I prefer cooking at home, though there are times circumstances warrants one to eat out. In my area there's a lady that sells swallow for 700 for a plate and it's a good deal for me.
For instance, I have been craving for quality moimoi for months now but if I decide to prepare, I will spend close to 6k. I can't buy and eat cos the last time I did I almost purged my intestines. |

Slytiger: I agree with this too. I understand that you need to have some money else they wouldn't even be able to apply for nomination within their own family (agbole) let alone with the afobajes. nomination forms? I thought they simply draft eligible men from the various families and consult their gods in order to pick. Or perhaps it isn't a paid nomination |

Slytiger: He is neither wealthy nor poor. He is not as rich as Gbadegesin that is very wealthy. The current alaafin was a project coordinator with Manitoba hydro. They don't even make 100k dollars a year. To a lot of Nigerian billionaire, that's not much money. And in Canada, that's an average income as well. I make much more than that and I don't see myself as wealthy. You have a point. But then, to some extent he is a million by Nigerian standard. |

Slytiger: I am not saying he is not rich, but he wasn't a billionaire before becoming an Ooni. He was basically working for his elder brother, the one that is the billionaire and extremely rich. Still he has money, he was a millionaire if at all e never reach billion status. The gods does not pick someone without doings |

Politics › Re: ₦47Bn Yearly Power Bill Unsustainable, FG Explains Aso Rock Solar Installation by Viccur(m): 2:52pm On Apr 26, 2025 |
descarado: You want to see the electricity bill of national hospital abuja or any of the teaching hospitals in Nigeria?
They run in millions
All the hq of ministries and parastatals in Abuja spend millions in electricity every year. The pro lem with Nigeria is that we are so poor we think that steady electricity comes cheap.
Maybe, we need to hear this, Nigeria is a very poor country. Somethings we want to have, we can't because we are too poor to afford them. Water supply is not cheap. That's why govt don't look that way and nature blessed us to dig our own water supply. Fuel isn't cheap.
Education isn't cheap. Govt subsidies is what we have been enjoying and we conclude they are cheap.
Blame your politicians but not those things. The power consumption in Aso rock can never gup #47billion yearly, otherwise they should analyse and publish how the money is being spent. Factories where heavy duty engines are being used do not pay that much, let alone a place filled with residential buildings. Corruption is the only thing playing here. Padded budgets to be specific. |

DeLaRue: Only God knows how much someone like Ooni spends on a monthly basis.
When I think of the monthly expenses of my modest self, Ooni's monthly expenses will be mouth watering. How does he cope Each wife probably needs N5m or more per month in maintenance.
I don't think the amount he gets from the State/local government monthly can cover 20% of what he spends.
Rolls Royces, Private jets, Helicopters, best hotels, entourage, high-maintenance wives, best schools for children etc
To be Ooni no be small thing o. The Oonis are usually wealthy, reason the gods do not pick a man still struggling with his finances |
