SegunWamiri: What if his spouse doesn't have her occupation in the same nominated occupation as his? I think the requirement is that your spouse must nominate an occupation on the same skill occupation list as the principal applicant. What I believe that means is that if your occupation is on SOL, then your spouse's occupation must be on SOL also. See the requirement below as copied from their site. Partner skills --------------- You can receive five points if, when you are invited to apply for this visa, your partner provides evidence that they: were under 50 years of age had at least competent English had nominated an occupation on the same skilled occupation list as your nominated occupation had been assessed by the relevant assessing authority as having suitable skills for the nominated occupation. Unless I am missing something. |

234ng44uk: Thanks, that was helpful. What they are trying to tell you is that if you have 65 then you will need to join the queue which is currently at 1/11/2016. You would then need to wait a while before it gets to your turn since your date of effect would be in 2017. So to fast-track things for you, try to increase your points to 70 or more through English tests, spouse points, or state nomination. That way you are sure to jump the queue and get invited asap. Best of luck. |

PTE 1st attempt ...... 40 hours later
L 77: R 82: S 78: W 75
I will work harder in next attempt and am definitely changing center (had 2 reboots, 1 system freeze, 1 PC change). *losss of momentum*
I wish myself better luck next time
who 10 points Epp.
Thinking about TOEFL My guy you are close. I'll also advise you to forget TOEFL. Just stick to PTE since you have already mastered the technique. I also did mine at UKEAS Ikeja but didnt have any system issues. It was people 'issues' as the Ukeas staff were distracting me with their office gist . Its really better than IELTS and may go for it again next week after I have assessed my options. |

dunsinogundele: Dear friends,
I have finally made payment for my flight to Adel aide but I have question, IOM mentioned in their mail that what they gave me is an "estimated quite", so does it mean they would refund me if final amount is less than what I paid? Congrats again bro. I am just getting to know now that IOM offers discounted travel services for new immigrants to Australia. Please how does one go about it? Even though we are still waiting for ITA, its not a bad idea to have some upfront knowledge. |

funkyjo: Happy New Month Everyone.... May this month bring us and ours all our heart desires. God will cause us to win and laugh all through the month.
@vinsmuft...really sorry about your result. IMO and from research i did then when I was seriously considering a remark, I'll say you should just let it be. I was able to find only one person from a forum (I don't remember now) who actually had a rescore for just one point too. He said in a few hours, he got the exact same results. I'll advise you do more research into the speaking section and retake the test instead. A few tips I used to improve my score was that I didn't correct myself even when I said something wrong, ensure you give a conclusion at the end of every diagram. Those were the few things I did differently the second time..I wish you the best Thanks. Will consider rewriting when the analysis of the last draw comes out. I have 65 points already and my date of effect is very close so writing another PTE may not be necessary. |

Bnimz: The thread has 154 pages sir. that is as comprehensive an archive as anyone can wish for.. kindly go through all the posts starting from page 0. almost all possible questions have been asked and answered Going through 154 pages is not a small something o When I joined this forum, it took me almost a full day of not doing any work to read through everything. This is a clarion call to all programmers in the house. Can we use Python or a software tool to scrape information on this forum and then compress and categorize to make it easier for people to access required info faster? This is also important because some questions have been answered several times here. Hosting the compressed version can be done free using Google Blogger. I'll look into it when I have some free time. One love. |

Declan16: Please I would like to clarify some facts about the Australian PR process, as I am interested in applying for subclass 189 this year.
I have a BSc in Computer Science (2012) and an MSc in the same field (2014). I have 24 months work experience till date (14 months before MSc and 10 months as at today), all as an IT analyst. Age: 30 points. My nominated occupation will be Systems Analyst.
Please what are my chances for getting a positive assessment from ACS? In addition, do I need to take an English language exam before submitting my credentials for assessment?
I am not sure I will receive any points for work experience from ACS so I intend to get 20 points from English language skills.
Thanks. 1. You dont need an English test for ACS assessment. 2. Since you have at least 2 years post BSc experience, I believe you will get a positive assessment from ACS. 3. Getting 20 points from English test is not an option for you. Its a must. |

bolaobby: I have a little issue and i want anyone that can help with a response.
My job title read SYSTEM ANALYST on my employment letter and promotion letters but my job role is that of a network Engineer with CCIE certification.
I got my head of unit to write the employment reference letter that i used for my assessment with ACS with the job tittle NETWORK ENGINEER and the result was positive.
Am waiting for ITA but my concern is at the time of lodgement of visa application. Since my employment and promotion letters has SYSTEM ANALYST, wouldn't that be an issue.
Am also trying to get one of the senior managers in admin to write another reference letter that i can use for the visa application in case they want to verify my employment reference letter but am so sure that the job title will be the one that is on my employment letter “SYSTEM ANALYST”.
I need answer In my opinion, I dont think that should be an issue. Job naming conventions varies from company to company. Its the job description that really matters. For instance when I worked in the bank, my job title was also SYSTEM ANALYST even though my JD clearly showed that I was a programmer. One of the requirements for ACS assessment, according to the guidelines, is "Description of Duties Performed". Nowhere does it say Job Title is required. |

