Football has always relied on a single, stabilizing principle of physics: The game is decided on the pitch.
That principle is not just a tradition—it is the structural integrity of the sport. When a match is played, officiated, and concluded under the authority of a referee, what follows is not supposed to be interpretation. It is meant to be finality.
So, when the Confederation of African Football (CAF) reportedly withdraws a tournament outcome after the match has been completed and "awards" it elsewhere, we are no longer talking about a "controversial call."
We are witnessing a Structural Event.
The question is not: “Was CAF right or wrong?” The real question is: What kind of architecture produces a decision like this—and what does it reveal about the future of the game?
THE H.A.S.E. BREAKDOWN
1. LOAD: Pressure at the Boundary
Every system has a weight limit. In this case, CAF was operating under extreme Institutional Load:
• A high-stakes continental clash between Senegal and Morocco.
• A mid-match disruption (the walk-off).
• Intense media scrutiny and political interest.
Structural Insight: Load does not break a system; it simply reveals what the system was actually built to protect. Under this weight, did CAF protect the Rules or did it protect the Peace?
2. IDENTITY: The Rules vs. The Room
At its core, CAF is currently a system with a split identity.
• Identity A (The Official): A rules-based authority where Decisions are anchored in the Laws of the Game.
• Identity B (The Politician): A management body where decisions are shaped by institutional "stability."
If CAF were operating under Identity A, the referee’s authority (Law 5) would be absolute. The result would stand, and punishments would be handled separately. By reversing the result, the system has signaled that Identity B is in charge. It is an institution that now reserves the right to "edit" reality after the whistle has blown.
3. MEANING: The Story vs. The Physics
Systems fail when they stop looking at facts and start managing "Meaning."
• The Fact: The match was completed. The referee signaled the end.
• The Meaning (CAF's Version): The disruption "compromised" the event, making the outcome contestable.
When a system begins to re-interpret raw facts to fit a desired institutional outcome, it is no longer a governing body. It is a Results Manager.
4. THE PAUSE: The Procedural Shortcut
In stable systems, there is a "Pause Layer"—a mandatory gap between a crisis and a decision. This gap ensures that the system follows a Process rather than reacting to a Trigger.
Reversing a completed match result suggests a collapse of this Pause. It is what H.A.S.E. calls "The Procedural Shortcut." The system skipped the depth of established law and moved directly to a resolution that "fixed" the immediate political headache.
5. INCENTIVES: The Hidden Gravity
This is the most important layer. A system will always protect what it is rewarded for.
If CAF is rewarded for Political Balance and Avoiding Escalation, then the "integrity of the ninety minutes" becomes a secondary concern. The hidden incentive here is Institutional Survival, not Sporting Finality.
THE DANGER: The Erosion of Trust
The biggest consequence of this decision isn't about who won or who lost. It is the destruction of the one belief football depends on: When the whistle blows, it is over.
If that belief weakens:

FINAL VERDICT

Now, it felt like a place of uncertainty.
Fans were no longer asking, “Why did we lose?”
They were asking something far more dangerous:

The System That Once Made Sense
Not long ago, Chelsea FC was one of the most structurally coherent teams in Europe.
They weren’t always the most entertaining. But they were something more important:

What Destroyed the World's Most Dominant Phone Company Was Not Ignorance. It Was Architecture.

