Romance / Failure To Find A Sexual Partner Is Now A Disability Says - Who by Vee1Vee1: 8:03am On Oct 22, 2016
Until now, infertility – the failure to achieve pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sex – was not considered a disability.

But now in dramatic move the World Health Organisation will change the standard to suggest that a person who is unable to find a suitable sexual partner or is lacking a sexual relationship to have children – will now be equally classified as disabled.

WHO says the change will give every individual “the right to reproduce”.

Under the new rules, heterosexual single men and women and gay men and women who want to have children will now be given the same priority as a couple seeking IVF because of medical fertility problems.

But critics branded the new laws as “absurd nonsense” arguing that the organisation has overstepped the mark by moving into social matters rather than health.

Gareth Johnson MP, former chair of the All Parliamentary Group on Infertility, whose own children were born thanks to fertility treatment, said: “I’m in general a supporter of IVF. But I’ve never regarded infertility as a disability or a disease but rather a medical matter.

Career / Why New Bloggers Should Not Blog For The Sake Of Adsense by Vee1Vee1: 6:12am On Oct 21, 2016
Undoubtedly Google Adsense is a mainstream source of income for most bloggers and site owners. Adsense is a successful contextual advertising network and delivering ads to publishers since 2003. Every blogger on this planet knows how difficult is to get an approved Google Adsense account these days.

At the same time managing an Adsense account is also not an easy thing. I’ve come up with the following reasons why new bloggers should not blog for the sake of Adsense earnings.

1. Google is very strict when it comes to their Adsense program because they are more concerned about advertisers. They may ban you anytime without notice. Most of the times you couldn’t figure out the actual reasons behind it.

2. The CPC could be low if your site doesn’t attract decent traffic from US and Europe.

3. Adsense is a dream for newbies hailing from India and Pakistan. They have to wait for at least 6 months. But, of course it is not always true.

4. New bloggers upon reaching their threshold payout have to wait for PIN to arrive. It may take several weeks for verification.

5. Click bombing is a type of invalid clicks attack on the sites. Google takes it very seriously and may ban you permanently. So approved publishers must watch their Adsense reports and analytics on daily basis. However, if they found any unusual activity on their site they must report here.

6. Once banned from the program newbies couldn’t withdraw the estimated earnings. Being a publisher you can appeal to them but there are very rare cases where publishers got their Adsense account back. The Adsense support is extremely worse than many other ad networks. Sometimes you may feel that it doesn’t exist.

Reasons why new bloggers run after Google Adsense

1. They assume that they can become millionaires with this program.

Fela, my guy.
If he were alive today, his people would have supported his incarceration at the hands of buhari for political reasons.
They would touted him an enemy of state and a wailer. Afterall, they did the same to the president wife and their own opposition governors.

Politics / Bbc Interview: Aisha Buhari Facing Divorce Threat – Inside Source by Vee1Vee1: 1:08pm On Oct 14, 2016
According to the source who did not want to be named, not only does Aisha’s vocal outbursts go against the expectations of her tradition and religion, her choice of a foreign media platform to air her “grievances” lend credence to claims that she is now actually separated from the President and has chosen the United Kingdom as a possible place of exile barring any attempts to reconcile her differences with President Buhari.

“It’s a delicate situation. There have been issues on ground for some time now which were being managed carefully but the BBC interview seems to be the last straw that has broken the camel’s back. All of this is closely related to the Mamman Daura power tussle which Aisha Buhari is very unhappy about. She believes she has lost her husband to forces and circumstances beyond her control. This is a woman crying for help”, the source said.

Crime / Katsina Emirate: Kidnapped Christian Girl likely Pregnant for Her Muslim Husband by Vee1Vee1: 9:48am On Oct 14, 2016
According to reports coming out from presidential sources, it is widely believed that president Buhari might have adopted the silent approach method, over the abduction and continued detention of a Christian 14yrs old girl by the Emir of Katsina.

The controversial Emir is described as a die-hard loyalist of the president. Whatever the Emir decides is considered legal and binding on every member of his domain.

Sources within the palace have confirmed that the girl in question is probably already pregnant and can’t be released because she is now a housewife to a devoted muslim.

Human right activist are worried about the continued silence of the self proclaimed BBOG activist Obiageli Ezekwesili, she hasn’t said a word since the story of the abducted teenager, came to the Nigerian public. Meanwhile, the CAN chairman of Katsina is doing everything in his capacity to ensure the release of the innocent girl to her family.

Politics / Sen. Ehigie To Buhari: Let The Fight Against Corruption, Start Within Ur Cabinet by Vee1Vee1: 7:37am On Oct 12, 2016
Our nation woke up a few days back with the sensational news of arrest of supreme court judges for alleged corruption in a coordinated sting operation. Huge sums of money in different currencies was alleged to have been found in their possession.

