People should stop wailing themselves to death over VAT allocations. We are a federation, resources are supposed to be shared equally, south east are supposed to get at least 100b, at least.

Feeding bottle federalism on VAT all me,

Snake eating habits on oil and gas revenue

My state rivers cannot even ask how much oil was dug from my state in a year, those information are classified by the CIAFBIM16 grin

Remember that under the new tax law, VAT is now determined by where consumption occurs rather than the location of a company’s headquarters. Some regions may still choose to lag behind. It is time to return home and develop your regions, instead of investing in empty mansions.
Na lie, we must build our mansions so you will cry premium tears. Please keep raising the vat, we take much and offer you little in exchange, that's sweet for a change grin
PoliticsRe: What The Six Geo-political Zones Contributed To The VAT Pool And Received In Jan by vanbonattel: 10:32am On Mar 09
People will be opening topics to cry daily, tell them about division into regions and they will wail against it cheesy

How can we satisfy some people sef?

You say you are rich in VAT, fine, go your separate ways and you will start fighting like Jackie Chan grin

OYO state alone contributes to VAT than the entire south eastern states combined together. SHAME
That's fair enough cheesy considering that the state has zero resources comparing to the federal allocations it keeps drinking.
PoliticsRe: What The Six Geo-political Zones Contributed To The VAT Pool And Received In Jan by vanbonattel: 10:26am On Mar 09
Now, use the same energy to do the stats on what each zone contributed to the federation account in oil and gas.

We want to check something cheesy

This your analogy, make it make sense.
Company income Tax reduced to 25% ...what do you think will happen to millions of businesses that have been tax compliancehuh

You are now making assertions for Tax evaders...that because they have not been paying anything before now, their service charges will go up by 40%huh

Why not also say those that have been paying before now will reduce their own service charge?

I don't even understand you...are you supporting anyone not paying Tax before not to pay at allhuh
You mean the 2% of the companies getting a 5% reduction? grin

Drop of water in the ocean.

Well you saying you cannot hold people accountable are teh same people who cry that gov is not performing, Well I am lucky to live in a country where gov are held accountable the UK.If you want I can tell you how to hold government accountable. It starts with conversations like this.
Then ig goes to the next level cos someone will get vexed someday and take on the governor cos that pain touched a nerve.
let me ask you have you ever i n your life see anyone challenged the IG of police B4 ina planned attempt to rip Nigerians of cash? now did someone brave last year not challenge them, so theses little wins are what change the narrative i n a progressive environment. These new laws will hook people in the unusual ways do not worry.
The problem is not tax, but trusting the people collecting tax.

Is this not the same people that removed fuel subsidy and moved fuel from 196 to over 1,000

Is this not the same people that said TSA will increase revenue, and they're still borrowing like poor beggars

Is this not the same people that said unification of exchange rates, or arresting BDC operators will crash dollar, how far?

So,

What gives you the confidence to believe this tax regime will not still make the system worse as they have historically proven.

You live abroad, so you won't understand. People living will think you're insulting their endurance to this slavery.

No it wont cos it is balanced, Nigerians must learn how to Pay tax and hold leaders accountable. We too as younger people should read all fru the whole documents of the tax review and make an inform argument in public, some adults here are talking like pry2 kids all cos they never took their time to read all of the document. VAT is still 7.5% no change. What change is the enforcement, we as Biz now have to get VAT registered, We now have to file in every month even though you sold nil, you cannot collect VAT if you are not VAT registered. Evidence of remittance will be demanded each month. Those coy who collect VAT and do not remit will be r outed out and fined. Only Customers pay VAT.
Thank you.

Are you saying that those who have not been collecting VAT from customers and are now being forced to comply, and are now complying, that they will be selling a carton of indomie the same amount they sold it last year when they were not collecting or remitting VAT?

Honest answer please.

It's still a conflict of interest matter.

His father is the president and people will never see it from the angle you're talking about. They will read it to be free advert of a president's son. That's why he should be more sensitive to the opinions of the masses.