Nokia did not collapse from ignorance. Its engineers understood technology. Its strategists understood markets. Its executives were not, by any reasonable measure, unintelligent people. The organization had access to the same information that Apple and Google were acting on. What Nokia lacked was not information. It was the architectural capacity to process that information correctly. And that distinction — between knowing and being structurally able to act on what you know — is the real lesson that two decades of business school analysis has consistently failed to name.
There is a question that analysts have been debating since the collapse, and they keep arriving at the wrong answer. How did Nokia — a company that once held 40% of the global mobile phone market, a company so dominant that its name was synonymous with the device itself — fall apart in less than a decade?
The popular answers are satisfying but insufficient. They say Nokia was arrogant. That leadership was blind. That they missed the smartphone revolution. That they were too slow, too stubborn, too comfortable. These answers describe symptoms. They do not explain the structure that produced them.
The H.A.S.E. framework — Human: Architect. Systems. Engineer. — does not ask what went wrong with Nokia's strategy. It asks something more precise: what was the architecture that made that strategy inevitable? Because when you map Nokia's collapse against the structural layers of a failing system, what you find is not a company undone by bad decisions. You find a company destroyed by the rigidity of a system that had been built for a world that no longer existed.
This is what that looks like from the inside.
THE LOAD: What the System Was Actually Facing
Every system operates under load. Load is the external pressure that the architecture must process, adapt to, and respond to in real time. When load increases faster than the system can update, the first cracks appear — not in strategy, but in structure.
Between 2007 and 2010, Nokia faced one of the most rapid and complete load escalations in corporate history.
In January 2007, Apple launched the iPhone. It was not simply a better phone. It was a different category of object entirely — a pocket computer that happened to make calls, built around a software ecosystem rather than hardware capability. Nine months later, Google announced Android, an open-source platform that would allow any manufacturer to build on the same software foundation. Overnight, the industry that Nokia had spent thirty years mastering — the manufacturing, distribution, and hardware refinement of mobile phones — became secondary to a capability Nokia had never prioritized: software development and platform architecture.
Consumer behavior shifted with corresponding speed. The definition of what a phone was supposed to do expanded faster than any product cycle could follow. Demand for applications, touchscreens, internet integration, and seamless software experiences did not emerge gradually. It arrived almost instantaneously, and it did not slow down to wait for the existing market leader to catch up.
This was the load. It was not a single event but a cascade — each development compressing the available response time, each shift widening the gap between what Nokia was built to produce and what the market had begun to require.
The load itself was not fatal. Systems can adapt to load. What determines survival is not the intensity of the pressure but the quality of the architecture processing it. And Nokia's architecture, when the load arrived, was already running on a framework that could not see what the pressure actually was.
THE MEANING LAYER: How Leadership Read the Wrong Signal
Here is where the structural failure begins.
When something happens — a market shift, a competitive threat, an environmental change — it does not arrive as a fact. It arrives as a signal. And before any decision is made, before any strategy is formulated, that signal passes through a meaning-making layer: the interpretive architecture that determines what the event means, what it represents, and what level of threat it actually constitutes.
Nokia's meaning layer in 2007 was built from three decades of uninterrupted dominance. That dominance was not incidental — it was the primary data source from which the organization's interpretive architecture had been constructed. Nokia had survived competitors before. Nokia had watched industry shifts before. Nokia had, repeatedly, come out ahead. The meaning layer had been trained on a single consistent lesson: Nokia adapts. Nokia endures. Nokia wins.
When the iPhone launched, Nokia's leadership did not receive it as an existential threat. They received it as a product.
Internal accounts from that period — corroborated by later reporting and the testimonies of former executives — reveal a consistent pattern of meaning distortion. The iPhone was dismissed as a device for a niche premium consumer. The touchscreen interface was evaluated as technically inferior to physical buttons. The lack of third-party application support was identified as a fundamental weakness that would limit adoption.
Every one of these interpretations was generated by an architecture that was pattern-matching against the wrong history. Nokia's meaning layer was calibrated for a competition defined by hardware: battery life, call quality, physical durability, network compatibility, and price-point distribution. Against that framework, the iPhone had genuine weaknesses. The meaning layer was not lying. It was accurately reading the situation through a lens that was no longer pointed at the right thing.
This is the H.A.S.E. definition of meaning distortion: not the processing of incorrect facts, but the accurate processing of facts through an architecture calibrated for conditions that have already changed. The signal was real. The interpretation was structurally constrained. And because the meaning layer produced a distorted reading, every decision downstream was built on a foundation that could not hold.
THE IDENTITY LAYER: The King of a Kingdom That Had Moved
Underneath the meaning layer sits something deeper and more resistant to change: identity.
Nokia knew exactly who it was. That certainty was not arrogance in the conventional sense — it was the accumulated self-knowledge of an organization that had built its entire infrastructure, culture, talent pipeline, and competitive strategy around a specific and extraordinarily successful understanding of what it was for.
Nokia was the world's most capable manufacturer of mobile communication hardware. It was the company that had made the mobile phone a mass-market object. It had supply chains, manufacturing processes, distribution relationships, and engineering capabilities that no competitor could match. Its identity was inseparable from physical production at scale — the making and distributing of durable, reliable, affordable handsets to consumers in every market on earth.
That identity was not wrong. It was simply no longer sufficient.
The industry had undergone an ontological shift: from hardware competition to platform competition. The new battlefield was not who could manufacture the best phone, but who could build the most compelling software ecosystem. Apple's competitive advantage was not the iPhone's physical specifications. It was iOS, the App Store, the developer community, the integration between hardware and software that created a product experience no spec sheet could fully capture. Google's competitive advantage was not any phone at all — it was Android, a platform that turned every phone manufactured by any company into a potential growth vector for Google's ecosystem.
Nokia's identity had no architecture for this competition. It did not simply lack the capability to compete on software platforms — it lacked the self-understanding that would have made software platform competition feel relevant. A company whose identity is built around hardware manufacturing does not experience a software ecosystem threat as an existential challenge to its core competency. It experiences it as a peripheral market development, something adjacent to the real competition, something that might matter eventually but does not require structural response today.
This is the H.A.S.E. identity failure pattern: an organization executing perfectly against a self-concept that the environment has made obsolete. The identity was stable. The market had moved. And stable identities do not update in response to external pressure — they resist it, because updating the identity means dismantling the self-understanding on which every organizational decision has been based.
THE PAUSE: When the Decision System Stopped Working
By 2009 and 2010, it was no longer possible to argue, even internally, that the smartphone revolution was peripheral. Nokia's market share had begun its visible decline. The meaning layer had begun to update — leadership now understood, at least intellectually, that the platform competition was real and that Nokia was losing it.
What should have happened next was a pause: a deliberate, architectural slowing of the decision cycle to allow the organization to evaluate the situation clearly, choose a strategic direction, and commit to executing it with sufficient speed and resource.
What actually happened was paralysis.
Nokia possessed two internal operating systems that might have served as the foundation for a software platform: Symbian, the existing operating system that powered the majority of Nokia's devices, and MeeGo, a more modern system developed in partnership with Intel that had the technical architecture to compete with iOS and Android. Both had advocates inside the organization. Both had genuine capabilities. Neither received the committed organizational investment that would have been required to make either of them competitive.
The decision cycle between Symbian and MeeGo was not slow because Nokia lacked urgency. It was slow because the organization's decision-making architecture had become structurally frozen by the identity and meaning layer failures beneath it. Leadership teams whose meaning-making was calibrated for hardware competition were evaluating a software competition. Organizational culture built around hardware manufacturing was being asked to restructure around software development. The pause that should have been a deliberate strategic reset became an involuntary organizational seizure — a system so loaded with internal contradiction that it could not generate a coherent decision signal.
The Microsoft partnership that arrived in 2011, under CEO Stephen Elop, was not a strategic masterstroke executed too late. It was the decision that gets made when the internal decision architecture has collapsed completely — when an organization can no longer generate a viable path forward from its own resources and must outsource its strategic direction to an external partner. By the time the Windows Phone partnership was formalized, Nokia had already surrendered the strategic initiative. The partnership was a management of decline, not a platform for recovery.
The pause had failed. Not because no one was thinking. But because the architecture that should have produced a clear decision had been compromised at every layer beneath it — and a decision system built on distorted meaning and obsolete identity cannot produce clear choices regardless of the quality of the people making them.
THE BEHAVIOR: What the Architecture Produced
The behavioral outcomes of Nokia's structural failure are documented history.
Market share collapsed from 40% to single digits in less than seven years. The mobile phone business — once the most valuable division of one of the world's most profitable technology companies — was acquired by Microsoft in 2013 for $7.2 billion: a fraction of what it had been worth at its peak. The acquisition itself was largely unsuccessful. Microsoft wrote down the Nokia assets in 2015, taking a loss of nearly $7.6 billion on the purchase. The brand that had once defined mobile communication globally was reduced to a licensed trademark, its hardware operations eventually sold off to a consortium, its identity dispersed across corporate restructuring documents and analyst post-mortems.
These were not the behaviors of a company that made bad strategic choices. They were the outputs of an architecture that had been producing structurally constrained decisions for years before the consequences became visible. By the time the behavioral outcomes were obvious to external observers, the structural failure had already been complete for the better part of a decade.
THE H.A.S.E. CONCLUSION: Not Failure. Structural Rigidity.
The lesson that most business analyses draw from Nokia is a warning about complacency — a reminder that no competitive position is permanent, that technology moves fast, that leaders must stay humble and agile.
These are true observations. They are not structural analysis.
The H.A.S.E. conclusion is more precise: Nokia did not collapse from ignorance. Its engineers understood technology. Its strategists understood markets. Its executives were not, by any reasonable measure, unintelligent people. The organization had access to the same information that Apple and Google were acting on.
What Nokia lacked was not information. It was the architectural capacity to process that information correctly — to run it through a meaning layer that could interpret a software ecosystem threat accurately, through an identity layer that could update what the organization understood itself to be for, and through a decision system that could generate and commit to a clear strategic direction when the external environment demanded it.
This is what structural rigidity actually means. It is not stubbornness in the face of obvious evidence. It is the accumulated weight of past success creating an architecture so calibrated for the conditions that produced that success that it cannot update fast enough when those conditions change. The architecture was not broken. It was performing exactly as designed — for a world that no longer existed.
Every organization carries this risk. Every individual carries it. The H.A.S.E. framework exists for one reason: because the only defense against structural rigidity is structural awareness. You cannot redesign what you cannot see.
Nokia could not see its own architecture until the architecture had already failed.
That is the real lesson.

