Founder and Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has reacted to reports that the Liberian government raised concerns with Nigerian authorities over his prophecies concerning Liberia and its leadership. The cleric insisted that Liberian President Joseph Nyuma Boakai should focus on addressing the challenges facing his country rather than criticising prophetic messages. He also declared that the President would not secure a second term in office. Primate Ayodele's response followed reports that the Government of Liberia allegedly sent a letter to the Nigerian government expressing dissatisfaction with what it described as recurring negative prophecies about President Boakai, his administration, and the Liberian people. According to the reported complaint, the prophecies, circulated through publications and videos, allegedly fuel anti-Nigerian sentiments among some Liberians and could threaten peace and stability in the country. The Liberian government also reportedly accused the cleric of involving himself in the country's political affairs during the 2023 presidential election by publicly supporting one of the candidates. While acknowledging Nigeria's commitment to freedom of expression and religious liberty, Liberia reportedly urged Nigerian authorities to exercise caution regarding statements made about friendly nations and to take appropriate action where necessary. However, reports indicated that Nigeria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs distanced itself from the matter. The ministry reportedly maintained that the issue falls outside its constitutional and diplomatic responsibilities. The ministry also emphasised that the Nigerian government does not censor citizens' views provided such expressions do not violate the law. Furthermore, it reportedly described the complaint as a private matter and reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to its longstanding bilateral relationship with Liberia. Reacting to the development, Ayodele defended his prophetic record and recalled his prediction of the defeat of former Liberian President George Weah during the 2023 election. "I warned George Weah and told him that if the election went into a second round, he would lose. That prophecy came to pass," he said. The cleric argued that his prophecies are not politically motivated. Instead, he described them as divine messages intended to guide leaders and nations. Ayodele also questioned President Boakai's decision to focus attention on his prophecies rather than on governance and national development. "You are talking when your country has serious issues to deal with. Instead of concentrating on Liberia's problems, you are analysing my prophecies," he stated. Despite the controversy, the cleric maintained that he would continue to speak on developments concerning Liberia whenever he receives divine revealations from the throne of God. He also issued a fresh prediction regarding President Boakai's political future. "Don't worry yourself about a second term because you have already lost it," Ayodele declared. The cleric reiterated that his prophecies serve as warnings and guidance. According to him, leaders who pay attention to divine counsel often avoid looming challenges, while those who ignore such warnings risk facing the consequences.

Ahead of the 2027 election, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Agege Constituency I in the Lagos Assembly, Oluwagbenga Abiola, has urged party to throw out a petition by his contender, Kola Egunjobi for lack of merit and violation of due process. He said Egunjobi's petition was a desperate and meritless attempt to mislead party leaders and distort the facts surrounding the recently concluded primary election of the party. Abiola, in a statement on Friday, maintained that the claims contained in the petition by Egunjobi "are fictional, false, inaccurate, misleading, unsubstantiated, and amount to nothing more than the rantings of a sponsored political loser unwilling to accept the outcome of the party's internal processes. "The so-called petition lacks compliance with basic institutional due process and fails to satisfy the minimum requirements expected of any serious complaint brought before the party," he said. Egunjobi, a former council chairman, had claimed that he won the primary election. However, Abiola, popularly called Agbelebu, argued that the petition violated the party's nomination guidelines governing House of Assembly primary elections and is equally inconsistent with relevant provisions of the APC Constitution and the Electoral Act. "The petition does not meet the threshold of a complaint deserving of consideration by any serious institution. It lacks substance, lacks merit, and should be thrown out in its entirety," Abiola stated. He maintained that the APC remains a party founded on rules, due process, and internal democracy, and therefore should not be allowed to be distracted by petitions that fail to comply with established procedures and legal requirements. Abiola expressed confidence that the National Working Committee would carefully examine the issues around the primary election before arriving at a decision guided by the party's constitution, its guidelines, and principles of fairness and justice. "This stunt will never work. Truth has prevailed, and no amount of misinformation or propaganda can change that fact," he said.

