PoliticsAPC, Buhari Not Committed To Actualization Of Not Too Young To Run Project - EAC by URep(op): 5:54am On Jul 26, 2021

...Says Okowa's Passion To Raise New Generation Of Leaders Commendable.

Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications and Convener, Coalition for Media Politics, Chief Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that the huge cost of prosecuting elections in Nigeria, negates legislation on "Not Too Young To Run" in Nigeria.

Speaking as a guest of Voice of Delta FM Radio in Asaba, Okowa's EAC said the only panacea to youth involvement in the electioneering process and be voted for; is for federal government through the National Assembly, to enact laws reducing cost of election funding while political parties on the other hand must of a necessity slash cost of procuring nomination forms.

He berated the national government of the All Progressives Congress, APC, under President Mohammadu Buhari, for paying lip service to the Not Too Young To Run project, noting that by raising cost of election expenses, it goes to show that interested youth seeking elective offices will have to be sponsored financially by wealthy political godfathers, who will in turn control affairs of government to earn huge return on political investments, to the detriment of the people.

Oghenesivbe posited that his boss, the governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, was the first governor in Nigeria, to appoint a youth, Hon Osssi Ovie Success, as political aide at the age of 23 years in 2015, saying that some governors subsequently emulated Okowa's initiative by appointing youth into public service.

"Okowa is very passionate about youth empowerment, raising future leaders through political participation, entrepreneurial skills development, political mentorship and counselling. This is commendable and I urge other leaders to emulate his leadership style and patriotic ingenuity.

"It is crystal clear that APC national government is paying lip service to the Not Too Young To Run project by raising cost of funding elections in Nigeria. It is anti Nigerian youth and must be condemned by all those who desire to see a great and prosperous nation-state.

"It does not make sense to enact laws which enables our youth to run for elective offices, and at the same time raise the cost of funding elections across board. Who does that?

"The ideal thing to do is to reduce cost and make the electoral process transparent to encourage our youth, not the other way round.

"The question is; how and where do government expect them to raise the hundreds of millions and billions of Naira to run? It's like giving something with the right hand, and taking it back with the left hand. Enough of politics of deception.

"It is very sad to recall that the same APC which promised CHANGE for the better in 2015, has become an embarrassing clog in the wheel of progress in our collective quest for advanced and civilized democracy in Nigeria. What a nation under APC and Buhari!

"Our youth are too docile, they must wake up from their slumber and question the rationale behind the increase of election funding in Nigeria. It is meant to relegate them to the back stage of leadership, power and influence.

"It appears that APC is taking Nigerians for granted, and have initiated and sponsored several anti people legislations tending to intringe on our fundamental rights enshrined in the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended, through the foreseeable enactments of obnoxious laws.

"The show of shame by the 9th Senate to take us back to the dark days of massive election rigging must be condemned. Election results should and must be transmitted electronically to INEC DataBase and Website. This is only window to substantially guarantee near transparency in our electoral processes.

"Senators who voted against electronic transmission of votes and results are the enemies of democracy in Nigeria, they are dictators in disguise. They should be voted out in 2023," Oghenesivbe said.

PoliticsThe Man Esewezie: Onye Chukwu Tere Nmanu by URep(op): 5:11am On Jul 26, 2021
21-07-2021

"Crucify him, crucify him," that was all the enemies of good shouted when Jesus was brought up for judgement. They seemed so happy to condemn an innocent man who did them no harm but only went about doing good. They were ignorant of the fact that Jesus was only going through the path that the Almighty God had set out for him and no matter how much they shouted and accused him, he was bound to fulfil what the Almighty Father wanted.

The above paragraph is proof that no one can harm the anointed; Onye Chukwu tere nmanu.
You will only try but in the long run you end up following him/her on the journey to their destiny.

Hon. Innocent Ifeanyichukwu Esewezie is neither a saint or Jesus Christ after all. No! He is not. But he is anointed by God and carries Grace which is the only virtue that can lead a man this far despite all the numerous tribulations thrown his way. Those challenges have been used by God to mould him into who and what he is today.

To the best of my knowledge, no politician in Oshimili North Local Government has received the amount of bad publicity given to Hon Esewezie.
Like the saying goes, "To kill a dog, first you give him a bad name" but they forget that the power of life belongs to God Almighty and no one, no matter how highly placed, can stop him from fulfilling the destiny God has set out for him because "Onye Chukwu tere nmanu Eze kor bu."

