Now fun fact for kids. 15 member makes active ECOWAS, and Nigeria is one of the sole contributor and due to its large population, it is expected Nigeria will contribute more troops and financial resources , it is understandable but that those not exclude Ghana , Cote D'Ivoire also as one of the contributor .even guinea contribute. Now take this home. Ghana is the second largest financial contributor to ecowas ( Nigeria is doing 700 Ghana is doing 300( figures are millions of dollars )Going by capital count , Ghana still contribute more than Nigeria . |

We are not called that for no reason...
In fact the entire West Africa owes its stability to Nigeria.
If you visit Sierra Leone or Liberia today as a Nigerian, they literally worship the ground you walk on, due to their memory of how the Nigerian military ended their wars.... not true. Ghana and cape Verde has proven to be more stable than Nigeria |

Putindbutt: Go and meet the eldest person in your family to educate your ignorance. There's a reason why Nigeria calls the shot in ECOWAS and others follow, just as other members of NATO contribute their quota but the US calls the shot in NATO. Many of you online noisemakers are just too ignorant. I will rather nairaland School you. Nigeria to ecowas is not same with NATO to USA. ECOWAS deals with economic integration with little to no military impact ( Ecomog).while NATO is a military alliance between members state. In short , ECOWAS is economic focus and NATO is military focus. So learn, ECOWAS and NATO serves different purpose and juxtaposing the two is an act of ignorance. |

Seems you don't know why they called Nigeria ECOWAS. Don't know why you guys putting down your country because of hate & bitterness. Simply because you lost election which you will still lose again. You be mumu. What is my stakes in whose win Nigeria election. ECOWAS as a 14 member states. And based on each country resources and military availability, each member states are intend to deployed not Nigeria only( ready ecomog states) .With Nigeria having much larger military resources and members ,it is expected to of her to put more resources. And Nigeria is not called ECOWAS, it is rather the joint 14 member states that bears the name. |

You mentioned Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone, countries where Nigerian Military have carried out successful operations in? The joke is on you lots. it is rather the opposite.. ECOWAS or ecomog are most often present in this kind of situation. Giving the kudos to Nigeria only as if she did it alone is am unnecessary pride . Other ECOWAS should also follow up. |

Infact ,Ghana together with Nigeria and Ivory Coast, and Sierra Leone deploy forces to Benin as part of ECOWAS Standby Force to protect the government of Benin in the wake of the attempted coup.

The best way to prevent USA military actions, is to fully prepared for it.
Nigeria should eliminate Boko Haram or any religious affiliated mofo in a week if she is ready .
USA should stop this childish bully.
This is why the liberal minded people are advocating for a united Africa . We can't be intimidated. And you can't bully a united Africa. |

Techs can never replace human center skills or skills that demand higher level of thinking. University education remains very paramount.
What I suggest. A good country should adopt a compulsory techs skills in basic schools and secondary education. When foundation is solid. Up-skilling and re-skilling will be much more easier.
They are some high level thinking skills that can't be replaced with techs . Such as strategy, innovation, empathy , decisions making, communication and collaboration etc.
These high human centered skills will still remain relevant in our unis and our society at large .
So no worries . We just need to embrace tech's and understand the limitations and her capabilities |

Why Dem no go dey safe. Country wey be like person compund for vilage illiteracy at the highest peak clearly display. Ghana is similar to the size of the UK . Fact check me on meta Ai Ghana per Capita wise is bigger than Nigeria if land to population are the only yardstick of measurement. Nigeria is only big by population not by land size . In another fact, A particular region in Ghana ( Northern region) is particularly bigger than the whole south Eastern Nigeria . |

codemaniacs: Ghana is not small...
Ghana and Ivory coast have people who are the same tribe...
Once you add Ghana and Ivory Coast together then they are bigger than a lot of tribes in Nigeria.. Even at that , Ghana Northern region by land size is far bigger than the entire south eastern Nigeria. A check on the goggle map will help many of them thinking otherwise . Nigeria is a not a big country by size but by population while Ghana is similar to the size of the Uk by land size and per capital wise, "land to population size" , Ghana is bigger than Nigeria . |

$251 Billion not $188 Billion Ghana GDP of 30 million population with less arable land and less mineral resources compare to Nigeria remain at 138 billion $ more than half of Nigeria. GDP base on the recent base year . |

Nwaikpe: I knew you would refer to Times Higher ranking
If only you were in the system, you would understand what the ranking of some of these bodies relies on. Just in case you don't know, Times Higher ranking is a paid ranking system that ranks only those who "are registered in their system." And they rank based on the metrics you apply for.
That is why private universities, not only in Nigeria but everywhere, spend a lot on these rankings, and that is an endeavor public universities are unwilling to take with regard to their scarce resources.
So, somehow, you believe that Covenant University, on Times Higher, is better than the University of Ibadan. Whereas, if the main metrics were research output, 70% of Covenant University teaching staff are full-time lecturers in UI.
I don't even know how to explain it to you sef. Let's agree I am lying. It doesn't matter where is the primary focus of assignments of any lecturer. They are standard and metric used by this ranking institution and this ranking institution are private , so forget about it being paid or not . If your institution does not meet this standard you will be downgraded |
Education › Re: Pictures Of Private Universities Facilities In Ghana by vaxx: 3:13pm On Jul 11, 2025 |
Nwaikpe: Well, from the QS rankings, it trails both the University of Ibadan and the University of Lagos. It is just in the same percentile with the Ahmadu Bello University.
So I think your facts are not right. Except if you had another source. But from my experience, I know very well that the best university in Ghana will not in any way stand close, in research output, with an average university in Nigeria.
If it is clout of chasing rankings, they can. Just like how Covenant University pursues these rankings and comes first in our systems. But in respect to the quality of published works and patents, a good ranking system wouldn't even permit Covenant University to be close to 10 of the Nigerian public schools. That is the same thing with Ghanaian and some (most) Malaysian schools. You lied , by times higher standards, UCC in Ghana is by far the best best university in W Africa and around around number 7 in entire Africa. Times higher standards is a UK ranking recognized intuition |

oceanblazer: Very true.
Each of this buildings may be just one out of about 6 maximum in the entire school.
Ghana universities can be compared to faculties in a Nigerian university. Their schools are very small. You can see the length and breadth of an entire school at one glance. You can also walk an entire campus in few minutes.
No jokes intended. I'm speaking from what I've seen here in Accra. Apart from ABU Zaria. No university in Nigeria is as big as university of Ghana. No pun intended.. fact |

No jokes intended. I'm speaking from what I've seen here in Accra. you mean my country... 😂 The 20 public fledged university are way bigger and standardized than many Nigeria universities. Many private institution in Ghana run mono faculty program hence no reason to have a bigger campus . Private university which have extensive program like academic city or central university are way bigger as well. Webster University ( a subsidiary of American University) is a mono faculty in GH, with some few storey building. When you go to Dubai or Qatar , you will see similar structures representing such infrastructure too. |

Do you know that Ghana has only two full fledged public universities?
Two.
The rest are small specialised unis like “university of technology…”, “university of education…” etc. Then private universities. That’s it.
Meanwhile Nigeria has 300+ universities including beautiful campuses..
Nigerians who know Zero about them will see a “fine looking” university in Ghana and scream out their inferiority complex automatically. Another lies spotted. Ghana has more than 20 public fledged uni and about 350 more universities ( private institution). |
