Hello fam, been a while I made a post on this thread but I'd like to know your thoughts on something strange happening with my Upwork withdrawal. I initiated a Direct Debit withdrawal from my Upwork account a couple of days ago and sure enough, I received a Naira debit alert in my bank account within 15 minutes and went about my normal business. A few hours later, I received a notification from Upwork that the transaction had failed and the funds (Dollars) had been returned to my Upwork account less the $1 transaction fee. I logged into my transaction page and my account had truly been refunded. Funny thing was that the initial credit to my Bank account stayed untouched so in essence, I'd been credited locally and same funds have been returned to my account.
I contacted Upwork CC explaining what had happened and got a perfunctory response about it being a system error and that I should re-initiate another withdrawal for it to go through. I followed up with a more detailed explanation of what had happened and hours later I got a hands-in-the-air response about them being helpless in a situation the system tells them there's been an error. Apparently in situations like that, all they're obligated to do is to return the funds ($) to the original source which they've done. So here I am stuck with money that I shouldn't have and I'm not sure how to go about it. Anyone faced anything similar? Victor101, stagger, Kaycodes, anyone faced anything similar? Any advice?

OP , @Victor(101) or anyone else here reading this, I have just stumbled upon this thread, been hearing freelancing for long now, it has always been confusing to me, I need a head start. As I left school last year and mobilized for service this july but name didn't appear, I cant continue staying idle and sad, I am interested in this freelancing so I can help myself and others around me, its frustrating and uundignifying when you cant help out with small cash to solve your personal problem and that of others. I only have an android phone no laptop, please I really want to learn and change my status quo.

Hi Victor. Thank you for your contributions to this thread over the years. I just got my first (hourly) contract on Upwork. I am pretty excited and don't want to botch the job.
I don't really get how the hourly contract works. The client specified a 5 hours per week limit. Do I start tracking every time I carry out research on the article? What if I am a slow writer, wouldn't that lead to more hours being billed to the client? Or is there supposed to be a specific number of hours to be dedicated to writing an article? What are the cons and pros of working on an hourly contract?
Please, I welcome other insightful comments from anyone that could also be of help.
