Nairaland / General / Woman Who Waited For 13 Years In Marriage For A Child, dies During Child Birth by victorkelechi57(m): 10:57pm On Jul 25, 2023
This life sha........😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Today a dearest friend of mine was laid to rest and it gave credence to the saying, all is vanity.

Oh Mrs Cynthia Abutu Egenuka , it is painful you couldn't see the dedication party I have promised you long time ago I will attend when God finally answers our prayers for these past Eleven years.

Cynthia Eneano Abutu, was my classmate from 2005 and until her untimely death on 22nd June, we never stopped being those close friends. We ate, attend classes together, sat together in lecture /Exams hall, slept in same room for years and we became family. Cynthia Visited Delta State for the first time in her life because of me when my Brother got married, I visited Benue state for the first time because of Cynthia. In 2011, when we were in NYSC, Cynthia got married, we all were happy for her, because our friendship cycle, she was the first to get married. The enemies never wanted my dearest friend to see happiness, for these years, we prayed, Cynthia fasted ,cried, faced mockery , visited prayer houses, hospitals because of childlessness . Then God answered last year, God blessed Cynthia and Hubby with special gifts, only for Cynthia to lost her life after delivery a set of beautiful twins. Oh God, why did this have to happen? Cynthia couldn't stay alive to care for the happiness she has been seeking for good 12 years. So those that didn't want her happiness succeeded ?

Dearest Cyn Baby, wherever you are , May your Soul find rest but may your spirit torment whoever didn't wish you well. I missed you, who will now call me Endiokwe, Eddy Dollar dollar?😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

My entire stay in Enugu was blissful because I had people like you around me.

Rest on Darling, it is hard to believe, but truly our Cynthia is no more. May God watch over the beautiful twin you left behind and Give your husband the fortitude to bear the loss and provide for him to care for the kids.

Farewell Beloved one😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Politics / 2023 Presidency: Tinubu, Candidate To Beat -sen Nwaogu by victorkelechi57(m): 4:44am On Nov 28, 2022
Senator Nkechi Nwaogu has expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu would win the 2023 presidential election.
Senator Nwaogu said her optimism was hinged on what Tinubu did when he was the governor of Lagos State, and the facts presently on ground.
The former senator and House of Representatives member who spoke in Aba, Abia State during the inauguration of Abia chapter of the Tinubu/Shettima Women Presidential Campaign Council (TSWPC), said there was no doubt Tinubu was the incoming president of Nigeria.
Nwaogu, the coordinator of TSWPC in Abia said, “Tinubu is going to be the next president of this country, women have said it and I know as promise keepers, we believe they are going to deliver.
“Tinubu is not tribalistic, when he was governor of Lagos State, he appointed many Igbo son and daughters into office and it’s my believe he will do more for Ndigbo if he becomes president of the country.
“Ndigbo should cast their votes where it will count and yield dividend; it is better we stay with the party at the centre, we will follow Tinubu/Shettima to the Promised Land”.

Nairaland / General / Abia Government Agents Sympathetic To PDP Destroy Labour Party's Billboards by victorkelechi57(m): 5:50pm On Sep 10, 2022
In their desperation to win the 2023 general election by any means possible and continue with their misrule, agents of the Abia State government sympathetic to the PDP, have taken the dirty pattern of Abia State politics to another level by destroying billboards of candidates of other parties who they believe constitute threats to them.

This ugly scenario played out once more on Saturday, September 9, 2022, when these anti-democratic elements destroyed the billboard carrying the faces of Mr Peter Obi, Dr Alex Otti and Engr Chinedu Onyeizu. Incontrovertible facts on ground show that the target of the dastardly act is Engr Chinedu Onyeizu, the Labour Party's senatorial candidate for Abia South. While other states of the federation are encouraging and promoting their youths to take up political positions, Abia State government is using the powers and resources of the state to intimidate its own youths, and that is despicable. All well-meaning Abians should rise up in condemnation of this.

It is important to point out that the destruction of the billboard situated at railway, Factory Road, Aba, came barely 24 hours after PDP and their Abia South senatorial candidate failed woefully in their desperation to mislead the people with the infantile tale that Engr Chinedu Onyeizu is being sponsored by the Governor. Having failed in this move, they resorted to the destruction of billboards. This act is cowardly and senseless, and, no doubt, confirms that Chinedu Onyeizu's overwhelming acceptability across the six local government areas that make up the senatorial district has unsettled them.

The people of Abia South know who and what they want. They obviously do not want someone whose reason for aspiring to go to the Senate is to match the records of his predecessors who have made the National Assembly their retirement home, or someone who wants to spend his old age in the Senate even without anything to show for it after sixteen years.

