Sports / EPL Match Week 7: Matches, Previews And Times by viewingcentres: 3:42pm On Sep 29, 2017
Another segment of EPL matches, previews and times is here again. Another mega weekend set to be on he way. Still, Crystal Palace remain the only team so far this season not to have scored a goal. I’m sure they will have this in mind as they take on Manchester United this weekend after falling heavily in the hands of Manchester City last time out. The match of the week this weekend will be coming up on Saturday and that will be when Chelsea host Manchester city at the bridge. Let’s take some previews of this weekend matches.

MANCHESTER UNITED VS CRYSTAL PALACE (3:00P.M)

As Crystal Place sit comfortably in the relegation zone, hope seems to look smaller as they are to make the journey to second placed Manchester United at Trafford. As said earlier, Crystal Place is yet to secure a point and a goal so far this season, breaking the record... read more here http://www.viewingcentres.com.ng/epl-match-week-7-matches-previews-times/
Sports / Fresh Problem For Guardiola Ahead Chelsea Clash by viewingcentres: 3:34pm On Sep 29, 2017
A big blow for Manchester City ahead of their trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday as they will be missing the services of their in-form striker Aguero.

Aguero got involved in an auto crash in Amsterdam after attending a concert where his close friend performed. He was reported to be going back to the airport to fly to London in preparation for their EPL clash against Chelsea on Saturday

Reports from Manchester City has it that Aguero might be sidelined for a possible two months, starting from the Saturday game against title rivals Chelsea.

Guardiola earlier this week lost Benjamin Mendy to a 5 month injury, now problem seems to rise as Aguero has joined the line of injured players in the squad.

With this news, Gabriel Jesus is sure to start on Saturday against Chelsea as Guardiola will wish to continue his free scoring mode despite the injury setback. Get more updates and pictures from www.viewingcentres.com.ng

Sports / Paul Pogba’s Injury Might Affect Manchester United by viewingcentres: 7:21pm On Sep 21, 2017
As the game of soccer gives fans and lovers its pros, it simultaneously bring along its cons. This was so for Manchester United when their energetic and always creative midfielder Paul Pogba limped off the pitch due to hamstring suffered in the UEFA champions league match against Basel in their opening champions league match on Tuesday.

Though Mourinho has made it clear that there is no reason to cry over Pogba’s injury as there are other capable midfielders in the squad. Truly United still have players like Herrera, Fellaini, Matic and Carrick that can replace the midfielder during the period of his absence.

But from my point of view and personal analysis, Pogba has a quality as a midfielder that his potential replacements seem not to possess. That is his creativity, when Pogba is on pitch, be rest assured that... read more here http://www.viewingcentres.com.ng/paul-pogbas-injury-might-affect-manchester-united/

Sports / Tottenham Wembley Record: A Problem In Sight For Spurs by viewingcentres: 2:24pm On Aug 24, 2017
Last season’s league runners-up started their first home game this season with a defeat to the last season league champions Chelsea. Due to the renovations going on at White Hart Lane, Tottenham had to make Wembley their compulsory home ground throughout this season. Unfortunately for Spurs, this ground has not been favourable for them. History seems to repeat itself anytime they play on the pitch.

Tottenham’s disarray at Wembley started last season when they had to use the ground for their Champions league home matches. They lost to Leverkusen and Monaco and drew Gent. The only win they had on the ground last season was against CSKA Moscow. With their latest defeat coming from Chelsea, this means Tottenham had played 11 matches in the new Wembley stadium and they have only struggled to win 2 of those matches. Their loss to Chelsea in their first home match of the season breaks their one year plus home unbeaten record which was kept at White Hart Lane.

Presently, the Spurs have nowhere to hide, they have to face this challenge and resolve the Wembley disagreements as Wembley will host their home matches throughout the season. If they should allow this poor Wembley form to continue this season it is going to be highly disastrous for them. And this is a season that technically should be theirs if we were to judge from their consistencies. It is also a season that they are expected to have a good outing in the UEFA champions league. As they have worked hard to systematically and successfully preserved their stars from impending predators, the Wembley jinx should not be allowed to serve as a stumbling block for their success.

The next Spurs game at Wembley will be against Burnley. This could also amount to a test for them as Burnley defeated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the opening games of this season EPL. more artcles on www.viewingcentres.com.ng
Sports / Are Medicals Really Necessary During Football Transfers? by viewingcentres: 1:04pm On Aug 24, 2017
When a club picks interest in a player, when the deal is almost done the next thing you hear is the player undergoing medicals in the club. But come to think of it, have there been players whose transfers were rejected because of failed medicals? How does the medicals look like?