The Commandant General (CG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, has reaffirmed that the Corps occupies a distinct and indispensable role within the nation’s security architecture. Professor Audi stated this while declaring open a two-day strategic training workshop on the implementation of operational deliverables and research methodology. According to the CG, the NSCDC’s core mandates including the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, disaster management, intelligence gathering and community engagement, place it in a unique position that no other security agency can replicate. “This programme is designed to drive the adoption of research methodology and digitalisation as critical enablers for achieving our operational deliverables, fully aligned with the Presidential Priorities,” Professor Audi explained. He noted that the initiative underscores management’s commitment to strengthening institutional capacity through innovation, technology, and evidence-based decision-making. The CG further stressed that contemporary security challenges demand analytical solutions, urging personnel to look beyond field competence and acquire the skills needed to identify problems, conduct research, and develop practical solutions. “The knowledge gained must translate into visible, measurable improvements in service delivery across all formations of the Corps,” he added. Earlier in the event, the Commandant in charge of Planning, Research, and Statistics, Commandant Peter Okloho, reminded participants that the Federal Government assesses the NSCDC strictly on its statutory deliverables. He charged officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in their reporting following the training. Similarly, the Head of the Critical Thinking, Research, and Innovation Unit (CTRIU), Dr. Ogunshola Folashade, observed that navigating today’s dynamic security environment requires a blend of field competence and critical thinking. She outlined the training’s scope to include implementation strategies for operational deliverables, research methodology, strategic communication, advanced report writing, and institutional best practices. A major highlight of the workshop was the formal induction and administration of the Oath of Allegiance to newly appointed CTRI desk officers, conducted by the NSCDC Head of Legal Services, Commandant Bamiyo Akomolafe. By Adeyemi Obadimu A Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on the 1st of June 2026 awarded 16 million naira damages against Access Bank Plc for unlawfully placing post-no-debit restrictions on the accounts of some of its customers without sufficient legal justification in a suit marked FHC/L/CS/878/2023. In a judgment delivered by Honourable Justice Chukwujekwu Joseph Aneke after considering the arguments of the plaintiffs and the defence presented by Access Bank, the court made several findings regarding the legality of restrictions placed on the accounts of the plaintiffs over alleged cryptocurrency-related transactions. The judge held that the first plaintiff had no contractual relationship whatsoever with Access Bank and therefore could not maintain an action against the bank. Consequently, the bank was found not liable to the first plaintiff. However, the court found that the second and third plaintiffs did not engage in cryptocurrency trading in Nigeria and that there was no valid basis for placing restrictions on their accounts merely because they had received funds linked to the first plaintiff. Justice Aneke noted that the evidence before it showed that the first plaintiff conducted cryptocurrency-related business outside Nigeria, particularly in the Benin Republic, where such transactions were not shown to be illegal. The court further held that funds transferred to the second, third, fourth and fifth plaintiffs were made for valuable consideration and that there was no evidence establishing their involvement in any unlawful cryptocurrency activities. While reviewing the restrictions placed on the accounts, the court emphasized that banks are regulated by law in imposing post-no-debit restrictions and cannot arbitrarily freeze customers' accounts without proper legal authority. The court agreed that where there is a valid court order, financial institutions are obligated to obey such orders until they are set aside by a competent court. In the case of the second plaintiff, the court found that Access Bank wrongfully maintained restrictions on his account despite the absence of any evidence linking him to cryptocurrency trading. The court consequently awarded 5 million naira as damages in her favour and ordered the immediate removal of all restrictions on the account. The court also examined the circumstances surrounding the fourth plaintiff and described his situation as particularly unfortunate. According to the judgment, funds were mistakenly transferred into his account, and there was no allegation that he fraudulently obtained or utilized the money. Although a customary court had merely ordered a reversal of the erroneous payment, Access Bank proceeded to place a post-no-debit restriction on the account without any court order authorizing such action. Honourable Justice Aneke ruled that the restriction imposed on the fourth plaintiff's account was unlawful and awarded him N10 million in damages, while directing the bank to immediately lift the restriction. Regarding the third plaintiff, the court acknowledged that an earlier court order had justified the initial restriction on the account. However, the judge observed that no evidence was presented showing that the plaintiff was being prosecuted for any criminal offence. Relying on the constitutional principle of the presumption of innocence, the court held that the continued restriction could no longer be justified. The judge also noted that the fifth plaintiff was not involved in cryptocurrency trading and took judicial notice of the fact that the restriction on his account had already been removed. In its final observations, the judge stated that no evidence was presented to show that Access Bank restricted the accounts of the affected customers based on suspicious transaction volumes. Rather, the restrictions were imposed solely because of alleged links to cryptocurrency transactions and purported court orders. The judge subsequently awarded damages in favour of the affected plaintiffs and further ordered Access Bank to pay N500,000 each as costs to the second and fourth plaintiffs. The judgment reinforces the principle that banks must act strictly within the confines of the law when restricting customers' access to their funds and that citizens cannot be punished through indefinite account restrictions without proper legal backing or proof of wrongdoing. https://newsextra.com.ng/court-slams-access-bank-over-unlawful-account-restrictions-awards-n16-million-damages-to-customers/

