As coin price increase or its the market cap increase, the volatility tends to reduce to some extends. Check the top 10 coins on coinmarketcap, you will notice that they don't change much. Those coins are good for borrowing money from platform because you know it will be very very hard for them to just drop up to 50% in a day. You cannot use those coins to make fast money.

So if you are looking for fast money, trade meme coins but note that those coins can send you back to village in a twinkle of an eye.

Whether Trump wins or loses, BTC will not end above 100k this year, nor will it end below 50k. In a nutshell, it is trading at $68,350+ at the moment. Whichever way it goes (pump or dump), it will not cost more than 40% of the current price.

Personally, I think Future Trading is not a gamble. It is just like Spot Trading. When you remove the "Get rich quick" mentality and start trading with a business mindset, your disappointment will be reduced.

Look at it this way: if banks with all the money they have can only give you 7 to 12% ROI in a year, this should tell you that they are trying to minimize the risk to the minimum. Let your target be 20% to 50% in a year when trading futures. With this mindset, you will think like a business person rather than a gambler.

I learnt it the hard way after taking different losses, including the one that nearly sent me back to the village. I went back to the drawing board and updated my bot. I no longer try to make money, which will take me 5 years in just 1 month. I started thinking about the long term. I removed all the noises (altcoins) and focused on only BTC and ETH.

Below is one of the bot's trading since I modified my thinking (August 06 2024). You can check on 5th August 2024. That was the dip that reset my thinking. I assigned $500 to the bot, which it has been trading with it. From the calculation, the return is like 10% per month. The return might not be much, but it gives me peace of mind.

Choose the one (Future or Spot) that suits you and trade cautiously. I prefer Future Trading because of the flexibility it gives.

Will history repeat itself?

Let’s check Eth price and performance over the years
1. October 2015 eth price was 0.92$
2. October 2016 eth price was 2.31$
3. October 2017 eth price was 305.88$
4. October 2018 eth price was 197.38$
5. October 2019 eth price was 183.98$
6. October 2020 eth price was 386.59$
7. October 2021 eth price was 4288.07$
8. October 2022 eth price was 1572.71$
9. October 2023 eth price was 1816.46$
10. October 2024 eth price is currently 2456.02$

11. My prediction for eth come 2025 October is
27282$, at worst 13282$.. eth will hit 5-figure come next year Oct ..🌝
The chance of Eth reaching $27,282 by October 2025 is less than 5%. The chance of it reaching $13,282 is less than 20%. Those top 10 coins on Coinmarketcap, hitting 5x before October 2025, will be a miracle.

Forget about their history. In the earlier days, most countries were not strict with crypto. There are not many Crypto bans by countries. People have not lost much compared to what we see today. There are a few shitcoins that suck liquidities. Most people were entering into Crypto. Most of us here started trading on average from 2015 to 2020.

At the start of this year, every Crypto news channel kept shouting, "2024 will be the mother of all bull run". You would expect that BTC will be at least 90k at worst by now. Most of them have started shifting the goal post to next year without any reasonable reason. My take is that, with time, top coins won't be that volatile. Their movement will be like the stock market.

Unless there is significant positive news like, say, the USA started accepting Bitcoin as legal tender just like El Salvador or China lifting restrictions on Crypto, or companies like Paypal, Amazon, eBay, etc. start accepting Bitcoin, it will be hard for it to move at the rate they use to move in their early days.

So if you want to hit it big, shitcoin can still do the trick (if you are trading Spot), but remember your money might evaporate in the thin air. If you want peace of mind, trade only the top 5 to 10 coins on Coinmarket.

I hope you are using a computer. I mostly use a computer. First, visit www.bybit.com/trade/usdt/BTCUSDT and then click on the settings, which is the first picture. It will display what you see in the second picture when you click on it. Click the "Position Mode" and it will open a dialogue box as you can see on the third picture.

If you are using "One-Way Mode", change it to Hedge mode and make sure that you apply it to all USDT. Click Confirm and you are good to go.

Investment › Re: Crypto Currency Investors Thread by Usdtstaking:

That's because it's been programmed to do likewise (I meant altcoins).

Question: How fast can you sell a coin when you see BTC fall in price?

Can you do it manually or a programmed bot or script will be do it for you.

Who are those selling the most on altcoins when BTC price falls? Project creators or normal investors?

Final question: Why is it that despite BTC price falling badly sometimes, some few tokens' price just remain constant or don't give a shit...?

Discuss everyone...
You need to be running some supercomputer to achieve that. Even with that, it will be very hard since you still need to get information from platforms or crypto websites before you can decide whether to buy or sell. For example, if BTC dips sharply and you depend on Binance API to give you the information, the dip will have already occurred before Binance API sends the update to you. Whatever you did with the information received from the API is secondary.