In a resounding display of unity, civic engagement, and youth advocacy, students and young people from across Aniocha South Local Government Area took to the streets on Friday in a one-day awareness rally against cultism and other social vices.

Organized in collaboration with the Delta North Progressive Students and supported by the Chairman of Aniocha South LGA, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, the event took place across Ubulu-Uku and Ogwashi-Uku, drawing large crowds and widespread community participation.

Themed “Aniocha South Stands Against Cultism,” the campaign aimed to foster peace, promote security, and empower young people across the local government area. Participants, including students, youth leaders, and concerned residents, marched through major streets holding placards with bold, thought-provoking messages such as “Cultism Leads to Loss of Lives,” “A One-Way Ticket to Prison or the Grave,” and “Cultism Births Drug Addicts.”

These messages served as a strong rebuke of the dangers associated with cultism, while advocating instead for education, peaceful coexistence, and constructive youth development.

The rally was not left to students alone—community youth groups also turned out in large numbers, joining hands with student leaders in a united front to kick cultism out of Aniocha South. Their participation reinforced the growing consensus among local residents that cultism has no place in the society they envision.

Addressing participants before the rally commenced, Comrade Victor Ogechukwu Anthony, Coordinator of the Delta Progressive Students (Delta North), reiterated the local government's zero-tolerance policy on cult-related activities. He commended the leadership of Hon. Pastor Chukwunwike for prioritizing youth welfare and urged students to reject the false allure of cultism, which he described as rooted in deception, violence, and destruction.

“Cultism is not power—it is a path to ruin,” Comrade Anthony said. “We must commit ourselves to values that build our future, not destroy it.”



In the same vein, the LGA Chairman commended students and thanked the Delta North coordinator for being proactive in the collaborative efforts to stamp out cultism from the LGA. He assured that his administration will continue to do all in his power to boost security and enhance peace and youth development in order to make the LGA safe for all.

The rally concluded peacefully, with chants of solidarity echoing through the streets and a renewed commitment from the youth to resist cultism and champion a safer, more progressive society.

Mr Chuks, a former Nollywood Act, primarily focused on Ukwani Movies, have been given a new lease of life by the caring gloves of Ifeoma Aguba Fadahunsi Foundation (IAFF) who rescued the aged movie star from the clutches of abandonment and hunger.

The IAFF is a Nigerian based foundation created with the intention of supporting the needy, widows, less privileged and sickly with items to improve their living standards.

The foundation upon receiving report of the state of Mr Chuks swung into action. Representatives of the foundation first paid an unscheduled visit to ascertain the gravity of the situation and were appalled by the living conditions of Mr Chuks who was in a horrendous and terrible situation.

He veteran actor couldn't move easily without support. His living quarters was littered in faeces excreted by himself due to the lack of support. Additionally, he lacked food, clothes or even toiletries with his only company the smell oozing out of his room like a skunk.

IAFF kicked into action by providing necessary support for the old man. His room and surrounding areas were cleaned up and sanitised. Brand new items like mattress and pillow, gas cooker and cooking utensils, plates, cups and foodstuffs were also made available to help improve his livelihood.

Mr Chuks was cleaned up with his hair shaved. He was also given food to eat as he was appreciative of the help rendered to him. He prayed for Ifeoma Aguba Fadahunsi Foundation for being a tool in the hands of God and hoped that they continue doing good to those in most need of it.

