PoliticsObi Of Lagos: FOSAD Supports Southeast Traditional Rulers, Calls For Arrest Of I by uzorathena(op): 8:22pm On Sep 12, 2025
The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) has expressed its full support for the recent position of Southeast traditional rulers condemning the unlawful practice of individuals styling themselves as “Eze Ndigbo” or “Obi” in cities outside Igbo land.

In a statement jointly signed by Dr. Stephen Nwala, President of FOSAD, and Dr. Uzor Ngoladi, Secretary General, the forum described the practice as a distortion of Igbo cultural heritage and a deliberate affront to the authority of legitimate traditional institutions in Igbo land.

According to the group, traditional rulership within the Igbo cultural space is deeply rooted in ancestral authority, community consent, and historical continuity. It therefore cannot be replicated or assumed arbitrarily by individuals in diaspora communities for personal gain, social status, or political influence.

“This trend of self-styled ‘Eze Ndigbo’ or ‘Obi of Ndigbo’ in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, and other parts of Nigeria is a clear misrepresentation of Igbo tradition,” the statement read. “Such practices not only confuse the younger generation but also diminish the dignity of authentic royal institutions in the Southeast.”

FOSAD urged the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to enforce the resolutions of Igbo traditional rulers by arresting and prosecuting individuals who parade themselves under such false titles. It emphasized that respect for cultural institutions is essential for national harmony, and no ethnic group should permit distortions of its heritage outside its homeland.

The forum noted that while the Igbo community thrives in various parts of Nigeria and the world and contributes significantly to economic development, representation of Ndigbo in host communities should be through town unions, cultural associations, and duly constituted leadership structures, not through illegitimate coronations.

“True leadership among the Igbo in diaspora is earned through service, integrity, and accountability, not by purchasing titles or assuming crowns that do not exist outside Igbo land,” the forum stated.

FOSAD reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the cultural integrity of the Southeast and called on all Igbo sons and daughters to uphold the values of their forebears. It further appealed to state governments in the Southeast to continue working with royal fathers in preserving and promoting the dignity of authentic traditional institutions.

“The position of our revered traditional rulers is non-negotiable,” the statement concluded. “FOSAD stands firmly with them in preserving the sanctity of Igbo culture and calls on security agencies to put an immediate stop to this illegality.”

PoliticsFOSAD Tasks EFCC To Thoroughly Investigate The N5.7 Billion Sujimoto-enugu Smart by uzorathena(op): 10:16pm On Sep 08, 2025
The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to immediately commence a thorough investigation into the alleged ₦5.7 billion contract scandal involving Sujimoto Luxury Construction Company and the Enugu State Government’s Smart School project.

In a statement signed by Dr. Stephen Nwala, President of FOSAD, and Dr. Uzor Ngoladi, Secretary General, the forum expressed deep concern over the reports suggesting massive irregularities in the award and execution of the project.
According to FOSAD, the Smart School initiative, which was conceived to enhance digital literacy and modernize learning infrastructure in Enugu State, has instead been enmeshed in allegations of inflated contracts, poor accountability, and questionable implementation.

“This is a matter of grave importance, not just to Enugu State but to Nigeria at large,” the statement read. “The education sector cannot continue to suffer from corruption and mismanagement, especially when billions of naira meant for the future of our children are allegedly diverted or misapplied. The EFCC must act swiftly, transparently, and without bias to investigate this scandal and ensure that all culpable individuals and corporate entities are brought to justice.”

A Call for Transparency and Accountability
FOSAD emphasized that public trust in government projects rests on transparency and prudent use of resources. It noted that if the allegations against Sujimoto Luxury Construction Company and their collaborators within government are proven, it would amount to a betrayal of public trust and an assault on the educational aspirations of children in Enugu State.
“Every kobo earmarked for the Smart School project was meant to provide 21st-century learning opportunities for pupils. To mismanage or misappropriate such funds is to rob young people of their right to quality education and technological advancement,” the forum declared.
FOSAD urged the EFCC to pursue its investigation without succumbing to political influence or corporate lobbying, stressing that the Nigerian public deserves clarity and justice. It further called on civil society organizations, the media, and educational stakeholders to remain vigilant and demand accountability at all levels.

Education Must Not Be Compromised
The forum reiterated its longstanding position that education is the bedrock of sustainable national development and must be insulated from corruption, mismanagement, and opportunism. It warned that scandals of this magnitude could erode confidence in public-private partnerships and discourage genuine investors from engaging in educational development projects.
“The Smart School project was supposed to be a model of innovation and progress. Instead, it risks becoming a monument of corruption if the allegations are not thoroughly investigated and addressed,” the statement warned.
FOSAD therefore tasks the EFCC to deploy all necessary investigative mechanisms to unravel the truth behind the ₦5.7 billion contract scandal. If found guilty, both the corporate actors and complicit government officials must face the full weight of the law.
“Accountability is non-negotiable,” the forum concluded. “The future of our children and the integrity of Nigeria’s education sector are too important to be sacrificed on the altar of corruption.”

PoliticsFOSAD Commends Prof. B.T.O Ikegwuoha For Prompt Release Of Common Entrance Exami by uzorathena(op): 10:00am On Sep 07, 2025
Press Release

FOSAD Commends Prof. B.T.O Ikegwuoha for Prompt Release of Common Entrance Examination Results, Urges Swift Distribution of Online Curriculum[/b]

The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) commends the Hon. Commissioner for Primary and Secondary Education, Imo State, Prof. B.T.O Ikegwuoha, for his outstanding leadership in the prompt release of the 2025 Universal Basic Education General Placement Test (Common Entrance Examination) results.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in the education sector of Imo State, being the first time in five years that such results are released before the commencement of a new academic session. It reflects not only efficiency in administration but also a deep commitment to ensuring that learners, teachers, and schools are adequately prepared for the 2025/2026 academic year.
FOSAD recognizes that the timely release of results brings confidence to parents, learners, and educators who have often faced anxiety and disruption in previous years due to delays. By making the results available ahead of resumption, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (MOPSE) has set a new benchmark in accountability, transparency, and service delivery.
We particularly commend the clear directives given to Head Teachers, Principals, and Zonal Directors regarding the collection of placement cards, which will facilitate smooth admission processes into Junior Secondary Schools across the state. This level of proactive planning ensures that learners can begin the new session without unnecessary administrative setbacks.

