Edo Assembly Election: Edo PDP unable to win election as Obaseki plans to use Labour Party*

In Edo South, both the PDP and APC are seriously wooing Obidents in Egor, Ikpoba Okha and Oredo to see how they can get them to vote their candidates.

Let me make this clear, we have Labour Party members who are mostly politicians and we also have the Obidents, Obidents are non partisan supporters, they choose to support Peter Obi based on their trust and believe in him

The Labour Party members are the partisan ones wanting to use the Obi factor to climb, most of them are from Obaseki’s PDP. Godwin Obaseki took Labour Party as option B during the heat of whose faction would be recognized by INEC as candidates, his or Dan Orbih’s. He(Obaseki) fInally won the fight, but before then he had instructed his followers to purchase nomination form in most constituency for Edo state House of Assembly under Labour Party, he even bought the nomination forms for his appointees in various LGA.

Let’s cite one example, Mr. Richard Edebiri is the Candidate of the Labour Party in Uhunmwode.

He has served as Commissioner for Agriculture to Governor Godwin Obaseki.

He is currently the Local Government Liaison Officer for Uhunmwode appointed by Governor Godwin Obaseki last month.

Obaseki bought the House of Assembly Labour Party nomination form for Richard Edebiri as a second choice if PDP fails.

Now, Godwin Obaseki seems to need the Edo state House of Assembly even more than the Presidency and National Assembly seats , this is to avoid the APC from getting majority in the house, that would of course create a solid legislature that will in turn check the excesses and rascality of the executive arm headed by Obaseki, unlike the dormant and rubber stamp House of Assembly upon which the state currently suffer.

Godwin Obaseki of course does not want this to happen , he will be needing those his Labour Party tickets to emerge in order for him to continue running Edo state government like a personal and private business

I am not asking you not to VOTE your choice, just think about this, we need an effective and a non compromising House of Assembly, PDP is Obaseki’s party, and Labour Party House of Assembly candidates in Edo are his, so if you vote for any of those, it is same dormant Assembly you are voting, they will abandon their constitutional duty of making laws that will better the state and replace it with making laws that will better one man

Now the only party remaining is APC.

My simple advice to the Obidents, let’s have a PDP governor, then check the government with an APC dominated house of Assembly.

Let me use this opportunity to also congratulate Obidents on their victory in electing Edo South Senator and Two House of Reps members.

Now let’s balance the equations.