The Oshimili North Secretary to the Local Government council, Hon. Austin Eloka Ajufo, yesterday, received in his office members of the Nigeria Malaria Indicator Survey (NMIS) as they were there to brief the Council on their mission in the LGA.

The Malaria Indicator Survey is a survey done by the Federal Government and it's partners to know how well Nigeria is doing in the fight to eliminate malaria from the country. People wearing facemasks and uniforms will be visiting the various homes in the LGA to ask questions about malaria, while treatment of the parasite will be administered for free, especially to children.

The Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) who represented the Executive Chairman, Hon innocent Ezewezie, assured the NMIS team of the Council's support for programmes that will give benefit the people of Oshimili North.

The support of Ndi-Oshimili North is thereby solicited by the Council as we join hands in eliminating malaria from the LGA, Delta and Nigeria at large as they are encouraged to provide answers to the NMIS team when they come knocking.

Before we go into details of the newly approved Ogwa Ogboli road recently attracted by Sen. Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi (AKA SPON), it is pertinent that we point at the previously terribly constructed roads in Ibusa littered all over the town. It is an open secret that roads attracted to Ibusa are meant to siphon our collective resources.

There are reports alleging that SPON bought up *Gordon Hotel, OGBOLI* with humongous profits made from the construction of the poor roads and drainages in Delta North of which Ogboli Ibusa is not exempted. It is reported that each of these roads especially in Ibusa were awarded by NDDC at the cost of approximately N250m yet they were constructed at the pittance cost of N25m to N30m.

No wonder the moment SPON is mentioned on the social media space his cronies who he has set a target for jumps on top of you as he has promised them *Mercedes-Benz GLK"* hence the wishy washy write-ups inundating the media space with the hope to deceive the gullible and feeble minded.

The SPON we all know is pathologically selfish and will only spend money on self-serving activities like construction of roads to service his newly acquired Gordon's Hotel or break part of the homes of his political enemies in the guise of dualization of road and/or to save his sinking political career.

If the Senator is sincere with himself, let him first repair / reconstruct the poorly delivered roads which has made Ibusa and other parts of Delta North a living hell this rainy season and compensate adequately those his evil roads have flooded their homes and made it unhabitable.

A few of the terrible roads are Asheri/Okwali area / fish pond, Obodoakpu quarters, Ashanta Umueze, Nkata / Nkeaka Leo Ohamadike axis, Ikwele / St. Monica Catholic church Rd disaster zone, Ogboli Road, Kefas Park, Umuanula-Anioshe Pry School, Okponta Road, JT Useni Road from Ashia Eke, Ahor Nmili Li Umuigbuzor T-Junction, Obi Itego Road, etc. These roads have been paid for in full as the NDDC Forensic Report will reveal, except that it is another magic, Government Magic!. The above quote is true, especially in the face of the numerous challenges Hon. Innocent Esewezie has faced since his journey to Akwukwu-Igbo Delta State commenced about a year ago. The Oshimili North Local Government Council Chairman is not a one man army, the prove lies in the support he got from the various leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the people as he emerged victorious through popular vote.

Even as he celebrated 6 months in office, he has not stopped counting on the people's support to be a successful Chairman. On the streets of Okpanam, Akwukwu-Igbo, Ibusa Atuma-iga, Illah and others, people now see him as a magician based on what he has done in his short time in office. But what they're not realizing is that the ONLGA boss is banking on their support.

Some of the numerous support secured for the development of Oshimili North LGA include the support of party faithfuls and leaders, the support of the traditional institutions, the support of the Leadership of the LGA legislative arm, the support of the council staffs amongst others. But that is not all there is.

If we sincerely look back at were Oshimili North was at barely a year ago in comparison to were it is now, it shows there's obviously no comparison. Some of the achievements recorded like the Newly built and elegantly furnished Executive Complex, Akwukwu-Igbo, with Gate House. The Agropack Empowerment Programme which empowered Oshimili North farmers, the gigantic ONLG Liaison Office Ibusa which looks like a state project with a drainage system, the Ebu Special works Programme, to mention a few.

It is so clear that the Oshimili North LGA Chairman is fulfilling his end of the bargain, so why don't we fulfill ours? For instance a lot of people in different parts of the LGA have operating businesses but are yet to pay their taxes. It is clearly the constitutional right of the council to get revenue from these businesses, tenement rates and other taxes that exist in the LGA by-laws, but instead of being partners with the local government, some business owners choose to make trouble with Revenue officers and agents. All the council is asking for is support.

The Government of Hon Innocent Esewezie is not a government that converts taxpayers money into personal money, those days are far gone. Each naira collected under his administration is tied to a project that is beneficial to Ndi-Oshimili North, this is the reason why there's a litany of projects all over the LGA. Paying taxes is a way of partnering with the council to strengthen the financial base of the LGA which cannot continue to rely on the dwindling Federal Government allocation.

Let this be a clarion call to everyone connected to Oshimili North LGA, know that the council under the leadership of the quintessential Chairman needs your various support. Be you a person or a corporate Organisation, your partnership will do a lot for the people. The Council Boss is open to partnership and cooperation as long as it is for the benefit of the LGA, he is very open minded.

Mark Twain said that, “Synergy – the bonus that is achieved when things work together harmoniously” because alone he can do so little, he's no magician.

The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon Innocent Esewezie on Saturday, joined Her Royal Majesty, Obi Martha Dunkwu, the Omu Okpanam/Anioma in celebrating the roasting of yam festival at the palace of the Omu Anioma in Okpanam.

The festival which in addition to the Executive Chairman was graced by His Royal Majesty, Obi Dr. Kikachukwu JP, the Obi of Ubulu-uno, ably represented, Chief John Nwafor, the Isama of Ashama kingdom, Comrade Ifeanyi Nwaezeigwe, S.A. to the Executive Governor on Youth development, the House Leader, Hon Adim Ofuase, all the Omu drawn from the Communities in the LGA, and prominent personalities, as it also involved the unveiling of the Centre For Omuship In Anioma & Women Development Initiative with its building fully built and donated by Omu-Anioma HRM Obi Dunkwu for the foundation.