Three families namely Adegbose, Oluodo, and Sekumade Royal Families have called on the federal government to intervene in a landed property scuffle involving about 106 acres in Ikorodu. The families, accused FRCN of invading their properties with thugs and security operatives despite a court ruling that confirmed them as the rightful owners of the properties. While speaking to journalists, Baale Taiwo Idowu from Adegbose Family explained that some families, who don’t have any share in the landed properties informed FRCN wrongly that they are selling government properties, which led to the government agency taking the matter to court. Baale Taiwo narrated that they had already donated landed properties to the government years ago and there is an official government gazette that confirms the number of properties the government acquired among their properties. He noted that at some point, the government agencies tried to possess some of the properties that were not part of the original acquisition but when the families approached the court, they ruled in their favour and asked the agencies to remain on the original acquired properties. “Government collect 151.583 acres from three families but later, we discovered they were using other portion of the properties which wasn’t part of the acquisition and that’s why we went to court. When we went to court, the judge asked for the documents and asked them to remain on the original acquition while we were allowed to take over our over 106 acres. When we were given the judgment, we took the government gazette to surveyor general’s office. They did pillar on the government properties and it was differentiated.” The traditional chief mentioned the families that informed the FRCN wrongly, explaining that they are doing that out of spite because they refused to join them in a suit some years back. “Some police officers and some individuals named Asajan, Ajako, in conjunction with Wasiu Esinlokun, Seun Kalejaiye, Wale Shokunbi alleged have been disturbing us on our landed property. “They don’t have landed property there, and we know they are involved because they have been in court for years about a landed property acquired by the government. They wrote to the court that they want our families to join them in the suit but we declined because it’s the government property. The court gave us ruling that our land is different from what they are fighting for.” “After they gave us the ruling and freed us, they looked for what to do to ensure that the community that hosts our landed properties don’t know peace. They lied that we are selling government properties; they have written to several police divisions, and they even arrested some of those that we sold landed properties to and took them to Abuja. They couldn’t nail them for any crime and had to release them.” The families further requested that the government enforces the court judgment so that those they sold land to will be able to work on them. “What we want is the enforcement of the court judgement so that those we sold lands to can be able to use it. We want the government not to allow these miscreants have their way. We have gone to Abuja and the police have made us know that it is not their jurisdiction. We want the government to help us stop them.” Reacting to the allegations, FRCN, in a statement signed by its Assistant Director, Legal, Hindu J. Abashiya, dismissed the allegations as “baseless, clearly false and totally unfounded.” "The allegations, if truly made, by Sekumade, Adegbose and Oluodo families are completely baseless, clearly false and totally unfounded. The Land in question was acquired by the Federal Government of Nigeria for FRCN Transmitting Station. The land, measuring 151.6 acres of land, was acquired in 1962, for Nigerian Broadcasting Commission, NBC, which took possession, fenced the Land and erected communication masts thereon. Some of the masts are still there till date". "In 1974, the Federal Government acquired additional land for NBC in the same location and all the land were fenced together". "The three families were duly compensated for this acquisition, based on the size of land acquired from each family". https://newsextra.com.ng/families-seek-fg-intervention-over-alleged-frcn-land-encroachment-in-ikorodu/

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has read a riot act to economic saboteurs and vandals across the country, stating unequivocally that there is no hiding place for vandals who prey on the nation's commonwealth and national critical assets. While addressing the media in his Abuja office, the NSCDC boss disclosed that; his leadership will smoke them out of their hiding spots and make them face the full wrath of the law. He further disclosed that; the NSCDC has secured a sweeping court order and have sealed all operational branches of Inner Galaxy Steel Company and Jiuxing Integrity Industrial Ltd nationwide for railway materials vandalism and other grave infractions. Issuing a strict directive to the Commandant in charge of the Special Intelligence Squad, Appollos Dandaura, the CG ensured that operatives maintain absolute diligence and professionalism throughout this high-impact operation, declaring that every single suspect found culpable in this bleeding of the nation’s commonwealth will face the full wrath of the law. This landmark action follows the recent exposure of a highly sophisticated syndicate allegedly responsible for the systematic vandalism and theft of Nigeria’s critical public infrastructure, including railway lines, power transmission equipment and telecommunications assets, with authorities now linking the stolen materials to an industrial-scale recycling operation run by the steel companies and proceeds suspected of financing terrorist activities. Armed with valid search warrants and the newly secured court order, operatives from the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad stormed the Birnin Yero facility in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where they recovered large quantities of railway sleepers, steel tracks and other vandalized infrastructure components, all of which have been officially secured and transferred to the Nigerian Railway Corporation to be preserved as