Here is a link to my website on robotics. http://mbah.net/robotics There are lots of useful links, construction photos etc. Nigerians at home and abroad do work on robotics, both for fun and as a component of their profession. It will be interesting to have a lot of our stuff automated since thats the way most developed countries produce goods for less, say you have a tomato grinder and have a problem an applied basic stamp of about $5 + maybe $5-15 for related sensors and basic electronics, you can make something saving time, making some monotonous decisions for you and thus creating more wealth. Lots of farmers in India use such home-brewed creations, including control by outdated PDA's such as the Visor/Palm etc which are still working microcontrollers. |
Guess requiring pre-loading of drivers depends on your server. I have a Dell SC430 Server, its running Windows 2003 Advanced server w/no problems. It came originally with a 80Gb SATA 1.5Gb drive, l've simply installed 2 other SATA drives, 320Gb and 500Gb. Initially it didnt show in windows, l simply had to restart the server, go to the bios setting and select manually search for new drives. I guess this is not automatic for security reasons, ie a server (even though its a basic cost-effective one) like mine has a padlock option and detects when the case is open, also, if any funny or legit changes like changing drives occur, it should require a specific way to set it up. I didnt have to install any drivers for my system to support the maxtor 320 and 500Gb sata 3Gb/s drives. The server simply recognized them. The dell cd only has being used to configure the 1G NIC onboard, and/or onboard graphics card. When l installed win2003 as, the only hardware not recognized was the NIC, and thats when l pulled out the Dell server CD. Let me know what model and number for the SATA drives you are trying to install, and l can research for drivers or any conflict others have found with them here in the states. |
While working in Shanghai China last year during the world cup, it was amazing the amount of Chinese that came up to me to ask about our men's soccer team. Whatever happens, l pray we don't get disappointed. USA can be defeated. |
