Car Talk / Re: How Good Is CR-V 2003-2004 by vet707(m): 1:02am On Jan 23, 2013
osuntokun:

the a/c compressor is btw 70 and 90k. if you change compressor you will need to change thecondenser n drier which is like 20/25k The original shocks is about 60k. Original break pad from honda place is 21k but it will last for like 1year

Many thanks bro. Are the prices you quoted from honda place & if not, are the parts readily accessible from the likes of Ladipo & others and @ what cost? Cheers!

osuntokun: I have used my crv 05 for close to 3 years now. no major issue, i travel frequently with it, i have only changed my tyres and normal oil change every 3 month. I also changed my a/c compressor after a year. It is very repliable and trouble free. But the parts are not cheap, fuel consumption is like that of a small car. IT has a small fuel tank less than 60 litres, you need to be smart to notice any change in drive or noise before it gets out of hand, frequently check you oils (gear oil, brake oil, etc.) and you need a good mechanic workshop (NO ROAD SIDE PLS)to keep it running like a new car.

I so much like the CRV 2005 and I would like to go for one someday. Please can U̶̲̥̅̊ mention some parts U̶̲̥̅̊ that U̶̲̥̅̊ think are not cheap with their prices. Thanks.

Health / Your Animal Health Is Equally Important !!!!! by vet707(m): 9:06am On Dec 29, 2012
Animals suffer from many of the same chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, helminthosis and arthritis as humans.Likewise, most of these diseases encountered in animals are equally preventable.
It is also a known fact that 70% of emerging diseases are zoonotic, for example, tuberculosis, brucellosis, salmonellosis, lassa fever etc (diseases that can be transferred from animals to humans and vice versa)in nature! Similarly, †ђξ economic loses in animal diseases are usually enormous compared to when †ђξ problems are not there.
Nairalanders can ask questions about
their animal's health, medications, therapies, surgery, behavior, or safety.

Car Talk / Re: What Does Your Coolant Gauge Read? by vet707(m): 6:38pm On Nov 28, 2012
Your choices can be split into two groups:

01) Functional, very tough but not very nice-looking.
02) Attractive and modern, but a bit fragile on bad roads.

For the first group, I'd list these for your budget and running costs:

a) 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser.
b) 1998 Toyota Forerunner.
c) 1988 Landrover Defender.

For the second group, I'd list these:

a) 2001 Honda CR-V.
b) 2001 Toyota RAV-4.
c) 2002 Suzuki Vitara.

Thanks a lot for d info.pls how fuel efficient is Nissan xterra cos sum1 here is offering me dis ride @ a relatively fair price. Pls am awaitin ur response.

Lord_Reed:

So what do you suppose is the appropriate response to those who'diss' your religion and prophet?

Condenm such actions in the stongest terms but not BY KILLING THEM 'cos after they had known the truth they would surely be better converts and blessing to the ummah! I believe u should find out about one of the caliph called Umar. Assuming the earlier converts of Islam plotted against Umar and killed him, what do u think would have happened when the aggressors came calling? Salam.
Islam for Muslims / Re: I Am Having Troubles With My Faith In Islam. Please Help. by vet707(m): 1:13am On Oct 05, 2012
This thread has been so intriguing. I think I've learnt a few things. I'm of d opinion that constructive debates should be encouraged & more so if it is religiously or intellectually inclined. I further wish to pitch my tent with d hadith that says "actions shall be judged according to the intentions". Therefore, Allah (SWT) knows best. Looking around, it is obvious that KSA that is supposed to be the linchpin of d custodians of the islamic tenets wears a lukewarm cloak in the matter of the heated issue of the blasphemous movie. Personally, I dont subscribe to passing death sentences on the such disillusioned folk who made the inane movie.