vital exhibits for the impending prosecution. According to confessions extracted from arrested staff, the syndicate operated a well-coordinated logistics network, routinely transporting vandalized national infrastructure from various attack sites to the company’s headquarters in Aba, Abia State, as well as to other branches, where the stolen steel was melted down in industrial furnaces and recycled into commercial products including nails, roofing sheets, and reinforcement bars sold to unsuspecting members of the public. Suspects linked to the syndicate are now facing a raft of severe criminal allegations, including conspiracy to commit felony and theft, intentional endangering of the safety of persons traveling by railway, obstruction, injury, and damage to railway infrastructure, failure to give notice or information to a public officer, dishonestly receiving and assisting in the concealment of stolen property, and giving support and financing to terrorist groups for the commission of acts of terrorism. Consequent upon the discoveries in Kaduna and further intelligence gathering, the closure and investigation orders have been extended to cover the headquarters of Inner Galaxy Steel Company and Jiuxing Integrity Industrial Ltd in Ahala Ukwa Village, Umuahala Community, Obuzor Ukwu, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, as well as the northern hub in Tasha Rawayyah, Gusau, Zamfara State, along with all other branches and subsidiaries nationwide. The NSCDC has formally summoned the Chinese nationals involved in the management of the industrial complex; however, they are yet to appear before investigators, raising potential diplomatic and legal complexities, though the CG reaffirmed that the NSCDC remains fiercely committed to reducing infrastructure vandalism to the absolute minimum. The Corps expressed profound gratitude to the judiciary for the swift granting of these legal instruments, which prevented further interference with crucial evidence, and also commended the press for their vital partnership in shining a bright light on these economic crimes, ensuring transparency and public accountability. Members of the public are strongly urged to continue collaborating with the Corps by sharing credible, timely information to help bring an end to infrastructure theft across Nigeria. https://newsextra.com.ng/nscdc-shut-inner-galaxy-steel-factory-after-infrastructure-theft-burst/

…Foundation Touches Over 8,000 Women, Widows, and Youth in Ondo State….. …Collaborates with International Partners for Free Skill Acquisition in Canada… For Chief Mrs. Olajumoke Abegunde, the act of touching lives positively and contributing meaningfully to societal development is not merely a pastime but a deeply ingrained existential mandate. With unwavering gusto, she has remained faithful to this noble vision, championing the esoteric principle that cheerful giving and advocacy for the downtrodden are responsibilities too sacred to be left exclusively in the hands of the government. This resolute philosophy has not only engendered transformative impact within her immediate locality but has also catapulted her onto the global stage. Recently, her passionate charitable exertions—executed both within and outside the shores of Nigeria—earned her prestigious international recognition. A Legacy of Grassroots Transformation As the visionary founder of the Jummy I Care Foundation, Chief Mrs. Abegunde has systematically dismantled barriers of vulnerability across Ondo State. Through sustained philanthropic gestures, she has disbursed extensive humanitarian relief and social assistance to over 3,000 indigent widows and elderly persons. In parallel, her foundation has galvanized robust support for orphaned and vulnerable children while orchestrating an ambitious women’s empowerment programme. To date, over 5,000 women have benefited from skills acquisition and income-generating activities designed to cultivate self-reliance and entrepreneurial audacity. Many of these beneficiaries have also received start-up seed capital to establish their own enterprises. A proud alumna of Criminology and Security Studies from the National Open University of Nigeria, Chief Mrs. Abegunde has also distinguished herself as a patron of youth development. She has sponsored numerous essay writing and entrepreneurship competitions across Ondo State, in addition to funding medical outreaches, orphanage interventions, Iftar and Easter entrepreneurship programmes, and sustained feeding initiatives for the less privileged. Her core philosophy remains immutable: when those who are well-to-do invest strategically in their immediate society, the collective becomes safer, more stable, and poised for greater heights. International Collaboration and Brampton Honour In a decisive move to intensify her developmental footprint, the Jummy I Care Foundation recently entered into a strategic tripartite collaboration with the Habeeb Okunola Foundation and the MakeMee Elegant Foundation. Together, they delivered a gratuitous, high-impact skill acquisition training programme to residents of Brampton, Canada. Participants were immersed in an array of artisan crafts, including the production of resin bags, photo books, picture otters, resin key holders and frame holders, ornamental flower vases, rhinestone embellishment, and the advanced technique of printing images on fabrics. In a ceremonial recognition of her sustained benevolence, the Mayor of Brampton formally hosted Chief Mrs. Abegunde and her delegation at the mayor’s office. The mayor personally expressed profound gratitude for her unwavering support of community development and entrepreneurship. As a tangible emblem of this appreciation, she was presented with a personally signed certificate of appreciation and commendation. Unwavering Commitment to the Future While accepting the honour, Chief Mrs. Olajumoke Abegunde reaffirmed her immutable resolve. She declared that her commitment to touching lives remains absolute and non-negotiable. According to her, she will not relent in ensuring that more lives are touched, more support is channeled to the people, and greater stability is secured for communities. She further emphasized her dedication to cultivating the spirit of entrepreneurship among women and youths as a cornerstone for sustainable development. With over 8,000 direct beneficiaries in Nigeria alone and an expanding international footprint, Chief Mrs. Abegunde stands as a formidable testament to the profound change one determined philanthropist can effectuate when passion meets purpose.

