The government had on Tuesday changed position on its proposal for minimum wage consequential adjustment from 11 per cent to 17 per cent for workers on grade levels 7 to 14, and from 6.5 per cent to 12 per cent for those on grade levels 15 to 17. But Labour, who had insisted on 29 per cent wage increase for workers on grade levels 7 to14 and 24 per cent for those on grade levels 15 to 17, did not accept the offer. Senator Godswill Akpabio’s bid to return to the senate has been jeopardized as National and State House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital, September 11, upheld the victory of Senator Christopher Ekpenyong.
