jeniver64: Did your secondary school issue you a statement of result? If they did and if this statement doesn't reflect your date of birth, you might wanna try taking this with you for your interview instead of your WAEC certificate. 1 Like |

gunther6: It was in the news yesterday. Headlines of most of the dailies. The official 197 naira rate has been proscribed by the CBN in favor of the dynamic parallel rate governed by market forces. |

zollar4life: Hi, 1 and 2 - If your new POI is in the department yet to offer you admission, I don't see any harm in writing to her as a prospective RA. It could help with your admission to that other degree. In this case, I personally think you should do that as soon as possible without waiting for your I-20. If this professor is in the department for which you already have an admission, I think you might want to notify your currently assigned supervisor, if any, that you would like to change. This could cause bad blood and I'm not sure exactly how you can do this. In this other scenario, I suggest you chill and wait for your I-20 before you switch. You might want to contact the new supervisor though and see if the interest is mutual. 3 - I think you need to contact your school's Intl students office. From my personal experience with dual degree admission offers, the offer comes once as a joint offer and with a single I-20 I.e. you cannot get admitted to one while the other decision remains pending. However, clearly your school has a different policy given that you were sent separate admissions by each program. I think the Intl office can help clarify what you should expect. |

Hello everyone, Great job you guys have done, in disseminating information on the entire US grad school application process. I have gained so much perusing this and the previous thread parts for a while now and I hope to also provide useful feedback which others may find useful. My question is concerning the payment of the MRV fee. I completed my applications for Fall 2016 and I've been admitted with my I-20 on the way(should be here next Friday or slightly later) and I want to know if I can go ahead and pay the MRV fee this week (like today or tomorrow) considering the site says the present fee rate expires on May 23. Is it possible to pay for the MRV fee without the I-20? Also I'd like to know if there is any time restriction to schedule your interview from the day you pay your MRV fee, for instance, is there some rule that says you must use the UID or receipt number or something within xyz days? Thank you. |