The majority leader of the Lagos House of Assembly, Noheem Adams, on Friday raised alarm over alleged plans by some people to manipulate the result of the primary election that produced him as a candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Adams reportedly won the primary election of the party to produce a candidate for the House of Assembly in Eti-Osa Constituency 1 on Wednesday after polling 7,638 against his opponent's 1225 votes. Speaking to thousands of APC supporters during a Victory March, Adams said accused a top monarch (name withheld) in Eti-Osa of being behind the plan to doctor the result in favour of Saheed Adesegun Bankole, who was defeated in the election. "I want you all very much for the love and passion you have for me and APC. Today is what we call victory walk. We started from VGC with over 4000 APC members. Even inside the rain you stood your ground and you are here to protect your mandate. "Thank you very much for voting for me. I won the election throughout our wards and the INEC officials, DSS and police personnel were there and even the agents of our opponent were there as well. "Let me put it on record that his agents and the police signed that the election was free and fair and they took all the results to the local government collation centre. "When they got there, they presented all the results to the DSS, INEC officials and also to the returning officer and he collected everything and announced that Adams was the winner of the election. "We believe in this party. The only crime I have committed was during the impeachment of the Speaker; that I did not follow them and did not stand against the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly," he alleged. He said being a politician, he understood "loyalty and how to always be loyal. That is the only crime I committed and today, I’m calling on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to caution the Oba. "The Oba is the reason why we lost the presidential election in 2023 in the constituency and he is the reason why we lost the House of Representatives seat. He lost in his own kingdom and the results are there at the INEC for all to see. "I’m calling on the Inspector General of Police that if anything happens to me, he should hold the Oba responsible. And in 2027, if we lose the presidential election in the local government, the President should hold him responsible. We have assured the President that we are going to vote for him and he will win." He urged his loyalists and supporters to remain calm as he trusts the party enough to resolve the issue. President of the Lekki Residents and Stakeholders Association, Sulyman Bello, also thanked the supporters for having faith in Adams. "On behalf of all of all the estates from 1004 and across the entire Lekki peninsula, we thank all the APC members for standing by our friend, brother, father Hon. Noheem Adams. "If all the estates in Eti -Osa Osa, call on him at the same time, he will respond. We also thank God that he got over 7,000 votes and his opponent a little above 1,000 votes. The winning margin is above 90%. "We thank all those of you that voted and also thank President Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership. We extend our gratitude to the APC leaders in Lagos state. If it is not Noheem, it is not Noheem," he said.

In a decisive move aimed at alleviating the economic burdens of retired public servants, Zamfara State Governor, Dr Dauda Lawal, has officially approved increased monthly pension payments for all former workers from both state and local government offices. The approval follows an extensive financial review of retirees' living conditions, with particular attention to those in lower-income brackets who have been disproportionately affected by the prevailing cost-of-living crisis. The decision was precipitated by the findings and recommendations of a special committee empaneled to evaluate the welfare situation of pensioners across the state. The committee's report highlighted acute financial distress among aging retirees and called for immediate remedial action. In response, the state government has authorized a substantive upward adjustment in monthly pension stipends. This increment aligns seamlessly with the Federal Government's Minimum Wage Act of 2024, which explicitly recommended an additional monthly sum of at least N32,000 for pensioners. Governor Lawal has opted for full implementation of this advisory for all retired state and local government employees a policy intervention expected to benefit thousands of households across Zamfara. The state government has subsequently issued binding directives to all relevant agencies to ensure the expeditious and seamless disbursement of the enhanced payments without procedural delays. Speaking on the development, the Honorable Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mahmud Muhammad Dantawasa, characterized the policy as a tangible demonstration of Governor Lawal's unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life for both active and former government workers. According to the Commissioner, the administration operates on the principle that dignified retirement includes access to basic necessities and financial comfort. Beneficiaries across all local government areas have been assured of prompt payment once implementation commences.