By now it should have been obvious to them that no amount of rumour or destruction of Engr Chinedu Onyeizu's billboards will change the fact that the people will overwhelmingly vote for him. Come 25th February, 2023, Chinedu Onyeizu go pepper dem!

Politics / *2023: Why Abia South Deserves Chinedu Onyeizu* by victorkelechi57(m): 4:28pm On Aug 26, 2022
If there is one senatorial district in Nigeria where it is obvious that the political irokos will fall in 2023, it is the Abia South Senatorial District. If there is a senatorial zone where there will be a repeat of the fall of the biblical wall of Jericho, it is obviously the Abia South. If there is one area that needs, and would surely have a breath of fresh air, it is surely Abia South. Facts abound to justify the fact that the zone deserves a paradigm shift.

Several contenders have presented themselves for election to either represent, or to continue to represent the district in the red chamber of Nigeria's National Assembly. Among them is a sitting Governor who intends to join the list of former Governors who see the Senate as their retirement home . His only driving force is to be in the Senate the way his predecessors have done. He has no other spelled-out reason for going to Abuja. Even as governor, the zone he wants to represent has very little to show for it. If he couldn't do much for the zone with the powers and enormous amount of resources at his disposal as governor, one wonders what impact he would make on the zone as senator. With his kind as senator, Abia South will be worse.

Another top contender, who has no other business except being in government, has spent almost 20 whopping years in government, 15 of which he has already wasted in the Senate. After four terms in the Senate, he came back and asked to be anointed a governor. But when that dream met a brick wall because of his already known poor record in the Senate, he made a vote farce, swallowed his pride and picked the senatorial ticket of a political party he called unprintable names a few years ago. How soon he can forget! For the almost 16 years of his stay in the Senate, there is nothing he can proudly point to as his achievement for the people. He attracted no projects. He empowered no youth and women. He could not even build the roads that lead to his village. He abandoned his kinsmen. He forgot even his maternal home. He only remembers them when the election draws nearer, as he is doing now. In his almost 16-year stay in the Senate, he sees the distribution of a few transformers as an unprecedented achievement. He uses the welfare of his people to achieve selfish political points in Abuja.

Until recently, he only saw misgovernance in Abuja and turned a blind eye to the decay in his home state. He has just realized that Abia is being misgoverned because his dream of being governor died on arrival, killed by the same people with whom he had held the people down. He now wants the same people he neglected to mourn with him, and give him a return ticket to Abuja as a compensation for failure. He still believes that the people will remain gullible. How wrong he is.

Someone who has failed as governor, can never be a superlative senator because one cannot give what one doesn't have. On the other hand, someone who has achieved nothing for the people after almost 16 years, cannot perform miracles in another four years because the leopard does not change its spots.

In 2023, the people of Obingwa, Aba North, Aba South, Ugwunagbor, and Ukwa East and West will speak in unanimity. They will elect the senator who truly understands and appreciates their problems. They will elect a senator that feels the pulse of the people. They will elect a vibrant and young person who has demonstrated capacity and courage. They will elect a senator who will place their welfare first. They will elect a senator who has a track record of performance in his endeavours. They will elect a senator they can have access to at all times. In all these, the name - Chinedu Onyeizu - rings bells.

Engineer Chinedu Onyeizu is youthful and vibrant, and has a track record of academic and professional excellence. He is humble and humane, and has shown courage and capacity. Abia South deserves better. Abia South deserves Chinedu Onyeizu. And above all, he is trustworthy and can be held accountable. Never will the people of Abia South be taken for a ride. Chinedu Onyeizu represent the new order.

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Senator Nkechi Nwaogu has debunked any the report of move to dump the party.

Nwaogu, who represented Abia Central in the Senate, in a statement by her SA, media, Victor Kelechi said the report was in its entirety false.

“While we don’t want to dignify the man behind the fake news, we need to clarify the issues on ground and set the records straight for the avoidance of doubt.

“Senator Nkechi Nwaogu has never left the APC, and she cannot leave it. She is a bonafide member of the Party and is not nursing any defection agenda and anyone that is nursing such an idea, it will remain a figment of of his own imagination.

Although, the factional Abia APC under Ikechi Emenike has decided to sideline Umunneator Ngwa by giving both the Senatorial and Gubernatorial tickets to Umuahia, Sen. Nkechi Nwaogu has not thought about defecting to any party but has condemned in totality the marginalization of Umunneator Ngwa under factional Gubernatorial Candidate Ikechi Emenike.

“No body can push Sen Nkechi Nwaogu out of APC. Anyone thinking that she will quit from our party is hallucinating”.

The statement said on the issue of 2023 Gubernatorial Election, Sen. Nwaogu will only advise Abians to vote credible and transparent candidates who will reposition Abia to become a state of the people’s desire.