Curriculum Implementation and Next Steps
While applauding this laudable stride, FOSAD urges Prof. Ikegwuoha and MOPSE to fast-track the distribution of the online edition of the newly developed curriculum. It is imperative that teachers, head teachers, and principals have early access to this material to adequately digest its content, understand the structural changes, and strategically plan for its effective implementation.
As the custodians of learning at the foundational level, educators require sufficient time to study the curriculum, align lesson plans, and integrate innovative methods for classroom delivery. A delayed distribution of the online curriculum could undermine the gains achieved through the timely release of examination results. Therefore, we call for a robust dissemination strategy, leveraging digital platforms, training workshops, and zonal meetings, to ensure all stakeholders are well-equipped ahead of resumption.

FOSAD’s Position on Educational Excellence
The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors firmly believes that education is the bedrock of sustainable development. We consistently advocate policies and practices that improve efficiency, equity, and excellence in Nigeria’s education sector. The prompt release of Common Entrance Examination results in Imo State is a progressive step, and with sustained commitment, it can serve as a model for other states in the federation.
We also urge continued collaboration between the Ministry, school administrators, and civil society organizations to address challenges of infrastructure, teacher training, and digital access, which are critical for the success of the new curriculum.

PoliticsEid-el-maulud: Hon. Francis Barthlomew Chima (omobarca) Salutes Muslims On The B by uzorathena(op): 1:42pm On Sep 05, 2025
As Muslims across Nigeria and the world commemorate Eid-el-Maulud, a day marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), Hon. Francis Barthlomew Chima, popularly known as OmoBarca, has sent warm greetings and prayers to the Muslim faithful, particularly his constituents in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency of Lagos State.

OmoBarca, a philanthropist and politician widely admired for his grassroots empowerment initiatives, urged Muslims to use the spiritual lessons of the Prophet’s life as a guiding compass in promoting peace, unity, and compassion in society.

In his goodwill message, he noted that the Prophet Muhammad epitomized virtues such as truthfulness, selflessness, humility, and unwavering faith in God, qualities which, if emulated, could transform communities and strengthen the moral fabric of Nigeria.

“On this blessed occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, I felicitate with all Muslim brothers and sisters in Ajeromi-Ifelodun and across Nigeria. The life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is a beacon of guidance for humanity, reminding us of the values of love, tolerance, justice, and peaceful coexistence. I urge us all to reflect on these values and embody them in our daily lives,” OmoBarca said.

He emphasized that religious celebrations such as Eid-el-Maulud should go beyond rituals and merriment to inspire social responsibility, communal harmony, and renewed dedication to nation-building. According to him, Nigeria’s diversity—religious, cultural, and ethnic—should be a source of strength rather than division.

A Call for Peaceful Coexistence

Hon. Chima also used the opportunity to appeal to Nigerians to work together in addressing challenges of insecurity, economic hardship, and moral decline. He argued that the teachings of the Prophet remain relevant in modern times, particularly in fostering peace in communities experiencing tension or unrest.

“Eid-el-Maulud calls us to rise above bitterness and hatred,” he remarked. “It calls us to love our neighbors, respect one another, and work for the common good. In the face of difficulties, we must emulate the Prophet’s resilience and unwavering hope in God’s plan. I strongly believe that if we live out these values, our nation will overcome its present challenges.”

Empowerment and Community Service

Known for his philanthropic interventions in Ajeromi-Ifelodun, OmoBarca linked the spiritual significance of the day to acts of kindness and charity. He encouraged well-meaning individuals to extend hands of support to the less privileged, saying that the Prophet Muhammad’s life was defined by care for the vulnerable and generosity to the needy.

“In keeping with the spirit of the celebration, I appeal to all to remember the poor, the widows, the orphans, and those struggling to make ends meet,” he said. “Eid-el-Maulud should inspire us to share what we have, to uplift those around us, and to make sacrifices for the progress of our communities.”

OmoBarca reaffirmed his commitment to youth empowerment, education, and infrastructural development in Ajeromi-Ifelodun. He stated that his political journey is anchored on service to humanity, a philosophy consistent with the values the Prophet exemplified.

Strengthening National Unity

The House of Representatives hopeful further stressed that Nigeria needs unity more than ever, especially as citizens from diverse backgrounds navigate the challenges of modern governance. He called on leaders to rise above partisanship and sectionalism and focus on policies that improve the welfare of citizens.

“Prophet Muhammad brought together people of different backgrounds under one message of peace and justice. We, too, must embrace unity and reject all forms of division,” OmoBarca said. “Let us not allow politics, religion, or ethnicity to create walls between us. Nigeria is stronger when we work together.”

Prayers for Nigeria

In conclusion, OmoBarca offered prayers for Nigeria, asking God to bless the country with enduring peace, prosperity, and progress. He prayed for the leadership of the nation to govern with wisdom and justice, and for ordinary Nigerians to experience better living conditions.

“As we celebrate Eid-el-Maulud, may God’s mercy and blessings be upon every family,” he prayed. “May He guide our leaders aright, protect our communities, and grant Nigeria a future filled with hope and opportunity.”

The Significance of Eid-el-Maulud

Eid-el-Maulud is observed annually by Muslims worldwide to honor the birth of Prophet Muhammad, who was born in Mecca in 570 AD. The occasion is often marked with prayers, lectures, processions, and community service. For Nigerian Muslims, it is both a spiritual renewal and an opportunity to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings of devotion, justice, and moral uprightness.

As Muslims in Ajeromi-Ifelodun and across Nigeria join the global community in marking this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, OmoBarca’s message resonates as both a call to faith and a reminder of the shared responsibility to build a just, peaceful, and prosperous society.

PoliticsNYSC Harassment: FOSAD Commends Anambra Govt’s Swift Action, Urges Sustained Ref by uzorathena(op): 10:58am On Aug 26, 2025
The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) commends the Anambra State Government for the decisive and transparent manner in which it has so far responded to the unfortunate assault on a female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member by operatives of the Agunechemba Vigilante group.

We acknowledge the seriousness with which the government has handled the matter—ordering investigations, arresting and publicly parading the perpetrators, openly condemning their actions, and engaging the media to update the public. These steps demonstrate openness, responsiveness, and a genuine commitment to justice. For this, FOSAD salutes the leadership of the state government.

That said, we believe more can and should be done. As earlier outlined, FOSAD respectfully urges the government to:

Undertake a comprehensive review of vigilante operations across the state to ensure professionalism, accountability, and lawful conduct.

Offer a formal apology and adequate compensation to the assaulted corps member to help restore her dignity and reaffirm the state’s commitment to the welfare of all NYSC members.

Put in place a clear directive guaranteeing the safety, protection, and respect of every corps member serving in Anambra State.

