Check out rivers, cross rivers, Bayelsa and Delta States all have their fare share of acute underdevelopment. What about the south west where Lagos is located. Ondo and Ekiti States are counted as underpriviledged states even though these two state could boast of producing half of all university professors in Nigeria. Abuja the glorified village is even poor in standard of living ranking..

Have been to both cities and infact I just came back from Ghana last week so I'm in the best position to tell which of the city is more beautiful. both Abuja and lagos are beautiful than Accra,which is the bitter truth.atleast this will continue to be so till you get rid of those filthy containers and makeshift wooden structures on your major highways and let your city authorities do some proper zoning like what is obtainable in those Kenya cities maybe after then Accra would stand a chance against lagos before thinking of Abuja.

First of all Accra as a metropolitan has different urban area which can be adjudged as very beautiful, beautiful and less beautiful. Same apply with lagos metropolis. Abuja on the other hand is a baby city, it lacks the aura of what make a beautiful city, and if you think, it is only infrastructure that indicates a beautiful city, then Abuja will be lacking behind some part of lagos metropolis. And likewise accra . And if you think it is historical monument that make adventure meet up with life styles, both lagos and accra also beat Abuja . etc . If that is understood. Let's check accra vs lagos. Both city are highly urbanized and had majority of their national living in them . But when it comes to neatness and cleanliness, accra beat down lagos hands down. One is less congested, it habour a far less population probably than abuja(fCT) itself. That isn't the only reasons, traffic, peace, quality of life Etc.

It is understandable that overpopulated areas of any metropolis are always dirty due to poor planning and serious exploitation of scarce amenities. Check ijora Olopa ,Ijora Badia , some part of Lagos Island , Mushin , Isolo ,Ilasamaja , Mile 2 , and likewise, check new town, nima, kaneshie, tudu, agbogbolshie in Accra . You will realized this place are dirty. But since we are comparing , i am afraid with all the dirty populated area of Accra, the sanitation in Lagos can not be better. Despite lagos with its billons budgets. You see lagos state throwing money at everything and almost all the time the big projects end up as white elephants.Having said that Accra needs a massive face lift which i agree but lagos needs more.

Abuja a baby city is not the only planned city from scratch, Ghana also have Tema( probably the first planned city in west Africa). Comparing accra and abuja is an ignorance comparism in my own opinion. The later is artificially created while the former has a rich history dating back to precolonial era.
