ajealadick: Who will he defile her for before. Let him marry her and live with his crime. His pride will be hurt knowing his friends has slept with his wife too. More concerned by rapist's pride than a victimised child wellbeing. Satan, stop pretending to be human and pack back to hell! |

nduchucks: I can see that most of the critics here appear to be Christians.
While my opinion on this is currently reserved, I make bold to say that the so-called Christians who are condemning this man and the alleged rapists, that you are hypocrites and are not following the teachings of Jesus.
Jesus preaches forgiveness and he even forgave you people for killing him, you are well-advised to practice your religion properly. Many of you appear to be bigots who look for any opportunity to exhibit your religious bigotry. Im agnostic and I do believe that most here are indeed hypocrites. That said, it is beyond disgusting of you to even attempt to equate what the father did here with forgiveness as taught by Jesus. It is repugnant and dishonest. The daughter was raped and not the father! So it is up to her to forgive or not and she is too young and it has been too early for her to decide. Everything done from the moment of her assault has been to her detriment, so screw off with forgiveness. Moreover, never has Jesus opposed forginess with justice for the weakest like this young girl. |

deavicky: don't blame the father, once a girl is raped in the north she hadly get married so who should blamed then? who gave her hand as a CHILD in marriage to a gang-rapist? who? so because everybody is dwelling in fukery, he should not be blamed for condamned his child to a life of misery instead of seeking justice for her? |

bobchigar: ...so you are ready to marry raped You are really a filthy, clueless, amoral savage!!! The North of Nigeria is decadant and drenched in backwardness thanks to your kind. The fact that you would shame and stimatise a CHILD for falling victim of so much wickedness makes me wonder if you even have a soul. Rape victims get married EVERY DAY because thank goodness, many people know that the shame and stigma of rape should be placed on the rapist and said rapists are persecuted and punished and not rewarded by marrying their victims. Swine! |

PvtParts: Buhari is an embarrassment to all sane Nigerians.
This same man that has a checkered past as an incompetent and corrupt minister of Petroluem and the most despotic head of state who defended his overthrowing of a civillian elected government on the basis that it was "koworpt" and will later serve under his junior Abacha defending that regime as non corrupt is now being recycled by a party with the likes of a certificate forger, convicted money laundry with ties to drug peddling and trafficking as king maker?
This generation is cursed!
! i hate Jonathan but you spoke nothing but the truth! Instead of siding with either one, people should ask themselves why in a 'democratic' country their choice of leadership is so limited. GEJ vs GMB is akin to choosing between the plague and Ebola. The political elite in both parties is the real threat to democracy and is only interested in promoting its interests to the detriment of the Nigerian people. Shame! |

dorox: The farm was made with money people donated for the propagation of the gospel that he appropriated to himself. This kind of greed and dishonesty should be condemned irrespective of the person doing it, be it an imam or a pastor. It is pure theft from the willing and gullible faithfuls. at the very least, I hope he still has enough decency to pay his fair share of tax from income earned through the farm instead of laudering through the church as some do. Goodness, this is worst than what I thought! 0_o |

100Cents: So he is greedy for being a pastor and owning a farm ?
Hating must be a career for some people. If you see someone having something you desire to have, rejoice with him and ask God to open doors for you. You should get on your knees and ask God two things: First of all, manners. I was busy talking to a specific person about a specific comment the specific person made before you deemed it fit, in the name of I dont know what, to but (sp) in our exchange to make your clueless and vapid 'point'. Secondly, critical thinking. Because had you had any, you would not have felt threatened by someone else expressing a critical opinion on something as important as feeding people to the point of resorting to the lamest and most pathetic ad hominem ever i.e. 'hater' ... in 2015 !!!! Finally, anyone who makes of agriculture a 'money making/spinning activity' before a 'people feeding' one is greedy and endangering lives, I wont repeat myself further. I dont know the specific motives of this pastor to comment on them but the current trend of big investors turning to agriculture for productivist, speculative ends has been disastrous. HAPPY NEW YEAR ! |

Precious91: ts not about greed.Tell me you want to do any business in your life without profit. i would like to get into why what u said is problematic but im bbeing sooooo lazy right now, shame on me!! :-( anyways, activities that pertains to feeding the world should NEVER be 'money spinning' activities. NEVER, that would be endangering the lives since putting profits first always come at the cost of the collective welfare. just google landgrabbing, food prices speculation and famine or agrobusiness lobbying and obesity n see for yourself. there is a difference between being economically sustainable and beeing greedy. |

Morkavictor: Mr man the UN has no right to interfer in our affairs, and don't just assume the soilders are not properly equipped. ummm nope :-/ you must have missed this part: " Imposition of mass death sentences is in breach of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, to which Nigeria is a party. This Covenant limits the circumstances in which a state can impose the death sentence." the UN has every right to intervene based on this alone. Two things are sure anyway: 1) Nigerian judiciary system and army are a joke 2) The UN are still an agent of western imperialism - the US have been pretty much sending black men in mass to the death row n nobody has said shiitt about that on the global political scene. That said, none of these soldiers deserve death for 'mutiny'. This is in gross violation of their human rights and such totalitarian-like sentence wont resolve the boko haram issue - it may even worsen it by demotivating troops on ground who already feel not supported |

The issue here is:
Are most of you truly concerned with women's rights or simply looking for an opportunity to voice your bigotry?
I will go for the second option :/
This forum is full of disgustingly misogynistic people who would advocate for rape or any other form of violence against women as their cultural and traditional rights yet jump on any opportunity to trash muslims n northerners for doing the exact same things.
That said, I disprove of such power and age differencial in (what seems to be an arranged) marriage in already patriarchal societies. Geez just a child with an old man with already 3 wives! YUCK!
But the HYPOCRITES here need to stop it ! |

