In the history of Nigeria elections, never has INEC fixed presidential elections in January, a whole 122 days before inauguration. Obviously, the January 16, 2027 day is planned purposely to defranchise Igbos of the South-east, who usually travel for Christmas and New Year, with many returning to base in late January. It is no gainsaying that between December 20th to January 20th, States like Lagos is practically empty as Igbos will be in the East. So, for INEC to plan presidential elections on January 16, 2027 is a sinister plot to defranchise Igbos and other Southerners.

This is where the Chinua Achebe's proverbial Eneke proverb comes to play.

Since INEC and APC have planned to defranchise Igbos in 2027 presidentialelections, Igbos should also plan to scuttle their plans. Let everyone begin planning to travel for Easter. Afterall, elections period are even very volatile.
