outlets with products. Accomodation may be provided for successful candidates. Mention me in a dead thread. |
FaAbData:You will be surprised at the statistics. If you have not had a personal experience you cannot fully understand how close you are to death. Victims choke to death in less than 60 seconds. |
Slawoomir:Very intelligent submission at the bolded. You cannot say that the FG embarked on a plan without a basic plan. There would be a budget for the road that would undergo several variations. But fine, if you choose not to reveal the original budget why not share the expenditure profile for the completed parts of the job. That would be the next good move......at least feed us with some transparency. Too much cloak and dagger here leading to all manners of conjecturing. |
Nwaikpe:This is a very misleading post. Poorly researched and yet presented authoritatively........typically Nigerian. You have absolutely no idea of what you spewed up there. Pls refrain from publishing what will diminish your moniker. The private universities will suprise you if you take an in-depth look into their operations. The era of the public universities over. There may still be a few of them who are trying their best to compete but they have too many hindrances ranging from very inadequate funding to very intense politics. Perhaps if you had not mentioned Covenant university I would have overlooked your post as I am wont to do to many. Do you have any idea of the pool of academic resources that university has? Have you heard of the exploits of Afe Babalola university? You think that institution would hire second rate academics. Bros, you are a long thing. Wake up we are in 2025. |
iceking4:It's still boils down to the freewill we all have. Government is the greatest revenue generator in this country. How much do the y pay? You see bros....I am advocate of people paying well but that is a function of relativity. I have worked in many places and in different roles/capacities. Personally I find negotiations for upward review of salaries rather tiring. The company only pays you what the perceived is your value to the system. If you feel you are undervalued, notify them and leave. Trust me you would have helped more people than carrying placards and negotiating. If a good hand leaves a company it's usually a reason for reviewing reward. |
DaddyJapan:Bros, after all said and done,I can only tell you that the best hands will seek the best offers in every industry. If you have built a flawed reputation in Human Capital management you will eventually have to pay for it with a dearth in skilled hires. Skilled Labour is very fluid. Companies outdo themselves in seeking out the best hands for a role. I could mention here that I have been part of a process where a company has recruited a very tested hand simply because they did not want the competition to hire him. Your best bet in this life is to develop yourself as much as you can. By so doing you strengthen your negotiation capacity which will in turn help others coming after you. By the way I don't wish to know where you have been/worked just like I would never flaunt my professional/career antecedence here. It's an anonymous public forum. |
yarimo:Dangote should only be a stepping stone y.to your dream job/establishment. The man can choose to run his company the way he wants. You also reserve the right to stay or to leave. Arm twisting techniques will not work in a private company. And by the way.....Pengassan is no saint. Look into what happens there and you will be shocked. The most realistic method of demanding for what you think you deserve is by asking formally and if you are denied and yet are still convinced that you are worth more quit the job. If several people take that route management will.most definitely review their stance. Thanks to the last 10 years this is now a Pro-Employers market. |
Omayie:Location pls. |
DenreleDave:Apologies Sir! Your shoes appear quite good. I've been admiring them for a while but I cannot deal with an online vendor who is not upfront with his prices.......and I am sure I represent the position of many Nairalanders. Put up your prices and I call and buy and perhaps others will follow suit. But you can retain your model if it suits you..... ultimately. You got great products nonetheless. Best wishes. |
DenreleDave:Prices pls |
WizardOfNG:Don't you think it should be the other way round. Let government start being accountable with the very little they have and there will be less hubris about this tax matter. Recall that during the reign of Fashola in Lagos, there was a serious expansion of the tax net which affected a lot of people but there were very few serious complaints. |

hotseat:No victory here. Staff of Dangote know better than to join NUPENG. Remember this is his personal business. He pays very well and I assure you anyone that loses his job in Dangote will regret steppingvout of line. This isn't the first time this is happening. Recall Dangote Flour incident with staff unionisation? |
uncleteeh:Beautiful way of putting up a short and yet detailed profile. We do t have any openings in operations/Architecture....... But let's keep our fingers crossed. |
? If you contribute to the growth of the company, is it not fair that the company also contributes to your welfare and career growth? Why are some of you so insensitive!