Looking ahead to the November 2025 governorship election, we also encourage the state government to ensure that vigilante groups are not used—directly or indirectly—as instruments of intimidation against opposition parties, candidates, or voters. Preserving the neutrality of security outfits will not only safeguard democracy but also strengthen public trust in governance.

FOSAD remains committed to constructive partnership with the Anambra State Government in ensuring justice, protecting the vulnerable, and deepening democratic values in the South-East.

PoliticsAssault On Female NYSC Member By Agunechemba Vigilante Is A Reflection Of Maladm by uzorathena(op): 10:29am On Aug 22, 2025
The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) has received with shock and dismay reports of the brutal assault meted out to a young female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) by operatives of the Agunechemba Vigilante group in Anambra State. This reprehensible act is not only a gross violation of human rights and dignity but also a shameful stain on the image of the state. It raises profound questions about governance, accountability, and the culture of impunity that has been allowed to fester under the administration of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

The NYSC is a national institution established to foster unity, service, and nation-building. Corps members, many of whom leave their homes and families to serve in distant and unfamiliar communities, deserve utmost protection and respect. To subject one of them to humiliation and physical abuse at the hands of a state-sanctioned vigilante outfit is not only criminal but an indictment on the state government which has, by action or inaction, failed to regulate and professionalize community security structures.

We note with sadness that the Agunechemba Vigilante group, which operates with the backing of local authorities, has become synonymous with excesses, unchecked power, and human rights violations. The failure of Governor Soludo’s administration to put in place clear oversight mechanisms and accountability structures has emboldened these groups to operate outside the law. What happened to this young corps member is a reflection of deeper maladministration; a failure to prioritize citizen welfare, ensure security sector reforms, and uphold the principles of justice.

Governor Soludo must understand that leadership is not only about economic reforms and urban renewal projects. At its core, governance is about people; their safety, their dignity, and their trust in public institutions. A government that cannot guarantee the basic protection of vulnerable groups such as students, corps members, women, and children has lost moral authority.

FOSAD therefore demands the following:
An immediate and thorough investigation into the assault, with perpetrators brought to justice swiftly and transparently.
A comprehensive review of vigilante operations in Anambra State to ensure they operate within the ambit of the law and under strict supervision.
A formal apology and compensation to the assaulted corps member to restore her dignity and reaffirm the state’s commitment to the safety of all NYSC members.
A policy directive from Governor Soludo guaranteeing that no corps member in Anambra State will again be subjected to harassment, intimidation, or violence by any security outfit.

The assault on a corps member is not an isolated event. It is symbolic of a broader decay in governance and accountability in Anambra State. Governor Soludo must act decisively to correct this perception and restore public confidence. Silence or token gestures will only deepen the growing belief that his administration has turned a blind eye to the abuse of citizens.

FOSAD stands with the victim, with all corps members serving in the South-East, and with every citizen whose rights have been trampled upon by those who should protect them. We call on civil society, the media, and the federal authorities to hold the Anambra State Government accountable. The dignity of our youth and the future of governance in our region depend on it.

PoliticsOmobarca In Strategic Talks With National Secretary Of ADC, Rauf Aregbesola Ahea by uzorathena(op): 11:27pm On Aug 19, 2025
A new wave of political realignment may be in the offing as Labour Party chieftain in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency, Hon. Francis Barthlomew Chima, popularly known as OmoBarca, held a closed-door meeting with the National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who is also a former Governor of Osun State, in Lagos over the weekend.

Although details of the meeting remain undisclosed, political observers suggest that it may not be unconnected to early strategic moves ahead of the 2027 general elections. The encounter, which took place at a private venue in Lagos, has already sparked speculations of possible coalition talks, cross-party alliances, and strategic positioning by both political figures.

OmoBarca, a prominent philanthropist and grassroots mobilizer, has consistently maintained visibility within the Labour Party and Ajeromi-Ifelodun politics, particularly among youths and community development groups. His engagement with Aregbesola, a seasoned politician, former Minister of Interior, and key national figure now steering affairs within the ADC, signals a growing appetite for broader political collaboration across party lines.

Sources close to the meeting revealed that discussions centered around governance challenges, the role of smaller parties in shaping Nigeria’s political future, and the need to build formidable alliances capable of presenting credible alternatives to the dominant political blocs. While neither OmoBarca nor Aregbesola has issued an official statement, their joint appearance underscores the intensifying behind-the-scenes maneuvers that usually characterize Nigeria’s pre-election seasons.

Political analysts in Lagos have described the meeting as “strategic and symbolic,” noting that both men share a reputation for grassroots appeal and bold political decisions. “OmoBarca has established himself as a force in Ajeromi-Ifelodun through philanthropy and direct engagement with the people, while Aregbesola brings years of political experience, national visibility, and party structuring expertise,” one analyst observed. “If their discussions evolve into concrete political collaboration, it could alter calculations in Lagos and beyond as 2027 approaches.”

The closed-door parley also comes at a time when opposition parties are under pressure to build consensus and avoid fragmentation ahead of future elections. The Labour Party, which gained significant traction in 2023, is seeking to consolidate its position, while the ADC has repeatedly emphasized the need for a “third force” coalition to give Nigerians more viable political options.

Meanwhile, community stakeholders in Ajeromi-Ifelodun have reacted cautiously, with some expressing optimism that the meeting could yield positive political dividends for grassroots development. Others have urged OmoBarca to remain steadfast in championing the interests of his constituency while navigating national-level alliances.

As Nigeria edges closer to another election cycle, the Lagos meeting between OmoBarca and Aregbesola highlights the shifting dynamics of opposition politics. Whether it evolves into a formal alliance or remains exploratory, it reflects the urgency among political actors to begin laying foundations for 2027.

For now, Nigerians and political watchers will keenly await official clarifications, but one thing remains certain: the race towards 2027 has already begun behind closed doors.

“The dawn of a brighter future is on the horizon. With patience, hard work, and collective resolve, the difficulties we face today will become the foundation for the progress and prosperity we all deserve,” he said.

PoliticsThe Vital Role Of Opposition In Nation Building by uzorathena(op): 11:39pm On Aug 08, 2025
In every functioning democracy, the opposition serves as a crucial pillar for stability, accountability, and progress. By providing checks and balances to the ruling government, opposition parties ensure that the voices of all citizens are heard, policies are scrutinised, and governance remains transparent.

This democratic necessity was underscored recently by the 2023 Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, His Excellency Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, who released a thought-provoking video addressing key issues affecting the nation. His remarks, delivered with clarity and purpose, touched on government accountability, the need for urgent reforms, and the importance of prioritising the welfare of citizens above political interests.