Ever since his early years in politics when he returned from Warri as a young graduate, his track record as a Councilor of Ward 5 endeared him to his people. His rising and intimidating political profile has made him become both an Asset and a Target.
He was falsely branded several unprintable and unpalatable names in cases he was grossly ignorant of until God's Grace spoke for him and he was cleared. Surprisingly, the accusers are yet to apologize for their errors except maybe tomorrow.

It only becomes clear when you get close to him why he is everyones target; his kindness, boldness, straightforwardness, sagacity and uprightness scares those who hate him to their wits. Unfounded fear by the ignorant ones about his true personality appears to be the reason for the continuous bad publicity. While those who were previously close to him hate his charisma and rising profile that some would describe him as overambitious. Who isn't politically ambitious? It is only a fool that will not be ambitious in life. But in all these, the man, Hon. Innocent Esewezie keep soaring higher than his peers and accusers.

His political modus operandi involves, largely, exposing the lapses in government and proffering solutions and remedies.

As a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor, Esewezie had numerous aides working with him. He is in the habit of exposing young people to the happenings in government.

As an Executive Assistant (EA) to Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State many thought he was a Commissioner because he opened up his office to the people, that is why people love him.

Ever since he emerged the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the LGA Primary Election and till date as the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North, there has been this very coordinated campaign of calumny against his person as they hope to run him down but God is not finished with him, not yet. They are obviously disappointed because while the old news was that "ONLGA Council was useless" or that "there is no money in the Council", he changed the narrative and proved that "if the Council is well managed and harnessed to its full potential, there is enough to do a lot for Ndi-Oshimili North".

In only about 4 months of his administration, he has broken records with gigantic projects ongoing all over the LGA (which is a story for another day). While in the past, only 2 or 3 youths are appointed because there was no money in the council, he has appointed over 40 of them as S.As, P.As, Community Liaison Officers, Consultants etc. There is no need trying to count those he has empowered and trained as Revenue officers because it would be in their hundreds. Oshimili North LGA is peaceful today because the youths are busy despite the problems surrounding the LGA both in Ogwashi-uku and Asaba axis.

Even the Bible was very clear when it was written in explicit terms: "touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm". Traditionally, our people would say: "Ochu nwa okuku nwe-ada, maka na nwa okuku nwe mbobo osor, to all those pursuing Hon. Innocent Ifeanyichukwu Esewezie, a great fall awaits you if you don't desist and retrace your steps. God is not done with him. Infact he has just started.

The emancipation of the people of Oshimili North from the old and evil order cannot be stopped by any man born of a woman. Nothing pass God and the Almighty will finish what he has started - Hon Ifeanyi-Chukwu, carry go.

* Comrade Chiedu Bandoh (PMP) - P.A. to the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North LGA on Media and ICT writes from Akwukwu-Igbo.

Politics2023: Attack On The Person Of Hie, An Exercise In Futility by URep(op): 6:18am On May 24, 2021
You don't need to be a keen observer of happenings in Oshimili North to notice that in recent times the social media space have been bombarded with coordinated attacks aimed at Hon Innocent Esewezie, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government. The perpetrators are not unknown, neither are their reasons Germaine.

Ever since Hon Innocent Esewezie emerged the candidate of the PDP, some persons who obviously are against the people who gave him overwhelming support during the polls have taken it upon themselves to monitor him and his speed of work. Suddenly anybody who hobnobs with the Chairman is tagged an enemy.

Criticism is not a bad thing, please don't get me wrong. But when people leave issues, factual issues and begin to throw jabs, insults, and abuse online, it makes you realize that these people might have deeper issues than made known. Vulgar words are boldly used in public space, same as unverifiable claims that are allegedly heard from rumours, or made up by the conspirators who dwell in high and ver low places.

Running for any Political Office is a fundamental right backed up by the constitution of the federal republic, and till date, it has not changed. HIE ran for Chairmanship position against the unpatriotic interests of the forces of bondage in PDP. Till date he has not been forgiven for running against the powers that be.

The forces that's in play are experts in the art of deception. First they started with cold war, soon after they upgraded to shadow fight. Currently, they are not hiding in the shadows anymore as they have concluded that come 2023, Federal might will be deployed to Oshimili North to cow the people into submission.

They have turned everyone else into enemies. If you are a friend of HIE, you become an enemy to them. No one is safe from their firing squad, not the governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, or House Minority Leader, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu. Even Barr. (Dr.) Princess Pat Ajudua have not been left out of the firing line for daring to support HIE during the last local government election.