Politics / Engr. Chinedu Onyeizu Defects To Labour, Cites Confusion In Abia APC by victorkelechi57(m): 10:06am On Jun 30, 2022
Good Morning Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen

It gives me a great pleasure to stand before you today to address you on a subject that I consider important to every young man and woman of Nigerian origin.

About four years ago I stood before you in this great city of Aba to solicit your support in my aspiration to become a nominee of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Abia-South Senatorial Zone for the 2019 senatorial elections.

You came out in your large numbers to back me and you worked tirelessly to convince men and women, young and old in all nooks and crannies of Abia South senatorial zone that APC holds the key to the change that is urgently needed to impact their lives positively, and unlock the potentials of young men and women that this nation has produced.

In February 2018 when we joined APC, the party was largely struggling to find its feet in Abia South. Within a short period our team of enthusiastic and dedicated followers built amazing relationships and structures at every ward in our zone and consequently APC grew phenomenally. Today, the party is leveraging on our efforts to expand her foot print in our zone.

We were propelled by a common goal to change our narrative as citizens of this great nation for good. More than two decades had past in unbroken democratic governance and yet we are left with the fate of having nothing to look backwards with pride and nothing to look forward to with hope.

Let me use this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to you all for your belief, commitment and faith in this struggle for a new re-birth for Nigeria.

I am particularly grateful to the elderly woman, who fries bean cake (Akara) on Obohia road. She was amazing in her support. During our 2018 door to door campaign she donated N3, 800 as her contribution to my campaign. Such gesture gets me fired up!

I must give credit to the young men and women – both party and non-party members who swore with their lives to defend my votes at Park road, Aba during the 2018 APC primaries election. I salute you all.

My friends and fellow comrades in the struggle, you will all agree with me that the outcome of the recently concluded national convention of APC leaves little or no hope for the masses of Nigerians going forward. Our worst fears have been underlined by the outcome of that event. Nigerian youths have once again being schemed out in determining their future. I no longer see APC as a vehicle to leverage in bringing about the change we seek for the good of Nigeria.

As I returned back from APC national convention, there has been significant pressure by our supporters and followers for us to join hands with His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi and Dr. Alex Otti the Presidential and Abia State Governorship Standard bearers in the incoming 2023 elections of Labour party respectively to actualize our dream of effecting an enduring and rewarding change in our country.

As a Sloan Fellow of the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USAmy drivers and objectives for joining politics have not changed from serving our people at different capacities, constructively challenging the status quo and ensuring that the people’s desire for a better life is actualized. We must see ourselves as change agents and leaders at all levels. We must collectively feel the same burden of betrayal and neglect by those we have elected to positions of authority and move in groups to take back our state and country before its too late.

I have given a serious thought to the call to join Labour Party in the capacity of Abia South Senatorial Nominee and I consider it a great honour and privilege to announce to you today that I have decided to honour the invitation of going over to LP to continue with the struggle. I will lead from the front always. That is my pledge. I am convinced that both Mr Peter Obi and Dr Alex Otti are on the same page with us in this struggle.

Let me inform you that I had the singular honor of hosting the next Governor of Abia State Dr. Alex Otti at my residence in Lagos and we held fruitful talks on how to move Abia and Nigeria forward.

Consequently, I have directed my team to re-open our campaign office at No 44 Pound road, Aba as Nwa Aba! to kick-start registration of volunteers for our door to door awareness programs and campaign.

If you’re a youth, a mother, a civil servant, and a student in Abia South Senatorial district then you’re a critical stakeholder and I appeal to you to join me, join Alex Otti Mr Peter Obi to re-write our story on the sands of time. If we put our minds and commitments to it, we can help make Nigeria work for Nigerians.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let me close this address by inviting you to join me and great achievers that our country has produced to build Nigeria of our dreams through the LP vehicle.

Thank You and God Bless You

Long Live Abia South Senatorial Zone!
Long Live Abia State!!

Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!

Engr. Chinedu Onyeizu

June 30th, 2022.

