The Lagos State Government has sealed off Dominion Pizza, located at No. 38B, Freedom Way, Lekki, Eti-Osa, over the indiscriminate discharge of untreated sewage into the environment and public drainage channels. The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Barrister Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this via his official social media platforms, noting that the enforcement action was carried out by the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) on Wednesday, May 12, 2026. According to the Commissioner, the action followed a complaint received from a concerned resident and a thorough investigation by the Agency, which revealed that untreated wastewater from an overfilled septic tank was being discharged from the facility’s sewage chamber into the surrounding environment. He reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State Government to environmental sustainability, public safety, and strict enforcement of sanitation laws across the state, warning that any individual or organisation found violating environmental regulations would face appropriate sanctions and possible prosecution in line with the provisions of the law. Governor Dauda Lawal has commended the troops of the Joint Task Force (North West) Operation Fansan Yamma for achieving significant operational successes against bandits in Zamfara State. The troops of the Joint Task Force launched an elaborate and coordinated onslaught in the early hours of Thursday, May 7, 2026, in the Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas of Zamfara State. Following the encounter, troops effectively neutralised three gang leaders and recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition, which included an AK-47 rifle, a machine gun, a locally fabricated handgun, seven rifle magazines and a total of 571 rounds of ammunition. Governor Lawal described the renewed military offensive as timely, particularly due to the successful operation recorded on May 10, 2026, which disrupted a significant gathering of notorious terrorist leaders and neutralised several commanders. The troops acted on an intelligence report that confirmed that the terrorists had converged at a concealed location in Tumfa Village, Shinkafi Local Government Area, with the intention to coordinate attacks and criminal activities targeting innocent communities in the state. The Air Component launched a precision airstrike on the identified terrorist hideout that successfully destroyed the structure, which served as the terrorists' meeting point. The governor further reiterates Zamfara State Government's commitment to ongoing support and logistics for the military and other security agencies operating in the state.

By Daniel Obaje/Safia Abdulrahman Princess Nikky Onyeri, National Convener of Forum of 2027 APC Female Aspirants Network (FAFAN), has appealed to Nigerian women to remain patience with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying the president is working tirelessly to address challenges facing the country. Onyeri made the appeal on Friday in Abuja at an event organised to endorse Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections. She said the endorsement is also aimed at showcasing the growing participation and capacity of women in politics, including women living with disabilities. “The President, I can assure you, is working and you will feel more of his impact. The women should exercise just have a little patience and continue to give him their unwavering support. “He is not sleeping, rather, he is working round the clock to make sure that all the nooks and corners of this country feel his impact. “But don’t forget that our President has funded governors significantly, so governors should also be held accountable because they are closer to the people in their communities.” Onyeri said the endorsement for Tinubu’s re-election is in recognition of what she described as the hugely effective of the Renewed Hope Agenda, especially on women across the country. She also noted that the event also marked a new phase for women in politics, with more than 500 women showing interest in elective positions under the All Progressives Congress (APC). ``We gathered and contributed our money to orgarnise this event to strengthen the ongoing reforms and encourage more Nigerian women to join us, especially at grass roots level. “This is the first time you would have more than 500 women stepping out with courage, compassion and resilience to say they want to contest for political positions. “We are saying that women who have collected forms and have the capacity should be given tickets, while affirmative action should also be considered in elective positions, appointive positions and party structures.” She urged women in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to support one another in unity and to mobilise grassroots support for the president ahead of the 2027 elections. Onyeri added that the group is also promoting inclusiveness by encouraging the participation of youths and persons living with disabilities in politics. “The leader of people living with disability is running for Senate in Kaduna State. That tells you this is the pursuit of inclusivity. “That is what our party is about. That is why we are talking about women, youths and people living with disabilities, we are all moving together,” she said. She, thereafter, called for increased empowerment programmes, improved welfare and greater representation of women in election and government appointments. Also speaking, Mrs Edna Azura, President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), urged female aspirants to intensify grassroots mobilisation and support one another to improve women’s participation in politics. Azura said women had begun changing the narrative by organising trainings, workshops and strategic engagements aimed at strengthening political inclusion and unity among women. “As you heard from the various speakers, female aspirants were advised to go to the grassroots and campaign house-to-house and also seek support from fellow women because they cannot do it alone. “In the past, women were said not to be active at the grassroots and women themselves did not support one another, but this time we have changed the narrative.” Azura said that women are now adopting more strategic approaches to politics, including fundraising and coordinated campaigns to support female aspirants. “We have had series of trainings and workshops to educate women on inclusivity, speaking with one voice and sourcing funds before venturing into politics. “We are behaving like the men now, we meet, strategise and source support for female aspirants so that they can make headway.” She commended Tinubu for appointing women into key positions and supporting initiatives aimed at improving women’s economic wellbeing. “He has appointed many women as ministers, board members, special advisers and in several other positions. “He has also supported women financially in many areas that can boost their income. “But we are still pleading with him to support the passage of the special seats bill at the National Assembly because that will help women move closer to the 35 per cent affirmative action,” she said. Mrs Nkiruka Onyejeocha, Minister of state for Labor and Employment, urged women to come out en mass to support their fellow women, while laying emphasis on the importance of early campaign. ``I have come to you today to tell you that I am in full support of this administration, `Our father Mr President has given us the chance, but we have to do the needful. ``We have to go to the grassroots and campaign, not with fake promises but with promises of meeting the needs of our people.’’ Sen. Ahmed Wada represented by his Senior Legislative aide Mr Ismaila Nuhu, said that they are in full support for women having high positions in policy decision-making. ``We are advocating for gender equality by encouraging more women to support our dear president. ``We also plead for policies that will give critical positions for our women at various levels particularly at national, state and local government levels. The APC national women leader Mary Alile represented by a Commissioner from Cross River State, Mrs Mary Julius noted that APC women stand firmly behind the Tinubu administration. ``We believe in continuity, stability, and purposeful leadership. ``Our gathering today is for greater support for female aspirants within our party and across the nation. ``Women are not just voters; women are builders of homes, communities, businesses, and the nation itself. We have the competence, the capacity, the intelligence, and the compassion needed in leadership.

