I'm facing a very knotty issue here that I would really appreciate your opinions. I just had my contract suspended because the clients' means of payment is unverified. Thing is, I noticed she wasn't verified before starting the contract and pointed it out to her but since the Milestone was already funded, She expressed some confusion at the system (it's her first time) but promised to keep an eye on it. Since it was a pretty easy task that I'd successfully negotiated upwards, I was really keen to see it done so I proceeded only to be told by upwork to stop work as the contract had been suspended 4 days after!

I've reached her (we communicate primarily through email) and she's even more bemused and has sent me the details of her payment even though She admitted not being able to verify her method because the deductions didn't reflect in her CC. According to her, She has called her cc company but they can't help either. A red flag went up when She asked for samples of what I'd done in the midst of the brouhaha, but I weaved my way out of it and she apologised for asking.

Thing is, I've done a background search on this girl and everything checks out. Her naivety seems to be quite honest. I've verified She's a university student that she claimed and by the way, she's an American hottie I swear, like someone out of a Hollywood movie, you know the type that....

Anyway, I'm not considering circumvention, the risk is too great. I'm just wondering if I can encourage her to opt out of the contract and hire outside - she's almost crying to me at this point. Would my encouraging her to opt out be breaking the rules? Secondly, who knows the associated fees to be paid for opting out? Any long-term consequences for me, since I intend to inform upwork if it comes to that. Any knowledgeable advise would be welcome.

guys, the last time I withdrew money from upwork I imputed the exchangers email. now I want withdraw again, but the exchanger says that he doesn't offer such services again.
if I change my email again (twice in a month) I hope my account won't be flagged, banned OR blocked?

Your profile and test score matter alot in UPWORK areana but I have a mind blowing cover letter that will bring clients knocking at your door to work for them..

Tips No. 1 if u are new to UPWORK search for new client then do FREE work for them to seek their interest then do follow up.. Client are human not robot... Old client already has their customers so if u keep sending your connect to them u will not get any interview in the next 100 Years to come lolz....

In the United States at least, it's just as legally binding as any other document with signatures. To be exact, even email correspondence is acceptable legal proof. New York just passed a Freelancer bill last week, and other states have something similar, so you can pretty much find a way to Bleep them up.

That's only if they're actually in the US tho. If it's a Kenyan scammer or something else, your contact will probably scare him off. I'd also advice to do background checks on your clients, but you obviously have that covered.

Urgh, I hate some clients. She said we should discuss on Skype, but she was really shady. After getting her to agree to work with a contract, as soon as I sent the contract, she blocked me, lmao. Good riddance. Scammers are everywhere now.

Have to start from the beginning anyway I know what to do I will toast them to give me my account back... Their support teams are cool...

Lolz funny enuff I did though of that but sincerely I dont feel it that much bcuz I already have direct Contact with my client so no dulling fck UPWORK their father lap... Reputation ni.... Who E epp?? I have multiple account that I cant remember their pw...

Lesson : Thou shall not use UPWORK chat box bcuz its not private..... Better carry them enter skype or whatsApp chat...

I am in a mess rite now.. My client suggested we should go off UPWORK I did agree to him including paying me off UPWORK omo as I dey talk to u UPWORK block our account.... I didnt remember that messeges on UPWORK is not private... Their security team dont sleep at work 247... But I know what to do... Brb.

I don't get people's obsession with working on Upwork. You can just draft a contract. If they don't pay, there are freelancing laws on your side.
