Good morning house, My cousin's graduation is in 16days and I want to attend. He's willing to invite me over for the ceremony. I've ties to my country. A family and a good job. What I want to know is, is the time frame enough to file an app and obtain the visa? 2ndly, What re the required docs for this kind of application. My regards to everyone.

Turkey started cable visa April last year.. Its a tourist visa alright,my question is,can one travel with it without any other requirement(s)? I read on their website that one must have a valid Visa from any of the OECD countries to be able to travel with the online visa.

Agents are bragging that they can process Turkish visa in 4 days bla bla bla.. I ve read through the process of application on their(Turkish embassy) website and I must confess its just too easy.

My question once again is, can one process the visa can one process the visa online and travel with it pronto.?

Well, there's no country in the world without her ups and downs.. Nigeria has few ups and many downs.. You finish school here and its hard to get jobs..our standard of living is poor,poor electricity supply,bad roads etc.

These conditions are enough reasons amongst others to flee from this country..

Many pple become stranded and frustrated abroad because of their mentality. There's no country in the world where money falls from the sky. The only difference is,you get good reward for labour abroad unlike what obtains here.

Many pple go abroad with the wrong mentality.. They want to hit it big in a very short time frame. When this doesn't happen,they become frustrated and miserable. Be ready to start small.

As for me, I want to see S.A someday. Start a family there and make something for myself in a strange land.

I want to write GRE and TOEFL...how do I register for these exams now that we can't take the exams here in 9ja. I know this question has been addressed before. All I need is a link to that page. Please help a brother out.

Furthermore, does anyone have info about schools in Turkey (pls start a 'general Turkey students' visa enquiries thread )..I ve searched nairaland in and out but could not find anything about traveling to turkey on academic grounds. That country sef make sense.

bigfrancis21: There's nothing cumbersome about M.Sc application. Unless you just don't want to do M.sc. Age is no longer on your side to go for B.Sc and you stand a better chance of getting the visa at the embassy at your age if you go for M.Sc.

2.83 will get you somewhere between 2.80 and 2.90 over 4 points on the US scale which is still ok. Some US schools have 2.5 and 2.7 as minimum CGPA requirements. Here are 2 of them:
1) 1005 Auburn university, Alabama(2.50 GPA, requires good GRE, and TOEFL for GA)
2) 4389 California State University, Long beach (2.7/4.0 for your last 60units work, GRE is required) $29836 per session.
3) Lamar university. .2.5/4.0, GRE V+Q =1100, Q = 700.

You can check them out.

If your final year and 4th/3rd year CGPA(if 5 years or 4 years course respectively) are good and up to 3.0/4.0 you might want to apply to schools that look ONLY at final and penultimate years and demand for at least 3.0/4.0 from those two years. One of such schools is:
3) University of Illinois, Chicago, 3.0/4.0 from latter half of academic program, $8949 per semester).

Lemme ask you this. What's ur CGPA No, matter how bad it is, it would be acceptable. I know someone with 3rd class now studying masters in US.

Ur options:
1. Do PGD here in 9ja for a year or so, then apply for masters in US.
2. Search schools that accept ur CGPA for masters degree.
3. Go for 2nd BSC 'If' only you have a cogent reason for that.

I would have loved to go for MSc but I ve not been able to find schs that will accept my CGPA.. I have contacted. some schools though and it seems the standard score is 3.0.

bigfrancis21: Yes he does. His CGPA on the US 4-point equivalent will fall somewhere around 2.80/4.0. However he should not apply to schools with 3.0/4.0 as minimum CGPA requirement given that his CGPA doesn't meet up. Several schools exist that have lower requirement of 2.7/4.0. A minute few have 2.5/4.0 as minimum.

Also, some schools look at the final year and penultimate year of one's academic transcripts and not the whole full 4 or 5 years of schooling and this tends to favour some people especially those people who may not have had a good start in their first and second years but improved geometrically in their upper years. So the CGPA of his upper years may be higher than 3.0/4.0 while the overall is 2.8/4.0 thus favouring him on schools with this requirement.

These are tips he should look out for.