But, one thing is certain, and that is "ochu nwa-okuku nwe-ada, Maka na nwa-okuku nwe mbobo osor." The people of Oshimili North LGA, wholeheartedly voted for Hon Innocent Ifeanyichukwu Esewezie because they craved a people's leadership, not proxy leadership. It is clear that all evil plans is dead on arrival because people are the resources of politics, not federal might. Anybody who tries to unsettle the peace currently in Oshimili North will only have himself to blame because karma knows their addresses.

To be forewarned is to be forearmed. If one man cooks for the community, they will always finish it, but when the community cooks for one man, it always ends in doom.

Politics"Anu-enu Or Anu-ani": Unsure Spon Still Undecided As Pdp Puts Its House In Order by URep(op): 11:22pm On May 23, 2021
It is about a week or so (or so it seems) since some followers of embattled Senator of the federal republic, Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi were suspended from the winning party in Delta State. Since then they have been droves of resignation letters flooding the social space.

A total of 8 or more known followers of SPON decamped to the All Progressive Congress (APC) sighting unfair hearing but it is not unexpected. Truth be told, their quiting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not news, no matter how they tried to make it seem. The signs have been all over the place, it was only a matter of when rather than if.

The only question on a lot of mouths today is when is Sen. Peter O. Nwaoboshi leaving the party? Because as it stands, even if he still remains in PDP - for now - it is clear that his interest lies somewhere else. There had been indications and pointers that he was on his way out of the party. First, his absence from the last PDP congress proved his lack of interest for party activities. SPON had already abandoned his party, he hardly attended his party's functions in his LGA and state as he hobnobbed with opposition at the national level for personal gains.

Also recall that the Senator went against his party's position by supporting Sen. Lawal as Senate President, after which he was compensated with the Chairman of NDDC position, in addition to that, it was alleged that all his corruption cases seems to have been forgiven by the APC led Federal Government. The straw that broke the camel's back was when Chief Elofu Dike his preferred choice for Oshimili North LGA Chairman lost out in the primary election and decamped soon after.

It did not end there, he continued to publicly show his disdain for his party by using APC members to execute his empowerment Programme. So many known members of PDP where denied said empowerment because it was being run by the opposition as they used his structure to build APC as against the interest of his party.

The good news is that PDP were swift in putting their house in order. The one month suspension issued to 5 followers of SPON was long overdue. It made it clear to everyone under the umbrella party that no one is above the laws of the party. You can not eat food with both hands just as you can not be APC at night and PDP during the day. It is important that PDP knows those who are for them, not those who pretend to be for them. Party decisions may not always favour everybody in the party, but the term "party is supreme" remains sacrosanct. The PDP leaders can not, and should not fold their hands and watch as some disgruntled few try to take down the party we all love from the inside.

Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi must decide fast where he belongs, because as he stands, he is neither of PDP or APC (even if the whole world knows he is more of APC than PDP). Sen. Nwaoboshi should decide fast because the clock is ticking, if he continues to maintain his deceitful position of being a faithful party man, then maybe he is not faithful to no one but himself and his personal interest. The party was supreme with him as PDP State Chairman, it remains supreme till date. One man can not be bigger than PDP.

HealthThe Covid-19 Border Enforcement Taskforce Sends Okada Riders Back by URep(op): 4:35pm On May 12, 2020
In a bid to fulfill the directive of his Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Covid-19 Border Enforcement Taskforce led by the Oshimili South LGA Coordinator, Hon. Innocent Esewezie turned back several Okada riders.

Many of the riders showed plenty of desperation in a bid to maneuver the security check mounted by the Covid-19 Border Enforcement Taskforce, while the members of the team were ruthless in Enforcement of the directive on interstate movement.

Many people could be seen trekking over long distance with many pedestrians complaining of the stress of walking long distance. Recall that the executive assistant to the Governor on Youth Development who doubles as the Coordinator, had previously said that the idea of the taskforce is to stop totally all non-essential vehicles from entering Delta State with the hope of protecting Deltans from the ravaging Covid-19 pandemic.

