Hi all well i need advice from the experts in the house am on the verge of getting a car . and am thinking of getting a nigerian used car due to the budget. i have always been a fan of the brand toyota and i think i will always be for now . but am stuck in between two models and these are the corrola 2010-2012 and toyota rav 4 2008-2010. i travel alot as i work in ilorin and my family is based in lagos and i need the brand that is rugged and easy to maintainand economical out of these two plzz i need candid advice as the offers are getting for these two cars is very close (i.e Nigerian used )

My car(06 accord) went off on me.. With a clicking sound from within the ECM area and instrument cluster light blinking along with the clicking sound.. Scanned & got P0685 ECM/PCM power relay control circuit/ open...Car went into limp mode.. Managed it home like that, the scenerio happen four times before I got home,

How do I access the ECM/PCM relay?

NB- I Disconnected the main fuse and place back.. Car has been driving fine, I still want to check/test the ECM/PCM relay

since u travel alot, I'll suggest u go for Toyota Camry popularly called "orobo" in Nigeria, its fuel consumption is low and very easy to maintain. Thank me later boss.!

Have you checked all fuses?

While at it, inspect ground to battery and the ECM itself.


Pray you don't need a new ECM.

"May be" can you please be specific as I am torn between which to get .... which ever one you choose to be better can you also just give a few reasons why?

For both what can be the highest amount spent on the worst that can happen if they were to have a breakdown.

Most mechanics can fix most things a matrix. The systems are simpler than that of the golf 4. The golf 4 on the other hand will require someone whose skill set is a little above basic. The system is a little more complicated than the matrix.

Fuel economy will be dependent on a lot of factors. If you are buying Nigerian used, try not to buy a bad car. Bad maintenance is not a respecter of brand.