As Romelu Lukaku’s transfer to Manchester United drew to a close and the papers announced that a deal has been agreed, subject to a medical, it suddenly dawned on me that if Lukaku fails his medical, he may not become a Manchester United player. But then, what were the chances of him failing his medical? It’s not that he had just started playing football. In fact, it is very rare to hear that a player has failed one. So then, is it time for clubs to do away with the medical?

First things first- The Basics

Once a deal has been agreed with the selling club and personal terms agreed with the player, he then arrives for his medical. Every player is different and hence no two players have the same... read more on http://www.viewingcentres.com.ng/are-medicals-really-necessary-during-football-transfers/

Sports / 4 Reasons Why Diego Costa Should Be Pardoned By Conte by viewingcentres: 9:00pm On Aug 09, 2017
In the wake of a disappointing Community Shield defeat to Arsenal, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte now has to look inward and settle rifts with some of his players. One of those players is the charismatic striker Diego Costa popularly known as "the governor". Diego Costa was told by the Chelsea boss Antonio Conte that he is no longer in his plans for this season, and as a result excluded the Spaniard from the team's preseason tour. Later Costa was also seen partying in Athletico Madrid's jersey and he sent a message to Fabregas to give Conte a hug. At a point, Costa and his agent called a truce which fell on the deaf hears of Antonio Conte. But with the situation of things at the bridge, there could be outstanding reasons why Costa should be recalled. Here are 4 of the reasons why a recall for Costa could be a saving grace for both parties. Read more at http://viewingcentres..com.ng/2017/08/4-reasons-why-diego-costa-should-be.html
Sports / Arsenal Vs Chelsea Community Shield Preview Part 2: A Warning For Conte by viewingcentres: 8:10pm On Aug 05, 2017
As part 1 of this article has brought some stats to mind ahead of this mind-boggling game, it has also shown how this match could be a test for the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as pointed here. The shield is to be decided at an arena where Conte lost to this same Arsenal team in last season F.A cup final. Therefore this anticipated match could end up sending a huge warning to Antonio Conte if the result goes unfavourable for him. What warning could this match send?

Antonio Conte rocked his 3-4-3 formation almost throughout last season which inadvertently won him the English Premier League trophy in his first season at Chelsea. But to a large extent, Conte have had difficulty in playing against teams that counter his formation by using the same formation. Examples of the games that were so difficult for Conte last season which he eventually lost were the ones against Tottenham and the FA cup final against Arsenal. Tottenham also played the 3-4-3 system, likewise this was the tactical approach Arsene Wenger used which yielded a good result for him in the final. Definitely, he will employ similar formation tomorrow in the community shield, in a bid to keep his 8 matches unbeaten run at Wembley. In those matches, Conte has found it so difficult to change things around due to the fact that he seems too rigid to the 3-4-3 system. So, in my opinion Conte should be ready to change formation and tactics during the course of the game if things are becoming unfavourable. As this will help him in the coming season since EPL is a league that when your error is discovered all clubs will capitalize on it till you are doomed. That's what Antonio Conte should keep in mind as a warning for the coming season.

Also another worry in the Chelsea camp ahead of the community shield tie is the injury crises rocking the club. Hazard one of the regular starters will be unavailable, the new signing Bakayoko will also be unavailable due to knee injury. Pedro still remain a doubt following fractures sustained on his face in a match against Arsenal during their preseason tour. Conte has to be 100% tactical tomorrow with this squad if he wants the game to end in his favour. Having it in mind that he is playing against a man that most times, previous records work in his favour.

A possible line-up for Chelsea will be : Defenders: Cahill, David Luiz, Azpilicueta Midfielders: Alonso, Victor Moses, Kante, Fabregas Forwards: Willian, Morata, Batshuayi. enjoy more articles at http://viewingcentres..com.ng/

A hot derby is definitely the best start to a promising season in any major league in the world. Such start to a season would be seen on Sunday when Arsenal take on their London rivals on a common ground which is the Wembley Stadium. A lot of talking points ahead of this game following injury crisis, wembley records, and recent meetings between the two rivals. Chelsea got themselves playing in the community shield as the EPL title holder while Arsenal got to this level as the FA cup winner defeating Chelsea in the finals. Let's see how this game could be a test for Wenger whereas a warning for Conte.

Sports / Edinson Cavanni: "A striker I will not accept as a gift" by viewingcentres: 10:54pm On Jul 29, 2017
When you hear the name "cavanni" what might surely come to your mind is a wasteful and solo striker whose aims at all times is to score impressive goals. Cavanni is a national team player for Uruguay, born on the 14th February 1987. He currently play his club football for Paris Saint German. He is known for his acrobatic displays in front of goal which most times end
up in missed chances, stunts that have caused PSG dearly, changing deserved victory to a pitiable draw.