Political observers have noted that Rhodes-Vivour’s approach reflects the essence of constructive opposition—one that engages the government with facts, proposes viable solutions, and rallies citizens towards a shared vision of progress. His stance reinforces the idea that opposition is not about creating division, but about ensuring that governance serves the people effectively.

In his commentary, Rhodes-Vivour emphasised that much still needs to be done to address the socio-economic challenges confronting Nigerians. From tackling rising living costs to improving public infrastructure and strengthening institutions, he noted that the government must remain alert to the struggles of ordinary citizens and be prepared to respond decisively.

Echoing these sentiments, prominent philanthropist and political figure, Hon. Francis Barthlomew Chima, popularly known as OmoBarca, reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the people of Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituency. He praised Rhodes-Vivour’s remarks as an example of how leaders, regardless of party affiliation, can constructively influence national discourse.

“I want to reassure the good people of Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituency that I hold your interests close to my heart,” OmoBarca stated. “Rest assured, all that you have lost will be restored. We must remain hopeful and united, knowing that through dedication, service, and accountability, our communities can thrive again.”

Analysts believe that such public engagements—where leaders openly critique governance while offering solutions—are vital to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy. They argue that in times of economic hardship and political uncertainty, the opposition’s role becomes even more essential in shaping policies that reflect the aspirations of the people.

The growing call for constructive opposition has also resonated with civil society organisations, who stress that citizen participation, informed debate, and active oversight are key ingredients in building a just and prosperous nation.

As Nigeria continues its democratic journey, voices like those of Rhodes-Vivour and OmoBarca highlight the enduring truth that governance is a collective responsibility. While the ruling party steers the ship of state, the opposition’s watchful eye ensures that it stays on course—serving not the interests of the few, but the needs of all.

He further noted that August holds personal significance for him as it marks his birthday, expressing appreciation for the goodwill messages and solidarity from his supporters.

OmoBarca reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the welfare of the people of Ajeromi Ifelodun through responsive leadership and inclusive representation.

“Let us embrace August with hope, courage, and renewed commitment to our shared dreams,” he urged.

He concluded by invoking blessings upon his constituency, Lagos State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

PoliticsFOSAD Mourns The Murder Of Ifesinachi Onyekere Aka Fish Magnet, Says Security Ha by uzorathena(op): 11:27am On Jul 31, 2025
The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) expresses deep sorrow and outrage over the brutal and senseless murder of Mr. Ifesinachi Onyekere, popularly known as Fish Magnet, a prominent businessman based in Awka, Anambra State.

This reprehensible act once again highlights the alarming breakdown of law and order in the region, and the growing inability of the state to guarantee the safety of its citizens.

Mr. Onyekere, a respected fish farmer and entrepreneur, was known for his contributions to local commerce and youth empowerment.

His untimely death owing to kidnap and brutal murder after payment of ransom is not only a personal tragedy for his family and associates, but also a grave loss to the Anambra business community.

FOSAD condemns this heinous crime in the strongest terms and calls on security agencies to immediately launch a thorough investigation to ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice.

We equally urge the Anambra State Government to rise to its constitutional duty of protecting lives and property, as insecurity continues to cast a long shadow over the state.

Enough is enough.

PoliticsNatasha, Wike, Adeleke, Obi, Okpeholo, JAMB Registrar Among Top Trending Content by uzorathena(op): 1:25pm On Jul 24, 2025
Nigeria’s digital media landscape continues to evolve at a staggering pace, and few outlets capture its vibrancy better than DailyBlastNG. In this feature by Dr. Uzor Ngoladi, politicians such as Natasha, Wike, Adeleke, Obi, Okpeholo, JAMB Registrar and others are spotlighted as some of the most trending content creators shaping national conversations in in the first half of 2025. Their online presence reflects Nigeria’s increasingly dynamic content ecosystem where entertainment, policy discourse, and civic messaging intersect. This report explores how these influencers have leveraged platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X/Twitter to reach millions. He examines not only their popularity metrics but also the societal contributions they make: motivating youth, critiquing governance, providing vital information, and shaping digital culture. Enjoy:

Nyesom Wike – The Master of Political Spectacle

Among ministers of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, no figure commands public attention quite like the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Widely regarded as one of the most recognisable and controversial political figures in Nigeria, Wike has earned a reputation for blending governance with theatrics, often turning public appearances into spectacles marked by music, dance, and bold rhetoric.

Known as “Mr Projects” , Wike has flamboyant personality and unconventional approach to politics. With a personal musical entourage frequently present at official events, Wike’s public persona has taken on the attributes of a performer, entertaining audiences with humour, spontaneous dance moves, and unfiltered commentary.

Wike thrives on controversy and has become synonymous with what many refer to as the "pepper them" style of politics, a combative and provocative form of engagement with opponents and the public. From ongoing public disputes with his political godson, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, to high-profile press conferences, party infighting within the PDP, contentious land revocations, allocating lands to his family and relatives, and politically charged church appearances, Wike remains a persistent fixture in national discourse. Wike has entrenched himself as a dominant force in Rivers State politics, wielding significant influence over both the executive and legislative arms of government. He remains a trending topic across media platforms, sustaining a reputation as a complex figure whose political relevance is matched only by his unpredictability.

Peter Obi – The People's Politician

Regarded as one of the most popular and influential political figures in Nigeria, Mr. Peter Obi commands a unique blend of admiration from the masses and resistance from the political establishment. Revered for his modest lifestyle, direct engagement with citizens, and vocal stance on governance issues, Obi has cultivated an image of a principled, service-oriented leader in a political landscape often defined by excess and impunity.

A former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Obi continues to dominate political discourse in Nigeria. His presence at public events, both within and outside the country, often elicits standing ovations. These appearances frequently become platforms for him to articulate sharp criticisms of government policies and advocate for reforms aligned with accountability, transparency, and people-centered governance.

Obi's activities are closely followed on social media, where he is known for personally engaging with the public. From serving food at public functions to donating substantial sums to institutions such as nursing schools and flood-affected communities, Obi maintains a hands-on approach that resonates with his grassroots support base. However, his frequent clashes with Labour Party leadership, particularly with Chairman Julius Abure, have raised questions about internal cohesion within his political camp. His recent public disagreements and ambiguity surrounding his party affiliation whether with Labour Party or the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have not diminished the enthusiasm of his supporters, collectively known as the Obidient Movement, who remain steadfast in their belief in his presidential aspiration for 2027. A recent incident involved a reported warning issued by authorities in Edo State, advising him against making visits without formal notification to the state government. Despite such controversies, Obi continues to project a persona of moral integrity and civic responsibility, positioning himself as a pious and disciplined servant of the people in the pursuit of a new political order in Nigeria.

