The Mercedes is a very good option talking about reliability, handling, fuel economy and parts availability. My candid advice is that you go for the facelifted versions (2005-2007) models as issues seem to be related with the w203 as been corrected in this models.

Most mechanics can fix most things a matrix. The systems are simpler than that of the golf 4. The golf 4 on the other hand will require someone whose skill set is a little above basic. The system is a little more complicated than the matrix.

I advise you go for auto..the comfort you will derive driving auto is near to none..I have both cars . and i can confidently tell u that if u follow manufacturers maintaince instructions you will nver have any problem with auto transmission

S60 or s80. Parts are extremely cheap easy to maintain low on fuel consumption and they are a damn joy to drive