The founding leaders of the Allied People’s Movement, APM are leaving no stone unturned to reclaim rightful ownership of the party which was said to have been established by the pioneer BOT Chairman and current National Chairman of the party, Muhammad Musa Bagana. This medium gathers that attempt is being made to institute another legal battle to stop the factional chairman of the party, Alhaji Yusuf Mamman Dantale from parading self as National Chairman of the party aside the pending case in the apex court. Alhaji Yusuf Mamman Dantale, the factional chairman and Chairman of Inter Party Advisory Council, IPAC is being challenged at the Supreme Court after the appallate court set aside the Federal High Court Judgement which recognizes Bagana’s faction as the legal executive council. The case is said to be pending at the Supreme Court for almost a year now. It was authoritatively gathers that series of meetings are being held in Abuja to stop what they described as “illegal immigrants ‘ into the APM. “the case with Dantale is purely a political fraud. And an attempt by the some governors to further polarized the APM will be resisted with all legal means possible. Muhammad Bello, the spokesperson of the Bagana led chairmanship told our Correspondent in a telephone conversation, stressing that his party will resist any attempt to commercialize democracy. Two current Governors, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State have declared their membership for the APM. This move is described as waste of resources as the party factional leaders denounces their membership, stressing that Dantale has no legal right to parade itself as the National Chairman of the party. If information at the disposal of our medium is anything to go by, the Bagana led faction will at any moment from now address a World Press Conference to herald the renewed battle for ownership of APM. This new litigation may signpost a process that could ruin the political calculation of the likes of Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed who on Thursday picked nomination Form to contest for Senate and other aggrieved governors and politicians who are said to be lured into the party by the Dantale led faction. As it stands, Bala Mohammed’s political journey to APM may however be stamped by FCT Minister Nyeson Wike’s expensive joke of ” I will put fire in Bauchi”. Or maybe, Bala Mohammed’s response to Wike. “You’re a small boy in politics” will save the Kauran Bauchi’s new political alignment. This heavily pregnant political realignment will deliver a shocking baby with time. The country is indeed pregnant with political conundrum.

Thousands of Eti-Osa residents in Lagos at the weekend declared their support for President Bola Tinubu, governorship hopeful Obafemi Hamzat and a member of the State House of Assembly, Noheem Adams ahead of the forthcoming elections. Those who attended the event included the Central Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Eti-Osa headed by Engr. Murphy Adetoro, a member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC). Others are the chairmen of the three local government areas of Eti-Osa constituency 1, APC ward chairmen, traditional rulers and the Lekki Residents Association who had all earlier adopted Adams, a majority leader of the Lagos Assembly, as the party's consensus in the area. Speaking at the event, the Central Working Committee declared 'no vacancy' at the presidency and the House of Assembly while maintaining its support for Hamzat as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's successor. They declared that unlike in 2023, Tinubu will win Lagos in 2027 as the people have become more resolute in their support for the president. Commending the crowd at the rally, Adetoro said the Central Working Committee of APC in Eti-Osa axis and all the LG chairmen in the constituency had written to the party endorsing Noheem Adams "Thus, on the day of the primaries, we will all be behind him. What we are doing today is a rehearsal of what is going to happen on the day of the primary election," he said. "We are publicly declaring our support for President Tinubu whose achievements speak volumes. We have also started working to ensure the victory of Engr. Obafemi Hamzat who will take over from our active governor. "Some days ago, we all wrote to the APC leadership in Lagos endorsing our son, Noheem Adams, as consensus. "We are again confirming our decision that he remains our Recognised candidate. We have seen what he has done at the House of Assembly and we can attest to the fact that he has done wonders, beyond our expectations," he said. Another leader and former lawmaker, Yahaya Dosunmu, expressed hope that the next Speaker would emerge from the constituency. "If we have number one and two outside, we are supposed to have three. "I have been attending campaigns since I was 30, but this level of support is exceptional and confirmation that you truly love Noheem and are ready to continue to support him at the primary and general elections," he said. On his part, Alhaji Sulyman Bello, President of the Lekki Estates Residents and Stakeholders Association (LERSA), said the lawmaker enjoys the support of the entire residents of the constituency. According to him, Adams has become a rallying point for residents in Eti-Osa. "What many do not understand is that Noheem Adams is not just for Eti-Osa but the entire Lagos State. There was an estate that was to be demolished. He stood for us and ensured that the estate was not demolished. "With his position at the House, it is dangerous to send a fresh member. By God's special grace, we want to see him beyond the seat of Majority Leader," he declared before the crowd while confirming an earlier letter the association sent to the APC endorsing him. Meanwhile, the Arewa group in the constituency said they had mobilised 1500 members from the three councils in the area to support the lawmaker. In his remark, Adams thanked the leaders, traditional rulers and constituents for their support describing the endorsement as a challenge to do more when re-elected. He also thanked Tinubu for opening up the constituency with a coastal road adding that this feat has earned the President "massive love from the people of my area."