First of all, what is a sting operation? Webster’s dictionary defines a sting operation as a complicated and clever plan that is meant to deceive someone especially in order to catch criminals. It is an elaborate confidence game specifically worked by undercover police in order to trap criminals. From this we draw a first conclusion that these judges are criminals. If indeed there is incontrovertible evidence that these judges are corrupt criminals, the best option would have been to present evidence to NJC, who in turn would sanction them. The operation carried out, definitely was not a sting operation but arrogant show of brute force whose only achievement is debasing of the last bastion of hope of the oppressed with its attendant resultant effect of further alienating the same foreign investors we desperately need for economic growth.

This so called sting operation was carried out in the night and millions of naira; thousands of dollars, pounds and euro was found in the judges’ possession. The questions begging for answers are, how many of these DSS operatives were involved in the operation and how much time did they spend counting the money to have confirmed same? Do we have a scenario here where the huge sum is mentioned to enrage citizens knowing the present state of our economy, and the most newsworthy news is news about sleaze and embezzlement of public funds.

I read a post allegedly from the DSS in which the organisation explained processes leading up to their operation. Among others, they claimed one of the judges collected bribe money from a supermarket while another travelled to a West African country for same purpose of bribe collection. They claimed such information was garnered from discreetly tailing them. Wouldn’t nabbing these judges at such points therefore, have convinced us beyond doubt that these judges are indeed corrupt? Rather their manner of approach to an otherwise laudable effort at fighting corruption, has given so much room for doubt, insinuations and a portrayal of an inexperienced infantile watchdog.

Politics / Hardship: Ebonyi Traders Cry Out "WE’RE MISSING JONATHAN" by Vee1Vee1: 9:03am On Oct 07, 2016
Almost one and a half years after former President Goodluck Jonathan left office, his 2015 campaign posters are still displayed in markets in Ebonyi State, including the over 70-year-old Abakaliki main market.

Speaking to our correspondent on Thursday, one of the traders, Celestine Chikodiri, said the traders resolved to retain the posters as a show of love for the former President.

He said, “We like the way Jonathan ruled us; his government was good, we like the Jonathan administration more than the present government and it is why we decided to leave the posters in the market because we are missing him.

“If you look around the market, you will not see campaign posters of any presidential candidate other than Jonathan’s own.

“The Jonathan administration will not be easily forgotten; things were moving smoothly, our businesses were flourishing, civil and public servants were patronising us,’’ he said.

Romance / I’ve Spent 30 Years Counseling Priests Who Fall In Love by Vee1Vee1: 10:01am On Oct 06, 2016
For Catholic priests, love plays a major professional role. They talk endlessly about the love of God, love for God, God’s love of man, love of neighbor, even love of self, albeit this last one at times disparagingly. The one that lights them up the most, however, is their love of the priesthood, something every priest I know feels deeply.

But the actual mechanics of love between two humans — the many powerful and often conflicted feeling that arise — create problems that are very challenging and deeply personal.

I am a psychologist, and I have spent much of the past three decades dealing with those kinds of problems. The kinds that compel priests’ superiors to send them off for treatment at a facility dedicated to priests. The sample with which I am familiar is biased — it only includes those priests whose behavior has been called into question, and it does not include those involved with minors.

I have dealt extensively with men who have been involved with other adults, both men and women. For the rest, I am sure there are many good men who have navigated the choppy waters of physical attraction with relative aplomb if not ease. In fact, I know some. I take them at their word.

In my first few months of counseling priests, I was shocked at the kinds of mayhem they could cause. I began to wonder why, if so many of them were so unhappy, they didn’t just leave. Over 30 years I learned that the answer is more complicated than it looks — especially when the source of unhappiness is love.

One of the virtues of being a therapist is witnessing human beings up close, or as close as intimate conversation allows. And up close to those priests labeled as “troubled” reveals a sad if complicated story.

Almost uniquely among human occupations, priests cannot marry, as a function of their vocation; nor can they engage in sexual acts, as proscribed by Catholic moral teaching. They live in a world unfamiliar to most of us, a world in which physical attractions and responses are not sought after and celebrated but instead are forbidden. Most people would not and do not volunteer to live in such a world, but men who would be priests do precisely that.

There are lots of reasons for this: a pious upbringing where priests are revered, or a desire to serve, to be special, to stand apart from others, to help humanity. Those are some of the satisfactory reasons. There are other, less benign ones, which a man contemplating the priesthood may not even himself consciously recognize at ordination.

People automatically accord priests a kind of deference available to few other professionals

What are those less benign reasons? Sometimes conflicts over sexual attraction or orientation, childlike shame over any sexual impulse, even limited ability to relate to people outside a structured role. And, paradoxically, a powerful desire for the esteem of others, for affirmation, and, yes, even for love. To be a priest is to be a leader esteemed and loved by Catholics everywhere. Naturally, he is the center of parish life.

