To be honest.... Xiaomi phone is very strong, I've been using my Note 8 pro since 2019, no issue what so ever, during the early purchase of it, if the phone fall, na high BP, I go almost wan cry, but to discover na fall and pick. Apart from the back glass alone that got broken due to heavy fall and rebouncing multiple times which I thought end had come to it on that fateful day. But now, I don't even give a damn any longer when it falls again. Sometimes people around me will scream, I will just laugh and pick it.
Another thing is it doesn't lag, mine Redmi note 8 pro is of 6/128g which I've used up to 99% of the memory, but it has never hang for once or slow down. The battery is also great. As it is, that I want to change my phone is nothing but I just want to upgrade to newest version which is Xiaomi 10 ultra or 11

I understand your pains as a father also, the burden of want to be a proud father who can be boastful of his children's intelligence and good behaviour. To me, I will advice you to set the TV on timer, that at a period of time it went off by itself, speak to your wife, for the sake of the child's growth, have a gadget free days, week (I mean switching off the TV) sometimes, put off the display that it's only audio output alone to listen to, that will make him lose interest, no matter how much you love your kids, let them know the importance of discipline. Not all time you listen to the whining, he's growing, if that is not done now, it might be hard to change that later. Spend much time with him most especially in his academics. I was once in a situation like this but to God be the glory, my daughter is now adjusting fine. Even her teacher confirms that (because she was once a girl who constantly talks, play and watch cartoons with no limits, even pressing phone, she will want to be seeing what you are doing on it, to crown it all, she doesn't sleep much at all) But I can say categorically, she's really doing fine now academically and behaviour at large ever since I've put somethings in place and create a boundary on what to and what not to. Please take charge as the father and the head of the house.
