“In 2020, I Began Trading Cryptocurrency With ₦340K Federal Govt COVID-19 Loan; Today, That Risk Has Transformed My Life” - Influential Crypto Trader, Julius Elum Shares His Life Story

On November 8, 2020, Julius Elum got a ₦340,000 from the Federal Government COVID-19 loan but ventured into the world of cryptocurrency. Little did he know that he was sowing the seeds for his future fortune.

In a year when cryptocurrency was still finding its footing in Nigeria, Julius took a bold step that would alter the course of his life.

Using the ₦340,000 loan, Julius made his initial investments in Cardano (Ada) and Ethereum.

Today, this seemingly unconventional investment has transformed Julius into a multi-millionaire.

Julius, now the proud owner of a Lexus SUV RX 350 2022, shared his happiness on his Facebook wall, expressing gratitude for his success and attributing it to the rewarding nature of cryptocurrency.

He wrote, “Congratulations to me💥🎉

A new car just arrived🔥🔥🔥
5 days ago, I got a Lexus SUV RX 350 2022 model as a gift to myself for all the hard work in preparation for the crypto bull market.

When I was paying for this car a few days ago, I was highly emotional. I looked back, and I knew it could only be God. I never imagined 7 years ago that I could pay ₦60, 000,000 million naira in cash for a luxury car😭😭

And this is just one car out of three I bought in two weeks.

Join me and thank God.

This is evidence that crypto pays, and it pays hugely!!!”

Julius's success isn't just personal.

With a passion for empowering others, Julius founded CryptoHood, a crypto community with over 40,000 members across Africa and the globe, in January 2021. Under his guidance, over 700 people have reached millionaire status, including one millionaire in dollars, and thousands of others who are richer in hundreds of thousands than they were before joining the CryptoHood community.

Julius Elum is a shining example of the life-changing opportunities crypto offers.

Stay tuned to see what the future holds for Julius (as we're in a bull market) and the CryptoHood community, one of the fastest-growing crypto communities in the cryptocurrency industry.

Culture / Prof Awuzie, Onyike Elected President, Secretary Alaigbo Development Foundation by Visagemedia(m): 8:51am On Apr 08
Igbo think-tank organisation, Alaigbo Development Foundation (ADF) on Saturday elected former National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof Ukachukwu Awuzie and former Deputy National President of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Chief Abia Onyike as President and General Secretary respectively.

The election which took place at the Enugu residence of former minister of Power, Prof. Bath Nnaji effectively brought to an end the over 10-year reign of Prof Uzodinma Nwala as the president of the group.

Addressing members of the group before the election, the Chairman of the ADF Board of Trustees (BOT), Bishop Udezuo Onubogu, stated that the election is rebirth of the Igbo Think-tank which was an outcome of the 20214 colloquium on “the Igbo question.”

The BOT Chairman who recounted how the ADF was birthed in the same home of Prof Bath Nnaji in 2014 called on all the aspirants for the various positions to see the new venture as a call to duty for Ndigbo.

Bishop Onubogu after his welcome address moved a motion dissolving the former Executive Council led by Prof. U T. Nwala, and the motion was seconded by Barr. Max Ozoaka. Immediately the former Exco was dissolved the Chairman of the four-man electoral committee, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa took over the process and subsequently conducted the election.

81 delegates from across Nigeria were accredited to vote. After all the votes cast were counted, both the new President and Secretary secured all the 81 votes cast.

Other members of the new exco include, Dr. Jerry Chukwuokolo, Deputy Vice President; Engr. Ike Nwandu, Deputy National Secretary; Barr. Max Ozoaka, National Legal Adviser and Dr. Onyi Gbujie, National Financial Secretary.

Others are, Maazị Chukwuemeka Obinwugo; National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Arinze Nwosu, National Treasurer; Maazị. Zulu Ofoelue, Organising Secretary and Lolo Nneka Chimezie, National Welfare Secretary.

Earlier in his goodwill message, Prof. Bath Nnaji who is also a member of the BOT reiterated that BOT had to step in to rejig and refocus the ADF to ensure that the original idea of its founding fathers was rejuvenated in the interest of the progress of Igboland and Ndigbo everywhere in the world. The former Minister urged the new exco members to abhor sit-tight syndrome and to realise that their election was a call to solemn service to Ndigbo.

