Maduka University, Ekwegbe Nsukka, has matriculated 664 students at its second matriculation, with a firm commitment to offering value-based education in Nigeria and beyond.
In his address, the Chancellor and Founder, Dr. Samuel Maduka Onyishi, emphasized the importance of education that responds directly to the needs of society. He noted that the era of the university as a detached ivory tower is long gone. “Value-based education goes beyond the classroom,” he said. “It is about creating an environment where teaching and learning are rooted in universal values and geared toward solving real-world problems.”
Dr. Onyishi explained that Maduka University’s programs are designed with a clear understanding of the shortcomings in Nigeria’s educational system. This awareness, he said, drives the university’s efforts to offer training that combines academic rigour with entrepreneurial thinking — a core pillar of the institution’s philosophy.
“We are committed to transparency, excellence, and creating the right environment for transformative education,” he declared.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Ogbulogo, in his remarks, described the university’s approach as “learner-centred,” focusing on meeting the needs and aspirations of students. He highlighted the quality of faculty and the engaging nature of classroom instruction, which he described as “interactive and transformative.”
Prof. Ogbulogo noted that the university currently runs programs in the College of Medicine and six schools: Health Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Law, Business and Social Sciences, and Engineering and Computing. He thanked the National Universities Commission (NUC) and other regulatory bodies for their support, stating that the university has never launched a program without securing the necessary approvals.
“In just one year and five months of academic operations, we have enrolled close to 1,300 students,” he said. “This growth reflects the trust people have in our model of education. While it may be early to see it as validation, it certainly points in the right direction.”
He [expressed appreciation to parents and sponsors for entrusting the university with their wards and congratulated the matriculating students. “We are proud to have some of the most promising young minds here — students who are ready to take on leadership and responsibility,” he added.
Delivering the matriculation lecture, former President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, praised the university’s rapid growth and development, describing it as “phenomenal,” especially given the country’s challenging economic climate.
“Establishing a university under these conditions is no small feat,” he said. “The speed of development, the quality of staff, and the state-of-the-art facilities reflect the deep commitment and sacrifice of the founder, Dr. Onyishi. He is clearly driven by a passion to uplift society.”
Chief Nwodo expressed concern over the declining standards in education in the country but expressed hope in institutions like Maduka University. “It pains me so much that you, as our children, cannot get the quality of education we, your parents, got. Those of you in Maduka University are privileged. You have good buildings, power supply, water supply, and lecturers hungry and anxious to teach in an institution with facilities. Above all, you have a proprietor who has a passion to make the society he met a better place for those coming after him.”

On behalf of our client, Ms. Adaobi Jenifer Alagwu, we issue this stern warning to Mr. Tunde Ayeni and his associates regarding the ongoing defamation, deliberate misinformation, and false narratives surrounding his legally recognised marriage to our client and the paternity of their daughter, Omarosa Abimbola Ayeni.
For over a year, Ms. Alagwu has exercised great restraint in the face of continuous attacks, blatant lies, and a coordinated smear campaign against her and her child. However, given the relentless propagation of falsehoods by Mr. Ayeni and those acting on his behalf, we are now compelled to set the record straight.
UNDENIABLE FACTS: MARRIAGE & PATERNITY 1. Recognized Marriage: The claim that Mr. Ayeni was never married to Ms. Alagwu is an outright lie. Traditional marriage rites were lawfully conducted, including the payment of the bride price, and this was captured on video. Denying this now is both disingenuous and legally irrelevant. 2. Paternity of Omarosa Abimbola Ayeni:
Any claim that our client’s pregnancy occurred before the marriage is false. The child was conceived after the marriage, and her paternity is not in question. A DNA test was conducted at DNA Diagnostics Centre (DDC), United Kingdom, a globally recognized genetic testing institution.
The results, which were directly sent to all parties involved, including Mr. Ayeni, his wife, and Ms. Alagwu, confirm without a doubt that Mr. Tunde Ayeni is the biological father of Omarosa Abimbola Ayeni.
Any claims of falsification are not only defamatory but also a direct attack on the credibility of a reputable medical institution. If Mr. Ayeni or his associates insist on this baseless claim, they should take legal action against the DDC an institution that follows strict international medical standards rather than engaging in public deceit. (See attached DNA test results.)
3. Mrs. Biola Ayeni’s Full Knowledge & Involvement: It is also a blatant falsehood to claim that Mrs. Biola Ayeni is unaware of Ms. Alagwu or her child. In February 2023, Mrs. Ayeni personally traveled with Ms. Alagwu and Omarosa to London for the DNA test.
If, as alleged, there was no child, why did Mrs. Ayeni accompany them to a UK hospital for a paternity test? This contradiction exposes the deliberate lies being spread. (See attached video evidence of their trip.
4. Acknowledgment of the Child’s Birth & Subsequent Denial: Mr. Ayeni was not only present during Omarosa’s birth in the United States but was also inside the delivery room, where he cut the umbilical cord himself. His name is officially recorded on Omarosa’s American birth certificate, bearing his signature. There are photographs and multiple witnesses who can confirm this, making his current denials both fraudulent and disgraceful.
THE TRUTH CANNOT BE ERASED
Ms. Alagwu has no interest in engaging in a public dispute over wealth, status, or assets. However, what she will not tolerate is the erasure of her child’s existence, the defamation of her character, and the malicious attempt to distort indisputable facts.
Omarosa Abimbola Ayeni is an innocent child, and no amount of manipulation, deception, or media propaganda will change the biological and legal facts.

