I thought i was the only one that thought Dora was crazy when she was ranting about enforcing people to register their sims with fingerprints and pictures etc. So are telecom companies now all of a sudden our very own CIA database source now? The stupidity and sheer mediocrity of this exercise spells FRAUD and waste of billions on a large scale on 100 million plus ignorant Nigerians who are actually celebrating sim card registrations. I learnt that it would cost the government approx N6Billion for this white elephant. But i want madam rebrand to answer these questions: what exactly is the job of the police if its phone companies that have your details? how will you establish and verify addresses? what about those people that live in car parks,on the water, dumpsites etc they mentioned establishing a special sim card task force that can stop and search you to verify if your sim has been registered Really, so is that not infringeing on the powers of the police and creating more havoc on hapless citizens.Im guessing they are going to issue a special " i have registered my simcard" ID card. I have been to different countries and pay as you go registration is voluntary infact most mobile operators encourage their customers to register their sims by offering incentives e.g free text, or free updates. Surely MTN,GLO, Zain et al can all do this afterall they make alot of money so why should the government fund a ridiculous project like this. My T-mobile pay as you sim card has never been registered and i've been using it for well over 10 years with nobody forcing me to do it. the only reason i had for registering it was when i lost it and i did it over the phone and got my new card sent. How about MTN,Glo,Bharti etc not offer the option of doing free registrations via phone or online? why does the customer have to fork out their hard earned cash getting transport to the designated registration point? Do these people not pity Nigerians ![]() Someone rightly said that will all these thieving politicians register their own sims, considering most have at least 5-10 phones for threatening their political enemies. i hereby insist that all members in the house of reps, government infact any body in public office should register their own sims first and that info should be made widely available to the general public so we can call the thieving bast.ards and tell them how we feel. BE SENSIBLE MY FELLOW NIGERIANS, THIS SIM BULLCRAP IS PART OF A LARGE SCALE FRAUD PERPETUATED BY DORA AND CO TO ADD TO THE N10BILLION JOLLIFICATION. IT SHOULD COST NOTHING TO THE GOVERNMENT AND IS TOTALLY UP TO THE MOBILE OPERATORS. SAY NO TO THE SIM CARD REGISTRATION!!! |
