The Tale of Ejoke The virtuous Virgin Once upon a time in a small village in Nigeria, there lived a young woman named Ejoke. She was known for her captivating beauty and charming personality. However, what made Ejoke truly unique was her unwavering commitment to remain a virgin until marriage. Throughout her teenage years, Ejoke had seen many of her friends and peers indulging in promiscuous activities. But she always remained resolute in her decision, guided by her traditional values and the belief that her body was sacred and meant to be shared only with her future husband. Ejoke's family and friends admired her for upholding her principles in a society where pre-marital sex was becoming increasingly common. They often encouraged her to stay strong and patiently wait for the right man who would cherish and respect her wishes. One day, Ejoke met Rukevwe, a kind-hearted young man with a strong sense of morality and a deep-rooted love for his culture. He was captivated by Ejoke's beauty but even more so by her unwavering commitment to her values. Rukevwe believed that true love transcended physical desires and was thrilled to have found someone who shared his vision for a pure and meaningful relationship. The more Ejoke and Rukevwe spent time together, the stronger their bond grew. They shared their dreams, aspirations, and even their struggles. Rukevwe admired Ejoke's strength and integrity, while Ejoke cherished Rukevwe's respect and understanding for her choice. After years of courtship and building a firm foundation of trust and love, Ejoke and Rukevwe decided to take their relationship to the next level. On a beautiful sunny day, with their families and friends gathered around, they exchanged their vows and became husband and wife. Their wedding was filled with joy and happiness, as their loved ones celebrated their union and the triumph of love that transcended societal norms. Ejoke and Rukevwe embarked on their married life as a team, committed to upholding the values they cherished deeply. As time went by, Ejoke and Rukevwe's love continued to grow, strengthened by the foundation of respect, trust, and shared ideals. Their marriage was built on a rock-solid commitment that went beyond physical intimacy, focusing on emotional connection, companionship, and mutual support. Ejoke's decision to remain a virgin until marriage not only brought her closer to Rukevwe but also served as an inspiration to many young people in their community. Her story spread far and wide, encouraging others to hold onto their values, stand firm in their beliefs, and wait for love that respects their boundaries. Ejoke and Rukevwe lived a long and fulfilling life together, spreading love, respect, and the belief that true love knows no boundaries. Their story became a legend, reminding everyone that the true essence of love lies in the purity of the heart, not in the physical desires. And so, the tale of Ejoke, the virtuous virgin, and Rukevwe, the man who cherished her purity and virtue, became an emblem of love's triumph over societal pressures and a timeless reminder that true love can withstand the test of time. In the small village of Eku, nestled in the heart of Nigeria, there lived a young man named Uvo. Uvo was known far and wide for his extraordinary strength and power. His brawn was unmatched, and many revered him as a godly figure. On the other side of the village lived a young woman named Aso. Aso was renowned for her unparalleled beauty and charm. Her radiant smile could light up a room, and her presence was enough to captivate hearts. One fateful day, as Uvo was venturing near the river, he caught a glimpse of a woman unlike any he had ever seen before. It was Aso, her long flowing hair dancing in the wind, and her eyes sparkling like gemstones. Uvo was immediately enchanted by her beauty. Uvo approached Aso with caution, unsure of how his immense strength would be received by such a delicate creature. He soon realized, however, that Aso held an equal power within her. Her grace and kindness were a force to be reckoned with. As they spent more time together, Uvo and Aso discovered that their strengths and abilities complemented each other in perfect harmony. Uvo's strength provided protection and stability, while Aso's beauty and love brought warmth and tenderness to their relationship. Their godly relationship deeply influenced the village of Eku. People flocked to them, seeking guidance and solace in their union. Uvo and Aso became the epitome of love