By Abdulakeem Abubakar As the 2027 governorship race in the All Progressives Congress heats up in Kwara State, some aspirants have turned politics into a game of propaganda and self glorification. Instead of waiting for delegates and party leaders to decide, certain contenders are already parading themselves as “anointed” or “consensus” candidates before the primary election. Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi’s recent comments after screening in Abuja further fueled speculations, while supporters of Amb. Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki Gambari continue flooding the media with claims of inevitability. But political noise is not victory. Sponsored headlines, media hype and staged endorsements cannot replace genuine grassroots acceptance. There is only one APC ticket not multiple self declared endorsements. Kwara people are watching closely as some aspirants desperately try to package themselves as unavoidable choices. Unfortunately, history has shown that propaganda does not win primaries. By next week, reality will separate genuine political strength from empty noise.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has dismantled a syndicate involved in the vandalism, theft and recycling of critical national infrastructure, including railway tracks, NNPC pipelines and water board installations, with no fewer than 12 suspects arrested. The National Public Relations Officer of the corps, ACC Babawale Afolabi, disclosed this during a briefing on Wednesday in Kaduna. Afolabi, represented by the Deputy Public Relations Officer, SC Terzungwe Orndiir, said the operation followed a viral video showing massive vandalisation of newly laid Kaduna-Kano rail tracks and existing railway infrastructure in the northern part of the country. He said the Commandant General of the corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, directed the CG’s Special Intelligence Squad (SIS) and the Kaduna State Command to identify and apprehend those behind the act. According to Afolabi, the breakthrough was achieved through intelligence-led operations supervised by the Commander of the CG’s SIS, Commandant Apollos Dandaura, in collaboration with the Kaduna State Command. He said operatives on May 12 dismantled what he described as an international and local syndicate operating under a sophisticated criminal cover. The suspects allegedly used the premises of Inner Galaxy Steel Company at Birnin Yero in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State as a front for their activities. According to the NSCDC spokesperson, the company allegedly compressed vandalised railway materials into scrap at its Kaduna facility before transporting them to Aba, Abia State, where they were melted and recycled into nails and iron rods. Afolabi said this criminal cycle had caused the Federal Government monumental economic losses, adding that the suspects allegedly conspired with vandals to purchase stolen railway tracks, slippers, NNPC pipes and water board infrastructure. The NSCDC spokesman said seven suspects had been arrested in connection with the case, identifying them as Usman Hassan, company manager; Bilyaminu Usman, weighbridge operator; Choji Pam, weighbridge officer; Jamilu Jaafar, scrap collector; Chukwuemeka Udonwoke, supervisor; Chikwodilli Ezema, company manager; and Isaac Etim, scrap leader. According to him, the suspects are being processed for criminal conspiracy, unlawful possession of vandalised property and receiving stolen property. He listed items recovered from the scene to include large quantities of vandalised railway tracks and slippers, suspected NNPC and water board pipes, as well as specialised machinery allegedly used for compressing and concealing stolen infrastructure. Afolabi further disclosed that the CG’s SIS and Kaduna State Command also arrested five suspects over alleged vandalism of rail tracks along the Kaduna-Abuja corridor at Gwagwada community in Chikun Local Government Area. He said exhibits recovered from them included railway tracks, slippers and gas cylinders allegedly used in destroying the infrastructure. The NSCDC spokesman quoted the Commandant General as commending the CG’s SIS and Kaduna State Command for their gallantry and professionalism. He said the corps was concerned that registered companies were allegedly acting as saboteurs, adding, "Under this leadership, the NSCDC will not treat economic sabotage with kid gloves. We are going after the sponsors. This operation marks the beginning of a new phase in our crackdown on syndicates supporting vandalism under any disguise." Afolabi thanked members of the public for providing intelligence through social media and urged continued collaboration with security agencies. Also speaking, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Dr Kayode Opeifa, commended the NSCDC for recovering large quantities of railway materials allegedly vandalised and concealed in Kaduna State. Opeifa, represented by the Chief Technical Officer (Track), Zaria, Mr Paul Doche, said the NRC team was invited by the NSCDC to identify railway materials recovered during the intelligence-led operation. He said the recovered items included heaps of railway sleepers and rail tracks allegedly hidden beneath scrap metal debris, adding, "We have gone round and identified some of our materials there. These are national assets." Doche praised the NSCDC for what he described as a successful intelligence-driven operation. He noted, however, that it would be difficult to immediately quantify the recovered materials because many of the railway components were buried under heaps of metal scraps. "Before we can quantify, we have to remove all the debris and count the materials one after the other," he said. Doche reiterated that the Nigerian Railway Corporation had zero tolerance for vandalism and destruction of railway infrastructure. According to him, the matter would be handed back to the NSCDC for further investigation and prosecution of those involved in accordance with the law.

