Samsung has something worth your time if you like to keep tabs on kids, pets or other cherished items, using monitor tags. The Korea electronics giant just announced Connect Tag, a small internet-enabled device that tracks location and lasts a week between charges.

In other words, this is a similar offering to existing electronic tagging devices used as monitor tags from the likes of Tile, the U.S. startup that pulled in $25 million earlier this year and has picked up nearly $60 million from investors to date.

Microsoft has recently launched Windows 10 S, which is a Chrome OS rival. Currrently it’s found on the new Surface Laptop, though that laptop is very expensive, unlike the Chromebooks reviewed here.

That’s according to several analysts speaking to USA Today. The most optimistic of them is Gene Munster, a tech investor and analyst with Loup Ventures, but even he reckons the iPhone X won’t be in stock until January at the earliest.

Tim Bajarin of Creative Strategies said it will be “a good three-four months until the X is in wide supply,” and Jan Dawson, an analyst with Jackdaw Research, claims you’ll be able to find the iPhone X in stores “sometime in the first quarter” – a period which runs until the end of March.

At a special event today in San Francisco, Microsoft announced that it has acquired social VR app AltspaceVR.

The virtual reality social networking app allows users across headset and web platforms to join 3D chat rooms to play games, watch videos and attend events.

In July, the startup announced it was shutting down after a new funding round had fallen through at the last minute, leaving the startup out of runway. Just weeks later, the company announced that it was keeping the lights on after help from a “third party.”

We now know that third party to be Microsoft.