In his acceptance speech, the new Pressident, Prof. Ukachuwu Awuzie thanked all members of the ADF for the confidence reposed on him and all the exco members. He promised that he shall make integrity and accountability the watchword of the new executives.

He said:

“We shall ensure that we do not disappoint you, we shall bring together the ADF and work for the transformation of Alaigbo.

“ It is an opportunity to serve and we are going to serve selflessly, committedly and we are going to serve patriotically.

“We shall work in consultations with the leaders, we cannot claim to know all the problems of Ndigbo, so we shall continuously consult widely so that we can lead well to the benefit of our people.

“As a people, we have an existential problem that our progress and future is threatened. So ADF will work with other organs of Alaigbo, and other patriotic associations working for the progress of our people, for our children and posterity.

More so, we shall rely on the support and assistance of all patriotic brothers and sisters for our collective success. We shall need your prayers, contacts, financial and moral supports to succeed.

‘You’re a great'mentor'—Northern singers eulogise Maduka University Enugu Founder,Dr. Samuel Maduka Onyishi, MON in a new video [watch].

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dCaGghif9w?si=PuzDBTvxqsSvjs-b

A group of entertainers from the northern part of Nigeria has eulogised Dr. Sam Maduka Onyishi, the Chancellor of Maduka University and CEO of Peace Mass Transit, in a new song, describing him as a mentor, hero, and honest person.

The singers said Dr. Maduka is a detribalized Nigerian whose magnanimity knows no tribe or religion.

According to them, the song is already making waves in northern Nigeria and other parts of the country, and Dr. Maduka is a blessing to the generation.

The translation of the song, which was originally in Hausa, is loosely translated as follows:

. Your good behaviour does not hide You are a person who fulfils promises. Helping the poor and orphans is your responsibility. I have not seen a kind person like you. A great hero is a worthy person. It’s a blessing to have someone like you. You are a father to the masses. You kind of help make people happy.

Their musical tribute is one of many testimonies about Dr. Maduka’s benevolence and good heart.

Through his NGO, the Sam Maduka Onyishi Foundation, the serial entrepreneur has provided educational scholarships, healthcare support, and other forms of assistance to vulnerable communities in Nigeria.

His passion for youth empowerment has led him to support initiatives that promote education, entrepreneurship, and leadership development among young Nigerians.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to business and philanthropy, Dr. Maduka has received numerous awards and accolades.

In 2012, the Nigerian government, under the leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan, conferred on him the prestigious Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) national honour.

He has also been recognised by various national and international organisations for his commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development.

Thsi is a GSS course brother so it requires all the students to be in one class.
Tbagwell80:
What is the purpose of floating a private university if you can't bring anything new to improve the system. The sight of the crowded class hall is an eyesore. Private universities are generally costlier than public universities so I expect something better. Why should I pay to attend this kind of school where student-lecturer ratio is about 300:1. I would advise that you take down this photo and also inform the management to work on a better ratio by either building more facilities or admitting less number of students.

Food / How Chioma Egodi’s False Accusations Prompted Erisco Foods To Defend Itself by Visagemedia(m): 4:41pm On Mar 11
How Chioma Egodi’s False Accusations Prompted Erisco Foods to Defend Its Reputation

UNVEILING THE TRUTH AND EXPOSING THE LIES

Did Chioma Egodi Reviewe Erisco’s Nagiko Tomato Paste or Was She On A Mission To Destroy Erisco Foods And Run It Out Of Business?

Be The Judge

On September 17th, 2023, Chioma Egodi Jnr in a facebook post on her timeline made the following statement;

“I went to but (buy) Tin Tomatoes yesterday that I will use to make stew, I didn’t see Gino and Sonia, so I decided to buy this one, (referring to Erisco Nagiko tomato mix), I decided to taste it omo! Sugar is juat (just) too much! Haaa biko let me know if you have used this Tin tomato before because this is an ike gwuru situation!”