Maduka University resumes academic activities, says admission is still ongoing.
Maduka University Enugu announced that academic activities for students commenced after the brief 2-week Christmas break. Recognised and approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC), Maduka University offers diverse programs. The management announced that students of the university will start academic activities on the specified date, urging all qualified new students who completed registration to resume promptly.
While reiterating a zero-tolerance policy for cultism and other social vices, the management encouraged new students to embrace the institution's ethos encapsulated in its slogan, 'knowledge, self-reliance, and service.'
Despite the academic year already underway, Maduka University announced that admission is still open for prospective students.

Prof. Charles Ogbulogo, the Vice-Chancellor of Maduka University, Ekwegbe-Nsukka, Enugu State, has emphasised that the university's primary goal is to produce graduates who possess the skills to become job creators rather than job seekers.
Ogbulogo made this statement in Nsukka recently while speaking with newsmen shortly after inspecting facilities at JOFRAN Global Concept Ltd and G-Techno Interleague Nig Ltd as part of an entrepreneurial partnership with the university.
The Vice-Chancellor, who expressed satisfaction with the facilities at both companies, disclosed that the university would soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the firms to advance entrepreneurship training.
“Our vision at Maduka University is to ensure that graduates of the institution acquire at least two vocational skills by the time they complete their studies so that they become job creators instead of job seekers,” Ogbulogo said. “I am here today to inspect their facilities, and I must say that I am impressed with what I have seen. The university will soon sign an MoU with these companies.”
He further explained, "We are here to inspect their facilities to ensure that we can replicate them at our university for the entrepreneurial training of our students. Maduka University is an entrepreneurial university that ensures students graduate with at least two skills that will make them self-reliant and job creators.”
In response, Chief Ifeanyichukwu Okpo, the Managing Director of JOFRAN Global Concept Ltd., expressed his enthusiasm for partnering with a reputable institution like Maduka University on entrepreneurship initiatives.
Okpo, who also serves as the Director of the Centre for Agriculture at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, explained that his company specialises in bee farming, honey harvesting, honey processing, and exporting honey and its by-products according to international standards.
“That is why my company supplies honey to major hotels in the country; exports honey and its by-products, and represents Nigeria in all international honey exhibitions,” Okpo said.
Similarly, Mr. Peter Onyeke, an engineer and the Managing Director of G-Techno Interleague Nig Ltd, shared insights into his company’s operations, which include machine fabrication and the processing of agro food, vegetables, and spices.
“Our company fabricates various types of machines and uses them to process agro food, vegetables, and spices, which we then sell to those in need,” Onyeke explained . “We have machines that process the popular spice known as ‘Okpeyi Nsukka,’ package it neatly, and supply it to markets and supermarkets across the country and beyond. We also have machines that peel cassava, grind it, press out the water, and fry it. Additionally, we have machines that crush plastic bottles, among others.”
Onyeke, who is also the proprietor of Onward Secondary School Nsukka, expressed his excitement about collaborating with Maduka University to produce graduates equipped with the necessary skills to become job creators rather than job seekers.
“This is something that other universities in the country should emulate so that students, upon graduation, will be self-reliant and job creators instead of job seekers,” he said.

The event marked the inauguration and swearing-in of the 16-member Students’ Consultative Forum (SCF). The highlight of the event was the beauty pageant.
At the end of the keenly contested exercise, Deborah Chizaram Okpara was crowned as MISS MADUKA, while Godswill M. Nnamchi emerged as MR. MADUKA.
Other category winners are Jessica Ezinne Ugwu, Face of Maduka; Nmesoma Geraldine Ogamba, Miss Tourism; Bernard Chidera Chiemeka, Mr. Tourism; Jessica Chinaza Emeribe, Miss Virtuous lady Lady; and David Pwanovi Gift, winner of the Spoken Word contest.
Reflecting on the completion of the first session, Prof. Charles Ogbulogo, the Vice-Chancellor of Maduka University, expressed satisfaction with the university's accomplishments and the dedication of its faculty, staff, and students.