Governor Ademola Jackson Adeleke – A Controversial Performer in Governance

Governor Ademola Jackson Adeleke of Osun State has become a polarizing figure in Nigerian politics, widely known for his vibrant public appearances and dancing flair. While his charisma and relatable persona have earned him a loyal following, critics argue that his tenure has been marked more by entertainment than meaningful governance. Despite campaign promises to transform Osun State into a modern economic hub comparable to Atlanta, many observers contend that the state still grapples with underdevelopment and poor infrastructure.

Adeleke, uncle to popular music artist Davido, frequently appears in viral dance videos alongside his children, sparking debate over his priorities as a leader. His recent endorsement of President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid further fueled political tensions, especially with the opposition. Though regarded by some as an endearing public figure, others see him as lacking the seriousness and focus required for effective leadership.

Governor Monday Okpebholo – A Troubled Communicator in Edo Governance

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has drawn widespread attention and criticism for his repeated public missteps, particularly in the use of English and basic numeracy. Throughout his campaign and early days in office, several of his speeches have gone viral due to grammatical blunders and verbal inaccuracies. One widely circulated video, in which he mistakenly stated his intention to "bring insecurity" to Edo State, continues to trend on social media, casting doubt on his communication competence.

During his recent budget presentation before the Edo State House of Assembly, the governor reportedly struggled to articulate figures and deliver coherent statements, raising concerns about his preparedness for executive leadership. His recent warning to Peter Obi not to visit Edo State without prior notice further intensified public backlash. Social media comedians have frequently re-enacted his gaffes, turning him into an object of national ridicule rather than a figure of authority.

Rotimi Amaechi – A Familiar Political Performer with Renewed Ambition

Rotimi Amaechi, former Governor of Rivers State and former Minister of Transportation, has re-emerged in Nigeria’s political space with renewed ambitions, now aligning with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in what appears to be a strategic move ahead of the 2027 presidential elections. Despite his active role in the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government under President Buhari, Amaechi now positions himself as a saviour from the very misrule he once participated in.

Regularly featured in social media videos, Amaechi’s performances ranging from singing, jogging, and dramatic political declarations have provided entertainment value rather than policy clarity. His longstanding feud with Nyesom Wike continues to make headlines, including recent allegations involving his wife and the NDDC. As political tensions in Rivers State escalate, Amaechi’s antics, much like Wike’s, are often viewed as distractions from pressing governance issues, leaving the state in a deepening crisis.

Professor Ishaq Oloyede – Under Fire for 2025 UTME Controversy

Professor Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), came under intense public scrutiny following the widely criticized conduct of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). During a press briefing, Oloyede broke down in tears on camera  while taking responsibility for the technical failures that marred the examination process. His emotional display, however, did little to quell public outrage, as critics accused him of presiding over a national embarrassment that traumatized countless candidates, one of whom tragically committed suicide.

The 2025 UTME results, released on May 9, revealed that over 78% of candidates scored below 200 out of 400, sparking widespread condemnation and calls for his resignation. Allegations of ethnic bias and systemic sabotage were also raised. Despite acknowledging the irregularities as a "technical glitch," many Nigerians remain dissatisfied, questioning the continued leadership of JAMB under Oloyede’s watch.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan – The Maverick of the 10th National Assembly

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has emerged as one of the most controversial figures in Nigeria’s 10th National Assembly. Her tenure in the Red Chamber has been marked by a series of dramatic confrontations, public accusations, and social media spectacles that have kept her name consistently in the news. On March 6, 2025, she was suspended by the Senate for allegedly speaking out of turn while occupying a seat not officially assigned to her. Following this, she appeared on Arise Television to accuse the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, of sexual harassment, an allegation made without substantiating evidence.

Her fiery conduct during plenary sessions, captured in widely circulated videos, has sparked both criticism and admiration. Beyond the legislative chambers, Senator Natasha has accused Akpabio and former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello of plotting her assassination. Despite her six-month suspension, she has continued court proceedings to challenge the action while simultaneously engaging in constituency empowerment projects. Her satirical open letter of apology to Akpabio added another layer to her complex persona. Whether viewed as a disruptor or a crusader, Natasha remains a media sensation whose every move commands public attention and reinforces her reputation as the Senate’s most visible and vocal female lawmaker.

Governor Umo Eno – The “Happy Hour” Promiser and Social Media Sensation

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has carved a distinctive and often controversial presence in Nigeria’s political landscape, becoming a recurring figure in national discourse largely due to his statements, actions, and public image. Known initially for his pastoral background and philanthropic pursuits, Umo Eno’s transition into politics brought with it both expectations and controversy. His infamous campaign promise of a weekly “Happy Hour,” during which residents would be offered free alcohol, sparked widespread backlash. Many Nigerians questioned the sensibility of such a policy in a state facing significant developmental and economic challenges. The pledge, although lighthearted in tone, was perceived by critics as a trivialization of governance and indicative of misplaced priorities.

Governor Eno continued to remain in the media spotlight after the sudden and tragic passing of his wife. His decision to unofficially position his daughter as the acting First Lady of the state raised public eyebrows, with many questioning the appropriateness and symbolism of the move. The situation further escalated when his second daughter publicly accused him of involvement in the death of her mother, an allegation that went viral across various media platforms. In his defense, Governor Eno dismissed the claim, attributing it to his daughter’s deteriorating mental and emotional health, and called for the public to disregard the accusation.

The governor’s most significant political headline came with his dramatic defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The move was widely interpreted as politically expedient and sparked considerable criticism. Actor and politician Kenneth Okonkwo described Governor Eno as a “transgenderic” political figure, metaphorically accusing him of ideological inconsistency and opportunism. In response, Governor Eno dismissed Okonkwo as a “failed actor” whose political commentary carried no weight, asserting that he, as governor, remained focused and unbothered by such distractions.

In defending his party switch, Governor Eno employed vivid metaphors, likening his decision to that of a man chasing an elephant, who cannot afford to be distracted by barking dogs. The statement, while colourful, only added to his growing profile as a political actor whose utterances often provoke both amusement and criticism in equal measure. His embrace of spiritual language and worship music in political settings continues to blur the lines between his clerical past and executive duties, drawing both praise from loyal supporters and derision from critics.

