Please how is TEF exam on computer ?
1-For CE can you see all questions on the screen at the same time in case you want to start from like ther easier questions.
= Yes, you can see a set of questions per screen & you're free to go back & forth between the questions or begin at a random number.

2-For writing what is the keyboard like? Is it french or english?
= QWERTY, no accents, no autocorrect.
3-Does it have accent signs?
4-Will you be given a piece of paper at least to jot down our 3 points before typing
= no paper or pens given out at my centre.

5-For CO ,can you view all questions so you can start from Q40 to Q50 or do are the questions displayed to correspond to the exact audio playing?
= you can't toggle between questions, you answer as the audio plays. Once the screen disappears, you can't go back.

Is it like Prepmyfuture where you must click to view the next question?

Can you go back to an earlier question
Thanks

For EE, my test was computer based. I got a keyboard without accents so that set me back a little bit. (Someone recommended to learn how to quickly add accents on a Windows keyboard).
But unfortunately, I found this tip only after my exam.. This will help during the test.

My section B was around 400 words.. I wrote a lot, so I can say I spent more time writing than correcting my essay.

these are the two main points I noticed.

Hi,

thank you smiley
I'm not discrediting the schools actually, but writing my personal experience. I attended AF UK which costs 27k Naira /hour for private lessons. So I only included that part for people who want to learn French in the UK but it's out of their budget.

ayandee:

Congrats. I'm happy to read about your success. May the rest of the process be smooth for you.

Ps: please do not discredit any of the schools. The schools/private tutors are there to guide with the basics. The bulk of the work lies with the individual. I encourage intending learners to attend schools or engage private tutors, whichever they find convenient.

Congrats once again

Great news! It really does take a lot of personal dedication. Well done. Did you write with AF Lagos in July?

Hi all,

I come bearing great news!

After reading @ayandee French story I decided to double my efforts and achieve what she achieved.

I passed TEF in under a year after starting from scratch. (Test Centre: AF Manchester, UK). With the scores & my IELTS results, I have 500 CRS points and I'm so happy because I had 449 points before.

I was attending Alliance Française and institut Français UK but I stopped because they were too slow and charging a huge amount. Then I found my French tutor from here, he is https://www.tobidam.com and I highly recommend him. He helped me get here much quicker than I ever expected.
I used an app to track my progress and this is almost 500 hours of combined study. It's possible!

Thank God and thanks to everyone here for their tips and guidance.

Bonne chance !

Worldtaker:
In the spirit of giving back and also due to requests from my fellow students of Tobidam and friends here too.

This is the full gists:
It all began last year searching for how to begin my French training. I couldn't go to any traditional language school cos of my busy schedule ,so I was searching if I could get an online school, and luckily, I found www.tobidam.com .

Did I know French before? Yes and No
Yes because I could speak a little and write too, but No because when I did my placement test at Tobidam, I was told I was still a beginner according to their curriculum. So I started from scratch.
Just to be brief, I spent 6months, but It was like a year in 6 months. I booked for private class(12hrs/WK as at then) as against group class so that it can be very fast. The tutor said, if I want to pass at a sitting, I must double the amount of class hours as personal efforts. He also said if I can do up to C1, it will improve my results. So I agreed. So I had to put 28 hours/ week of personal efforts aside class own. That is 4hrs/day. I simply gave my life to French for those 6 months.

We do listening ( from DELF A1-B2) for practice throughout, at C1 we started doing TEF listening practice. I did a lot of outside class listening Like RFI, RTL, TV5 monde, Radio Canada etc.
For speaking, Writing & Reading was imbedded in the program from A1. I can't move to the next level until I have passed at least 50% of the exam at every level.( internal assessment)
After the program, I did Special TEF preparation class:
My tutor tutored with 102 CE long texts three times. and the 22 CO long texts three times with some tips on how to master them in order to do well on exam day. I went through them the first time and he joined me for the second and third time.
We practiced exam related EO and EE texts from 2019 past questions and commonly repeated past questions.
We treated 250 CE TEF blue & yellow version as well as all the 6 CO TEF

Tips on exam day: don't be distracted, please concentrate well during listening cos you can easily lose touch. Even if some one knows the answer, do what you know first, otherwise you could be destabilized.

For Writing,( section B) I was told to use Subjunctive , Conditional, Future simple where necessary and my logical connectors. Too many
strategies I was given to meet the requirements, that time won't permit me to list all.

It is paper based and black pen used. That's all I could say for now.
Another beauty of attending Tobidam is that I was provided with all the materials needed. I didn't get any myself. And the class is HIGHLY WORTH IT!
Peace.

Congrats! Your story is very inspiring.
How much are the classes for 12h/week pls?

Thanks!!
