Owajigarrisson: If you don't know the meaning, then you shouldn't be arguing, because that means you know nothing about the people you're arguing for!
You're the one that lost it by being ignorant of salient facts and bringing up stale points. Up till now, you haven't told me why it was only the Igboid people in upland Rivers that lost their language while Ogonis,Kalabaris,e.t.c retained theirs despite the strong trade relationship they had with the Igbos even before the coming of the whites! You haven't told me why the Greeks in the middle East now speak Arabic today You haven't told me why the red Indies today speak only English. You have lost the argument, no need to stutter further |

Owajigarrisson: Why was it only Ikwerre that lost their language? Why is it that despite the fact that Ogoni has boundaries with core Igbo communities like Akwete in Abia State, they still speak pure Ogoni, while Igbo remains a subsidiary language? Moreover,Ikwerre historians never talked about having a language distinct to them before speaking Igbo,so what are you saying? Why is it that Ethiopia did not loose their language, why is it that Algerians did not loose their language? |

Owajigarrisson: Igbo language was a language of trade, agreed! What is Ikwerre and Ogba main language since Igbo was a language of trade? How come they don't speak their language and answer their native names? How come Kalabari,Ibani, and Ogoni people who adopted Igbo as a second language due to trade still speak their original language as a first language?
My brother you have no point! Egyptians had their language, but today they've lost it and now speak Arabic. Will you as well say they have always spoken Arabic? Guy you don't wanna accept the truth |

Why do you dress in English style instead of ibo style? 3. Why do you have streets named in English instead of ibo? Answer these questions and you have your answer to why they're named that |
Politics › Re: Has he Prophecy Of Dipping The Book Inside The Ocean Has Been Fulfilled ?? by valirex: 12:46pm On Mar 10, 2021 |
nafejej370: From the look of things happening around us in Nigeria from the 1960s till now .
Today I can say that prophecy of dipping the holy book in the ocean has been 96% fulfilled . This is going going to be 100% as soon as Dangote Refinery starts processing the same crude from the one part of the Atlantic Ocean the South East to the other part of the Atlantic in the South West by the dangote Group . Indeed the hausa -fulani islamization agenda took off from the days of sir Ahmadu bello who promised the jihadist that they will not stop until they dip the holy book in the atlantic ocean .
That one person who has enabled that age-long dream to succeed today is dangote. Today the dangote refinery which is the Holy Grail for the entire Nigerias crude oil market is now sited in Lekki Ajah at the Atlantic ocean . This feat which they could not achieve by following the South East they got it easily by making use of the Yoruba Muslims of the South West to achieved the age long dream .
by .... nafejej370 It can never work as far as indiginous tribes keep their language and Traditional stools. No tribe will stand by and allow marauding desert dwellers usurp them Las las na second civil war, and that one na the end of Nigeria |

Owajigarrisson: So when a group of people pay homage, the whole Ekpeye,Ogba and Ikwerre become Bini ? Nigerians don't know history, that's why people make funny insinuations like this. Do you know that the Igbide people of Isoko claim to have migrated from Akwa in Anambra state, does that make them Igbo and non-Isoko? Do you know that Opobo was founded by an Igbo man and many Igbo freed slaves who were Ijawnized, those that make them Igbo and non-Ijaws?? What do you have to say concerning the fact that the most respected Ekpeye historian of all time, U.J.Ajugo reinstated in many of his books that Ekpeye has nothing in common with Benin and that they are older than the Benin empire?? Can you give me reasons why there are many Ikwerre men heading different posts in Ohaneze Ndi Igbo? Can you tell me why Obi Wali, one of the most famous Ikwere men of all time pushed for his people to be included with Igbos? Can you tell me why there is a place called Rumuigbo in Ali Ikwerre, "Rumu" means children in Ikwerre(Igbos call it umu). So it means the inhabitants are Igbo children! Can you tell me why according to Isiokpo's oral history, they migrated from Arochukwu in Abia State?
There are millions of things that shows that these guys have nothing to do with Benin, the war and Nigeria's politics divided many ethnic groups and put them against one another, Igbos were badly hit than the rest, that's why you'll see indigenous Igbo settlements in Delta(Anioma),Rivers State(Upland),Akwa Ibom(Ndoki in Ukanafun LGA),Cross River(Igbos in Obubra and Abi LGA) and Benue(Obi,Oji). Fact is if the 42 states as proposed is created, the Igboid tribes should be United under one geo-political zone just as the Yoruboid and Edoid should be,enough of this identity crisis! You said because a group of people say their tribe is Benin doesn't mean they are, but you went ahead to point one man that claims to be a historian and then went ahead to say a group of Ekpeye and ikwere people are holding positions in ohaneze. Do you see how to contradicted yourself? |
Politics › Re: There Is No Bill To Make Nigeria Have 42 States by valirex: 11:53am On Mar 10, 2021 |
Owajigarrisson: Ekpeye doesn't claim to be Bini, Ekpeyes are older than Binis. Go and read U.J Ajugo book for more clarification,he is the biggest Ekpeye historian. Ikwerre on the other hand only have few people claiming Benin. Ever wondered why Chibuike Amaechi and Nyesom Wike despite being kinsmen from thesame local government had different disposition towards their ethnicity, one claimed he is Igbo and one said his ancestors migrated from Benin, this is exactly how Ali Ikwerre is as at now, I've met thousands of Ikwerre in Rivers State that claimed to be Igbo and I have met thousands who claim that their ancestors migrated from Benin. Nevertheless, whether Bini or Igbo,Ikwerre is not an Edoid language,it is Igboid just like Ekpeye,Ogba, Ndoni,e.t.c. I could point you to a video where ogba, Ikwerre, Ekpeye etc paid homage to the Ọba of Benin and restated they are Benins |

Owajigarrisson: Assuming you said there are other ethnic groups in Rivers State like Kalabari,Ijaw,Ogoni,e.t.c,it would make more sense because these ethnicities are very distinct from Igbo, they only share boundaries with Igbo communities but have nothing in common with Igbos. However, the Ekpeye you mentioned will be drafted into the proposed Orashi state because Ekpeye is an Igboid nationality, some historians even classify them as an Igbo sub-group. Visit Wikipedia if you doubt me! Though Ikwerre was not included in the proposed Orashi State,I will suggest they be included because they are also an Igboid nationality,an average Igbo man from Imo and Abia State have a lot in common with an Ikwerre man,so I don't see why they should be seen as a distinct ethnic group! Epkpeye and ikwere claim to be Benins. There is no need for you to stress yourself let them speak for themselves. When the time comes, everyone will speak for themselves. |