The said post generated lots of reactions from her followers and facebook users; below are some of the reactions:

One Blessing Okeke responded “Stop spoiling my brother’s product, if you don’t like it use another one than bring it on social media or call the customer service of Erisco Foods Ltd”

Chioma Egodi Jnr, responded to Blessing Okeke by writing “help me advise your brother to stop ki***ing (killing) people with his product, yesterday was my first time of using and its pure sugar. Tueh!

Lets look at that response in a proper perspective. Is that response still product review or product destruction? She just alleged that Erisco’s product is killing people. This is a very serious allegation and where and how did she get the information that the product is killing people?

(is this a product review?). Be the judge

More so, One Amaka Love Amaobi responded by writing “my sister thanks for updating us Dalu nne”

(now based on Chioma Egodi allegation, this person will never use Erisco’s products again and moreso, through the word-of-mouth advert which is the most effective form of advert, she will spread this allegation to multiples of people)

One Don Kashking responded: Pls can we now spoil the product? And Chioma replied him by stating “done already bro,...

The above statement is a clear conspiracy from Chioma Egodi and syndicate to destroy, damage and wreck the brand, Ersico. They have moved from product review to product destruction.

Apart from the comments above, there were many more comments suggesting that the Erisco Nagiko paste is a bad product and people should avoid it.

Interestingly, there were many positive reviews from some of the users of the products, who gave positive reviews of the products and blatantly condemned what Chioma Egodi was doing. They cautioned Chioma Egodi that what she was doing was not a review but deliberate act to destroy Erisco Foods and it's products.

Chioma responded to them by the write up below;

@followers about my post yesterday concerning the sugary Tin Tomatoes, my inbox has seen a lot ooo, pls help me tell these persons to avoid me. I only ask if anybody has used it to give their honest opinion but these people is attacking me on my inbox that I am spoiling business for their brother, pls it’s enough stop it. We can take this matter to court oo if you want.

You can see that Chioma is the first person that talked about going to court.

**So, why the outcry now that the matter is in court?*

Furthermore, an interesting observation from the conversations on the comments section of her post is that she abused those that had positive comments about Erisco nagiko paste and made thumbs up (supported) for those that criticized it. More so, some people advised her to pull down the post that she’s destroying someone’s business but she blatantly refused.

It became evident that the intent and purposes of Chioma Egodi was not to review the product but was out to destroy it. It was further evident that she was hired to destroy the product using her platform.

Erisco Responds To Chioma Egodi’s Allegation

When the management of Erisco Foods Ltd was notified about the post by Chioma Egodi, they enquired from there customer relations department if there was any official complaint from her on their product, they found none. They reached out to Chioma Egodi through a third party requesting her to bring the product she claimed to buy for verification to ensure if wasn’t a fake one, but she declined.

The management had no choice than to defend its reputation as the tense situation already generated a campaign of calumny to boycott Erisco’s products.

Prompt Corporate Response

Erisco Foods, aware of the weight words carry in the digital era, especially when concerning public health, took these accusations seriously. The company, recognizing the potential harm such statements could have on consumer trust and public safety, responded promptly. They maintained that their product was safe, adhering to all health and safety standards, and that Egodi’s claims were not based on factual evidence.

The company further reached out to Chioma Egodi to bring the used Tin of the Nagiko paste she tasted that was full of sugar or send the product batch number and production date so that the company can be sure it was their product she was talking about and not a fake one. Chioma declined all entreaties.

Erisco then decided to use the legal route to clear its name.

Legal and Police Involvement

Given the gravity of the claim that a food product was endangering lives, Erisco Foods Management petitioned the Police on a complaint of Criminal Conspiracy, de-marketing and blackmail of killing people by an organized body. That’s how the Nigerian police became involved. The police invited Chioma Egodi for investigation on the strength of Erisco’s letter.

Chioma Egodi’s Apology.

During the Police investigation, Chioma Egodi offered and penned a remorseful apology with a promise of retraction as well as posting the apology on her page.