Politics / Why Fg Should Not Obey Ecowas Court Ruling By Jude Egbas by Vee1Vee1: 6:34am On Oct 05, 2016
To make the joke even more of a rib cracking one, the ECOWAS court ruled that the Federal Government should pay N15m in damages to Dasuki.

To compensate a man who allegedly diverted $2.1bn earmarked for the purchase of ammunition with another N15m, is the stuff that stand up comedy shows are made of. It’s akin to rewarding the Fox for storming through the barn door and making away with the Hen.

To placate a man with N15m for allegedly ending the lives of hundreds in the war thorn North East, is sick comedy.

Sometimes, these jokes write themselves. And ECOWAS’ ruling should have been funny if it wasn’t so tragic.

The ruling is premised on the alleged arrest of Dasuki by the State without a search warrant.

Online Newspaper Premium Times, reported the ruling this way:

“On Tuesday, a three-member panel led by Justice Friday Nwoke said Nigeria’s government was wrong in arresting Mr. Dasuki without a search warrant, adding that the pattern of arrest negates the provisions of Section 28 of the Nigerian Police Act.

“According to the said section, a superior police officer may authorise the search of a resident belonging to a suspect assumed to be in illegal possession of an item, if the officer so authorised has a search warrant….According to the judge, the search warrant presented before the ECOWAS court was not certified and therefore lacks verifiable authenticity….”

Dasuki is being held for a slew of offences including illegal possession of firearms, corruption and money laundering. To negate all of these alleged crimes and set him free on account of a flawed search warrant will amount to a travesty of justice.

In the past, the Department of State Security (DSS) had said it did have a valid search warrant with it before storming the home of the erstwhile NSA last year.

How ECOWAS will declare that search warrant “uncertified and inauthentic,” should be the subject of another round of litigation and not a call for the outright freedom of the man.

It is also subject to debate if ECOWAS has the jurisdiction to rule in a case before Nigerian courts. Are we out-sourcing our judiciary now? Have we ceased being a sovereign state? Where does the jurisdiction of the Nigerian legal system end and that of ECOWAS begin?

There’s precedence to draw from here:

In May, 2016, IPOB (Independent People of Biafra) leader Nnamdi Kanu, who is being held for secessionist threat and gun-running among other offences, ran to the ECOWAS court as well in a last ditch attempt to evade justice.

In its preliminary objection, the Federal Ministry of Justice, submitted that the sub-regional court lacked, “the requisite jurisdiction” to hear and determine the matter before it.

The government also averred that in running to the ECOWAS court before the domestic courts were given a chance at hearing the defendant’s bail application, Kanu and his counsels were subjecting the Nigerian law to ridicule and abusing the processes of the court.

The government’s objection had also read inter alia: “The corporate existence of Nigeria as a united, harmonious, indivisible and indissoluble sovereign nation is certainly greater than any citizen’s liberty or right……once the security of the nation is in jeopardy…and it survives in pieces rather than in peace, an individual’s liberty or rights may not even exist.

“It is trite law that a court cannot assume jurisdiction over ancillary claims when it has no jurisdiction to entertain the main claim, since an ancillary claim can only be properly determined by that court. Thus, it is improper to approach a court which is incompetent to determine only some of the issues in a case if there is a court with jurisdiction to determine all the issues.”

Career / Take Advantage Of Every Opportunity by Vee1Vee1: 6:14am On Sep 30, 2016
Unfortunately, opportunities don’t last forever. But the good news is that you can take steps to make sure you don’t miss out on something truly life-changing.

1. Say “Yes” more often

Taking advantage of opportunities in life starts with simply saying yes to them when they come around. When I went on a large trip to Asia, I asked several friends to come along. I had many show interest, but in the end they all backed out. Years later, several friends admitted how they felt like they had missed out on an amazing trip and should have come along.

Saying yes to yourself also helps. Great opportunities often come from your own great ideas so don’t say no to them. If you’re negative about yourself, you’ll just limit your own options. This is not a good state of mind to be in.

2. Don’t hesitate

Opportunities are, by definition, short-lived. You need to be quick in order to get the most out of them. For example, I’ve known many men who hesitated to talk to women they were attracted to. They waited for the right time to make their move. However, as they were waiting for the right time, someone else would get there.

Opportunities are not always exclusive to you. Others might be tempted to move in on them if they see them. If you hesitate, you may lose out.

3. Take more risks

Opportunities and risk-taking often go together. And the best ones are often the riskiest. Someone starting up a new business is not only taking a risk, but also taking advantage of an opportunity.

Think back to a time when you were sitting on a couch watching television. How many opportunities came your way? Watching TV is low risk and offers few opportunities. Sometimes, you have to jumpstart those opportunities with a risk or two.

4. Have a positive attitude

Having a positive attitude has several advantages. For one, it helps you succeed when you’re taking a risk. In the example above for a person starting a new business, how far do you think they’ll get if they’re negative during setbacks or they only foresee failure?

Having a positive attitude about your chances of success can give you added confidence.