and unity, inspiring others to embrace the power of balance and respect in their own relationships. As the years passed, Uvo and Aso remained inseparable, their love growing stronger with each passing day. Their bond became a symbol of hope for the villagers, reminding them that true strength lay in the embrace of vulnerability and the recognition of their shared humanity. Even in the face of challenges and hardships, Uvo and Aso stood tall, their love unwavering. Their godly relationship in Eku became a legend, passed down through generations, a reminder to all that strength and beauty are not separate entities but intertwined forces that can create miracles. And so, Uvo and Aso's love story continues to inspire the hearts of those in Eku, reminding them of the power of a godly relationship founded on respect, balance, and unconditional love. IT IS ONLY 24 YEARS AGO Some time ago our Uvwie brother Pleasure Edu gave a history of Ugbolokposo village an Itsekiri settlement in Uvwie local Government. Because his story was not backed with any documentary evidence, I took the story with a Pinch of salt, a mere "hearsay", based on oral Tradition. However last week, the Erudite Urhobo historian Michael O. Dedon gave a detailed account of the same Ugbolokposo HISTORY in our Urhobo Cultural group page Amakashe R'urhobo kingdom, here on Facebook. Michael Dedon too also relied on oral Tradition, but he told the story in such away that it now looks credible. According to them the Original name of Ugbolokposo was Ugbenuoworu, and not Ugbolokposo. That the Itsekiris themselves Changed the name of the Community after they won a Supreme court case in 1995. This morning as I was going through my archives to research on the TERRITORIES, the Olu of Warri is given by law to rule over in Warri city, so that when we want to rename our TERRITORIES, there will not be any clash or crisis, I stumbled at this information from this Gazette that created Okpe LGA in 1980. So as at 1980, Ugbolokposo was actually known as Ugbenuoworu. 1980 was just 41 years ago. In 1997, the Itsekiris narrowly won their Ugbolokposo settlement from their Uvwie Landlords, based on Legal Technicalities based on the Delineation Chief Dore did in 1926, when he separated them from Effurun as a Distinct Community of her own. Before then they were Tenants to the Uvwie people. The Itsekiris lost at the high Court. They also lost at the appeal court. But surprisingly our Supreme Court derailed from the concurrent decisions of both lower courts and gave them victory using a mere artificial Colonial boundary used by the Itsekiri Chief Dore Numa (which even the Itsekiri Prince and Author William Moore described as a usurper, land Grabber e.t.c). And so in 1997, the Itsekiris of Ugbenuoworu,( Uvwie), Changed the name of their Community to Ugbolokposo, Warri, even though they are still in Uvwie LGA. In fact they are now advocating that our Fupre in Ugbomro is in Ugbolokposo land, and so Fupre be named Ugbolokposo ( just imagine). Otuedon Yemi can witness this to us. Now from 1997-2021 is just 24 years, In just 24 years, the name Ugbenuoworu had gone into Oblivion. Now take note. They didn't do any Advocacy, they quietly Changed the names themselves, after that they wrote to both the Local Government and state Government. There was no Threat, no fight , no Press War. I have told you guys that the Itsekiris know what to do and are always ahead of you. Okere Urhobo had a Judgement in 1976, that the Kingdom Founded by Ginuwa ( Warri Kingdom) did not extend to Okere. Yet Okere was a Part of a City called Warri, so why not reject that name in compliance with that Supreme Court Judgement. In 1998, the Delta state Government created a Kingdom for the Agbarha Urhobo in Warri city. The Title was Ovie of Agbarha. Meanwhile another king in that same Gazette with equal Powers as the Ovie of Agbarha was given the Olu of Warri title. So it means that by that Gazette, Agbarha Kingdom traditionally is not Warri, but only Politically in Warri South. Why not reject the name Warri then and give a new name to yourself to reflect your identity?? But iniovo me of Agbarha and Okere Urhobo....it is not do late. Do it now.. You are Wado People... Agbarha Wadoooo OKERE URHOBO Wadooooo Help us to help you... Change your name and in 24 years too Warri will go into oblivion as we use Uvwie, Udu, Okpe and Agbarho which are now contingous with your TERRITORIES to market the new name WADO CITY for you. Urhobo Wadooooo. By Dr Ejiro Imuere
