Use DHL to send ur passport to Abuja or Lagos depending where u did ur biometrics from the country u re currently in.
Make sure u pay for the passport return so that after stamping, they will still return it back to where u re through courier.
Congratulations
What I said here was how I did that of my brother and it worked but if someone is saying is not the right thing then no probs. Sending ur passport through courier especially DHL is 100% safe and fast. But if u want to send to ur nearest vac, then good but u hv to pay cos it was not ur original place of biometrics. Good luck

Goodday House,

Thanks to everyone who continually share these experiences on this platform. Here to also share my timeline:
Application submitted: 17 Aug 2023
Biometric done: 31st Aug 2023
Biometric updated: 3rd Oct 2023
PPR: 28th Nov 2023
However, I have not been able to submit my passport because I’m currently not in Nigeria. A friend suggested I send my passport down to nigeria to be submitted on my behalf but I do not feel it’s safe.
My question is this, can I submit my passport at the VAC office in the country where I’m currently? Do I need to first inform them in Nigeria before doing so? Please I really need answers as I’m running out of time given the 30days to submit passport. Thanks!

Pls guys I hope this April next year he plans to enter will not be an issue at the POE for him?
Or is he meant to be in Canada before the end of 90 days from the time his visa was approved?

The dollar price that airlines show for their tickets fare, is it convertible according to bank rate of black market rate? For example, if I see $1,780.50 for a particular date in Royal Air Moroc, shd I make the payment according to bank rate or black market rate?

Again, is Royal Air Moroc a good airline to travel to Montreal?

I would not know where your application is being processed but most applications from Nigeria for temporary residents are handled in Nairobi Kenya.

I mentioned Abuja because they are proactive most times and also domiciled in your country of origin.

This Abuja link for webform u sent for me doesn't open if I click on it
Please send for me the one that will open once I click on it here.
Thank u

Kurukuru:
Contacting MPs now may not yield something meaningful. New parliamentary rules now limit the MPs' interference to the IRCC work. That is why many Canadians are calling for the setting up of an Ombusman for the IRCC by the parliament. The Minister of Public Safety in Canada has already drafted a bill to establish for a body to be overseeing the work of the CBSA officers. We are waiting for the Immigration Minister to do the same.
@kurukuru, are u saying that the MP can not even contact them concerning the application even if he can not influence faster processing? and re u saying also that they will not take up the application even after being contacted by the MP? If the MP's intervention is totally useless as u claim, do u think the MP will demand for more information about the application from the applicant as he demanded in that response that he sent to me?
Please educate me more
Thank u

While getting a response from the office of the MP is very encouraging, however, they will not compel the IRCC to expedite a faster processing of any application as far as I know. Having said that, they usually have their contacts in the IRCC visa department who can follow up on your TRV application. The IRCC on their part would see that the office of the MP has an interest in your file which could make them do something about your case. Hope this helps. All the best.
Thank u so much@Blessed451

It is a good step if the member of parliament is willing to enquire about your application on your behalf.

Another step you can make is to send webforms to IRCC to appeal for the speedy processing of your application. Also, send periodical mail to Abuja IRCC, those guys can be very useful sometimes.

I am sure there would be some work on your application, don't worry if your eligibility has not started. Sometimes eligibility remark does not change till approval comes.

All the best!
Thank u so much@olasubomy
I hv sent webform to IRCC Nairobi
But pls what is the link to send to that of Abuja?
Again, is my application being processed in Abuja or Nairobi?

Your GCMS notes are for you to see the updated status on your file, and it does not guarantee to influence the speedy process of your application.

Although, the department responsible for receiving Access to Information requests (GCMS Notes) is different from the department that reviews visa applications. However, in the event of collation of an applicant's GCMS records, there might be some missing items or clarification that would require clarity from the department that does actual reviews of visa applications.

These can be a rare occasion that would cause visa officers to have a closer look at the file before the GCMS is signed off and mailed out by the ATIP department.
These rare occasions may cause the case processing analyst to review the file further to the next step.

You can type GCMS notes on google and choose one out of the many options. You will be asked to sign a form with blue biro before they execute.

I hope this answers your query.
Yeah thanks alot

Don’t worry that you did not get the actual response you expected. IRCC always read their mails.

One good way to know they track your mails is when you order your GCMS notes, it will be part of the incoming correspondence pages.
You can notify IRCC by the other channel. What I mean is If you have told them by webform, try doing so now by email, and if you did by email, do so also by webform, so you rest assured you have informed IRCC and you have your evidence.

When you do it by email, do a screenshot of the corrected area/page in question, paste it on the body of the email, and attach the document as an attachment.
Ok thanks alot
But pls how can I order for this GCMS and of what role will it play in my delayed application?

Update!!!

I sent my passport to Lagos VFS Apr 7 2022
Received my stamped passport Apr 27 2022

It took approximately 15 working days. I opted for Lagos VFS because my travel date is in few months.

Note: All passports sent to Lagos VFS are being transferred and stamped in Abuja. Hence the reason why passport sent directly to Abuja VFS are stamped and received between 1-5 working days.
Congrats @ami213

Please, find below the link to the site where you have the current members of parliament.

https://www.ourcommons.ca/Members/en/search

Your contact MP should be the one in the region where you are going for the convention since thats the destination of visit.

However, i would agree with ami213 - i think you should exercise a little patience for reasons (1) the application has not passed standard processing times (2) Though, it is time bound but there is still ample time between now and July (3) It is also to avod raising some doubts in the minds of the visa or processing officer as to the intents of visits especially when reminders are coming too early.

I would advise you give it till at least first week of June then you can do a follow up with the MP and even order for your GCMS notes if decision has not yet come by then.

Hopefully, you have a decision soon, just keep hope alive.
Ohk thanks so much @olasubomy

You can also try sending an e-mail to the member of parliament (MP) of the region to assist you in following up. Although, MP do not have influence in fastracking the applications but most times the immigration authorities tend to give them status update of the stage of the application as at date of enquiry.

Make sure you state all details concisely so the MP can understand it is timebound such that they can read your mail within few minutes and get your message.

You can await more suggestions from the gurus
Please how can I do that @olasubomy
