With N100,000.00 Can I Start Up A Poultry Business? by KalioPeter: 9:58am On Nov 11, 2022
I really have interest in Poultry Farming but my capital is only N100,000.00 so I'm thinking, will I be able to start it up?

I've also got plans for food selling, but I don't know which would be better/more profitable.

Please help me, whoever has insights on how things should go in the business

Do you have space/land or a structure on ground for the birds?

Or that’s inclusive in your 100k budget?

broiler farm ? yes but you need to start small and build.

500x25==25,000
feeds, drugs, heat and feeder plus drinkers =80000

sell after 4weeks to off takers, repeat with an increase in birds. always sell after 4weeks unless festive periods.

Where do you live? do you also have pen?

If you do I can partner with you for 6 weeks turkey breeding. 100k is not enough to start

100k is little to start poultry farming…

Especially putting into consideration you do not have a structure/pen to keep the birds.
You also do not have equipment- feeders, drinkers etc.

I will advise you to be patient. Do not rush. Grow your capital for now. So you can invest in future in poultry if you truly have the passion.

Have you also considered crop farming…? With the piece of land and capital at your disposal you can start vegetable, okra, pepper etc farming. I believe you can start little with your capital.
Do more research on this. Grow your capital and later invest in poultry/livestock farming.

I wish you the best.

For 100k, crop farming is the best.
just try planting 3 months crops.
like tomatoes, pepper, cucumber, watermelon, vegetables.
for instance, For watermelon farming, get land, an acre around 10k, even if you could get half acre, like 5k,
buy seeds, 500g of kaolack is around 10k which has like 6 thousand seeds. pre planting herbicide should be around 3 litre that's like 7k. Get dried poultry dropping for as cheap as 5k even it could be free. That's an organic manure. Get post emergence herbicide, 1 litre of fusilade forte is 10k. you can use that for almost 4 times but you only use once for first planting, you will still have it for another planting season. This is because 1 litre is for one hectare according to company. You buy pesticides and fungicide depending on the disease you experience. That should be around 15k. Al together, everything is 42k . let's say 50k.
Don't be surprised, that half of acre will give you like 3k balls of watermelon, 1m spacing, 3 seeds hole. 30m by 30 m is 900, so, that's 900 holes, 900 by 3, if you have 3 seeds per hole, if all the seeds grow, you can have like 2700 balls of melon in the space of 90 days maxi. Get buyers in your environment and sell. with your 50k, you could become millionaire.
2700 balls is almost 1.3 million if you sell at 500 naira each.

Yes , you can raise 50 birds using grand humivet supplement to cut down feed expenses. A friend of mine used 90k to raise 50 birds. He gave 2 to his landlord, 3 for himself. Only 1 chicken died , he sold the remaining #175,000. Next, he wants to raise 100 birds

Easy to say
Cost of raising 50chicks is not less 130k minimum, in fact during festival times like this you'll be talking about 145k

Beware of scam