The foundation which is a nongovernmental and nonprofit organization was conceived and established by Obi Dunkwu in her desire to sustain the Omu traditional institution which is currently over 700 years old. Her Royal Majesty during her speech gave a brief history on how Anioma Forebears in their wisdom established the Omuship many centuries ago.

She also hailed the LGA Chairman for his work at the Council in his short time in office. She recalled how she promised to always support him before the elections and reiterated that her stand is yet to change as long as Hon. Esewezie continued to walk in the part of the people and bringing development to Oshimili North LGA.

In his speech, the Peoples Chairman was unequivocal in pointing out the good works of the Nneoha. He noted that the Omuship might have gone into extinction if not for the Omu Anioma who has shown capacity in the fight for the preservation of a revered tradition of the Anioma people. While speaking the LG boss had asked, "if not for Obi Martha Dunkwu, what would have happened to the Omu institution? This institution was almost facing extinction, but one woman in Anioma land refused to allow this our very wonderful, revered institution to die and God will bless you ma".

Hon Innocent Esewezie pledged to use his office to support the Omuship in Oshimili North. He posited that they deserve to have the recognition befitting of the work they put in for the people, especially for women and the female children. "We say this because we know that they deserve to be appreciated by the people of Anioma and also by the government of Delta State, which also includes the council." The Chairman noted that it was unfair to be serving their people without being recognized and assured them that with the help of the Oshimili North legislative arm and all the Councilors, they would do something about it.

The Omu Anioma used the opportunity to take the guests round the premises built to house the Omu Palace and the foundation, she said that it was her hope that the initiative would bring in tourist from all over the world which in turn would translate to revenue to the local government.

Asaba has flood problem, based on its location, and lack of initial planning and other reasons. But putting it at the feet of the airport shows a lack of knowledge about Asaba, because where the airport is located is well removed from residential areas... This post is at least 78% rubbish meant to indict without facts.

Finally, for the writer's information, about 80% of the airport land belongs to Ibusa, not Okpanam as the writer insinuated. If you were actually in Delta you would probably know that.

It was a remarkable day for party faithfuls in Oshimili North Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the PDP LGA chairman, Chief Felix Ogwude and Hon. Innocent Esewezie, Chairman Oshimili North LGA, recieved top Chieftains of APC and Ward Chairmen to their fold.

The ward Chairmen were drawn from Ibusa Axis of the local government are now members of the People’s Democratic party (PDP).

The various chairmen who spoke extensively on their undiluted quest to move en masse with their large followers into the People’s Democratic party (PDP), described APC as a party that lacks vision to pilot the affairs of the nation, going by the set of leaders that have highjacked the party and their agents who have been selected to head the party.

Some of the Chairmen posited that they never had any problem with the PDP, but those who previously led the party who have currently been absolved to the party. They complained that the new APC members brutally highjacked the party in a coup led by the state leadership from the Senate.

ONLGA boss while welcoming them told the decampees that they the party is a pan Nigerian party. In his words: “the umbrella is large enough to accommodate like-minds who understand the slogan of “The Party comes first”.

It’s evidently clear that the coast of the PDP will keep enlarging on a daily basis, going by the unimaginable clout the party keeps ascending, with visibility of human and infrastructural development cut across the local Government and the State.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Leaders drawn from the nine local government of Delta North and led by their Senatorial Youth Leader, Comrade Lucky Onyia, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon Innocent Esewezie who also doubles as the Director General of the Delta State Community Youths Association.

The Youth Leaders thanked the ONLGA Chairman for his role in Youths Development in Delta State. They also commended him for his continued support for the Party Leader in the state in the person of the Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa.

Comrade Lucky Onyia, the Senatorial Youth Leader of the party, used the opportunity to reel out some of their proposed youths Programmes and sought the Support of the LG boss in engaging youths from the Senatorial district.

Hon. Innocent Esewezie gladly welcomed them. He described them as the heartbeat of the party. He expressed his happiness that the youth arm of the party is living up to its responsibility. He encouraged them to be more proactive in bringing youths together.

It was a thing of coincidence yesterday Saturday, as the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon Innocent Esewezie was present in Ebu Community for inspection of the environmental sanitation only to discover that same day was the Ifechi festival.
The Ifechi festival is a day set aside in the tradition of the people of Ebu to praise God for favouring them all through the year.

Some of the youths who took part in the monthly sanitation invited Hon. Esewezie to the home of Hon. Zik Emina where they were having a mini celebration. Despite having a busy and tiring day, the indefatigable Executive Chairman of Oshimili North LGA obliged and joined the Ifechi festival.

While there drums were rolled out as the people eulogized the LGA boss. The noted that Ebu has never in past have the sitting Chairman seated with them the common man during a festival or any other events. They pointed out to the efforts he has been putting in to make the local government better and urged him not to be weary or tired.

While speaking, a PDP stalwart and two term Councilor hailed the youth friendly Chairman for being supportive to the youths through the creation of employment. In his words: “Whoever told us that job opportunities will still emanate from the council, we would have said it’s a huge lie, but with your emergence as the chairman our youths have been massively employed and engaged”.

The Chairman appreciated the leaders and people of Ebu, he told them that it was their support that brought him this far. He implored them to keep the support alive because the Community is in his heart. He said he would do all he could to make sure that students of Ebu Grammar School returned to the beautiful structure provided by Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa’s led state government.

...Proffers Solutions To Escalating Environmental Hazard In Umuodafe

The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon Innocent Esewezie, on Friday, in the company of the Delta State Commissioner of Environment, Christian Onogba and Emma Chinye, the Chairman of Delta State Waste Management Board paid an assessment visit to the dump site located at Umuodafe, Ibusa, over report of the hazardous condition of the site.

