Music/Radio / Website Emerges To Pay Africans For Submitting And Translating African Lyrics by VNaija: 2:42pm On Jun 16, 2016

You heard right oh. In this dwindling economy, a company named “LyrixOfAfrica.com” has sprung up with the aim to “alleviate as much economic pain as they can with the power of music”.

The website is set up so that for every lyric posted and translated to English, users get points which they can later redeem to win cash prizes which currently include albums, airtime giveaways, gift cards, and different cash prizes ranging from N5,000 to N30,000.

Speaking to LailasBlog directly, the creator of the site says:

“We see the current economic situation and it is not pretty. LyrixOfAfrica is an idea I have had for such a long time but never implemented simply because of other commitments. However, now that there is so much good music in the air and artistes like Olamide and Phyno are becoming bigger than ever, it is clear that there is a global market for African music, especially the ones spoken in local dialect.

As an avid lover of African music, I sometimes find myself singing words that I do not even know the meaning of, and I am 100% sure that at some point or another, we must have all faced the same dilemma.

The point of this website is to put the power of telling and translating our stories through music in the hands of the average African man/woman. Therefore, if you know lyrics to any songs that you are currently listening to and are fortunate enough to understand the meaning of the words being sung, register on our website and win amazing prizes including cash simply for doing something you would do on a regular day.

Let’s all not only listen to the music, let us understand and appreciate the music because ultimately, music is going to outlive us all and music is what is going to tell our stories for generations to come. “

The site also gives out points for commenting and registering an account. I don’t know about you, but I’m registering and on my way to translate Kukere now.

Jokes Etc / "Marriage" After One Night by VNaija: 8:05pm On Feb 24, 2015
I stumbled upon this story while scrolling through my Twitter. It's really funny and really interesting.

This is the opening, the rest is on the website here: http://naijawatching..com/2015/02/tori-tuesday-marriage-after-one-night.html

My name is Tolu from Port Harcourt and I stumbled upon your blog and really like it. I have a story to tell you, I don't know if you will use it on your blog or how but it's a situation that I'm in and I need your help.

So the other day, this was around like the 6th of February, that is last week, I went out to a party with my girlfriends. One of them was celebrating her birthday so naturally, we all had to be there.

When I walked into the party, I spotted this guy looking at me and me I was kind of feeling him as well but of course, I didn't act on it. As the party continued, we sang happy birthday and the celebrant blew her candles and all that, it was time to dance!

I got on the dancefloor and I started to do my own thing, you know just bumping and grinding on the floor. The next thing I know, the guy that was looking at me initially, his name is Frank btw, was behind me trying to you know...grind! The guy was fine naa so me I too, I got down on it.

One thing led to another and you know, we ended up at his house. Abeg, make una no judge me ohh! We have all been there, at least some of us. Body no be firewood.
Anyway, we did the thing on his bed. It was very passionate, and honestly one of the best sex I have ever had in my life.

The next morning I woke up and he was not in the bed. Me I was smelling something from downstairs, something delicious, so I assumed maybe his sister was at home. I was very embarrased.

I picked my clothes up and got dressed. On my way out, I passed the kitchen and what I saw Naija Watching! Hehe!! Things got hot ohhh! He was the one cooking. He was frying dodo and eggs. What was titillating about the whole thing was the fact that he was not wearing anything, just an apron!

Music/Radio / Wizkid And Rihanna Song Details by VNaija: 2:04pm On Aug 01, 2014
This website seems to be credible and it has posted some more information about the Rihanna and Wizkid song. I saw it on an international website, so I'm guessing this website is credible. Anyway, this is what it had to say.

1. A Source said that Wizkid and Rihanna have in fact been in contact and made music. The source disclosed that the song he heard was as he described "fresh, urban, and something Nigeria and the world would be proud of".He went ahead to say that he was "very impressed" by what he heard and hopes (although wouldn't that be certain) that the song would make the final cut of the album.

Source: http://naijawatching..com/2014/07/wizkid-chosen.html

What do y'all think? I feel that the song go be correct banger ohh!! How Wizkid even land song with Rihanna?