Nairaland / General / Engr. Chinedu Onyeizu: An Abia Born Crusader With Compass by victorkelechi57(m): 5:50am On May 15, 2022
By the time he joined Abia South senatorial race in the run up to the 2019 elections on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress from relative anonymity, Engr. Chinedu Onyeizu, became an instant factor to reckon with.
Most of the ‘experienced’ aspirants for the plum seat at the Red Chamber then, including the big and the mighty in the politics of Abia South, became jittery over Onyeizu’s immediate acceptability and growing popularity amongst the youths and increasing percentage of the old.
Many had wondered why a young and vibrant engineer of international repute with a flourishing career in the oil and gas industry at management level could stick out his neck in the murky waters of Nigerian political space at the prime age of 37 years.
What political watchers didn’t know was that Onyeizu had developed undying passion for remolding the mindset of Nigerian youth for leadership impact. He believes that Nigeria’s future greatness lie squarely in the hands of the youth because of the dynamics of the time. The current spectator leaning of the youth towards political participation despite signing into law the not-too-young –to rule bill is not helpful in bridging the existing gap of youth involvement in leadership of the country through the ballot. He also believes that the youth of this country have a lot to offer in the socio-economic development of Nigeria in diverse ways.
For him age should not be a barrier for the youth who are eloquently qualified to contest any elective position in the country after all many developed countries of the world are currently turning to the youth for the 21st century leadership. He argues that the global economic meltdown has created a new imperative in the world that is best suited for the youth. That imperative is the necessity of smart governance. It means the application of the most modern and best practices, processes, technology and methods in the business of governance.
There is additional requirement which he believes the 21st century leadership stipulates. Such a leadership he observed at a recent forum places emphasis on persons whose intellectual preparations are not in doubt. The signs of imminent shut down of formal economy is everywhere in evidence. A disappearing stock market; diminishing external reserves; an escalating exchange rate; tottering financial institutions; unstable oil prices; rising inflation; burgeoning unemployment rate and fast spreading destitution. The unfolding scenario in the economy of the country cannot be resolved by dependence on monthly oil cheques from Abuja by states. Smart governance is the way out and the youth better positioned to dare these challenges.
His choice of joining politics from the Red Chamber of the national assembly was borne out of the conviction that the best way to effect imperative changes that have direct impact in the living conditions of the greatest majority is to part of the process that will ultimately make the changes happen. He believes that the apex legislative chamber should populate young generations of Nigerians in other to facilitate vibrancy and energy in the proceedings of the Senate for public good.
In Abia his home state Onyeizu’s has put together incredible and very imaginative ideas that are invaluable to transforming Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the state to an entrepreneurial hub that will ultimately lead to exportation of Aba made products to the international community. The ideas are backed by rigorous research and practical experience of the lifestyle of people living in the area since he was born and raised in that commercial city.
Concern has been expressed in certain quarters that except there is a paradigm shift in leadership of Abia State in 2023 the citizenry of God’s own State may continue to romance with bankruptcy and total meltdown.
Proponents of this view insist that Abia State needs young individuals with technocratic credentials and passion for revolutionary and very imaginative solutions tailored to fit the challenges of the 21st century in other to change the developmental narrative of the state from May 29th, 2023.
The challenge however, is that political scheming and intrigues have sidelined young technocrats with track record of achievements and exposure needed to bring Abia state back on track. As matters stand today most registered parties are more concerned on winning the designated positions with little attention on preparing for the offices they intend to occupy. But there is wisdom in conscious efforts been made to tap the ideological content that makes illustrious Engr Chinedu Onyeizu outstanding at home and across the world. His crusade that aims at motivating young Nigerians into getting meaningfully engaged could rob off positively on aspirants with eye on qualitative governance.

Chinedu Onyeizu is a petroleum engineer with extensive record of achievements. After his national service in Bayelsa, he joined the PTDF Gas research group in 2004, were he spent 3 years studying and researching methods to harness Nigeria’s deepwater stranded gas resources using non-stoichiometric technologies.
In 2006, Chinedu won the Best Young Engineer in West Africa Award for developing a geospatial model for oil spill vulnerability monitoring in the Niger-Delta (Awarded by Offshore West Africa – a UK based PennWell petroleum group).
Onyeizu has led many multi-functional teams across the globe and has managed several multi-million dollar projects for Chevron Nigeria Limited. In 2012, he worked as an expatriate in Louisana’s Gulf of Mexico where he led a team of experts that developed automated upstream workflows (WRO Solutions) for Chevron’s global oil and gas field operations.
He is an active member of the International Society of Petroleum Engineers and represents Chevron on the Global Production and Operations Award committee of the organization. Since 2014, he has acquired advanced education at Harvard University; Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) – Emerging Leadership Program, Heriot-Watt Univeristy – Msc in Strategy Planning, and the prestigious Massachussets Institute of Technology (MIT) – MBA with focus in Energy.

At MIT, Chinedu was selected as a Sloan Fellow of MIT’s Sloan School of Management (class of 2017) where out of patriotism he carried out a disruptive research work on finding a permanent solution to fuel scarcity and supply challenges in the Nigerian petroleum downstream sector :

In 2017, Chinedu co-founded an Africa focused think thank and strategy consulting group, Afri-PERA (www.afripera.com), that works with national and regional governments in Africa to solve policy and development challenges in the continent. He also serves on the board of Rhino Group of Companies and The Chinedu Onyeizu Foundation (COF).
