My older passport is due to expire in april next year and I had to get a new one cos I'll be traveling in January. The immigration officer that helped me said that since there wasn't a visa on the old one there was no point canceling it. I don't know much about these things so I didn't press him to cancel it cos I thought it was normal. I submitted my documents and the British embassy last week and the girl there was surprised that I had two valid passports. At that point it was too late to cancel at the immigration office so I had to submit it as it was. I just want to know if this hurts my chances at getting a visa