Governor Dauda Lawal has commended the troops of the Joint Task Force (North West) Operation Fansan Yamma for achieving significant operational successes against bandits in Zamfara State. The troops of the Joint Task Force launched an elaborate and coordinated onslaught in the early hours of Thursday, May 7, 2026, in the Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas of Zamfara State. Following the encounter, troops effectively neutralised three gang leaders and recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition, which included an AK-47 rifle, a machine gun, a locally fabricated handgun, seven rifle magazines and a total of 571 rounds of ammunition. Governor Lawal described the renewed military offensive as timely, particularly due to the successful operation recorded on May 10, 2026, which disrupted a significant gathering of notorious terrorist leaders and neutralised several commanders. The troops acted on an intelligence report that confirmed that the terrorists had converged at a concealed location in Tumfa Village, Shinkafi Local Government Area, with the intention to coordinate attacks and criminal activities targeting innocent communities in the state. The Air Component launched a precision airstrike on the identified terrorist hideout that successfully destroyed the structure, which served as the terrorists' meeting point. By Daniel Obaje/Safia Abdulrahman Princess Nikky Onyeri, National Convener of Forum of 2027 APC Female Aspirants Network (FAFAN), has appealed to Nigerian women to remain patience with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying the president is working tirelessly to address challenges facing the country. Onyeri made the appeal on Friday in Abuja at an event organised to endorse Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections. She said the endorsement is also aimed at showcasing the growing participation and capacity of women in politics, including women living with disabilities. “The President, I can assure you, is working and you will feel more of his impact. The women should exercise just have a little patience and continue to give him their unwavering support. “He is not sleeping, rather, he is working round the clock to make sure that all the nooks and corners of this country feel his impact. “But don’t forget that our President has funded governors significantly, so governors should also be held accountable because they are closer to the people in their communities.” Onyeri said the endorsement for Tinubu’s re-election is in recognition of what she described as the hugely effective of the Renewed Hope Agenda, especially on women across the country. She also noted that the event also marked a new phase for women in politics, with more than 500 women showing interest in elective positions under the All Progressives Congress (APC). ``We gathered and contributed our money to orgarnise this event to strengthen the ongoing reforms and encourage more Nigerian women to join us, especially at grass roots level. “This is the first time you would have more than 500 women stepping out with courage, compassion and resilience to say they want to contest for political positions. “We are saying that women who have collected forms and have the capacity should be given tickets, while affirmative action should also be considered in elective positions, appointive positions and party structures.” She urged women in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to support one another in unity and to mobilise grassroots support for the president ahead of the 2027 elections. Onyeri added that the group is also promoting inclusiveness by encouraging the participation of youths and persons living with disabilities in politics. “The leader of people living with disability is running for Senate in Kaduna State. That tells you this is the pursuit of inclusivity. “That is what our party is about. That is why we are talking about women, youths and people living with disabilities, we are all moving together,” she said. She, thereafter, called for increased empowerment programmes, improved welfare and greater representation of women in election and government appointments. Also speaking, Mrs Edna Azura, President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), urged female aspirants to intensify grassroots mobilisation and support one another to improve women’s participation in politics. Azura said women had begun changing the narrative by organising trainings, workshops and strategic engagements aimed at strengthening political inclusion and unity among women. “As you heard from the various speakers, female aspirants were advised to go to the grassroots and campaign house-to-house and also seek support from fellow women because they cannot do it alone. “In the past, women were said not to be active at the grassroots and women themselves did not support one another, but this time we have changed the narrative.” Azura said that women are now adopting more strategic approaches to politics, including fundraising and coordinated campaigns to support female aspirants. “We have had series of trainings and workshops to educate women on inclusivity, speaking with one voice and sourcing funds before venturing into politics. “We are behaving like the men now, we meet, strategise and source support for female aspirants so that they can make headway.” She commended Tinubu for appointing women into key positions and supporting initiatives aimed at improving women’s economic wellbeing. “He has appointed many women as ministers, board members, special advisers and in several other positions. “He has also supported women financially in many areas that can boost their income. “But we are still pleading with him to support the passage of the special seats bill at the National Assembly because that will help women move closer to the 35 per cent affirmative action,” she said. Mrs Nkiruka Onyejeocha, Minister of state for Labor and Employment, urged women to come out en mass to support their fellow women, while laying emphasis on the importance of early campaign. ``I have come to you today to tell you that I am in full support of this administration, `Our father Mr President has given us the chance, but we have to do the needful. ``We have to go to the grassroots and campaign, not with fake promises but with promises of meeting the needs of our people.’’ Sen. Ahmed Wada represented by his Senior Legislative aide Mr Ismaila Nuhu, said that they are in full support for women having high positions in policy decision-making. ``We are advocating for gender equality by encouraging more women to support our dear president. ``We also plead for policies that will give critical positions for our women at various levels particularly at national, state and local government levels. The APC national women leader Mary Alile represented by a Commissioner from Cross River State, Mrs Mary Julius noted that APC women stand firmly behind the Tinubu administration. ``We believe in continuity, stability, and purposeful leadership. ``Our gathering today is for greater support for female aspirants within our party and across the nation. ``Women are not just voters; women are builders of homes, communities, businesses, and the nation itself. We have the competence, the capacity, the intelligence, and the compassion needed in leadership.

