@the farm on Tuesday .3rd leaves emerging From the cucumbers 8 days after planting .Tranplanted some seedlings from the ground to sack to make up for the ones that failed to germinate, Watered the cucumber plants manually,Applied NPK fertilizer ,sprayed them with a portion of pesticide when I noticed 2-3 with bitten off leaves. Then to the main event[Cutting bamboo sticks for the trellis ]. I never knew dragging bamboo out from the dense vegetation was this hard. They were intertwined like Bob Marley's hair cheesy but I conquered sha .Splitting the sticks was less tasking though.Got some ropes today for setting the trellis.

Your liquid fertilizer, how effective is it...that's if you've used it before.

Can you please take a closer picture of it? Thanks

Actually I'm farming for the first time so haven't really had any experience with forliar fertilizer. I just got info on forliar feeding of cucumber plants while doing more research and decided to try it out. According to the research plants tend to absorb nutrients readily from their leave more than from roots. However forliar feeding can not substitute root fertilizer application totally. As for the picture will do that tomorrow.

Liquid fertilizer to be sprayed on the plants when they have more foliage.
Hand sprayer to substitute for knapsack sprayer till I save up to buy one.
Attacke pesticide to fight off the insects and NPK fertilizer to be fed to the plants on biweekly bases.

Went to the farm yesterday and most of the cucumber seeds sprouted, will go back on Monday to check if all of them are out of the soil then replant any one which failed to germinate.

thank you sir, I will spend the 3500 but I dont want it to be a usual occurence. i was able to chat with one of the mentors here, he told me to use salt of 25kg and ashes of 20kg and a particular antiboitics after draining the water. Am yet to get ashes of such quantity. The dead fishes are having swollen chest. Thank you sir

Hope you are not chasing a non existent problem while neglecting the important ones. Bloated stomach in catfish can be noticed just after feeding and dead fishes normally have bloated stomach when left in the water for a period of time. That said, since there are little to no symptoms to suggest its a viral or fungi infection ( fin rot, popping eyes, cracked skull or loss of appetite) I think the most likely cause would be poor aeration of the water.
1.Reduce the feed ration so there are no left overs(feed to saturation then stop)
2.Get an aerator
3.Take a sample of your pond water and soil for ph test as an acidic soil in earthen pond is likely going to alter the ph of fresh water coming into the pond.
4.Last and not least interconnection of ponds is never a good idea. Each pond should have its own inlet and outlet for you to be in control of the situation in each individual pond.

Kudos to your efforts. From my experience with super marketer, it doesn't like morning dew or water on its leaves. It dries them out.

Noted!

I was able to fill the remaining 70 bags yesterday so I have 170 bags for starts. Will add more if I can get the murano seeds. So for now the farm has 680 plants excluding the ones I planted on the ground.Luckily for me it rained yesterday after planting though I watered lightly after sowing. I'll go check on them by Saturday and replant were necessary .Lots of pictures coming up if network allows.

Was thinking of creating a thread for my cucumber sack farming experience but after much thought I decided to share it on here on the motivator's thread. Hope I'm welcome Oga vanpeele ?

Most of the requirements for the farm are in place but due to the murano scarcity I've decided to go for a heirloom cucumber variety... Though I know the murano may catch up to the super marketer variety I'm planting when they arrive.

Going to finish the bagging tomorrow and sow the seeds. Then cutting bamboo for the trellis on Tuesday.

I love the concept of sack farming because of its numerous benefits as listed by the OP but I think the greatest of all the benefits is growing so much on so little space. I'll ake a rough measurement of the area I'm planting 1000 crops so as to let you guys understand this more.

Buy a flagship phone if you don't want to buy all this flashy factory production errors... I use the Mi4 which has a durable battery.runs Android 4.4 which is upgradable to 6.3 marshmallows. has the best camera I have seen on a phone 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks.... and comes with a 3gig ram with an inbuilt memory of 16gig though only 12gig is accessible as it comes with some apps....

I think bily makes sense, considering most of our foreign counterparts use trash fish in production of a more desirable fish species.. its just like exploiting the ecological niche and food chain ... Most of the so called trash fish are the most prolific (multiply their numbers rapidly) and so can never be overfished or extinct. Have we ever thought of what fish species are used for making fish meal...? for all I care it could be our very own tilapia which they labeled as an invasive specie that needs to be curled from their water bodies . and we spend so much on what we have in abundance due to ignorance. Please we would be doing ourselves much good if we can try to research. Someone posted on this thread that he got great results from using frozen fish which is cheaper in comparison to fishmeal . We could carry out our own experiment... set 10 to 20 fingerlings aside ,feed 10 with frozen fish formula , the other 10 on trash fish formulated feed and the rest of your stock as control group can be fed on fish meal if you are a fan . then check the growth rate throughout the production cycle of 5 to 6 months. I'm sure we will benefit a lot from such. Thanks

If you can afford it you can as well fill 9inch block but putting tiles in pond that will be filled with fish slime is like trying to dig one's grave may God forbid. If the floor is well concrete and plastered with all the edges cemented there will be no leakages
