Of what benefit is it to get visitor visa and travel weather for symposium, seminar or whatever for just a week or so and return back to naija,or does it mean that one can travel with this type of visa and decided to stay over there and change the visa status, won't that makes one an illegal immigrants that u will not be able to work, move around or something?,pls I need more enlightenment on this,i have such opportunity to visit New York but considering the cash involved,as I don't know anybody there makes me feel it doesn't what it since I still have my freedom here in naija,i stand to be corrected pls,i need explanation of how this is going to work over there, then I can grab the opportunity . God bless u all
Sorry to say this, but you sound like a flight risk.

People that travel for seminar, conference or exhibitions do so to learn and improve in their field.

On the othe hand, others travel for vacation, holiday and tourism ( you don't expect to get explanations for these).

Over to the gurus in the house if am wrong.

Thank you spykid014

I was turned back last week and asked to reschedule my appointment.

My friend got to the US via school. He did a change of status after he graduated. He schooled in New Jersey, and has been a PR for 6 years now. He has been working for 4 years (white collar job) and filling taxes as at when due.

Hello house, trust you are all doing fine. Here is my case and i want you guys to review and tell me my chances. I was denied US visa in 2013 at Lagos consulate. Though it was my fault because i couldn't answer most of the questions, i got carried away by the beautiful young vo in No.1 cubicle as she interviewed me + no travel history (i used an agent then, but luckily for me i have all the details) no false info whatsoever!

I reapplied this year for june, but was told at the verification desk in Abuja that i was part of the applicant affected by the system glitch. I quickly reschedule another appointment for August.

Here are my Question

1. My appoint for August was successfully reschedule but the previous one for June is still showing in my appointment history as scheduled.

2. For travel history I've been to east Africa twice one visa on arrival and the other i got my visa in abuja. I've also traveled to one of the ecowas country and i have their stamps.

3. I still work with the company i filled in my first US appointment in 2013, but now my pay has risen from 170k + then to 200k + now.

4. Am single, no kids (surely i pray to have my itssy bitssy through wedlock )

5. A friend of mine who is a LPR holder is the one inviting me for a 2 week holiday.

Please what is my chances of getting approved.