Cavanni has been expected to step up his game and play more responsible football up-front since the transfer of Ibrahimovich to Man-utd. But, this has not been the case, infact a ligue I comment once called him a "financial liability" another media comment said "he is not good enough to replace Zlatan." A similar wasteful display came up against Arsenal on day 5 of the UEFA Champions league this season when he wasted a whole handful of chances including two one-on-ones that should have given the visitors a deserved victory. No wonder the lamentation made above came from a footall fan in my favourite viewing centre who gets annoyed easily with Cavanni's style of play.

My point of view though, I strongly belief that Cavanni is versatile, but he needs to stop comparing himself to superstars like Ibra. He needs to play his games naturally and score his goals in his own way, and stop missing eight clear chances to score one 'crazy' television goal. Previously I thought it was Ibra's presence in the team that makes him play to impress, and I thought it was because he wasn't given the centre forward role anytime Ibra is playing that makes it difficult for him to convert. But I was wrong, because with the exit of Zlatan, he has still been the wasteful player I knew him to be, I feel he is even worse. Sometimes I pity the great midfielders he had playing behind him the likes of , he wastes their efforts most times, Thiago Motta especially should be one of the players with the most assists in the World, but since Cavanni doesn't convert the goals how will the accurate passes amount to assists. more info on http://viewingcentres..com.ng/2016/12/edinson-cavanni-striker-i-will-not.html

Sports / The Liverpool Team I Love To Watch by viewingcentres: 6:49pm On Jul 25, 2017
Back then, between 2005-2009 when I hear Liverpool fc what comes to my mind straight away is a determined and resilient team, a team that is always inclined to win. I'm sure your mind had gone straight to the "miracle at Istabul" depicting the remarkable champions league final against AC Milan ten years ago when Liverpool came from behind to lift the Champions league trophy for the fifth time in their history granting them the opportunity to keep the trophy permanently. What made that victory a remarkable one was the six minute dramatic come-back from 3 goals to nothing to 3-3, which later ended in a penalty shoot-out that saw Shevchenko of AC Milan losing his penalty to Dudek ensuring Liverpool lift the trophy for the fifth time.

After that season, I still saw a Liverpool side that play direct football with great zeal and intensity and with quality players having tactical brilliance. Infact, up till now Liverpool hasn't seen better replacement for some of this players. It's rare to see a team in which almost all the players have very powerful shots with great accuracy. That apart, I will try to analyse what I so much like in some of this players and the list of my favourite first eleven.

When we talk of Liverpool players then, we start with a legend and skipper Steven Gerrard, he played 17 seasons for Liverpool, what I cherished most in Gerrard is his ability to win ball and his long strike accuracy with both feet. When a corner kick is played by liverpool and a re-bounce is coming from Gerrard you have to get ready for a 'screamer' as his shots were famously regarded by football commentators. Alongside Gerrard, sitting deep in the heart of defensive midfield is Alonso, a player whose transfer to Madrid commenced the woe of Liverpool. The spanish has great tackles with very keen eyes for tricky passes. To spice it up, he has the ability to play powerful long range strikes just like Gerrard. Can you recollect the threat they pose? Another player I so much like is Dirk Kuyt, all I could remember of him is his ability to stay put in the opponent box even when he is a supporting sriker, he is a very good scorer with intense ability to score in big games. What of Riise? Before I talk on Risse, Kuyt made me remember Benayoun. Benayoun is also a player you will always find in the opponent's half just like Dirk, he has very good short passes that awarded him a good number of assists, you should remember the great partnership he had with Fernando Torres, a partnership that made Chelsea sign him to complement Torres, just that injury had been Benayoun's worst nightmare. Now Riise, a player whose shot was believed to have broken Alan Smith's leg when Liverpool won Manchester united in the FA cup in 2006 at Anfield. I like him better in his left-back position and when he takes freekick, his shot power is massive. You remember Pennant the winger with great skill and super cross? He is always looking for Peter Crouch. Time will not allow me to analyse Jamie Carragher the defensive rock, Ryan Babel, Martin Skrtel, Mascherano, Aurelio and the great Jay Spearing.

My Liverpool favourite eleven then was, Dudek, Carragher, Agger, Arbeloa, Riise, Alonso, Gerrard, Pennant, Spearing, kuyt and Torres. That's the Liverpol team I love to watch. It will take time and hard work for Liverpool to build such a technical team as this. Klopp is just trying now to inculcate that known Liverpool spirit in his present squad.