The dump site which is in a very bad condition is obviously in need of care, hence members of the Community had to report the situation to the government due to its hazardous State, prompting the visit by the Local Government Council Chairman and the members of the state delegation.

The LGA boss condemned the lack of control in the dump site which has resulted in leaving the people of Umuodafe with a Hazardous environment. He urged for collaboration in swiftly profering solutions to the problem.

After the tour and assessment of the environment was taken, further actions are set to follow next week.

Some of those in the tour include, Mr. Luka Igbinoba, the Executive Assistant to the Governor, Comrade Ifeanyi Asiodu, the Ibusa Youths Council (IYC) President, amongst others.

Hon. Innocent Esewezie, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, on Wednesday, held a meeting with the President General (PG) of Akwukwu-Igbo Development Union, Chief Ikechukwu Joseph Iwegbu and Chief (Onowu) Austin Abuah, the Special Assistant to the Chairman on Community Development as they deliberated on critical areas that will enhance Community Development.

The meeting which was held at the office of the Chairman, Executive Complex Akwukwu-Igbo Delta State also gave them the opportunity to take a tour of the Akwukwu-Igbo ICT Centre, built and furnished by the House Minority Leader, Hon Ndudi Elumelu as modalities were put in place to help facilitate it's usage for the benefit of Oshimili North and Akwukwu-Igbo people precisely.

The Chairman during the tour of the ICT Centre was impressed by the equipment found but admitted that more work is needed to boost optimal use. The initial assessment showed that the ICT Centre needed fencing, power supply, amongst others and assured the DG that the Council will ensure that the centre is in the best condition as soon as possible.

Immediately after the tour, the DG also known as Onwa Akwukwu-Igbo appreciated Hon Innocent Esewezie for his vision to reposition the LGA to be the best in Nigeria. He said: "we are thanking you very much for the mere fact that you want our local government to be the best in Nigeria and your ideas of projects."

He continued, "we pray that God will give you the ability to put into place all the good things you have planned for this Local Government, the resources from everywhere will be provided and you will have people that will support you and work with you in that same mind you have. God will lift you from here to higher positions, that's what we (Diokpa Abuah and I) are telling you. We are thanking you and telling you not to be tired. Continue in your good work, the Lord Almighty will crown it with success."

Onwa Akwukwu-Igbo also thanked the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Hon Austin Ajufo describing him as being "wonderful", he further hailed the Chairman for his vision in approximately choosing those working with him noting that synergy is the result.

Gov. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa of Delta State on Sunday received the members of Delta Political Vanguard on a solidarity visit with Hon Innocent Esewezie also present, as they joined the statesman and his family in celebrating his late father, Pa Okorie Arthur Okowa at Owa-Alero.

Hon Innocent Esewezie, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North is an active member of Delta Political Vanguard (DPV) a political pressure group led by Hon Michael Diden Ejele as Chairman and Hon Ifeanyi Eboigbe (Director General).

Thousands of people gathered at the Federal Road Safety Commission Centre at Owa- Alero to received the Governor who was earlier at Warri for the Thanksgiving of the new Olu of Warri.

The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon Innocent Esewezie, joined his wife Mrs. Flora Esewezie, as she held an inaugural meeting with the wives of the Honourable Councilors and wives of the Ward Chairmen at the Council Secretariat in Akwukwu-Igbo Delta State.

The Vice Chairman of Oshimili North LGA, Hon. Amb. Uju Okolo was also present, not excluding the Female Honourable members of the LGA as a platform meant to help empower the women of various wards in the local government was created.

The inaugural meeting of the women group was held at the conference room at the Executive Complex as the LGA boss welcomed the women for answering the clarion call. He thanked them for the role they keep playing adding that "no man will stand without the support of a woman".

He called for more women Empowerment and exposure positing that that's the only way to get it right. In his words: "...if we must get it right, the women must be empowered, the women must be exposed, the women must be supported, and that's what we are about to start on this local government. If this party must keep winning, we need the honest support of the women. It is the women that gives PDP victory, if she tells you I will do it, then she will do it, that's the woman for you."

The Chairman in his welcome speech encouraged them to stay together and come up with beautiful ideas that will help the people. He said "But If you must be able to harness what God have given to us, it means that you must be talking, you must be meeting like this, you must keep engaging yourselves, by the time you start your meeting, I want you to focus on areas that will be of huge benefit to you as a person, your husband and the ward. I don't think in this Local Government that if this group of persons we see here decide to visit a particular leader, with a project that will help you enhance the life of the people, I don't think they will turn it down. Why? Because you are women, and you carry a very special grace."

Hon Innocent Esewezie beckoned on them to keep supporting their husbands physically and spiritually. He called on the women to pray for Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Governor of Delta State and other leaders God is using to bless Ndi-Oshimili North. "I want you to keep praying for your husbands and our leaders, keep praying for them because they are the symbol of this great party. Keep praying for Evang. Dr. Princess Pat Ajudua, she deserves your supplications, intercede for our Honourable Commissioner, she deserves your support, Pray for our Secretary to the State Government, he deserves your intercession, support each and everyone of us, pray for all the leaders, we need your prayers. Above all, in whatever you do, always create out time to intercede for our Governor, make it your habit to pray for him, he means well." He concluded.

Mrs Flora Esewezie, the wife of the LGA Chairman while addressing them, urged the women to come together without bitterness, anger or jealousy, because that's the only way to move any mountain before them. She posited that the essence of this engagement was to help them know themselves more and to create an avenue to touch the life of the common man. She said "we need to literally come together as one, as a team, United Force, so we can achieve something tangible during our administration, so that our impact will be felt even long after we have left offices."