"I sincerely wish to apologize to Erisco Foods Limited for the post I made on Facebook about their product Nagiko Tomatoes mix. I am truly sorry for the product. I am fully sorry sir. I regret my actions and wish to be forgiven. I pledge that this type of bad behavior will never happen again. I undertake to retract all my earlier post on this matter immediately. This is without any compulsion. I will do everything within my power to rectify the mistake and wrong concerning the matter. All the things I told wrongly about the damage done to the company, its customers and the general public. Once again, I am very sorry for the offense."

Chioma Failed To Retract

On the grant of bail, Chioma failed to retract her false allegation and started a campaign of calumny against Erisco Foods, saying she was forced to write an apology. The implication of this is that she still stands by her statement that Erisco Nagiko paste is killing people.

Evasion After Bail
Recall that based on the understanding that Chioma will use the same medium she used to allege that Erisco Nagiko Tomato paste was killing people, to use same medium to retract her statement, Chioma was released on bail with a condition she will be available to complete the out of court settlement process. Instead of following through with her obligations agreed on, she reneged on the conditions of her release. Severing ties with the lawyer who had initially represented her in Abuja, and a relation that signed her bail bond. Chioma turned to Inibehe Effiong, leaving a trail of unanswered questions and legal challenges in her wake.

Affirmation of Product Safety
The Nigerian regulatory agencies gave its update on the status of Erisco Nagiko Tomato paste for consumption.
1. NAFDAC.

NAFDAC with its mandate to safeguard public health released a statement:

"Update on the Registration Status of Nagiko Tomato Mix. The product in question - Nagiko Tomato Mix by Erisco Foods Limited with NAFDAC Registration Number A8-7430 is a registered product. The formulation of tomato paste and ketchup products with sugar is safe for consumption."

2. The Lagos State Government's Consumer Protection Agency, LASCOPA, weighed in with its findings: in its public statement, "LASCOPA SAYS NAGIKO TOMATO FIT FOR CONSUMPTION

Contrary to claims made by one Mrs. Chioma Egodi on Facebook about the state of a tin tomato product named NAGIKO Tomato Mix 400g, the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency, LASCOPA has declared that the product is safe for consumption and does not pose any health hazard to the consuming public.

A statement signed by the General Manager of LASCOPA, Afolabi Solebo said the certification by LASCOPA about the product follows the outcome of the laboratory tests which the product was subjected to upon the complaint from the consumer.

According to him, to authenticate her claim, LASCOPA had embarked on an independent investigation by inviting Erisco Foods Limited, the producer of the product and Egodi to two different meetings held on the 3rd and 10th of October, 2023.

In his words, “The outcome of the meetings informed the decision of LASCOPA to request for samples of the product which were subsequently taken to the laboratory for test and analysis as well as to ascertain the conformity of the sets of parameters of the product samples to establish if the product is safe for consumption or otherwise”.

“It must be noted that two samples of the product were taken from Erisco Foods Company and another two sets of samples were obtained from a market survey by LASCOPA to balance and ensure a true reflection of the state of the product from both the company and the market.

"The laboratory analysis of the two sets of samples collected for Microbial and Physicochemical tests showed that the product passed all the tested parameters and it is safe for consumption based on the outcome of the test conducted", he added.

Wrong Perception in the Court of Public Opinion

The case of Chioma Egodi versus Erisco Foods Limited reverberated through the court of public opinion, a forum often swayed by sentiment and emotions rather than facts. The discourse surrounding the incident highlighted the need for a balance between freedom of speech and the accountability that must accompany public declarations, especially when they concern the health and well-being of consumers.

Now, we're left with deep questions that touch our hearts and make us think about what's really going on.

Why is Chioma working so hard to ruin a company's good reputation, a company that has been feeding countless families for years?
What makes a person ignore the damage they could do to the people who rely on that company for their jobs? It could be deduced from the firegoing that the goal was never to review the product, but instead about causing so much trouble that the company might close down?

These questions make us think about the kind of community we want. Do we want to live in a place where people can make big accusations without proof, putting hard work and jobs at risk? Or do we want a community where we solve problems by talking, looking at the facts, and finding the truth?

This story about Erisco Foods and Chioma isn't just about a fight between a company and one person. It shows us what we value, what we stand for, and the future we want to create. Let's not get carried away by false claims and narratives. Instead, let's look for the truth with open hearts and minds. It's not just about Erisco; it's about our honesty and how we care for our community.