aceBlazer: @ Bnimz & Jamson...all other useful inputs also appreciated Pls I need to be cleared on something...At what point exactly do you need to tender maximum points of 65 or 70 as the case may be? From comments here, it seems like you don't need maximum points especially from English tests, for the first stage of the skill assessment. Pls I need urgent responses... cheers folks. Its possible that for some professions 60 points would be ok in getting you an Invitation to Apply (ITA). However for some hotly contested professions where the number of prospective applicants is large, you may need a minimum of 70 points to ensure you get an ITA. This is because there are many in the queue who have 70 points and so would be picked first before someone with 60. If you check this url http://www.border.gov.au/WorkinginAustralia/Pages/18-january-2017-round-results.aspx for information on the last draw, you will see that the Accountants who were invited for ITA had a minimum of 70 points and had been on the queue since Sept last year! So in essence, it depends on how competitive your profession is. |

nkechima: I know how it feels sis but see it as cobweb alongside your success story.. Here is my OZ story so far I started the journey sometimes in 2013 with student visa, along the line I missed my footsteps and was given a three year ban because I gave false and misleading document. When i saw the outcome of my visa application, I knew I was in a big mess, I felt bad and poured the anger on my partner cos he encouraged the false document. I was down for months because I couldn't believe myself. The truth remains that I was part of that decision whether I like it or not because I took the final step. I was broken into piece but did I give up my dreams because I made a mistake in my first attempt? The answer is no!!!!!!!!!! I don't want to dwell in my past mistake and use it as an excuse for......... I can only give up when He "God" is not part of my dreams. So, put your self together and match on, you are almost there ...... Just one more step Sis So how does your story end ma? Are u now in OZ or in the process? |

Alphadoor: Is it possible and advisable to front load medicals even before assessment result is out.
Am asking because it's likely a "bun in the oven" story might enter the equation before EOI.
I like to factor in all variables when I make my calculations.
...... thank you house Please note that your medicals have one year expiry date. I know someone who got PR and he was told that he must enter Australia before a date which was one year after his medicals. So I would advise you do assessment first as the duration for that alone could take weeks/months. |

Please I have a question. During my assessment, ACS cut down my number of years of experience. Now when submitting EOI, I was asked to provide my employment details from start date to end date. Do I use the cut down version from ACS or do I put in the actual period of my employment details. Thanks! |

Age- 33
Skill nomination- Telecommunication Engineer Experience- 8 years with a Multinational company

English test - Yet to register.
Occupation falls under CSOL and SOL.
Thanks in advance It is very important that your occupation falls under the SOL/CSOL list. And since you are less than 50, you are qualified to apply. Go and do your English test, do your assessment and submit an EOI. All the best |

ajiifixing: For all those asking for options to pay here is the only one available from Banks :
1.Get a USD Prepaid Card from the Bank and load with dollars bought from the black market (a bit expensive but still better than none). The card usually is like USD 20 while you pay an annual fee of USD18. Stanbic IBTC has that and it works .
2. Open a dorm account with your Bank and ask for a USD Debit Card -Still the same process. You will have to fund the account from the Black market.
That is the ONLY option available if you don't have anyone to help you from "the abroad". Na wa o. But why na |

I know I'm over analyzing but I like to tie all loose ends. Nigeria Universities are mega-annoying. Dis na JAMB question you dey ask o . Abeg go ahead and apply with the transcript you have. Nobody will ask you that question. |

trastar: I keep reading conflicting information here about Transcript.
Nigerian universities don't send transcripts to individuals. You have to upload scanned copy of your transcript on ACS yourself and not to be sent by the university.
I have arranged with ETx to get the transcript from Babcock, however. They said the copy I can be given is going to be stamped with "personal copy" and it's not for official purpose. They only send "official copy" to institutions or organizations...and since acs requires me to upload a scanned copy myself...I want to ask... Can I use that copy stamped with "personal copy"? Anyone had this issue?
I know I can just put an institution or organizations address to get official copy but... Pls help. Personally I do not think that this should be a problem. Nowhere on the ACS guidelines does it say you cannot send transcripts stamped as personal copy.Go ahead and use the stamped personal copy to submit your application. If they have a problem with it, your case officer will let you know. |
Travel › Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Vinsmuft(m): 1:11pm On Jan 05, 2017 |
bolaobby: 1. As regards the transcript, you have to get it from your institution, make photocopy of it and take it to High Court to get it certified. It is the certified copy that you have to scan and upload to ACS not to be sent by your institution to them.
2. On MCIPT, i sent the one i have along with my cisco certifications but the case officer asked for the transcript of the Microsoft. I have to ask him to assess other certificate when i couldn't access my Microsoft portal. If you include it as part of your credentials and they need any clarification, you will get a mail form the assessor.
3. On the employment, i think statutory will do but if you have any other document to back up your employment history, its not a bad idea. I only send employment reference letter and nothing else in my own case.
Hope this will help bolaobby, You are mostly correct in your answer. However if you are going to submit a Statutory declaration as an employment reference, ACS requires that you must attach a supporting evidence which is any of the following: ->Certified copy of Payslips – preferably first & last payslip ->Certified copy of Human Resource statement or Service Certificate ->Certified copy of Termination Letter with corresponding dates Also ACS is unable to accept letters of appointment, self-statutory declarations or contracts as employment references. This is what happened in my case as my case officer requested for supporting evidence. I had to get my payslips and upload to ACS. If you do not do so, ACS will proceed with your application but will omit that period of employment from your final report. |

@poster, Go with the gut feeling you had before all this started. The gut feeling that told you to forget this girl. She's using you to fill up her emotional bank account which the other guy isnt doing while getting something else from the other guy (e.g. money). So both of you are giving her something different. Its not worth your time. I've had an experience with such double-minded women. Infact my last one even got married and was still crying and begging for me to stay lovers with her. |