She continued, "we need to do more, we must come together as a team, I indulge you all to create time so we can be going from ward to ward" touching lives through prayers and action.

Also present at the meeting was the Secretary to the local government, Hon. Austin Ajufo, Hon. Okonji Austin (O-level), the Special Assistant Political, and the new PDP Oshimili North woman leader.

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob showed himself to be with the people of Oshimili North Local Government Area, this is true because when those who hoped to keep the LGA in their clutches gathered, the Almighty stretched forth His Holy Hand and redeemed his people by using that "Innocent boy" whom they had conspired but failed to crucify in the past.

This article by no means is not an attempt to sound prophetic, but clearly, God's hands is clearly on the journey embarked by Hon Innocent Esewezie. Those who believe in the kingmakers wrote him off because they felt he was not in the good books of those that play the role of God in Oshimili North. What they failed to see was that man is not God and the Almighty got his back, so did his people.

It is an unhidden truth that Hon Innocent Esewezie, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North is loved by his people, this singular fact is the reason why against all odds they supported him and ensured he emerged as their Chairman. So far, it has proven to be the best political decision they've made in a long time because nothing beats having a leader who loves and listens to his people.

Hon Esewezie is yet to clock six months in office yet the signs abound that Ndi-Oshimili North did not make a mistake. The LGA suddenly seems to be back to life, Okpanam is gradually turning into a mega city, nightlife is quickly returning back to Ibusa, farming Communities like Atuma-iga, Ugbolu are being empowered and supported to boost agricultural produce, Akwukwu-Igbo the forgotten headquarters of the Council is beginning to wear a new look with a brand new Executive Complex fully built and furnished to the highest taste possible which has solicited commendations across political divide.

Those who have visited the Council Secretariat recently are welcomed by the gigantic gate and gatehouse which ensures that those in the security business of the council have a conducive place to conduct their activities and have a sense of security. Furthermore, plans are in place to turn the entire environment into a modern structure as it is currently undergoing landscaping, while re-roofing of old council buildings are already on the pipeline.

Ukala Kingdom which shares a boundary with Aniocha North was without a king for as long as anyone can remember, not because no one was chosen by the people, but simply because that chosen one was awaiting staff of Office from the government which requires political will to achieve. The Peoples Chairman worked round the clock to make sure that the Obi (Engr) Clement Ejiofor got his staff of Office and today there is a gazetted and well respected king in Ukala Kingdom.

Fast forward to Ibusa, within less than 6 months of coming into office, an ultramodern Liaison Office have been fully reconstructed and rebuilt (from the haunted ghost house it was known as), with a Hall capable of housing over 500 persons during events. The Chairman's foresight is so divine that he is going to be leaving not just huge structures but what will continue to generate revenue for Ndi-Oshimili North in subsequent administrations.

So far, he has empowered farmers through the Agropack Empowerment Programme and have ensured that the monthly sanitation exercise are observed all through the length and breadth of the Local Government. The truth is that all he has done can not be written in one article and note that it has all happened in less than 6 months.

Now imagine if the people of Oshimili North LGA had missed this chance, what would have been their lots today? Imagine that Hon. Innocent Esewezie did not contest for the Chairmanship position, do you think the people would be as happy as they are today? One can only say thanks to God for giving the people the strength and courage to support emancipation over bondage, so far their decision have proven to be right as their LGA experience peace which has eluded them for a long time, security of lives and properties is once again a big priority of government.

Lastly, thanks to the Peoples Chairman for being a formidable tool in God's hands for the good of the people of Oshimili North LGA. Electing the Youth general is a decision that can never be regretted judging by the five months of his administration.

The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North LGA, Hon Innocent Esewezie, during a tour of Ebu on Wednesday, urged Community leaders and stakeholders to join hands with the Government to bring development to their people.

Hon. Esewezie made this call while at the palace of the Royal Father in Ebu which was built by the people but not yet fully in use. He called on Community stakeholders not to totally rely on government to know and do everything, because without their input, Government might not be able to set its priority straight.

He said; "...if you allow everything at the hand of the government you might not get those issues that are very Germaine to your people addressed, because government have a lot that needs their attention. So it is people like us who are locals, it is our duty to highlight projects like this before our people."

The LGA boss further called on communities to speak up on their needs, he beckoned on them to hold talks with those in position to help the community because even if the government decides to provide facilities and it is not properly maintained by the Community, in the end they will end up in square zero.

"This is the Palace, and it represents everybody who is Ebu indigene. If you are from this place, then this is your root and identity, that's the truth," Hon Innocent Esewezie said pointing to the befitting palace which has been neglected for a while.

He promised to ensure that the environment housing the palace is well taken care of, "what we are going to do here is first, to keep this place healthy and clean, after that, we will make an appeal to other well meaning sons and daughters of Ebu to also come in, because that's important," he continued. He assured them of Oshimili North Local Government Council's willingness to partner with the people of Ebu to solve their most pressing problems.

Part of places visited by the Oshimili North Local Government Chairman includes the new secondary school built by Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa's led Delta State Government, the Ebu market, the palace of the king, amongst others.

The Executive Chairman who was welcomed at the Residence of His Royal Majesty, Obi Paul Odilile Opili by the President General of Ebu Development Union, Mr. Odu Asenime was appreciated extensively for starting so well with a passionate request for Government Intervention in the deplorable situation of the Road which leads to the Palace of the king and the newly built Ebu Grammar School by the State Government.

The President General of Ebu Development Union disclosed that the School was built to a High standard but for the pathetic situation of the Road, the Teachers and Students could not move to the new site. He also reaffirmed that the Road links to the Community Palace, Ebu Grammar School and the Community Health Center.

Chief Sunny Akejelu, a one time Leader of the Council, expressed confidence on Honorable Esewezie led Administration while describing the Council Boss as “talk and Do” chairman as he pleaded for kind consideration to the People’s yearning.