Governor Umo Eno’s time in office thus far has been punctuated by a blend of theatrical moments, controversial pronouncements, and ongoing debates about the seriousness of his leadership. While some view him as an unconventional and relatable figure, others perceive his style as lacking the decorum expected of a state governor. Regardless of the perspective, one thing is certain—Umo Eno remains a trending political personality in Nigeria’s digital and political space, often for reasons far removed from policy or governance.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo – The Economist, Entertainer, and Enforcer

Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, continues to be a figure of national intrigue and controversy. Since assuming office, Soludo has positioned himself as a reformist leader with ambitious plans for transforming Anambra into what he once termed the “Dubai-Taiwan” of Africa. However, critics often point to this campaign slogan as a lofty but unrealistic promise, describing it as more of a comic relief than a tangible development blueprint.

Recently, Governor Soludo hosted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to commission the Solution Fun City, a leisure and entertainment park promoted as a tourism-boosting initiative. While the government touted it as a commercial venture designed to stimulate economic activity, many observers questioned the timing of such a project amid the ongoing challenges of insecurity and terrorism in the state. This development raised concerns about the administration’s priorities in a region still grappling with the effects of separatist violence and criminal activities.

A notable and highly publicized part of Governor Soludo’s administration has been his crusade against the activities of so-called native doctors and traditional occultists accused of aiding criminality. The governor directed security agencies to arrest those believed to be involved in rituals for quick wealth and charms used in kidnappings and armed robbery. High-profile arrests included popular native doctors such as Akwa Okuku and Onyeze Jesus, both of whom are now facing prosecution. Over 30 individuals connected to such practices have been detained, making Anambra trend nationwide as a state aggressively confronting ritualistic crime. The move has sparked national debate, with some hailing Soludo’s bravery while others decry the potential infringement on traditional spiritual practices.

Governor Soludo’s flair for publicity also came to light with his viral dance video featuring his son, Ozonna. The video, showing father and son dancing in a lighthearted family moment, was widely circulated on social media. While the video humanized the governor to many, it also drew criticism from detractors who argue that governance in a state plagued by violence should take precedence over social media theatrics. Nevertheless, the video added to the governor’s growing portfolio of digital content that keeps Anambra and its leadership in public view.

In his frequent media appearances, Governor Soludo emphasizes infrastructural development, education reform, and economic innovation. Yet, the palpable insecurity in many parts of Anambra remains a serious concern. Despite his academic pedigree and technocratic outlook, Soludo's administration has struggled to meaningfully curb the activities of armed groups and establish a stable security environment.

Moreover, Governor Soludo’s public criticism of former Anambra Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, continues to attract attention. In several online videos, he has openly challenged Obi’s political legacy and national ambition. This antagonism has deepened divisions within the Southeast political landscape, especially among supporters of the “Obidient” movement.

Governor Soludo’s governance is thus characterized by a blend of intellectual ambition, public drama, and security enforcement—all of which keep Anambra in national conversation and trending across social media platforms.

PoliticsGovernor Peter Mbah Urges Academics To Join Politics At FOSAD International Conf by uzorathena(op): 9:39pm On Jul 22, 2025
Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has called on academic doctors across Nigeria’s South-East region to take an active role in politics, warning that their continued absence from the political space is paving the way for less competent individuals to dominate governance structures.

Represented by the Commissioner for Environment, Prof Samuel Ugwu, the governor made the remarks while serving as Special Guest of Honour at the 2025 International Conference of the Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD), held in Enugu. The theme of the conference was “Reimagining Sustainable Development of Nigeria’s South-East Region Through a Disruptive Innovation Model.”

Governor Mbah decried what he described as a lackadaisical attitude by academics towards political participation, urging them to leverage their intellectual capacity to effect meaningful change in society.

“You must not allow charlatans to take over the political structure,” he said, adding that the challenges facing the South-East require informed, courageous, and committed leadership.

The conference featured two keynote speakers, Professor V.A. Onodugo and Professor Ofili Ugwudioha, who delivered in-depth presentations on disruptive innovation, policy transformation, and sustainable regional development.

At the conclusion of the two-day conference, FOSAD issued a communiqué capturing the collective resolutions and insights of its members.

Key points from the communiqué include:

1. Preservation of Igbo Language: Members unanimously agreed on the urgent need to preserve and promote the Igbo language, warning that it must not be allowed to go extinct.
2. Political Engagement: The Forum emphasized that academics must actively engage in politics to prevent the continued leadership of society by the uneducated or ill-prepared.
3. Climate Change Advocacy: Academic doctors were urged to champion environmental protection efforts and lead campaigns addressing the escalating effects of climate change.
4. Support for Agriculture: FOSAD called on government at all levels to create an enabling environment for farming and agricultural enterprises to thrive across the South-East.
5. Harnessing Resources: The communiqué stressed that the South-East is richly endowed with both human and mineral resources, which must be strategically harnessed by the region’s governors to drive socio-economic transformation.
6. Academic-Government Collaboration: The Forum encouraged the governors of the South-East states to partner with FOSAD as a knowledge-based advisory body in developing and implementing regional development plans.
7. Condemnation of “Eze Ndigbo” Abroad: FOSAD strongly condemned the continued practice of self-acclaimed “Eze Ndigbo” titles among members of the Igbo Diaspora, describing it as a distortion of traditional leadership structures.
8. Support for Constitutional Reform: The Forum declared its support for the position of The Patriots, a civic coalition advocating for constitutional reforms that will strengthen federalism and promote national unity.
9. Insecurity: FOSAD urges the governors in the southeast to tackle the prevalent insecurity in the region.
10. JAPA Syndrome: Harnessing the natural resources in the region and industrialization leading to abundance of food and employment will reduce the zeal to relocate abroad by youths.

The conference drew participation from a wide array of intellectuals, policymakers, and development experts from across the South-East and beyond.

It concluded with a renewed commitment by FOSAD to remain a critical stakeholder in the discourse around sustainable development, innovation, and governance reform in Nigeria.

