This killings happen inside forest and very romote areas, most farms are kilometers away from home and the herders operate deep inside the forest it takes hours or days to realize this killings and before then the perpetrators would have moved on ,villagers set up search teams when people fail to return back from farm after the days work that's how most of this killings are discovered, the Federal government will have to ban open grazing nation wide and force the herders to ranch livestock otherwise the silent killing will not stop its all about land grabbing by putting fear into the farmers to avoid the forest. There was no provisions made for subsidy so no extra unutilized funds in that regards, rather it has reflected in the huge monthly allocation the tiers of government have been sharing from the federation account , I am sure the minister didn't want to publicly embarrass the senator with his response which might make the senetor look unschooled in financial analysis. |
An end to such an impactful life time, may God in his infinite mercy grant his soul eternal rest. |
The generalization is insensitive be specific in your categorization so we don't misinform the general public otherswise properly microzone the phrase NORTH as its very ambiguous in the present context. |

If this Emir is Hausa and not Fulani then I see a conspiracy, there are very few Emirs of pure Hausa oringin in the north and this should be one of them, something very sinister is going on underground. |
From the responses here it's clear Nigeria still have a long way to go most people threw in comments based on the head line without reading the story , what a shame. The company had a contract with Ogun state government as far back as 2007, we all know as Nigerians that Ogun state govermant is not same as ferderal government, beside the contractor didn't perform up to 10% of the job how low have we become in Nigeria by dancing to the galary by bitting our nose to spite the face, terrible I may say. |

If you don't see reasons with this government, its efforts and axhivement and the plans on ground to reposition the country then you know nothing about governance and nation building, the goveremt is so in focused all we need is time, Nigeria is surely on the path to greatness. |
Good one, we have enough investors in Nigeria to take over this but most of us will rather spend the whole day blaming Tinubu for this and not those who steal our common patrimony and rather invest in Dubai, Europe and the America's, if all the stolen wealth ends up in such investment within the shotes of this country we would had been the largest economy in African. |

The issue is the replantability of the seed, for the native species of maize you can take out a portion from your previous havest and preserve for the next planting season but for this they don't reproduce by themself so every planting season you have to go back to purchase seed maize for that season , this becomes dangerous as the person who sells the seed plant controls the availability and production. There must be a way to preserve our indigenous specie's of maize we have to be conservative. |

The moment the west start criticizing economic policy of any African country know for free that the policy is on the right track. They will never support any government that is doing the right thing to take Africa out of poverty , Dogote stated how much they did behind the scene to sabotage his refinary from taking off, they prefer milking us of our raw materials and sell back finished goods. |

Bandits, bokoharam and killer herds men have successfully weapoinized hunger by killing farmers and taking over farmlands around the north especially the middle belt and this is the long term effect, the war didn't start today and if nothing is done urgently to help return this people back to there ancestral homes then the worst is yet to come. |

When you understand that the easons for this continuous killling and displacement of the indigenes is a fight for land grabbing then you will appreciate how brutish the war is and mind you this will continue until they successfully and forcefully take over every available land in sight, considering the original owners of the land are Hausas who have been grossly politically marginalized by the Fulani's its like a free lunch for the killers. |

This is a proactive move by the senator and should be supported for a speedy passage , ,ranching is the best way to rare cattle and settle the continuous farmers and herders clash unless there is an underground plot to weaponize hunger in the country. |

How is this the fault of Tinubu that has just celebrated his first year in office? When we cried out that rampaging killer herdsmen where weaponizing hunger by preventing farmers in the middle belt from planting what did you expect? No succor until August when the new harvest will hit the market in large quantities and force down the price thanks to the current little peace in middle belt states for now. author=Crimecity post=130315064]Tinubu has finished this country oo. I saw this at Oja Oba! They now have to break yam it into pieces for it to be affordable to them. This is what the likes of Toyin Abraham is using to catch cruise? Saying it’s her choice? Instead of apologizing to Nigerians who she misled to vote for this unbelievably reckless government, she’s there threatening people. Do you know what it means for people to be so poor to the extent of not being able to afford one tuber of yam? Nigerians are literally dying but to some people, they want to stick to their “choice” at the expense of the nation. Just admit that you’re wrong with your choice. Apologies and call out these heartless people you voted for. Previous thread Harsh Economy: Cut Yams On Sale At Food Markets https://www.nairaland.com/8083089/harsh-economy-cut-yams-sale
|