Just so u know hun, the US gave us the Talibans and Ben Laden who were their big allies during the cold war. Groups like ISIL are just heirs of AlQaeda - founded by America's former ally Osama Ben Laden - not only that, their emergence was made possible by the state of total chaos in the region that followed the illegal war waged by Bush's government against Iraq. Islamist groups in Lybia also sprung up after western 'interventions'. NATO even rallied with them in Lybia to bomb a town of about in southern Lybia of about 30000 people that were mostly black. I wont even go into Syria. Please dont make such misinformed claims that further American and western imperialism, brutality and impunity ;-) |
Phones › Re: 6 Things You Should Know Before Buying A Mobile Phone by username792: 1:49pm On Jan 04, 2015 |
liljboy: . These days, the power and functionality in a palm-sized smartphone would have taken up an entire storage room in the 1960's. Today, your cell phone is a constant companion, a pocket- sized link to the news, entertainment and social circles that color your world. It's your office assistant, your bank, your game, your book, your radio, your music player, your source of entertainment, your bible, your qu'ran, your weight loss monitor and so much more. That's why it's so important to find the right mobile phone that best fits your needs. At BambooNaija, we focus on making sure you take informed decisions and as such have created a buying guide to advice you on the things to consider before buying a mobile phone.
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
1. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO USE IT FOR?
Do you want to use your phone just to make calls and receive calls? Or do you need your phone to send text messages only? Alternatively, do you want to use your cellphone to take pictures? Browse the internet?
The thing with smartphone technology these days is that there are so many phones in the market and they are all the 'best' at one thing or the other. Some phones have the best cameras, the best internet browsers etc. In choosing your mobile phone, focus on what you want to use it for. If you understand exactly what skills and capabilities you'd like to see in your new phone, it'll help you avoid paying too much for features you don't want or need.
For a good balance, we like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, Huawei Ascend Mate 2, Nokia Lumia 1520. For iPhone loyalists, consider the iPhone 6 Plus. For monetary considerations try the Tecno Phantom Z and the Blackberry Z3.
2. WHAT'S THE BATTERY LIFE?
With many smartphones having dual-core, quad- core (hardcore any time soon?) processors and big screens, smartphones have never been more powerful–or more power hungry. Yes, specs and apps matter, but what good are they if you’re looking for a charger by midday?
One way to tell how much battery life your smartphone will provide on a charge is to take a look at the battery capacity. Typical phone batteries start in the neighborhood of 1,700mAh and go all the way up to 3,500mAh. Generally, the closer you get to 3,000 mAh (milliamp hours) — or above the better. In The Laptop Mag battery test, the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 topped the list and lasted for 14 hours and 43 minutes. Other phones that put up a good showing in the test include the Sony Xperia Z3 (12 hours , 9 minutes), Nokia Lumia 1520 (11hours, 28 minutes), Samsung Galaxy S5 (10 hours, 50 minutes), HTC One M8 (10 hours, 50 minutes), and Apple iPhone 6 Plus (10 hours).
3. DOES SIZE MATTER?
All pun intended. Big-screen phones are growing on shoppers. In fact, phablets (phones with displays 5 inches or larger) now account for about 20% of all smartphones sold in the Nigerian market. Bigger phone screens give you a lot more real estate for watching movies, playing games and enjoying photos. The trade-off is that the phone isn’t easy to operate with one hand, tends to be heavier and can be a tight fit for front pockets.
Large (Over 5.1-inches): So-called "phablets" (phone + tablets) have bigger screens, which provide a generous viewing area and easier on-screen typing. But they can be bulky. Standard Size (4.5 to 5.1 inches): The mainstream size for flagship phones like the Galaxy S5, Nokia Lumia and HTC One. Compact Size (Below 4.5 inches): Many phones, including the 4-inch iPhone and the 4.3-inch HTC One Mini provide smaller, more pocket-friendly form factors.
4.WHAT OPERATING SYSTEM SHOULD YOU USE?
If you're buying a smartphone, the operating system can make a big difference in how you use your device. At the moment there are four major operating systems vying for your attention. Here's a brief overview of what each one has to offer.
Android Open source platform that allows third-party developers to create apps and tools Designed as a consumer- and social network-centric platform Easy to customize to match your needs and tastes Over a million apps available via the Google Play store
Apple iOS Integrates iTunes app and Safari mobile Web browser The same technology powers all Apple devices for seamless communication between Apple devices Thousands of officially approved apps available via the App Store.
BlackBerry Created for business users for easy access to e-mail and text messaging Updated BlackBerry 10 operating system creates a more interactive, user-friendly experience Ideal for international use
Windows Phone Personalized, user-friendly experience that communicates seamlessly with Microsoft computers and other devices Easily customizable touch-screen interface SkyDrive app allows easy management of documents, photos and videos
CAMERA
A phone's camera depends on a whole host of variables. Though you might think that more megapixels is better, that's not always the case. You can get sharper images from a 5-megapixel camera than from an 8-megapixel shooter, so it's better to concentrate on other specs such as the quality of the lens as well as the camera sensor.
STORAGE & EXPANSION
Given that you’ll store everything from photos and music to videos and apps on your smartphone, opt for as much internal memory and upgradable memory as you can. We recommend you choose a device that has a microSD card slot.