Photos: Kids Thrill Parents, Guests With Debate, Newscasting, Beauty Pageantry And Others As Isabella Memorial Int'l School Celebrates Graduation Party

The pupils and management of Isabella Memorial School, Ibusa, showed off why they are considered as one of the best schools in Delta State as the kids wowed their parents and guests with competitive debate, Beauty Pageantry, drama, cultural dance, choreography dance and newscasting.
The end of session party which was held at the hall in the school premises was filled to the brim as kids - dressed so brightly - were accompanied by their parents, guardians, relatives and friends.
One of the first presentations by the kids was the debate which focused on the topic: Father or mother - who plays a more important role in the family? The pupils pressed on their points in superb fashion as those present watched and cheered.
The kids presented a drama with a theme which focused on the boomerang of wickedness. There was also cultural dance, choreography dance and newscasting in what could only be described as a show of talent.
Parents where not left out of the groove either as the daddies and mummies participated in the dancing competition. Mr. Okechukwu John King defeated Mr. Jude Asem and other parents to emerge winner. This meant his kid would get 100% free books for the next term courtesy of the school management.
During an exclusive interview with Universal Reporter, Mr. Okechukwu expressed joy and thanked God for the opportunity the school had given to hundreds of children to undergo proper learning. He revealed that his child used to attend St Saviour School in Lagos where he was based with his family previously, but since the transfer to Isabella Memorial School Ibusa he has seen an upsurge in his child's performance.
In his words: "I thank the management of the school for giving me the award of best dancer."
"I advise other parents to register with a school like Isabella because they will get good value for the money they pay. If all the schools in Nigeria were of standard like Isabella Memorial school, then Education in Nigeria would be top-notch," he said.
In a related development, Mrs Nneka Asimonye, the mother of Chizzy-Lily Asimonye, the winner of Miss Isabella Memorial School Beauty pageantry, expressed joy in seeing her daughter emerging the most beautiful girl in the school describing it as a "prayer answered by God."
Explaining her choice of Isabella for her child she said, "Yes Isabella memorial school is a very good school. Though we stay in Asaba, I searched wide for a school that is good for my kids but the moment I stepped into this school compound my spirit accepted it, and immediately they started learning from this school I discovered a big difference from where they came from and where they are today."
Also, in a brief interview with the proprietress, Pastor Mrs Uju Ejedenawe on the inspiration behind the creation of this citadel of learning, she opined that "Isabella Memorial School Ibusa was actually my mother's vision, but when she passed away I had to take up the mandate and by his grace, u find out that academics is growing high and there are very few schools where good morals and academic standard is high, so I believe the Lord laid it in my heart as a vision to train up this children and make sure they are sound morally, academically and otherwise, that's the passion and the vision behind our success."
While also speaking on what makes Isabella Memorial School stand out, Pastor (Mrs) Uju said: Isabella's motor is "moving forward", we are not stagnant we keep bringing new ideas (innovations) yearly and that's why we are the pacesetters, for example we are the first that started practical computer in primary school in Ibusa and academically my teachers are well trained and they are qualified teachers, I don't go for O'Level holders that's why our standard is very high here, we teach moral value and above all Jesus is our rock".
"In Isabella we pray for the children we make sure the teachers are spiritually, academically and physically sound and the environment, there is no other like in ibusa and so many other benefits not mentioned," she concluded.

A lot of people will say exercise and that’s great. Living a healthy lifestyle is a good thing.

Usually there’re some other things besides that as well. Mat Apodaca says, "personally I like going to concerts as much as my schedule allows. The former drummer in me lives vicariously through concerts."

When you go on first dates, sometimes it can get awkward and you seem to choke on topics for discussion, what you do at your leisure or free time makes a good conversation.

And for a little addition, you may just find out that you have some things in common.

PoliticsEXCLUSIVE: Gov. Ayade Debunks Plan To Dump PDP For apc by URep(op): 9:33pm On Aug 07, 2018
Governor Ben Ayade, the executive Governor of Cross River State has vehemently refuted reports of him dumping his party, People Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressive Party (APC).

The erudite professor debunked such plan adding that he cannot pay back the party that gave him the opportunity to serve the people of Rivers with such gesture of ingratitude.

In his words: “I shall be disappointing some people by what I am about to say now. I am still a strong member of the People’s Democratic Party and I have no intention of defecting to any party. PDP gave me wings to fly as Governor of Cross River State. Therefore, I cannot afford to revisit the party with such gesture of ingratitude. Senator Liyel Imoke and I have perfected plans to enhance consummate victory for the party in the state.”

“My constant interaction with the president stems from the fact that he is the president of a country where I head a subsidiary unit, and not the president of a party. Hence, we must cooperate with him for the success of our country. After general elections, politics, in the national scheme, must be relegated to the back burner, while governance must be enthroned. Therefore, the only national party after elections is Nigeria. The entire record of history is quite consistent with the assumption that any society with distended politics, cannot differentiate between politics and governance. Such society is likely to back-pedal.”

“I cannot be at enmity with the president to proof some loyalty to my party; I must not be attacking the president because my party is at the opposition. Such tendencies are abhorrent to liberal democracy and must be avoided”.