Feel free to share your own Liverpool moment with us, those player you fancy then at Liverpool and why you like them. read more with squad pictures on http://viewingcentres..com.ng/2016/12/the-liverpool-team-i-love-to-watch.html
Sports / Transfer Market: A Way Spanish Clubs Weakens English Clubs In Europe by viewingcentres: 9:28pm On Jul 19, 2017
The UEFA champions league appears to be one of the major if not the most prestigious club competition among European football clubs. In the last decade English teams faired well in the competition as we see the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United most times making it to the semifinal and sometimes beyond as the 2008 final episode of the competition even featured two English teams. But this decade seem crippled for the teams in England especially the last four editions of the competitions. But on the other hand, the mighty Spanish titans Barcelona, Real madrid and Athletico madrid seem to dominate the semifinals of the competition with one or none English team showcasing.

From my point of view, a reason to the recent disappointing outings of the English teams could be how the transfer market had turned out especially between Spain and England. The Spanish warriors Real Madrid and Barcelona lure high quality players from reputable clubs in England with exorbitant transfer fees, this transaction at the long run leaves the English clubs wanting at the end of the day and settling for a replacement that is not as good as the sold out quality. Example of such high profile transfer... read more http://viewingcentres..com.ng/2017/07/transfer-market-way-spanish-clubs.html

Sports / The Loopholes Of The Video Assistant Referee(var) by viewingcentres: 10:09pm On Jun 20, 2017
As technology is taking its toll in the world of soccer, we have seen some changes and modifications all to make the game more beautiful and interesting. One of these changes is the invention of Video Assistant Referee, which have been used in a couple of high profile matches. In a recent post on this blog, the merits and beauty of this invention has been discussed, which you can read here. But no matter what, any human invention that has beautiful advantages must have its cons and disadvantages, and moreso, the assistant is also human and not perfect. Below are the loopholes and demerits this new system seems to bring and certain events that exposes this.

Minor decisions will not be covered: when the Video Assistant Referee was introduced, it was said that it will only cover major decisions that could have a match changing effects, you might want to know an example of minor ones it wont cover. A free-kick that is not correctly awarded would not be reversed by the VAR, but in the real sense of it an incorrectly awarded free-kick which seems a minor decision may turn major if such leads to a lone goal in a match or if it resulted in a dangerous away goal as it may apply in champions league matches. Another minor decision it will not over-rule is the instant of an incorrectly awarded yellow card, this can also turn big if there is another offence now worthy of another yellow card for the same player, that will lead to a red card which could be match changing. As last week saw the release of the 2017/2018 EPL fixture, many clubs all over the world including English clubs have been strengthening their team in one way or the other. The red devil will be the team to talk about today, as they seem to be heavily linked with major players and their tenancity in signing key players to the missing roles in the team. Jose Mourinho and the red devils seems to mean business in preparation for the coming season. let's see 3 reasons why we can make this conclusion.
Firstly, a hip of praise to the manager Jose Mourinho who got a double last season despite managing an average United team that played most matches among English teams. An excellent team rotation and professional tactics by the manager saw the team succeed the rest of the season without the likes of their talis man Ibrahimovich, skipper Smalling and a host of other players lost to injury. With such a coach, the sky is just the starting point for United next season especially if he has the needed reinforcement he sought for.
Further, the manager meant a lot of business as he was reported to have submitted a list of 25 players he needed at Old Trafford, this list seems massive because Mourinho sad it contained the list of first choiced players and a host of alternatives in case the first choiced deals do not pull through. A scenario is seen to that already, when United was linked to land Griezmann from Athletico Madrid, they were so keen on landing the striker but the deal proved abortive. Immediately they switched over to landing an alternative, in person of Alvaro Morata and now they are very close to buying the Real Madrid striker. This shows a true spirit of determination in securing a major and renowned striker. Ivan Perisic is also a famous attacking midfielder who's signing is almost a done deal and a host of other key players. It appears Mourinho is shocking all vital areas and making sure he has strong alternatives in cases of injuries or suspensions as seen last season. Another noteworthy sign of success is that the coach has appealed to the club to make all signings complete by early July so that adequate preparation for the coming season could start with a complete squad. This kind of gestures are signs that shows a team that is ready for success in all competitions.
Lastly, following the course of history, Mourinho's second season in a club has always been the most successful, next season will be his second in Manchester United I'm not seeing him with less success next season.
I'm not a United fan though, but I'm impressed by the level of preparation and height of seriousness the team has shown. We do have different opinions at time, you can drop your proposed best English team for next season here with reasons.