Education / Admission of nursing students: Official Statement from Maduka University Managem by Visagemedia(m): 4:38pm On Feb 14
Admission of nursing students: Official Statement from Maduka University Management

The attention of the management of Maduka University Enugu has been drawn to false and misleading publications against the school on some news portals regarding admissions and school fees payments.

The malicious and false publication, which appeared first on www.thepressng.com and syndicated on other blogs with the headline: *Maduka University Enugu Scams Over 400+ Nursing Students ₦800,000 Each Without Offering Them Admission,* It was alleged that over 400 nursing students were denied admission despite paying their fees.

The story is false, misleading and should be disregarded in its entirety.

As the management of Maduka University, we wish to categorically refute these baseless claims and provide clarity on the matter.

First and foremost, it is important to state that at Maduka University Enugu, students are only required to pay school fees after being formally admitted into their respective programmes.

It is against our institutional policy to collect fees from prospective students before offering them admission.

Contrary to the erroneous assertions made in the circulated story, Maduka University operates an open admission policy, and academic activities, including those in the Nursing and other departments, are currently ongoing.

We wish to state unequivocally that the allegations of collecting fees from over 400 nursing students without offering them admission are entirely false and without merit.

We challenge anyone making such claims to provide evidence of payment without corresponding admission into our institution.

As a responsible institution committed to transparency and accountability, we invite scrutiny and verification of our records to debunk these unfounded accusations.

Maduka University remains steadfast in its dedication to providing quality education and upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethics.

Our guiding mantra emphasises student-centered learning, critical thinking, creativity, and a commitment to excellence.

We are deeply committed to the well-being and success of our students, and any suggestion to the contrary is baseless and misleading.

Maduka University Enugu reaffirms its commitment to admitting students for the current academic year.

Our 2023/2024 Matriculation ceremony for all our pioneer students, comes up on 23rd February 2024.

We extend a warm invitation to candidates participating in this year's Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to consider Maduka University as their institution of choice.

Our legal team is currently reviewing the publication and will pursue necessary action against the individuals responsible for the malicious story.

We urge the public to disregard the false narrative being circulated and reaffirm our unwavering dedication to providing quality education and fostering an environment conducive to learning and personal development.
We caution the public, prospective students, and parents against making any payments to unauthorised individuals.

All official transactions should be conducted solely through our established channels of communication.

Any dealings with individuals outside the school management are done at one's own risk.

Peace Microfinance Bank, Ilmi Children’s Fund join forces to empower teachers through TARM Cooperative

Ilmi Children’s Fund (ICF) and Peace Microfinance Bank (PMFB) have officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the TARM Cooperative.

This is aimed at providing financial empowerment and retirement planning for teachers in the country.

The MoU signing ceremony took place in Abuja, where Maryam Augie-Abdulmumin, Executive Director of ICF, and Judith Chinedu Onyishi, Managing Director of Peace Microfinance Bank, solidified their commitment to supporting teachers.

The TARM Cooperative, an extension of the TARM initiative (Training, Advocacy, Research, and Mentorship), is strategically designed to address the financial needs of both male and female teachers.

Speaking at the event, Augie-Abdulmumin noted that the TARM initiative primarily focuses on empowering female teachers in their work with adolescent girls.

"The cooperative is more holistic and seeks to help both male and female teachers plan for a secure retirement. It will also empower teachers who become members to retire to a future of ease," Augie-Abdulmumin said.

Judith Chinedu Onyishi, speaking on behalf of Peace Microfinance Bank, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with ICF.

She added that the establishment of the TARM Cooperative would provide teachers with essential financial tools and resources needed to plan for a secure future.

"We believe that teachers deserve a retirement plan that is dignifying and gives them hope," Onyishi added.

Peace Microfinance Bank Ltd. was incorporated on May 28, 2008, under the Company and Allied Matters Act 2004 with RC No. 750063.

It received its operating license from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on September 9, 2008. Headquartered at No 481 Utako District, Utako Abuja Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Peace MFB has expanded its branches to 15 within the FCT.
