Well, as an English teacher, I learnt from years of solid experience that a good teacher does magic for students no matter how 'dull' or 'lazy' they may be. I do not apportion all blames to students. A charismatic teacher can turn a dull student into at least a 'C5' or 'C6' student. We all need inspiration, but when it's lacking, we might flunk. It is the responsibility of a good school to set high standards for students, and ensure that students meticulously follow it. It is very mature students that have goals when the school or teacher has none, and not every student is that mature. And it's not their fault. I rest my case. Good luck. |
Ilelobola: Just what the title says, I have just read this book again and will be reading the rest in the trilogy. I've enjoyed the insight into what must the Ibo culture before colonialisation.Try Amos Tutuola's Palm Wine Drinkard or Soyinka's Death and King's Horseman |

JAMB completes first admissions round on august 29, 2013 at 12:09 am in news By LAIDE AKINBOADE ABUJA—The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, announced, yesterday, that it had concluded the first round of admissions into degree-awarding institutions. A statement by JAMB, signed by its Head Public Relations, Mr. Fabian Benjamin, in Abuja, said all candidates that made degree- awarding institutions their first choices or most-preferred are enjoined to check the Board’s website and print their admission letters. It said: “This exercise was decided at a combined Technical Committee Meeting on admissions into degree-awarding institutions for 2013/2014 academic session held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. “The meeting had 109 degree- awarding institutions in attendance and 76 out of these institutions made submissions (list of admitted candidates) to the Board. “The second round of admissions will be conducted between September 23 and 27, at Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo State. “It would be solely for admissions into polytechnics, monotechnics, colleges of education and Innovative Enterprises Institutions. All admissions into the nation’s tertiary institutions are expected to close by October.” Culled from Vanguard newspaper |
The predictions were mostly correct. Art post-ume results were woeful, that's why their cutoff are quite low. |

What's the cut-off for law. |
Are we now certain that performance in the post-ume was poor for art and social sci students? Is there anybody who is going for law who scored 290+? Who has a broad overview of the situation, please? Though its a fragment of scores I have seen, I predict a lower cutoff: law- 245, english - 230, account. - 235, economics- 237, etc |
Teaser4: nope and yes ....Why the double-speak? |
Must ASUU call of the strike before departmental cut-offs are out? |
Samtolly4JESUS: you have a point there boss!... Buh judging from the low performance in Jamb... And seeing how the science dominated the scene in pume... I hopefully think the cut off won't be more than 250.... Your view sire?I think so too. From observation art students scored low. Is because of difficulty of the questions or the way it was marked? |
Samtolly4JESUS: you too stingy!.... Me nko?Samtolly, what do you think the cut-off mark for law will be? Is it not possible we have many ppl with very high marks outside nairaland. |
Miracy: u r 99.9% in.....am also a law aspirant with 251aggregate,i pray the cutoff favours us ooooWhy was last year's cut-off 275? |
Llb with an aggregate of 267. What's my chance. |