PoliticsFear Of Omobarca: LASIEC Omits Labour Party Logo On Ajeromi Ifelodun Ballots by uzorathena(op): 10:05am On Jul 13, 2025
The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has come under scrutiny over allegations that the Labour Party’s logo was removed from ballot papers in the Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government election, sparking public concern and accusations of political bias.
Voters and political stakeholders shared images on social media showing ballot papers listing only the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with no Labour Party (LP) symbol visible. One voter posted on X, “No Labour Party on the ballot box at Ajeromi Ifelodun,” prompting widespread speculation that the party was being deliberately excluded.
LASIEC Chairperson, Justice Mobolanle Okikiolu Ighile, maintained that no party was barred from participation in the elections, stating that the Commission recognized only the INEC approved LP faction led by Dayo Ekong. She affirmed that LASIEC was operating under court directives and in compliance with party recognition protocol.
However, the Lagos State Labour Party Publicity Secretary, Barrister Adeola Onikoyi accused LASIEC of connivance with APC to compromise the LG polls
“Labour Party fielded candidates for the Local government election in Ajeromi Ifelodun but LASIEC being compromised only indicated APC and PDP on the ballot papers. They are scared of Labour Party winning this election. At no time did Pastor Dayo Ekong ask INEC to omit Labour Party logo because we have candidates contesting election. LASIEC is afraid of OmoBarca’s popularity. We shall meet LASIEC in court for conducting election without Labour Party logo. APC in their usual mischief connived with LASIEC to deny voters of their right to vote. We call for the cancellation of the sham LG election that took place yesterday.” Onikoyi said.
Political analysts note that the absence of LP branding from certain ballots is not unusual where the party has chosen not to field candidates. The confusion arose due to the prominence of LP in previous elections, leading many voters to assume it would have universal participation across all wards and councils.
Prominent Labour Party Chieftain in Ajeromi Ifelodun federal constituency, Hon Francis Barthlomew Chima aka OmoBarca has condemned the disenfranchisement of vast majority of Labour party voters during the recent polls.

PoliticsSuspended For Honouring An Invitation: The Chiefs, The Ruling Class, And The Pol by uzorathena(op): 11:51am On Jul 10, 2025
He that comes to equity must come with clean hands…

On this note, I set forth my observation regarding the unpalatable news of the recent suspension of the 6 chiefs by the apex ruling class of the domain.

One of the fundamental right of every human and Nigerian as enshrined in the Nigerian constitution section 40 of the 1999 constitution which states: Every person shall be entitled to assemble freely and associate with other persons, and in particular he may form or belong to any political party, trade union or any other association

However it is sad to note that, this isn’t the fate of the following respected personality.

Chief Akeem Oseni Bale Amukoko
Chief Abdulateef Ojora Bale Alaba
Chief Jide Ojora Bale Alafia
Bale Taiwo Okere
Bale Balogun Abukekere
Bale Idris Ojora

Like every other Nigerian and citizen, these above personalities attended a political rally on invitation and in honor of one of their subjects as royal fathers of the day.

However, they woke up to the news of their suspension from their superior with reasons that attended a political gathering which according to the communique stated that they weren’t allowed to do so and other untenable reasons to justify their suspension.

These respected chiefs accepted their fate and suspension in good fate..

Fast forward to July 8th 2025, another political rally was organized by another party, this time the apc and in attendance were 3 distinguished and highly respected kings of the Land,
The Onilado of Ilado Kingdom Oba Mobadenle Oyekan,
Oba Musiliu Adio of Onisiwo kingdom, Oba Onilashe of Ilashe Kingdom
fully seated and recognized in this political gathering..

12 hours later, no news of suspension or query has been seen or heard.
Which birth the question; are our traditional rulers now partisan?
Has partisan politics now infiltrated our traditional class?
Is the royal stool now in bed with a particular party and association with any other party outside of the apc now an anathema?

Is the royal stool not suppose to be neutral and accommodating to all parties since all candidates irrespective of the party affiliation are by nature their children?
Are they trying to pitch one of their children against others?

These are thought provoking question every right thinking Nigerian should ponder on.

The traditional ruling class by virtue of their foundational conduct ought to be a unifier, accommodating, fostering peace and harmony across parties, tribes and status of their immediate domain.

It is sad to say that the conduct of the apex ruling class on this matter has not shown unity but chaos, they want to sow seed of discord instead of peace shown, they have not done justices but blatant hypocrisy which is against every moral code and it stands condemnable.

We therefore appeal to our royal fathers to have a rethink and see that these anomaly is corrected and possibly the 6 suspended chiefs be restored and their suspension cancelled.

Nigeria of our dream is achievable.

PoliticsFOSAD Felicitates Governor Peter Mbah On The Successful Take-off Of Enugu Air by uzorathena(op): 9:55am On Jul 08, 2025
The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) extends warm congratulations to His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Executive Governor of Enugu State, on the historic and successful take-off of Enugu Air, the state-owned airline.

This milestone marks a new dawn not only for Enugu State but also for the entire South-East region. The operational commencement of Enugu Air is a bold demonstration of visionary leadership, strategic planning, and the political will to reposition Enugu as a hub for regional aviation, investment, and tourism.

Governor Mbah’s commitment to infrastructural renewal, economic expansion, and innovation continues to set the pace for subnational governance in Nigeria. The launch of Enugu Air is a testament to the capacity of sub-national governments to drive development when vision is matched with purpose.

As a body of scholars and intellectuals, FOSAD commends the Governor for aligning the state’s aviation vision with regional economic integration and global competitiveness. We are confident that this development will significantly boost trade, create employment opportunities, and attract both local and international investors to Enugu and the South-East.

PoliticsFOSAD Commends President Tinubu On New Tax Law, Says Policy Will Benefit Poor Ni by uzorathena(op): 1:03pm On Jun 29, 2025
The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the newly enacted tax legislation, describing the law as a progressive fiscal measure that prioritizes the needs of low-income Nigerians.

In a statement signed by FOSAD President, Dr Stephen Nwala and the Secretary General, Dr Uzor Ngoladi, FOSAD noted that the tax reforms, particularly the exemption of basic goods and services from VAT and the increase in personal income tax thresholds, will provide much-needed relief for the economically vulnerable population.

"We commend President Tinubu for demonstrating political will in pushing forward a tax reform agenda that tilts the fiscal burden away from the poor. By ensuring that essential commodities and small-scale traders are shielded from regressive taxation, this law reflects a people-centred economic vision,” the statement read.

The forum, made up of academic doctors of southeast origin, highlighted that the law is consistent with global best practices that aim to broaden the tax base without hurting the poor or stifling micro and small enterprises.

FOSAD also noted the positive implications of the law on revenue generation and public service delivery, particularly in health, education, and infrastructure, provided the government ensures transparency and efficiency in tax administration.

The academic body further urged the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and relevant agencies to embark on massive public enlightenment to help Nigerians understand the new tax regime and their obligations under the law.

“We call on the government to back this commendable policy with effective implementation and social accountability mechanisms. The gains of the tax reform must translate into visible improvements in the lives of ordinary Nigerians,” the statement added.

FOSAD reaffirmed its support for policies that promote economic justice, inclusiveness, and the dignity of the Nigerian citizen and expressed readiness to partner with government agencies on research, monitoring, and evaluation of fiscal reforms across the country.

