There appears to be a server side switch, which Xiaomi flips and lets the same build get installed on all devices

I was able to get Google RCS Messaging to work on it (Android equivalent of iMessage)
Havent taken pics to check camera improvements... But I like the way whatsapp pops out in some apps.

Exactly.. Chinese rom users got theirs first.. I guess that's what caused the confusion when folks on global rom started panicking...


I would like to find out if a non mi pilot account got the global rom Update.

Cos apparently from what I've been hearing, even if you flash the zip the ROM won't activate.. at least I've seen images on the telegram pilot group

This is not true. I and others have shared pic of having the update almost two weeks now and I'm not on any pilot or beta program. Got my second MIUI update on MIUI 11 two nights ago too. It comes when it comes. You can't conjour it..

Digital Wellbeing is an Android 10 feature if I recall. If your Redmi 7A is on pie then they've ported the feature to older Android versions.
