Can you give me reasons why there are many Ikwerre men heading different posts in Ohaneze Ndi Igbo?
Can you tell me why Obi Wali, one of the most famous Ikwere men of all time pushed for his people to be included with Igbos?
Can you tell me why there is a place called Rumuigbo in Ali Ikwerre, "Rumu" means children in Ikwerre(Igbos call it umu). So it means the inhabitants are Igbo children!
Can you tell me why according to Isiokpo's oral history, they migrated from Arochukwu in Abia State?

There are millions of things that shows that these guys have nothing to do with Benin,the war and Nigeria's politics divided many ethnic groups and put them against one another, Igbos were badly hit than the rest, that's why you'll see indigenous Igbo settlements in Delta(Anioma),Rivers State(Upland),Akwa Ibom(Ndoki in Ukanafun LGA),Cross River(Igbos in Obubra and Abi LGA) and Benue(Obi,Oji). Fact is if the 42 states as proposed is created,the Igboid tribes should be United under one geo-political zone just as the Yoruboid and Edoid should be,enough of this identity crisis!

Ekpeye doesn't claim to be Bini, Ekpeyes are older than Binis. Go and read U.J Ajugo book for more clarification,he is the biggest Ekpeye historian.
Ikwerre on the other hand only have few people claiming Benin. Ever wondered why Chibuike Amaechi and Nyesom Wike despite being kinsmen from thesame local government had different disposition towards their ethnicity, one claimed he is Igbo and one said his ancestors migrated from Benin, this is exactly how Ali Ikwerre is as at now, I've met thousands of Ikwerre in Rivers State that claimed to be Igbo and I have met thousands who claim that their ancestors migrated from Benin.
Nevertheless, whether Bini or Igbo,Ikwerre is not an Edoid language,it is Igboid just like Ekpeye,Ogba, Ndoni,e.t.c.

Assuming you said there are other ethnic groups in Rivers State like Kalabari,Ijaw,Ogoni,e.t.c,it would make more sense because these ethnicities are very distinct from Igbo,they only share boundaries with Igbo communities but have nothing in common with Igbos. However, the Ekpeye you mentioned will be drafted into the proposed Orashi state because Ekpeye is an Igboid nationality,some historians even classify them as an Igbo sub-group. Visit Wikipedia if you doubt me!
Though Ikwerre was not included in the proposed Orashi State,I will suggest they be included because they are also an Igboid nationality,an average Igbo man from Imo and Abia State have a lot in common with an Ikwerre man,so I don't see why they should be seen as a distinct ethnic group!