For this question, Who are those selling the most on altcoins when the BTC price falls?, I used to wonder how those people could sell/buy so fast until I came across an article that somehow made sense to me. According to the article, any time there is a lot of sales due to dip or rise, it is not people selling or buying. It is liquidation happening right there. Exchanges are just liquidating people. They are just closing orders, which looks like people are doing that.

So, if you plan to buy or sell fast, I suggest you use a script. When using a script, since speed is important to you, consider using WebSocket since it gives you updates instantly. Then, your script can do whatever you want it to do based on the update it receive from the Websocket.

I realized in 2021 that being more interested in shorting the market, even though you're in a spot position, generates more money and gives you more peace of mind. Even in a bullrun, the market spends more time going down than going up.

When it wants to go up, it spikes and does it without hesitation, then spends weeks or months consolidating while going down, then spikes again on the upside. This is to frustrate the bulls.

So, it's best to build your strategy praying for the market to go down than up in a bullrun. This can only be achieved if you're into futures.

Without futures, you'll be frustrated in the market because you're one-directional, except the money you're playing with is not meant for an important project.

With futures, you'll still be frustrated, if not more, when you over-leverage without a plan and lots of backups.

There was this shorting strategy I was using, but didn't know it's an old strategy called Martingale. I thought I had invented something new.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4KY_TV4j-U?si=0ciwPVZmQ7T1C8TB
Now I understand that what works for Mr A might not work for Mr B. 99% of my liquidation in my early days was caused by SHORTING the market. I have more peace of mind when the market is Bearish than Bullish. Here is my reason

Supposing you are LONGING SOL when its price was $200, and all of a sudden, it starts dipping. You are 100% sure that SOL can not dip by 100% because 100% of the current price($200) means that SOL will become $0. That is almost impossible unless something is wrong with the SOL. This gives you enough room to strategize your DCA. You can even add more liquidity to your portfolio because you are unafraid.

But you see, SHORTING the market, that one can cause a heart attack. You might enter the market at $10, and that coin might increase by over 500 to 1000 per cent. This makes it very difficult for DCA. You cannot predict when to start using DCA because if you enter the wrong time, that is more wahala to dead body.

I have to admit that you get mind to appreciate "SHORTING" to "LONGING".

grin you can DCA for the rest of your life without it making back up
It depends on how you see it. If you plan to make a profit, it does not need to make it back up before you can make a profit. E.g if you purchase $10 worth of BTC at the price of $70k and another $10 worth of BTC at the cost of $65k, automatically, I will be on profit at the price of $68k. I do not need to wait for the price to hit $70k. Just pray that the coins don't go the way of LUNA or FTT.

That is where DCA (Dollar Cost Average) comes in. You can still sell at a profit if you start implementing DCA. Your bags don't need to make it back up.

Those of you who were planning to buy Mercedes-Benz GLK from crypto pump this year...how market? grin

Even all the so-called crypto experts are confused.

Crypto is a Ponzi Scheme, know the truth and the truth shall set you free!
Calling Crypto a Ponzi scheme is not true. There is no doubt that there is a lot of manipulation going on in the crypto world, but it is unfair if you believe that crypto is a Ponzi scheme but believe that Forex and Stock trading are not. The same manipulation happening in Crypto can also be found in stock and forex trading.

Please tell me the difference between these two.

A.) A company start trading on Stock exchanges. They hype their name and brand. Within two years, business went sour. The company's stock value plummets, thereby leaving creditors with worthless shares. The value of the share is nothing to write home about. The company's managers pat themselves on the back and start looking/working on a different project or company as if nothing had happened. Remember, because they are insiders, they will likely have sold their shares and jumped the ship.

B.) The same scenario, but now the company has a coin (Crypto). They hype their project, and people start buying. Less than two years, the same shit happen, and they move on, thereby leaving investors/creditors with worthless coins. They move on with their life as if nothing had happened.

Now tell me what the difference is between the two.

I believe Forex, Crypto, and Stock trading are all the same. Just pick the one you want and learn. There is risk involved. Your goal is to make something out of it.

With this starting capital, you suppose Dey target 100$ daily nah…
That capital does not mean that I am using it for trade. It is just there to avoid sudden liquidation due to the sudden increase/decrease of a coin without your notice. Provided that there is enough balance in the vault, liquidation is least of my worries.

If you are asking how much I use when opening a trade, it is between $1 to $50. Everything depends on the coin, time, volatility, and other things. Before I used to trade like there is no tomorrow. The risk is much, so is the gain that comes with it. I can go into a trade with nothing less than $100 dollar. At some point, I realized that the gains does not worth the risk with the HBP it causes you.

Right now, I just trade for tomorrow. There is no reason to rush. I have my maximum peace of mind. No more HBP/Risk trading. That is the reason the profit is not much but it is ok.
