MY USER EXPERIENCE/OPINION ON THE REDMI NOTE 5

After using redmi note 5 for a few days.. Here are my thoughts!
It's a pretty phone (i got the rose gold). The battery backup is amazing. I am a heavy user, yet it takes me through the entire day (on 3g network), and i would still have 25-30% battery left by the time i get home.

The camera is good also.I love the fact that the front camera has a flash to take great photos at night.
It has some amazing features which makes for an overall user experience enjoyable.

Now, to what i want everyone to be aware of (because people just come here, say "I am now a proud owner of xiaomi..." and boom! Off they go, without dropping any review to help prospective buyers decide if its what they want.

Before anyone comes for me, asking if am expecting flagship features on a $130 device, take a few moments to ponder on all i will point out here.

1.There are a lot of ads in the phone's system apps.. Themes, wallpaper, fole manager, music app, video app, security etc.It's like MTN, it's everywhere you go on the phone. I had to read up a thread on the miui forum on how to turn off ads.

Now that's really low from xiaomi! I have used devices, from the high end flagships to feature phones, never have i encountered ads in the stock music player or other system apps.Like the phone has already been paid for, so why the ads? Even apps with pro versions gives the user an ad free experience after paying.

One day xiaomi may roll out an update and you find the option to turn off ads missing, then what next? The user gets stuck with a phone that has ads everywhere.

2.The audio output when using earphones is beyond poor on my device. This isn't an issue of "change your headphone. I am an audiophile so I don't slack on buying good earphones. As soon as music is turned on, through the speakers or headphones..

I can observe that there is no clarity. The voice of the singers come off as croaky and muffled,with a lot of noise. I tried my senheisser mx 365 earphone, a langsdom headphone, a sony headphone and lastly zealot sparkle.. It was the same. I went on miui forum, a lot of people were having the same issue even as far back as march.

The mi audio enhancer/equalizer is of no use. It seems to normalize a bit after you have listened to music with it for a while. Still you can't get that crispy clearness. I recently got a tecno torchlight phone that uses memory card for N3800.

I transfered some songs there and the audio output was clearer and way better than the xiaomi redmi note 5.That's a big let down because i listen to music daily. I have sent a feedback to xiaomi, and included audio logs report. I doubt if they will ever address that issue.

I am hoping it's something an update can fix, I am on Miui 10 right now, but i am not even ready to update the device for fear of the unknown.

3.The updates rolled out have bugs. Even the "stable versions" are not so stable. You update to a new version.

You discover your camera functions differently, pictures are unclear, some functions have disappeared, volume is low or your battery drains fast. With the issues relating to updates i read about, i am not even sure i want to update my device to avoid saying "had i known"!

4.It doesn't display glo network messages fully. When i dial
*127*0# to check data, on gionee m6 and samsung S8,the pop up message from Glo about my data balance is displayed fully. I never experience any issue with that using those phones. On the Redmi note 5 , the message is slashed and just one third of it is displayed with the heading "class zero message".. I run two to three data plans concurrently, glo night plan, weekend plan and normal monthly..

I don't get to see my balance for about two of them , just the active one shows whoke d remaining is slashed out. I placed my sim on other phones and i got tbe full message, so i know it's a xiaomi issue.

5.The stock music player doesn't play .wma files, and the stock video player doesn't play. mkv files

These have been my observations so far.. Ita pretty phone, battery lasts long and the pictures are pretty decent for the price. The audio clarity issue is a big turn off. I won't be using this phone for long because of that.

I bought two mi powerbanks from Macbeyland and I am very impressed. The fast charge on the powerbanks charges even faster than the follow come charger. The implication however is that I must buy a fast charger for my note 5pro and also one for the mi powerbanks. Cos what does it profit a man to buy devices that has fast charge and use slow chargers. Attached are pics... The first is the quick charge with the powerbanks and the second is normal charge with the xiaomi charger

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos failed a doping test after the Champions League Final against Juventus, but was not punished, according to Football Leaks.

The defender tested positive for a banned substance following the 4-1 Final result on June 3, 2017.

It was, according to Der Spiegel, L’Espresso and other sources in the Football Leaks group of media sources, not the first time that Real Madrid had problems with doping tests.

The report suggests UEFA accepted an ‘apology’ and explanation from the club as justification for the failed test and took no further action.

Ramos tested positive for Desametasone, which can be used as long as UEFA are informed ahead of time.

Real Madrid instead told UEFA that he had been given Celestone Chronodose, and the chief medic took full responsibility for the ‘error.’

The problem, according to the Football Leaks report, is that another problem had already happened in February 2017.

A surprise doping test at the Real Madrid training ground sparked tension among the squad and eventually the players only went ahead with the tests when performed by the club medical staff.

This is against the rules, yet UEFA accepted the results, as Real insisted the anti-doping staff sent were not ‘professional’ enough.

download through the link my oga Acekid109 dropped, copy the downloaded zip into a new folder under your internal memory named "downloaded_rom. Go back to your updater app, click the 3 dots at the top right corner and select update through package or so ...( The third option sha) you will be directed to select the file you want to update with. Locate the folder you named and voila

It's either you use both slots for SIM cards or you use one sim card and mnc. You can however use sim card adapter to enable you use all 3 - 2 sim cards and mmc