OmoBarca Fires Up the Crowd

As Nigeria marks another Democracy Day, Hon. Francis Barthlomew Chima, popularly known as OmoBarca, has sent a powerful message of hope, reflection, and renewed commitment to democratic values, particularly to the people of Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Area in Lagos State.

In a statement made available to the press on Wednesday, Hon. Chima described June 12 as “a day etched forever in our national consciousness as a symbol of courage, sacrifice, and the people’s enduring quest for freedom and justice.”

Paying tribute to those who fought for Nigeria’s democracy, the grassroots leader urged Nigerians to remember “the power of our collective voice and the price paid by countless heroes known and unknown for the democracy we enjoy today.”

Turning his attention to his immediate constituency, OmoBarca lauded the people of Ajeromi Ifelodun for their resilience and community spirit in the face of longstanding challenges.

PoliticsTinubu’s Two Years In Office: A Colossal Failure Cloaked In Propaganda by uzorathena(op): 4:21pm On May 31, 2025
The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) views with grave concern and deep disappointment the state of the Nigerian nation as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu marks two years in office. Contrary to the celebratory tone of the President's May 29 anniversary speech, the reality on ground reveals a tragic tale of failed leadership, worsening insecurity, economic misery, institutional collapse, and national despondency.

The Forum rejects, in its entirety, the President’s self-congratulatory narrative of achievement, which is disconnected from the lived realities of millions of Nigerians. Instead of progress, Nigerians have witnessed two years of suffering, silence, and state-sanctioned failure.

1. Insecurity and Terror Still Reign
Despite lofty promises, the security situation across the country remains dire. From Zamfara to Imo, Benue to Kaduna, criminal gangs, kidnappers, terrorists, and unknown gunmen continue to operate with impunity. The South-East remains militarized, yet unsafe. Communities are traumatized, and the state seems unable—or unwilling—to provide security.

2. Hyperinflation and Unbearable Cost of Living
President Tinubu’s economic policies have plunged the country into historic levels of inflation. The removal of fuel subsidy without a coherent plan has crippled transportation and production. Inflation now exceeds 40%, and the prices of food and basic commodities have skyrocketed beyond the reach of ordinary citizens. Nigeria today faces the worst cost-of-living crisis in its history.

3. Electricity Supply: A National Shame
Two years on, electricity remains epileptic. Blackouts have worsened, and tariff hikes continue to impoverish consumers. The national grid remains fragile, while government pretends reforms are underway. In the digital and industrial age, Nigeria still gropes in darkness.

4. Collapse of the Education System
Under this administration, Nigeria's education system is at its lowest ebb. JAMB and WAEC have been riddled with controversies. The so-called student loan scheme is a political gimmick with no clear funding strategy or implementation framework. It excludes the poor, burdens the future, and is clearly unsustainable. Funding for universities has declined, while brain drain continues unabated.

5. White Elephant Projects over Real Development
FOSAD condemns the prioritization of grandiose, misplaced projects like the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, a vanity project with limited national value, while basic infrastructure across Nigeria is in decay. Roads in the South-East remain death traps. Public hospitals are underfunded, and local economies are in ruins.

6. Food Crisis: A Nation on the Brink
The cost of staple food items is at an all-time high. Farmers are being displaced by bandits and killer herdsmen, agricultural productivity is crashing, and the average Nigerian household is in a daily battle against hunger. The government has failed to implement any credible strategy to address food insecurity.

7. Tinubu's May 29 Speech: Propaganda, Not Progress
The Forum strongly condemns President Tinubu’s May 29, 2025 speech which seeks to whitewash failure and paint a false picture of progress. The speech was not only insensitive but also an insult to the intelligence of Nigerians. We urge the President to listen more to the cries of the people and less to the echo chambers of praise-singers and political contractors.

Our Call
FOSAD calls on all well-meaning Nigerians, civil society groups, organized labour, and student bodies to speak out against the deepening national decay. We demand a government that prioritizes people over propaganda, substance over showmanship, and policy over politics.
Nigeria is not working. The hardship is real. The suffering is national. President Tinubu must wake up to the sobering truth: his government, two years on, is a colossal failure.

Nairaland GeneralFOSAD Urges JAMB To Investigate Mass Failure In 2025 UTME by uzorathena(op): 2:12pm On May 13, 2025
The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) has called on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to investigate the reported mass failure and technical irregularities that marred the conduct of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a statement jointly signed by its President, Dr. Stephen Nwala, and Secretary General, Dr. Uzor Ngoladi, and made available to the press, the academic body expressed deep concern over the withholding of over 39,000 candidates' results and a noticeable drop in overall performance, especially across several regions of the country.

While acknowledging JAMB’s efforts to uphold the integrity of the examination process, FOSAD said the scale of the withheld results and the volume of complaints from candidates and their families demand a comprehensive and transparent review.

“We are alarmed by the high number of withheld results and reports of significant performance decline. These developments raise serious concerns that go beyond routine examination challenges,” the statement read.

FOSAD highlighted a range of technical issues encountered by candidates at various Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres. According to the Forum, these included frequent system crashes, login difficulties, network disruptions, and premature termination of exams—all of which reportedly impeded candidates’ ability to complete their papers effectively.

“In many cases, these technical malfunctions made it impossible for candidates to fully demonstrate their academic potential, effectively disenfranchising thousands,” the Forum stated. “The future of our youths must not be compromised by administrative or infrastructural failings.”

To address the situation, FOSAD has outlined a set of five urgent recommendations for JAMB:
1. An independent audit of the mass failure and technical failures reported in specific centres.
2. Publication of centre-by-centre performance data to identify unusual patterns that may point to systemic problems.
3. Introduction of redress mechanisms, including makeup examinations or result reviews for candidates affected by verified disruptions.
4. Investment in improved CBT infrastructure to reduce the risk of technical breakdowns during future exams.
5. Inclusive stakeholder engagement involving civil society groups, education experts, parent-teacher associations, and professional bodies to review and strengthen the examination system.
6.
FOSAD emphasized that while examination integrity is critical, it must not be upheld at the expense of fairness and justice. The Forum urged JAMB to act swiftly to restore public confidence and safeguard the educational aspirations of millions of Nigerian youths.

“National examinations must be credible and reliable—but also fair. We must not allow the system to punish young people for failures they did not cause,” the statement concluded.

JAMB had earlier announced the release of the 2025 UTME results on Friday, noting that 39,834 results were withheld over suspected malpractice. The examination body has also acknowledged receiving complaints from candidates, promising to investigate genuine cases.