The founding leaders of the Allied People’s Movement, APM are leaving no stone unturned to reclaim rightful ownership of the party which was said to have been established by the pioneer BOT Chairman and current National Chairman of the party, Muhammad Musa Bagana. This medium gathers that attempt is being made to institute another legal battle to stop the factional chairman of the party, Alhaji Yusuf Mamman Dantale from parading self as National Chairman of the party aside the pending case in the apex court. Alhaji Yusuf Mamman Dantale, the factional chairman and Chairman of Inter Party Advisory Council, IPAC is being challenged at the Supreme Court after the appallate court set aside the Federal High Court Judgement which recognizes Bagana’s faction as the legal executive council. The case is said to be pending at the Supreme Court for almost a year now. It was authoritatively gathers that series of meetings are being held in Abuja to stop what they described as “illegal immigrants ‘ into the APM. “the case with Dantale is purely a political fraud. And an attempt by the some governors to further polarized the APM will be resisted with all legal means possible. Muhammad Bello, the spokesperson of the Bagana led chairmanship told our Correspondent in a telephone conversation, stressing that his party will resist any attempt to commercialize democracy. Two current Governors, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State have declared their membership for the APM. This move is described as waste of resources as the party factional leaders denounces their membership, stressing that Dantale has no legal right to parade itself as the National Chairman of the party. If information at the disposal of our medium is anything to go by, the Bagana led faction will at any moment from now address a World Press Conference to herald the renewed battle for ownership of APM. This new litigation may signpost a process that could ruin the political calculation of the likes of Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed who on Thursday picked nomination Form to contest for Senate and other aggrieved governors and politicians who are said to be lured into the party by the Dantale led faction. As it stands, Bala Mohammed’s political journey to APM may however be stamped by FCT Minister Nyeson Wike’s expensive joke of ” I will put fire in Bauchi”. Or maybe, Bala Mohammed’s response to Wike. “You’re a small boy in politics” will save the Kauran Bauchi’s new political alignment. This heavily pregnant political realignment will deliver a shocking baby with time. The country is indeed pregnant with political conundrum.

Those who attended the event included the Central Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Eti-Osa headed by Engr. Others are the chairmen of the three local government areas of Eti-Osa constituency 1, APC ward chairmen, traditional rulers and the Lekki Residents Association who had all earlier adopted Adams, a majority leader of the Lagos Assembly, as the party's consensus in the area. Speaking at the event, the Central Working Committee declared 'no vacancy' at the presidency and the House of Assembly while maintaining its support for Hamzat as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's successor. They declared that unlike in 2023, Tinubu will win Lagos in 2027 as the people have become more resolute in their support for the president. Commending the crowd at the rally, Adetoro said the Central Working Committee of APC in Eti-Osa axis and all the LG chairmen in the constituency had written to the party endorsing Noheem Adams "Thus, on the day of the primaries, we will all be behind him. What we are doing today is a rehearsal of what is going to happen on the day of the primary election," he said. "We are publicly declaring our support for President Tinubu whose achievements speak volumes. We have also started working to ensure the victory of Engr. Obafemi Hamzat who will take over from our active governor. "Some days ago, we all wrote to the APC leadership in Lagos endorsing our son, Noheem Adams, as consensus. "We are again confirming our decision that he remains our Recognised candidate. We have seen what he has done at the House of Assembly and we can attest to the fact that he has done wonders, beyond our expectations," he said. Another leader and former lawmaker, Yahaya Dosunmu, expressed hope that the next Speaker would emerge from the constituency. "If we have number one and two outside, we are supposed to have three. "I have been attending campaigns since I was 30, but this level of support is exceptional and confirmation that you truly love Noheem and are ready to continue to support him at the primary and general elections," he said. On his part, Alhaji Sulyman Bello, President of the Lekki Estates Residents and Stakeholders Association (LERSA), said the lawmaker enjoys the support of the entire residents of the constituency. According to him, Adams has become a rallying point for residents in Eti-Osa. "What many do not understand is that Noheem Adams is not just for Eti-Osa but the entire Lagos State. There was an estate that was to be demolished. He stood for us and ensured that the estate was not demolished. "With his position at the House, it is dangerous to send a fresh member.
