Below is link of the video animation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZIaFacFQUU Essentially, using an SLR l took a motion capture sequence of pictures close to a place l knew. Imported those pictures in a 3d rendering project with the Robot animated and set to drop from the sky on a place holder person/locator object.

Created a liquid / fluid simulation forming the word Google. Need more particles for the small g, but the output was essentially good to me. Will post the youtube video link. Below was created using NextLimit Realflow and rendered using Autodesk Maya Mental Ray + IBR Heres the video link: http://youtu.be/xWMADpzlc3E

Created below using Next Limit Realflow and rendered with Autodesk Maya Mental Ray with IBL imaging. Resolution used in realflow for each letter, spelling my lastname was 300, which generated roughly 24,000 particles per res per frame for the 240 frames, about 8Gb temp files. Next version will up the resoultion to 1000 which will be very CPU tasking !!! Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BY1i30MUIOM My site: http://mbah.us

@kamcom In-built cards due suffer some limitations, and you end up having to share precious rendering RAM with the CPU. Nvidia GTX/Quadro or ATI eg. high end Radeon cards in a laptop will be best. I prefer to stick with nVidia cards, especially since new graphics card are offering support for faster rendering using multi-gpu cores eg CUDA found in decent nVidia graphics cards. Best luck. |

kamcom - best cards to me are the Nvidia Quadro and GTX Series - my laptop Toshiba A505-S6986 handles Maya 2011/2012 well as well as all rendering modes, and comes with the Nvidia 230M with 1 Gb video memory. also remember in addition to install the latest driver from the website of whatever video card your laptop comes with - check this PDF - http://download.autodesk.com/us/qualcharts/2011/maya2011_qualifiedgraphics_win.pdf, hopefully your laptop doesnt use an integrated card, because most integrated cards dont do well for high end graphics programs. Try below also - email me for more information from my website. Good luck.

Magic Morph video using NextLimit Realflow with final rendering with Mental Ray/Maya/IBL HDR image Essentially using 2 objects, one of my first name and the 2nd of my last name, the first is morphed via particles into the second. Revisited a project l did a long time ago, this time a High Definition [HD] version of an animated Nigerian Flag. Below is a single rendered frame. Old youtube [2007 release] version at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHg4jJNpC4c New version, using better understanding of Autodesk Maya - nCloth/NDynamics/Wind etc. New version [720p] link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wFrE0C5TXE

Just completed rendering this animation [7+ hours]. Objective was to have a small pool of water rise and form my name, and then splash down on the surface. Created using NextLimit Realflow 5. Rendered using Mental Ray in 3DSMax 2010 Animation Video clip link on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbUH7e_Bj-8

Thanks. To me, 3dsmax does more with respect to animation, modelling and tons of available professional materials compared to Sketchup. But l must say sketchup is easy to use and integrates with Google map / gis positioned environment. Below is a Fluid simulation attempt, using NextLimit Realflow 5 - Basic Rendering using Autodesk Maya with Mental Ray Animated short video clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKmw-2ac6rk Related additional short video clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=El624v1MdDw Settings used if you are into Realflow can be found here: http://mbah.net/fx/2011/06/21/realflow-animation/

Clay model rendering of a BMW 7 series - 1st attempt. Clay models are used when you want to concentrate on other things, eq. animation, other than the final rendering/texturing etc. Software 3DS Max 2010 I posted a while ago on this forum a textured and final output render. 1968 Firebird [American Classic Car] rendered using a demo version of V-Ray with Autodesk Maya

For above, l used 3ds Max 2011 - rendered using Mental Ray. I'm working on an animated version - l like your cube idea. Got the below model, then baked and rendered using Blender 2.5.7. Baking and rendering just 400 frames in Blender at full HD: 1920x1080 took almost 3 days on my Quad Core PC/8Gb/GTX560/Windows 7. Completed a short video animation of it on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMHXZ14EkhY

Working on fluid dynamics for this.