The Executive Chairman who responded to the yearnings of People, noted that he is remarkably happy for the support of the good People of Ebu in the Election that led to his Victory with notes that His Present Administration will work assiduously to meet up to the yearnings of the People by attracting Development to the Community as well as taking up Responsibilities.

The Council Chairman revealed that His Administration will take up responsibility of grading the Palace and School Road as well as clearing the bushes around the Structures so as to create enabling environment for Education of the People as well as give room for Community Development to be discussed in the Palace. He added that the Market In Ebu Community is considered as a major part of his agenda to restructure for trading activities.

The Honorable Councilor Of Ebu Community appreciated Honorable Esewezie exhaustively with notes that He is a result-oriented Chairman and that He has taken significant point of his ability to deliver his promises for his Constituents.

Innocent Esewezie, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North LGA on Tuesday, took a tour of old offices at the Council Secretariat Akwukwu-Igbo and used the opportunity to reallocate Office spaces to staff and Appointees of the Council who have lacked conducive working environment which aids proper brainstorming and productivity.

Recall that Hon Innocent Esewezie immediately after assumption of office held a meeting with staff were it was noted that lack of office space was among the problems bedevilling them. He also took a tour of the council and soon after embarked on the building of the Executive Complex which has been completed and recently furnished.

The LGA boss remains committed to delivering on his campaign promises, and have reaffirmed his decision to turn the Secretariat in Akwukwu-Igbo into a beauty to behold as other multiple projected aimed at making it conducive for governmental business are set to commence.

The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended a 27-year-old woman, Aisha Nura, suspected to be a notorious gun-runner with the sum of N2,405,000:00 in Batsari Local Government Area of the state.

Aisha, who hails from Baranda Village, a Fulani settlement in Batsari local government, according to police, is the wife of one Nura Murnai, a notorious bandit terrorising Katsina and Kaduna states.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, who paraded the suspected gun-runner alongside other suspected criminals yesterday, said Aisha admitted that she collected the N2.4 million on behalf of her husband (Nura) from his counterparts in an undisclosed forest in Kaduna.

He said: “On 25th July, 2021 at about 0900hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting one Aisha Nura, F, aged 27 years of Baranda Village, a Fulani settlement at Batsari LGA of Katsina State.

“Nemesis caught up with the suspect when she was arrested in a suspicious manner, concealing her presence and trying to board a motorcycle from Batsari town heading towards Nahuta Village.”


He added: “Immediately she was searched, the sum of N2,405,000:0OK was found in her possession reasonably suspected to be proceeds of arms supplies to bandits in Kaduna State.

“In the course of investigation the suspect confessed to the commission of the offence and admitted that she was sent by her husband one Nura Alh. Murnai, a notorious bandit, belonging to the camp of bandits leader, one Abu Radda, to collect the money on his behalf from his counterparts in Kaduna forest. Investigation is ongoing.”

In what can be described as a sad situation, a police officer has been allegedly murdered by unidentified gunmen in Ibusa late last night with two riffles said to be stolen.

The murdered officer was killed while on active duty at the Ibusa express, during a stop and search roadblock close to ADP. The culprits are yet to be identified or apprehended.

Our reporter spoke to an individual who was privy to the information but did not want to be mentioned and discovered that the terrible crime was perpetuated by 15 unknown gunmen who rode on 5 motorbikes. They were said to ambush the officers, killing one and making away with 2 riffles.

Another officer (an inspector) who spoke on the condition of anonymity lamented on the negativity such attack would have on the morale of police officers. "If not that money is insulting someone I would have left this work, how can I leave my state only to be in somewhere that the people you are trying to protect do not want you?" The officer queried.

"Maybe the best thing is for all the policemen in Nigeria to quit their jobs so that the people would protect themselves, because it is clear that they don't want police protection." He condemned the attack on policemen nationwide, arguing that it was beginning to affect police morale.

Hon Innocent Esewezie, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area on Thursday held a meeting with the Leadership of Atuma-iga Kingdom led by the Obi of Atuma and the Fulani leaders in the state and LGA as he mediated between both parties to avoid a full blown farmers herders crisis in the LGA.

Speaking at the meeting which was held at the Council Secretariat Akwukwu-Igbo, the LGA boss encouraged both parties to remain committed to the peaceful resolution of the issue. He called on the leaders of the Herders to protect the farms from destruction because that was the only way to ensure peaceful coexistence.

He urged the Fulani leaders to make sure they bring back the culture of compensation that exist in their tradition, so as to help ease tension whenever straying cattles destroy a farmer's business. He advised that since both the farmer and the herder predominantly operate from the bushes, it is in their best interest to work together or their businesses would be affected by any crisis.

His Royal Majesty, Agbogidi Obi Chukwuka Daniel Ogbudo of Atuma-iga Kingdom, called for an immediate end to Herders going into farms with their cattles, or worst case, uprooting crops to feed cattles. He promised to work with the LGA Chairman on modalities to put an end to the problem so that it doesn't snowball into a full blown crisis. He thanked Hon Esewezie for his role so far since his people wrote to him and assured him if their continued support to his administration.

Alhaji Musa Mohammed, the leader of the Fulani in Delta State who had in his company the Delta North leader, Wakali Muhammed, said they were present at the meeting because they wanted peace. The leader who spoke in Hausa while the SSA to the Governor, Mr Mukhai Usman interpreted, promised to compensate those who lost their farms to straying cattles as long as they are informed about the incident. They committed to building a lasting solution to the issue.

In line with the proposed solution of the Delta State Government, the Honourable Chairman set up a Farmers Herders Committee with members drawn from Atuma-iga, Fulani leaders, security agents and the LGA Council. Members of the DSS, Police, Vigilante groups and youths leaders were also ably represented at the security meeting.
