[b]Coding invigorates the world. Despite the fact that coding is essential for most present-day businesses, it is shocking to know that many people are not aware of its existence.

Why do we talk of coding and why do we need coding skills?
Here is the answer, robots have languages they understand. Every letter in the alphabet has a special formula of ‘zeros’ and ‘ones’ that characterize it. These binary numbers are used to give robots direction on how to operate.
Before a robot can perform a task, a coder must translate human language into machine language. This means the coder uses transitional language to direct the step-by-step action the machine needs to take. Coding is the act of programming a robot. In simple terms, it is using machine language to direct a robot/computer to carry out a specific task. It is a basic knowledge to obtain in this digital era.

Coding and computer programming are fields that are growing very fast. The following are why we should encourage children to acquire coding skills.

1. Coding skills will be a part of future resume requirements. Just as computer knowledge is a basic prerequisite for most jobs today, lack of coding skill will be a constraint for getting jobs in the future.

2. Coding helps children with math skills. It helps them appreciate the application of abstract concept of binary numbers in real-life situation.

4. Coding helps to improve patience and precision. These virtues turn kids to self-confident problem solvers.

Having coding skill has the following advantages;

1. Getting high paid jobs: Coders are in high demand, their services are costly.

2. Self-Employment: A coder can develop an app that will feed him and generations. Apps like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, snapchat, Uber, name it, will continue to thrive and more are being developed every day.

3. Capability of working on a project: A software engineer can decide to work solely on his project or take up other projects as a side venture.

4. Ability to innovate: Despite a whole lot of apps out there, a kid can come up with a similar or different app. In September 2016, Zhang Yiming developed an app called ‘Musically’, which is today called Tik tok. In November 2018, it had 680 million monthly active users. It was estimated to increase to over 1.1 billion by February 2021. If Zhang Yiming at 38 could develop such a social app, you can develop an app probably in medicine, agriculture, engineering or social. There are a lot of areas to innovate.

There are many career-paths for Junior Developers, such as Game Developer, Mobile App Developer, Programmers and a variety of other computer coding jobs. These can refine one to a professional level, like data scientist, software engineers, and database and system administrators.

Young people need to understand and work with the technology around them. Teaching children how to code and program at a young age prepares them to be able to face the technological advancement with confidence.

According to recent research, coding is at the front position of a future career. This means there are many careers that will require coding knowledge. Acquiring the skill set for the imminent technology is a smart way to succeed in our fast-growing digital world. Children should have this very important skill in order to have a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

As a result of artificial intelligence, many jobs will fade out and many new jobs will emerge. The implication of the use of artificial intelligence is that human labor is replaced by robots. When a machine is coded, it can replace many human beings. It is cheaper, faster, and precise.

Soon, people will lose their jobs to robots and it is already happening. New jobs will surface for the people that have the trending knowledge of coding and robotics. Let’s not forget, software development industries continue to grow and advance.
